Malia Holidays was very good.

I booked this holiday in early 2011 on a spur of the moment thing with 19 of my friends. I Immediately went home and read the reviews for it and they weren't very good... but i was telling myself "its what you make of it." Dont listen to the review's, Its just people being picky and stuck up.
Malia Holidays Hotel was actually very good. Hotel staff were very nice.. treat them with respect and they will treat you back the same, The cleaners were very quiet but kind and said hello.
The hotel is right at the top of the strip, perfect i think. Opposite the big supermarket, surrounded by bars and restaurants... very useful if you enjoy your fry-up's and your football.
The beach is very nice, i enjoyed it alot. 10 mins walk from Malia Holidays Hotel.. 15 mins max.
The rep was really nice and really easy to talk to. Her name is Jess.
The booze Cruise is every monday, I enjoyed it very much, you definatly should go for the experience. The nightlife is quality by the way.
Let downs about Malia Holidays Hotel. The bed and breakfast, I was expecting something like toast at least but it was cheese slices and fruit, they had cereal but it was poor. The staff were very strict on bringing people back to your room after a night out.. You can pay 40 euros to let it slide but its your choice
Another small let down were the quad bikes. They were so expensive and if you lose your key for it its 150 euros. I was lucky though, i met someone who had one and let me have a go, but again its totally your choice.
I would definatly recommend this Hotel to you. Bars & Restaurants, Supermarket, Shops and the Beach all within 15mins

Avoid this Hotel!
1 / 10
Jun 2011, Mr Dean

Stayed at this hotel with a few mates and all i can say is that i have never seen staff like this in my life and even got thrown out a day early.
The staff felt the need to come and wake everyone up at 7 in the morning by throwing things and shaking our beds.
We then got threatened by the security guard for talking too loudly in or rooms and said he would strangle us.
The whole hotel is very basic and horrible, and we got thrown out a day early for being accused of stealing items out of the room and they wanted 70 Euros for! and they were throwing our suitcases onto the road infront of the hotel!
This place should be shut down.

Me & the girls came to this hotel and everybody loved it! first of all this hotel is amasin and one of the best in malia!! pool is great and pool and bar staff are friendly - security gaurd is brilliant considering there is not trouble what so ever and if there was random idiots from everywhere in our hotel it would potentially be unsafe?? and there are a lot worse elsewhere! its lcoated right @ the top of the strip - perfect stumblin distance lol but very safe... Next door to the loft bar - brilliant prices for food and drinks and nice friendly staff. Clubs are bouncing! candy & orgasmic, castle! i had not one problem with teh hotel or staff so all teh bad reviews sounds mad to be honest?? yeah there are extreme prices for breaking stuff in the rooms etc so dont break anything..simple?? oh and 4 everybody that has complaints dont go on an 18-30's holiday... If u wnt somewhere peacefull go camp in a feild! ooh ahh maliaa !!

Hotel Malia Prison!!!

Myself and my g/f have just got back from an holiday in Hotel Malia holidays and basically it feels like we have been released from a prison camp!! We were not alone in this assumption as virtually all the guests we spoke to on this stay felt the same. The majority of the staff are rude/perverted/sneaky, the security guard being all three. The only staff who i can say are friendly are the pool bar staff (although you can't play pool or dive in the pool!!!!). The barman in the building is pathetic, one night we got two drinks for 8 euros and he took yes TOOK 2 euros tip himself without being offered (stating it was for his kids!!). Also that night they locked the doors leading to where we were sat on the balcony without telling us they were going to do so then blocked the other exit off with chairs!!! Ignorance!!! The security guard often told people to go back to their rooms if they dared to go to anyone elses! Also on arrival at your room you are met with a pricelist of brekages!!! Not exactly the best welcome ever. You couldn't sleep at night for the noise also. The hotel was relatively clean and if it wasn't for the lovely people we met their it would have been a total wipeout for the hotel. Malia was good but if you are going their stay somewhere else folks!!!!

WORST HOTEL I'VE EVER STAYED IN

8 of us stayed in this hotel last year, and unfortunately it is possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Staff were completely rude, including the security guard on site who glared at everyone who walked past.
The first morning I was awoken to the receptionist screaming 'WAKE UP NOW!!' My friend had suffered from food poisoning the night before and was sick on his bed sheets. The receptionist forced us to pay an instant €30 fine for a new bedsheet, which was quite frankly a 20 year old piece of cloth.
The fines in the hotel were obscene, for example if you broke one of the small plastic bin's located in the bathroom you were fined €50, everything in the room had a price on it if it got broken, including the glasses in the bathroom!! Which were €10 each if they were broken. The locks on the door weren't secure as I found out one morning when once again the rude receptionist burst into my room claiming that we had broke the door. She then forced us to pay €300 for a door which we did not actually damage. However we had to pay it otherwise we would of been forced to leave the hotel, resulting in us being stuck with nowhere to stay! I have never experienced such a careless, ruthless group of hotel staff. Would never stay there again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. By the end of the holiday I felt more like a prisoner than a hotel customer!!
Breakfast was also unfit for an animal - stale bread and a selection of processed meats & cheese!
DON'T GO HERE EVER! In fact this place should be shutdown!

My friend and I went here for 5 nights as it was my first ever girly holiday after having my baby boy 2 years ago! So I was sooo looking forward to it.....well what can I say, we unfortunately missed breakfast every morning ha ha but didn't mind as we just went somewhere local. But the staff there were extreemly friendly and also helpful, we received a fax about our car transfer for when we were leaving and the lady who was sexpecting a lil baby herself was very helpful and gave it to us personally. There was always staff and security guards on duty 24hours so we felt very safe and comfortable to stay there - expecially being 2 young girls.
We did have a problem with our toilet not flushing on the 3rd day, but they again were very helpful and arranged for us to move to the room accross the corridor - so we didn't have to much hassle moving our things.
The bedding was lovely and clean and changed every day! We also forgot one day about putting our money safe and left it on the side, even though the maids had been in, when we got back from our day out everything was still there.....
We are going back to this hotel this year as we loved it sooo much - it's excellent value for money and the staff are lovely and make convesation about your day but are genuinely interested (Kept giving us compliments when we were going outto party - Even the ladies - hee hee)
The location is FAB we never ever needed to get a taxi except when going home to the airposrt - The hotel is at the top of the bar and club strip, not noisey at all but sooo close you can run back if ever you forget anything when you're on your way out....
Jodes xxxxx & Jemstone!!!!!

I went to malia holidays with 3 of my mates and apart from the hotel we had the best holiday because malia is such an ace place to go.
On our 1st night we didnt get a warm welcome, they asked for our passports, chucked us some keys and kept hold of our passports until a few days after.
They treated me and my three mates like crap, we made alot of friends and they wouldnt let them visit our rooms for a few drinks, we had our own little garden shared with two other apartments where we often had a few drinks before and after a night out fairly quietly and every night we would have some pleb of a security man confronting us trying to shove us back into our apartments and flashing a stupid torch at us. Their was an old man that would drop sly comments as you walked through reception, every time we went to the shops for water their would be dirty looks and comments from reception staff, On our last night we were kicked out of the hotel because to this day we accuse the security man of stealing our camera, and other people from the hotel back us as they saw him too.
We got verbal and physical abuse on our last day from all of the staff and they were chucking our suitcases out of the hotel.
not once did we see our rep, not even on the 1st day were they have an introductory meeting they didnt turn up.
Overall the hotel was a disgrace, DO NOT GO THEIR. But on the other hand, malia is amazing place to get smashed and rave and i would recomend it to anyone

malia holidays = good memories!!!
7 / 10
Nov 2008, j23marsh

I went here in the last week of august. The pool is definately the best bit of the hotel. It's one of, if not the, biggest pools in malia. I went with two other 19 yr old girls and we had the best time! They do not have any speakers around the pool area but we took our ipods and speaker docks down everyday and no one seemed to mind.
The majority of the staff are friendly. The only person who we did not take a liking to was the security man who would not let us in the rooms of a group of boys that we made friends with. Nevertheless though he did provide us with good stories to tell when we got home.
The location of the hotel is pretty good as it is the first one at the top of the strip so you can start at the bars and go through to the clubs.
We, stupidly decided to go to the waterpark one day and nearly died from the heat of the bus. It is quite far away and the coach is not really ideal. On the way back we decided to get a taxi, which cost us about 70 euros after the taxi driver squeezed 6 of us into a 4 seater car. suprisingly it was still much better than the coach!! as for the waterpark itself we did not really enjoy it because we were too hungover.
Some of the bars and clubs that we loved were; the loft, union jack, reflex, club uk and candy.
i would recommend this hotel as long as you go with the knowledge that the rooms are very basic and the security very strict!

Please do not listen to those awful...

Oct 2008, Miss K Spencer

Please do not listen to those awful reviews, i stayed here for 2 weeks in aug with my boyfriend, my sister and her boyfriend, and we had the most amazing 2 weeks!!! The hotel is basic but air con can be rented along with other things u may want. The hotel staff are really nice (esp the bar man!!), you just have to be polite. We had no problems at all with the staff. The pool is fantastic, definatly 1 of the best in malia! The breakfast is crap but all greek breakfasts are and the pool bar sells a full english along with a lot of other snacks, they are very nice and reasonably priced! I wouldnt worry about the charges either, we had no problems at all.
As for malia - it was amazing!!!!!!! i would recomend club uk + club 69, the blue night bar + the help bar does the best fish bowls!!!!! for food - zoda, amigos, sticky fingers and napoliana are the places to eat.
We had sooo much fun and loved this hotel and the staff so much we have booked 4 Aug next year!

Erm okay the boys may have not been...

Erm okay the boys may have not been angels but we didn't know what went on apart from what they told us. We did nothing wrong to the hotel and we were not rude at all. My friends were asleep when they got woken up to them screaming. One of my friends got woken up to a passport being hit over her head and another one was being shaken to wake up. If you think it is the way staff should act then thats your opinion.
I've never been spoken to that in my life and i don't like being threatened by someone when im not even in my own country or home. The fact that you didn't even see what went on that night irritates me that you can go ahead and say that to make us out like liars and complete idiots. All we wanted to do was put our point across like you which is fair enough however, you don't have to be rude about it.
Everything did work out for the best though as we were put in a much better place in the middle of the strip were they were alot more friendly and it was much nicer.
Anway to the point, you liked the place and we didn't and everyone has their own opinions so don't degrade ours.

The reviews on this website would scare anyone off! I am going to stick up for this hotel in my review!- They all talk about how bad this hotel, and how the staff are rude etc. However, we found the staff very nice and we got on very well with them. We had an awesome time!! There are many points I agree with, such as Security being slightly mental, and the man at the front desk also being slightly pervy and wierd...But we found it hilarious! We joked around with all the staff and there was lots of banter- we took the **** out of them, and they joked back with us- we did not take the male staff's wierd and often pervy ways to heart at all- we saw it as a bit of fun, and to be honest the staff made the hotel and the holiday even more fun because of all the funny and wierd stuff they did! The security guard was very odd, but harmless and actually very funny- if you aren't rude to the staff but just happy and a little bit cheeky to them they are actually very funny and enjoy mucking around with you. Don't let these other reviews put you off, we would definately all go back to this hotel again if we were to return to Malia. The security guard did have a massive baton/tourch thing which he followed you to your room with sometimes, sometimes shining it into our rooms which was scary but also hilarious because he really enjoyed winding us up! As with some of the other reviews, we made friends with our neighbours and often had 'parties' in a private patio area-the security didn't mind this, just told us to keep the noise down-so they can be laid back- just make sure you get on the right side of all the hotel staff. All the female staff are lovely and very helpful. I have written about the staff for ages- The hotel is very nice, in a nice old greek style with none of this high-rise rubbish. The pool area is very nice and has the best pool out of all the hotels in Malia. There is also a good hotel bar which serves good food to cure your hangovers. The hotel is a good location, at the top of the strip-so you can start at the bars and work your way down to the clubs-brilliant! The hotel rooms are quite basic, but your on a cheapish holiday and what do you expect- also you don't spend much time in your rooms!!- Out at the pool/beach all day and then out all night. the shower room ensuite is pretty basic, but its very acceptable- shower, toilet, mirror and sink which is all you need. Clean rooms and all have a little balcony which is nice. All the other guests in the hotel are young and up for a laugh- so I would definately recommend to groups of young people. Everyone we met in the hotel was really friendly and we made lots of friends easily. Malia is awesome- you'll have a really good time if you go there! And the Malia Holidays Hotel is a right laugh too!
