I have been to Elounda twenty times in the last 3 years and we love the place. The last time we were there we stayed at the Manos Apartments which has everything you need , we stayed at the quiet apartments at the front and they had secure roller shutters so you really felt safe. The beach is right in front of the apartment or you can use the pool which is very clean and the food and drink at the poolside is always very nice.If You wantto go to a tradional greek fishing village and you want a relaxing holiday this is the perfect place.

This was our third visit to the Manos apartments and they get better everytime we go, The bar staff are great and really make your holiday one to remember. Special thanks to Leo (the 47 year old scotish man hehehehehe!). The apartments are very clean and tidy and the service is great, prices are also very reasonable at the pool bar.
Elounda is a great place to visit, we had not visited for over four years, but everyone remembered the family as we walked past the bars and shop, which we thought was great!!!!!
I would fully recommend the Manos apartments to anyone as they are very freindly and welcoming.
Thanks to all the staff at the Manos apartments and the pool bar for making our holiday so wonderful "again".

Manos Apartments Elounda Crete - Fantastic
Apartments had a lovely position right by the Seafront and Harbour. Five minute walk to several taverns and supermarkets. Hired a car with Elounda Travel by the Harbour very cheap and very reliable. We had apartment no 1 which was right by the pool and had two bedrooms best apartment as far as we are concerned. Food at the pool bar was very good and reasonable price. A greek night is held at the apartments every Sunday.
If you want a lovely apartment by the sea with views of the mountains behind you and a five minute walk to the harbour then you cannot go wrong with the Manos Apartments.

just got back from manos on tuesday 27 2008 .had a very brillant holiday ,weather brillant hotal the best , had lots of fun went on the happy happy train twice which is run by leo and his friend ,leo also works in manos apt behind the bar at night ,the best place to eat out is porto rino we eat out five nights its a family ran business very friendly ,their is lots of places to see if you have the time ,or you can just lay on the beach all day and relax best holiday i have had ever ,going back next year for sure ,

I am a 15, I went on holiday with an older brother and my parents. We all really enjoyed it, the pool isn't big but its enuf to have a cool down in and a swim. The staff at the bar during the day were friendly sometimes but they had there days when they were moody, but I have to say the barman of the night Ian is wicked, he was never moody and was friendly with everyone. I really enjoyed staying at the bar thanks to him, so thanks Ian.
I'd recommend this holiday more to older people then family's because there weren't really many teenagers there, but it was still fun. Our regular restaurant for the2 weeks was Makris which was near the end of the square, it doesn't look that nice but the food is delicious. The best place to go to play pool, watch the football and if you want to go on a computer is a pub called Babell, they're really friendly in there.

We have just returned from Manos apartments, what a wonderful time we had.
The apartments were very clean, spotless in fact, due to the very hard work, of Caroline & Lorraine, the resort manager, who was always on hand, for any problems, that may arise.
We had a great time at the Greek night on the complex. The pool bar staff were always friendly & helpful, so a great big thank you for making our holiday so special to all the staff at Manos apartments.

Myself and the family have just arrived back from 2 weeks in Elounda, staying at the Manos apartments. Elounda is a very pretty and friendly place, with all the amenities you would require from a self catering holiday.
The locals are the nicest people you could wish to meet and always have a smile or wave for you, we all learned to say "good morning", "thank you", and "you're welcome" in Greek within days of getting there, Elounda made us feel so welcome and safe. The food and drinks available are of high standard and reasonably priced throughout the village, but we found Poulis to be the best with service and quality. I would recommend car hire at some point if traveling with a family as Elounda can get a little small after a week or so, but does make an equally great base for exploring further afield.
Manos Apartments are a little on the basic and small side but are very clean and tidy, the small pool can get crowded at times but with the beach just a few metres away it isn’t a problem. The beach itself always had plenty of space and was clean with few rocks, very family friendly-my 2 year old son had a whale of a time. You can hire sun beds and umbrellas for 2 euros each for the day and with the changing areas and beach showers there was never the problem of getting sand all over the apartment on your return.
Overall we had a good holiday and I would certainly recommend, Manos and Elounda for anyone wishing to experience Greece how it "should be", or as the local English ex-pats put it..."the people here are more Greek then the Greeks themselves".

Just come back from a week staying at the Manos Apartments in Elounda and I would highly recommend these apartments. They are basic (as you get with Greece) but clean and comfortable. The location is perfect - on the edge of the resort yet 5 minutes from the harbour with all the bars and restaurants. There is a small supermarket next door. The beach is right across the road (20 metres away)!
The swimming pool is on the smaller side but there was always plenty of space. Best of all, there was no fighting for sun loungers. Everyday, there were plenty of loungers free - and this was in high season! The other guests at the Manos are the most friendly we have encountered on all of our travels. The pool bar is great, giving you a chance to meet lot of people and Stavros is a real character!
Elounda is quiet, picturesque and relaxing. We traveled at the start of the school holidays and could not believe how quiet it was - it was like being off season. The resort is definitely the nicest out of all the resorts en route to Heraklion airport. It has lots of charm, fantastic scenery and a perfect location with proximity to Agios Nikolaos (for your nightlife and shops) and Plaka (a real Greek village). The harbour area is very pretty with a great selection of bars and restaurants.
The only downside is that the beaches are manmade, and although sandy, in the sea it is rocky in places and lots of seaweed in other parts. We found the best spot to be on the municipal beach, just to the right of the windmill as here the water was more sandy and no rocks at all. However, we are real beach lovers and we still loved Elounda and would definitely go back there.
