Well when we got there the staff looked at us like we were from another planet. But that must have been our fault for bringing kids. the hotel is in a very good spot but they dont like the kids. there we found it full of the over 60s both german and english. when we went for breakfast it was a feeding frenzie. the evening food was nice but when we ordered the kids meals they come on plates so hot he waiters fount it hard to hold and you guessed it my son was burned on the arm. so if you are 65 love the germans hate a cold plate at dinner and hate kids this is your place.

My wife and I stayed for the sixth time at Jupiter the rooms are roomy and food very good we had a side Balcony ,but a new Hotel is being built across the road so were unable to have the door open for the noise but apart from that we love the Jupiter and Praia Da Rocha and would go back anytime, staff in the restaurant were excellent.the beds were changed regular and towels after one use and the beds were comfortable, my wife uses a walking frame so Praia Da Rocha is all level just right for her.and also one can get to most other places from there .

I have travelled to Portugal and this resort many times always staying at self-catering accommodation.
We booked for 12 people through Going Places for the first week in October. The resort is absolutely fabulous and the hotel could not command a better position.
Our room was cleaned every day and fresh towels were left by very friendly maids. However, we found the reception staff to be extremely rude and abrupt and not very helpful at all. This, we found to be the case when speaking to other guests.
Other than that I would recommend this hotel but maybe more for the more mature traveller.

My partner and I stayed in the Jupiter complex for the last week in August and 1st week in September. Although we requested a seaview we didn't get it, we were placed at the back of the hotel. However the rooms were really nice, spotless and very comfortable indeed, so in the end we really didn't mind, however we would pay the supplement for a sea view in future.
The hotel is just across the road from the beach, which is so handy; there are plenty of sunbed vendors and some offer discounts on food at the restaurants along the board walk if you rent the sun beds.
As others have also mentioned the hotel has a spa and is brilliant & modern, as well as great value. €52 for 2hr session of many spa pools, saunas & steam room, and all over body massage for one hour.
The breakfast is plentiful and has a great range and we were more than happy with it.
Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is so close to all amenities it’s hard to imagine staying anywhere else in the resort. There is a car rental shop about 5-6 doors away and its great value €90 for 3 days.
Loads of restaurants in the resort.
Overall we had a great time and would definately stay at the Jupiter hotel again.

The hotel was lovely, probably the cleanest hotel in the area. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
I would strongly recommend that guests should take advantage of the Jupiter spa, we did and it was great, wish we had used it more.
The only complaint would be the Jupiter restaurant. We booked a table for two for 9pm.on arrival we were shown to our table and given a menu. After 15 minutes of waiting I left my seat and asked for a wine list. We waited a further 15 minutes and no service. We asked several times to place our order and the waiters never responded.
Finally I asked the waiter serving the table next to me could we place our order and he just shrugged his shoulders. So I walked out. Not impressive.
Apart from the restaurant the hotel was brilliant.

My partner and I stayed here from 25th July for 1 week and can only say what a fantastic resort and hotel.
The hotel itself is immaculate with rooms being cleaned daily by friendly maids. Sheets are changed twice a week also. The pool area is safe and clean with waiter service throughout the day (to save you walking into the bar for a drink!).
Breakfast which I think is included in everyone's stay we couldn't fault. I know there have been a few reviews that have slated the breakfast, but you really can't go wrong with cereal, toast, bread (rolls / cibatta) and fruit. There is also a selection of meats such as ham, garlic sausage and also a hot breakfast such as bacon, egg (fried and scrambled), tomato, beans and sausages.
You can't expect it to be like an English fry-up but it really isn't that bad - plus it is a buffet breakfast, so endless supply of tea / coffee and food! Which seemed to keep us going for the rest of the day.
The resort of Praia Da Rocha is lovely. We were worried about the road works we had read about, but it is all finished and the road outside the hotel looks brilliant - it is pedestrianised.
The beaches are brilliant, very clean. Although busy, we walked to the top of the main road, past the main rock / cliff that sticks out and found a quieter beach up there. Access to the beach is by steps but it is all safe. We also went on a boat trip to see the dolphins. Cost 40euro's each and we saw nothing more than half a dozen seagulls! It felt like a 90 minute rollercoaster as it was very bumpy and we went as far as 12 mile away from the coast. There are plenty of water sports and boat trips inc. fishing and diving.
Food is fantastic; we never had a bad meal. There are plenty of Italian restaurants with homemade pasta and pizza and lots of traditional Portuguese ones too. The best restaurant we visited was Titanic, excellent service and good quality food at a reasonable price. Meals each night cost us on average 25 to 50 euros each night for 2 of us (usually including at least one starter and drinks), depending on where we went.
Nightlife doesn't tend to get busy until about 10pm and bars stay open until 4am (although I don't think we made it past 2am - must be getting old!). We were told the clubs get busy at 2am and stay open until 7am...Great bars include Classics, Boogies and Las Vagas.
Would highly recommend this resort and hotel to couples and families alike. Very clean and comfortable.

Great hotel, right at front of beach, great views out to sea and beyond, no kids, a bonus, room spotless, cleaned everyday, clean towels everyday, bed made or changed everyday, beds fantastically comfortable.
Bus stop outside hotel for transport to Portimao which is only a 15 minute walk away, walked along the beach to Alvor took us about 1 hour at a slow pace fabulous beach some good restaurants, good shops all around, waked to the modelo shopping center about 30 mins walk much like a large Asda with all the other shops with it.
Booked again for next year. Don’t miss the sales in Portimao they start about the 8th of Sept, great for shoes clothes etc. There is also a large Freeport and shoe world etc.

Excellent hotel, breakfast and location first class. It was a buffet breakfast and there was a fantastic selection cooked breakfast cold hams cheese toast yogurts fruit juices a wide variety of fruits. Very spacious bar downstairs with lots of seating inside or outside where you sit at night to listen to the music.
The beach was just across the road and taxi stand just outside hotel. Beautiful bedrooms and hotel spotless and very modern. Room service everyday clean towels each day. There are no tea making facilities which I missed as I am very fond of my cuppa but there was a mini fridge with drinks which you pay for but there was space in the fridge to put water and bars of chocolate etc to keep them cool.
I paid for a balcony which I would recommend all rooms had air conditioning. Will definitely be going back to it.

Just spent two wonderful weeks at the Jupiter, an excellent four star hotel. the rooms are tastefully decorated as is the hotel in general. The bar and pool area is a great place to spend a relaxing afternoon if the beach is not your thing
The resort is a beautiful lively place with a vast assortment of bars and restaurants available the titanic and the jazz bar (a'portuguesa) were our favorites where the food and service were excellent.
The people were very friendly wherever we went and spoke good English which helped to make our stay a pleasure, although beware of the scratch card touts who can use up a lot of your time and an old beggar who will ask you if you are English? Irish? Before regaling you with stories of your home town until you give him money, he's fun but boy can he talk!
Overall a great hotel and a wonderful resort.
