" no were near good! "

First of all ignore my spelling. We arrived on time, the rooms were clean, however!!! as a party of four adults and two children we,like a lot of other families were looking forward to entertaning the kids, as well as ourselfs this hotel provided no kids club, although advertised it as doing so. the play area was so delapitated and dangerous, the ground area was uneven and only coverd with builders sand, the pool water in all pools was colder than all the drinks being served. there was entertainment on for all who could fully understand spanish including the kids. Our room was cleaned but to such a low standard, the bedding was not changed during the whole two weeks, even though our child had spilled chocolate drink on her pillow and sheets. The lifts were constantley breaking down proving a great problem as we had two prams to contend with. the doors in the rooms were not lockable internally our eldest who is only two managed to get out all the time.---the food -- Well this will be a first for me as I can eat anything being a chef and qualified catering manager for a major company, let me tell you there was no food for the kids which was edible.with the exception of chips or hot dogs and ice cream at meal times,as for adults I have served better in a field kitchen in bosnia. deplorable for a three star hotel all the cheapest off cuts and meat, steak was topside of beef passed as veal, you could not cut this with the best of knifes. paella was boiled rice with a few prawns and mussels placed in for garnish, breakfast was good if you like green scambled egg and chips, although cold meats and bread were of good supply the overall quality of the food was not good.As this was a an all inclusive holiday we were expecting the children to be able to get some childrens treats ie ice cream sweets crisps etc, this was not to be there was nothing for them apart from icepoles. The bar service was what you would expect though somtimes politeness was available. The choice was limited to san miquel or local mixers. The beach was further than we were advised by our rep, knowing we had prams and the hill was a killer. The holiday was not what we were looking for with children in tow, so bad advice from thomas cook. overall if you wish to waste £2,700 plus what we spent on eating out another £2,500 including entertainment, I am sure for the sum total we not be returning to Salou again in any hurry,

Advice: Do not go if you have children to this hotel

Activities: The fortaventura park was good for adults and for children of a hieght of 1.60mtr

" Great Hotel "

Me and my wife stayed here and we were a little apprehensive because of the reviews we had read. To our surprise we found everything in the hotel was excellent. The food had a great choice, the staff very helpful and friendly and the room was very clean and tidy. The only slight downside (if you are a sun worshiper) is that the pool area is quite shaded because there are quite a few trees. Overall i would recommened this hotel to familes and couples. We are planning to go back very soon.

Advice: great place plent to do and see, great nightlife.

Activities: too may to choose from.

Good for: Beach

" average "

arrived at oasis park 12 noon and told the rooms would'nt be ready till 1pm and the receptionist blamed the bus driver for bringing us 1 hour early!the hotel and the rooms were clean enough-rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels.food was'nt so good and they didnt cater for children. Most of the dishes were fish based,so much so that you could still smell it when you went for breakfast!, although they had sausages, egg, bacon, beans.(sausages and bacon could have done with longer in the pan).entertainment was very poor as the kids entertainment didnd start till 9pm which i felt was a bit late.bar staff were friendly enough. The weather was fantastic but if it hadnt been so warm i think we would have been asking for cash back!!I certainly would not recommend this hotel to anyone with a young family.Definately not U.K orientated, more catered for the Spanish.

Advice: the beach area was nice, street drains were smelly!!too many people shoving flyers in your face.

Activities: most restaurants were very tacky and very expensive.beach was the best bit about salou.

" Don't believe all you read! "

I stayed at the Best Oasis Park Hotel with my 2 children from 18th August this year. Hotel itself is well run, reception staff more than helpful, although there are many many European tourists here who don't always appreciate that some people go to bed early or don't get up very early either!!! Security "did their bit" and sorted out the noisy younger ones who came in late from the bars and made quite a bit of noise. Food at the restaurant was great - although if you don't like fresh salmon, chicken, pork, lamb, tuna, pasta, salad and more fresh fruit than anyone could eat in their lifetime then I guess the all inclusive option isn't for you - we loved it - even the children; from breakfast (cereal, toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, ham, cheese etc. etc.), through lunch whether it be from the restaurant (or the ham/cheese toasties, hot dogs or chips you could get from the bar) to dinner which was always fantastic. The restaurant can get a bit busy but there wasn't a night we went down when we couldn't get a table - some other guests said you might have to wait 10 minutes, a small price to pay! All in all a good holiday even though it was very busy, we would return although not in August - it was too hot!!!! All in all, great value for the money we paid.

" terrible "

Never again......Could have been the time of year we went but the place was full of Dutch
Lager louts making it unbearable for normal families to enjoy any peace and relaxation.
Groups of young Dutch lads running riot in hotel and nothing was done about it. Banging on doors as they come in and shouting at pitch of their voices so as to wake everyone up.
Staff did nothing about it. They even smashed the glass on all the pictures all the way up
corridor on our last night - glass everywhere.
We had to get batteries replaced 5 times on our door - we were locked out for over an
hour one night till they fixed it. Staff not very nice - never smiled. Had to pay for
any water etc. at tea time with your meal (which was not very appetizing) Breakfast ok.
Although parts of Salou was very nice we would never go back.

" Oasis Park Salou "

My husband and I have just returned from a week in the Oasis Park Hotel The hotel itself was ok and the rooms were clean though the soft furnishings were washed out and a bit moth eaten. And talking of eating the food was deplorable it cost us a small fortune to east out almost evryday. At breakfast on the Thursday morning there were no bowls for the cereal getting a cup of tea was a nightmare as you had to run all over the restraunt to get everything together, teabags were on on table the tea machine was somewhere else and then the milk was at the far side. The restraunt was laid out very badly there were broken and chipped plates which you could easily cut yourself on.
We had the same food served almost every day and there were chips for breakfast. In our opinion the hotel catered for the Spanish and for the British ther was very little to choose from if you are not a salad or fish eater.
The pools were clean of which there was 4 to choose from the surrounding area were covered in trees in which birds were nestting and so did their business on the guests it was also very dirty and the area had not been hosed down once since we were there.
The entertainment was also very poor they had one live show which were singers and the rest of the time it was a mini disco for the kids but even they were getting a bit fed up with the same songs over and over again time after time I think they only had the one CD.
Also Salou is not the place to be if you are looking for night time family entertainment were you want to enjoy a night out with the kids this just does not happen in Salou. But my advice is find somewhere better to stay as it can cost you more that you imagined.

Advice: Nice beaches and portaventura is a great day out

Activities: The fountains when they are on

" Reasonably happy "

I was slightly concerned with the differing reviews regarding this hotel. However I can honestly say that this is an acceptable 3 star accommodation, typical of mainland Spain. We went in May, just prior to the school break up, so as expected the hotel entertainment did cater mainly for the Spanish. The rooms were cleaned daily and towels were also replaced daily. The walls are quite thin but this didn't cause us any problems.
The outdoor area could do with a clean up and modernising but again it was adequate.
We found there was a good range of excellent food, very happy.
We did look into upgrading to all inclusive but was told it would cost our party of 6 £120, per day. Considering we were already half board I thought this was really expensive. We did make use of the happy hour though which saved quite a bit of money. There was also a cafe just left of the hotel that offered toasties with a small beer or soft drink for 4E.

" i wouldnt agree with the majority of... "

i wouldnt agree with the majority of the other reviews, i have been going to this hotel for years and it has never let me down.
the food choice and quality was superb, the cleanliness was second to none, the staff was excellent and overall i would give this hotel 10 out of 10.
the entertainment was as expected for a all inclusive hotel.
it is not the hotel fault if people are saving sunbeds however we found there was always a sunbed available throughout the day.

" I spent a week's holiday at the Oasis... "

I spent a week's holiday at the Oasis Park Hotel in Salou with my husband and another couple from the 1st September 2008. We were All Inclusive and having read some of the reviews on this hotel before our holiday all I can say is that the reviewers must have been in a different hotel to ours. The food at the Oasis Park was superb, there was plenty of variety at all meal times, and something to suit everybody. Rarely have we stayed at hotels in this price range and been given food of such a high standard.

The hotel staff (in particular the bar staff) were always courteous, friendly and efficient. The hotel was beautifully clean, our rooms were cleaned and our bed linen changed daily. My only critisism of the hotel is that the decor was a bit tired and needed a bit of TLC and the terrace around the pool area would benefit from having a power wash.

All in all we had excellent value for money and a lovely week in the sun away from the horrible weather at home.

" Having read through the various... "

Having read through the various comments what people have said, am surprised to hear a few has had bad experiences. Have stayed at this hotel 7 times and am returning in October this year. Have found the staff to be helpful, receptionists are happy to sort any problems out. Can get a little noisey, but in Spain its what is expected as this hotel is in a lively area...Rooms are clean and tidy every day.. Restaurant can get a little busy when it first opens but settles down..All in all a good value for money hotel, and would recommend to my friends to try out.

" i have just returned from my two... "

i have just returned from my two weeks stay at oasis park. This is the third time i have stayed at this hotel over many years and believe the standard has not faultered. The amount of people moaning (British mainly) was over silly things like queuing for dinner, made me feel like telling them to grow up. You cant please everyone and as the hotel is a three star rating i feel it meets that criteria.
The Staff work hard, the pool area was clean, however yes there was a stampede in the morning but thats because people kept going down early to get beds which ended up in more people joining them etc!!! Crazy!!!
The food is good and there is enough choice to suit all needs!!!
I didnt bother to stay in for the entertainment but did hear one or two caberets there over the two weeks which sounded good!!!
There are many good bars in salou, which cater for families, couples or party animals!! Salou never sleeps, and the hotel is in a lively location, i think i was awoken once over the fornight, but wherever you go you get that!!!
Im going back next year and cant wait!!!

" A lot of noice wherever you are put... "

A lot of noice wherever you are put as this hotel is surrounded by bars and other hotels music etc.The pool area was the dirtiest i have ever seen did not hose once in the whole time i was there, bird droppings were ingrained into the floor.Food was ok although chicken legs should not be brown in the middle.Room was kept clean but that was about it.They had a ping pong tournament advertised for 4pm one day,the entertainment man asked me for a game and then dissapeared leaving me to organise the kids contest.

" Looking forward to a weeks break in... "

Looking forward to a weeks break in Spain with my two boys 12yr and 16 also my aged Mother, what a dissapointment , we arrived at 9am with full intentions to enjoy the early arraval, but was told we had no rooms and had to be transported to another hotel.

Arriving back next morning we could not get to our allocated rooms till 12- 30.

Food was recycled type veal steak cooked at night meal would be veal stew next night also breakfast beans thrown in, food tasteless, LOOKED GREAT buffet style but very poor, no tea making facilitys alway,s coffee to purchace.

DONT bother with sun beds or umbrellas you will encounter world war three as people have them set up like the Iffel Tower, sml tables and chairs on top to secure them for the day, It was a digrace as the grnuine people who tryed to get sun beds when they needed them bare faced people set them up and walked away to have breakfast , while family,s with small children had to find a shaded area.
very poor.

" STAYED HERE FOR 9 NIGHTS JUNE-JULY.... "

STAYED HERE FOR 9 NIGHTS JUNE-JULY. THE HOTEL WAS EXCELLENT. THE RECEPTION STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THE ROOMS WERE CLEANED DAILY, BEDDING CHANGED REGULARLY AND FRESH TOWELS SUPPLIED WHEN USED ONES WERE LEFT IN THE BATH.
THE POOL AREA WAS CLEANED EVERY DAY AND THE STAFF WORKED TIRELESSLY EMPTYING BINS AND CLEARING AND CLEANING TABLES.
THE ALL-INCLUSIVE SERVICE WAS FIRST CLASS, ALTHOUGH THE "ONE DRINK PER WRISTBAND" COULD PROVE A LITTLE IRKSOME, ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE WITH SMALL CHILDREN WHO WERE INCAPABLE OF CARRYING THEIR OWN REFRESHMENTS. HOWEVER,THE BAR STAFF WERE MOST HELPFUL ONCE THEY REALISED WE HAD A WHEELCHAIR USER IN OUR PARTY.
THE ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAM CATERED FOR MANY DIFFERENT NATIONALITIES AND DID VERY WELL CONSIDERING THE NUMBERS INVOLVED. THE MINI DISCO FOR THE YOUNG ONES WAS VERY GOOD.
HOWEVER, THE STAR OF THE SHOW FOR ME WAS THE SHOW COOK IN THE DINING ROOM. HE WAS TRULY A GEM. THE MOUTHWATERING CREPES WHICH HE MADE FRESH FOR BREAKFAST WERE TRULY SUPERB AS WERE THE FRIED EGGS. IN THE EVENING HE WOULD GRIDDLE PORK LOIN, CHICKEN, BURGERS, HOT DOGS OR FISH TO ORDER. HE WORKED SO HARD AND WHATEVER THEY ARE PAYING HIM... IT ISN'T ENOUGH!!!
I WOULD THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AND PLAN ON RETURNING VERY SOON.
