Oasis Park Salou Reviews
" What can I say; when we arrived after... "
Submitted By: Miss S StoneThey could not find our booking in details and did not like the cover note the accommodation operator gave us.
The room wasn't on a mid floor and it didn't overlook the pool as requested when we booked the holiday. It was on the top floor overlooking a nasty granny flat out the back. There was a single bed when there were 2 of us, 1 towel and one of those nasty half baths.
My partner had to complain not only to reception but to the Hotel Manager in order to get a room that was suitable.
I must admit the room we got given was fairly nice, 1st floor in the corner overlooking the pool area, full size bath, balcony and 2 single beds pushed together.
Few problems though...the noise of the night entertainment was loud up until 12 midnight every night and if you are a light sleeper like myself, the drunks rolling in all night aren't exactly what I would call quiet.
I even tried rolling towels up and putting them along the bottom of the door. As you would know this doesn't help much.
The food in the restaurant was very basic, a frequent dish seemed to be spam, and it was laid out for every meal serving. The rest of the food wasn't bad, very repetitive though.
The bar well you could only have the selected drinks which is to be expected being on all inclusive. Bit of a language barrier though. If you want extra ice or towels from the chambermaids you have to show them what you want. They don't speak any English what so ever.
Also if you wanted your beds made by the chambermaids which they get paid to do you may have to wait up until 5pm at night.
A lot of the time we would go out in the morning about 8am, come back after 3pm and find the room hadn't even been touched. By this time I had made the beds myself.
Overall it was an average hotel I guess. I won't be going back to this hotel in a hurry that’s for sure though.

Submitted By: Mr R BereRooms average size and walls like paper so if it’s a good nights sleep you like its a bad place to stay. I complained about the noise on several occasions with no joy from the hotel staff. Dining room was small and crowded.
This hotel host a lot of nationality's which is mostly made up of Germans. The sky TV in the rooms has no English channels. (All German). No tea making facilities.
Maids clean rooms daily at different times so a cat nap through the day can be interrupted. Entertainment is rotated weekly so if you stay for 2 weeks be prepared to see the same things. My overall thoughts of this hotel are next to none.
Breakfast consists of continental and under cooked bacon and spicy sausage. Evening meal buffet style is as perusal ant a chef cooking fresh meats and fish (9 * to the chef) but very busy and crowded at times.

Submitted By: Mrs A RobbWhat a let down from start to finish. Food was terrible, it was hard to find a warm meal at any sitting. You could tell from the night before what would be on menu.
Entertainment was also awful nothing for children (we had 12 in are party), pool area was not so bad apart from the wasps nest , which they refused point blank to do anything about with the result several children were stung.
Having been to Salou, several times and stayed in lovely hotels we found the Oasis Park to be of a very poor standard and would not recommend it to anyone.

Submitted By: Mrs E A HannantThe hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly there are 3 pools and a full time life guard which is great. There is entertainment every night which was ok but nothing special, although the young kids loved it.
We went all inclusive and it saved us a fortune but the snacks were limited to a burger and a toastie and we didn’t think the food in the restaurant was of a good standard even for a 3 star but maybe we’ve been spoiled in the past.
All in all I could fully recommend this hotel and we would go back there if we visit Salou again.

Submitted By: DonjasboardThe hotel is very nice and clean and all the staff were very friendly there were three lifts and seemed to be new as they were very fast and efficient. The pool area is very nice with a full time lifeguard every day making sure of no rowdyness. The clientele is very mixed with Spanish and a mixture from all over Europe including Russia.
The two things that disappointed us most were the quality of the food that was really poor even for a 3 star and the Quality of the night time entertainment which was very poor unless you were a 5 year old child, and considering most people were on all inclusive and stayed in the hotel at night this was very disappointing.
Finally on the subject of all inclusive the choices were very limited in the bar and a lot of the drinks had a 2 euro surcharge on them ie dark rum were white rum was free and the food provided all day was limited to Burger, toastie and chips.
Overall I would recommend this hotel to couples with younger children and people who are not to fussy about their food.
" Just came back from a week in Salou... "
Submitted By: Miss M B PullenSalou on the whole is a nice place, lots of shopping, and beaches nice and clean. Gets very loud and hectic at night but we had a back room facing the pool area at Oasis Park it was quiet after 12 midnight.
The hotel was nice, very clean, maids came in each day made beds and put clean towels in. The restaurant was nice, food a bit random but plenty to choose from. Entertainment was ok nothing special, but got rained off two nights we were there (had very bad storm). Plenty for the kids has 4 swimming pools, pool tables games room and a small play park.
Port aventura was good, a must do if you have kids. My advice would be to book your tickets online as its quite pricey to pay at the gates. Caribe aquapark is a bit of a con as you pay 19e each on enterance and then they want 7e for lockers 8e for a rubber ring, you can wait at slides and get the free ones anyway and then they want 4e for sunbeds each, what a rip off. Try Aquapolis in La Pineda i heard that one is better.
But a all round fun holiday for all, definatly would go back one year when my little girl is older.

Submitted By: Mrs S DickinsonThe food had excellent choice for everyone and the staff were polite and helpful. Day and evening entertainment was good our kids loved it with loads to do could hardly drag them away at times.
The hotel was really clean and very friendly would recommend it for all age groups. Looking to go back next year but all inclusive.

Submitted By: Ms S JonesThe hotel is probably the best hotel I have stayed in over many years of visiting Spain.
The rooms were kept very clean. Yes, they are small because we had four beds in our room but we spent very little time in there so it wasn't a problem! The maid came in daily to make up beds, empty bins, leave clean towels etc.
The pool area was also very nice. The hotel was full whilst we were there but we never had a problem getting sun beds. There are four pools in total - the main pool. A smaller pool, a shallow children’s pool and a very cold pool with water flowing in! A lifeguard is on duty most of the day.
There is also a poolside bar serving drinks and snacks, a children’s play area and table tennis/pool tables.
There is daily entertainment as well as entertainment every evening on the stage at the side of the pool. The two 'entertainers' work very hard. They had a different show on the stage each evening including a magic show and Spanish dancers.
The restaurant is very nice and the food was excellent. I would say the food is more like 4* standard. We had a lovely Gala Dinner and also a Mexican night. There is always plenty of choice and the staff work very hard, replacing trays with fresh food constantly.
The chef works in the corner cooking fresh steak, chicken, burgers etc each evening. We stayed on an all-inclusive basis. We booked our flights and hotel independently and got a taxi from Reus airport to the hotel. This costs approx 28 euros each way. There is also a bus from the Airport which costs about 11 euros per adult return. We had a fantastic time, we hope you do too!
" Just arrived from a fortnight in... "
Submitted By: Mr A RibeiroThe room was OK, clean but small. The pool area was small too; the big one needed more cleaning. The entertainment was poor, however the animator was very nice and he did what he could with such conditions.
The staff are also very nice, specially Silvia and the maitre of the restaurant.
What was really too bad is that Salou is crowded with English and Dutch youths who drink too much and go in groups through the streets breaking cars and making noise and bullying with people.
Police should be more efficient and pay more attention. The hotel doesn't have a private parking lot and our cars must be parked in the streets nearby and they are vandalized almost every night.
The funny thing is we are sure it was not the Spanish who went around vandalizing the cars and making noise, but those who come from such "civilized" countries like England and Holland, and who don't do those things in their own countries.
We would go back to Oasis Park Hotel if it were closer to the beach and it had a parking lot.
" Went for two weeks, resort itself... "
Submitted By: Mr N GriffithsNothing wrong with the rooms, didn't get a double bed though, for me and my girlfriend. Just two singles pushed together, what can you do though. Hygiene was good.
Food wasn't up to much, some of it was nice, but wasn't enough choice, and same food served up most days. And the restaurant itself was horrible, it was underground and dark and dingy!
Didn't check out the entertainment, not into that sort of thing. Staff were polite and friendly.
Bars and restaurants in Salou are a bit too British for my liking, seeing as you are in Spain.
Would go back to Salou, but not to this Hotel. Salou is great for adults and kids, with plenty to do.
" I have just returned from a 2 week... "
Submitted By: Ms Lyn PonterThe rooms were right next to each other, one room had two double beds pushed together making the room look smaller and the other room that my daughters shared had three single beds, two of them pushed together and the other pushed to the side of the room. The room also had a crack in the wall, plug sockets hanging out the wall and a broken tile on the floor which my youngest cut her foot open on.
Both rooms overlooked the main pool but this was hard to see because of trees. Food in the restaurant was rubbish it was more for the Germans and Spanish than the English, I had 2 burgers and both of them were uncooked in the middle and all my daughters were eating was chips day after day.
The entertainment was rubbish it was more for younger children and after that we just couldn’t stand it so we were always going to the hotel we stayed in before for the entertainment as it was way better. I would recommend this hotel for someone with young children and likes to try new things.

Submitted By: Mrs L McHugh-TuoheyThere were a good mix of nationalities in the hotel - in particular the Irish, English and Dutch were very friendly.
I will give top marks to the bar staff who always served me very quickly and myself and my husband thought they were very friendly . The cleaning staff were excellent and provided lots of clean towels etc. The man who welcomed everyone to the restaurant was really nice and friendly - waiters were also excellent and always very quickly over for our drinks order. Didn't hear much noise but always had a good few vodkas before going to bed so that may have helped. There is a great breakfast place called Chippys quite close to the hotel if you fancy paying for a full Irish breakfast. I have just booked another 10 days in this hotel in September and I am taking my mother.
There were loads of shops in Salou - I have not checked them all out yet but will in September as mother loves bargains.
I shall comment again when I come back in September.

The kids over there were on their holidays and there were a few groups of young Spanish teenagers, and they didn't have any consideration for other guests but they left a couple of days after we arrived.
Overall the staff were ok, the food wasn't too bad just expect the same nearly every night apart from one night a week.
There is lots of seafood but there is a cook making fresh burgers and hot dogs and chops, so if all else fails and you’re not keen on Spanish cuisine, then eat burgers and salad.
The entertainment wasn't that great but at least they provided for the kids. It was nice that there were a few pools, it spaced the people out a little.
The hotel rooms are nice and clean as is the hotel throughout.
The beach was a couple of minutes walk and seemed nice although quite busy.
If you want a cheap fun holiday in a clean and tidy hotel, then this is your place.
I would tell others to try but everyone is different. Hope this helps.
