The room was a little basic, the bathroom was dated and the only wardrobe was behind a curtain. Taking this into consideration the room was cleaned every day and towels were replaced. The surrounding area is beautiful, the swimming pool stayed open until 12 every evening.... more

The room - *** - very basic We had a lovely ground floor room, overlooking the lake. We were ideally located between two swimming pools. The room had 2 double beds, a TV, table, 2 chairs, sink, toilet, shower / bath plus we were unfortunate enough to have a cockroach!!! ... more

A nice hotel, along with nice rooms. The hotel has a lake, which provides a nice walk around it. The staff are very friendly and will happily try to sort out any problems you may encounter. A nice sized swimming pool. Easy to get to and from the Disney parks itself with the... more

CORONADO RULES
We stayed at the Coronado in March and loved it. The whole resort was awesome, loved our room in the Ranchos, the pool is spectacular, great food at the Pepper Market, beautiful grounds and lake, with mouseboats, paddleboats and surrey bikes for rent.Don't listen to the naysayers - I guarantee you will love this resort. I don't understand people that complain about their room because they found a Cheerio under their bed. I have a tip for you - if you find a Cheerio on the floor - THROW IT AWAY! And if you are that unhappy with your room, ask to be moved.
Disgusting room condition! Not up to Disney Standards
I returned from our visit to Coronado Springs on 6/1/03 and I have to say I am extremely disappointed. We were staying in Ranchos (7B--Room 7595, to be exact) The carpet in our room was worn out, the dresser drawer broken, the bathroom sink cracked, the light in the toilet/shower bathroom area did not work and the tub had hideous mold growing in the grout. But I consider myself fortunate as my parents stayed next door and their room smelled like sour milk and had a big stain in front of the window. They notified the front desk and they apparently shampooed it but the odor never entirely disappeared. We also took note of a Cheerio that was under the bed when they arrived and was still there 4 days later when we checked out, even though they supposedly cleaned the room every day! The fitness center costs $15 per day to use so we avoided that--I mean how many times per day do people usually work out? The pool was nice, fun for my 4 year old. The Pepper Market was overpriced and the food quality was poor to average. I have stayed at many Disney Resorts, including Port Orleans French Quarter and Carribean Beach and this was the first time I have been disappointed. NO WAY would I go there again and NO WAY would I recommend it to anyone else.
Nice, but not great
We stayed at Coronado Springs from May 4 - May 8. Had a really great location for a room (Cabanas 8b). We were right outside the pool area and overlooked the lake. We were also really close to the bus stop. Rooms were neat and clean but a little small. Since we weren't in the room too much, this wasn't a problem. Buses seemed to run every 15 to 20 minutes and never had to wait too long for the bus. Pepper Market was a little confusing. Make sure you get a ticket when you enter (even if you are only "just looking") or you will be chased down (rather rudely) by the lady at the front desk. If you have preschoolers, I do not recommend the pool for them. The shallowest portion of the pool is 3 feet 6 inches which was above the heads of my twins (age 5). Even though the pool does provide life jackets, they are difficult to obtain during the busiest part of the day. The baby pool (if you can call it that) only has about 6 inches of water and a water fountain in the middle of it which did not provide a lot of enjoyment to my 5 year olds. My twins did love the water slide (which they could use as long as they had life jackets) and the dig site (swings and sand were a big hit). We did have a good time and the resort was nice. However, I don't think this would be my first choice of resorts if we returned to WDW.
Clean, nice, good value
We stayed in the Ranchos building. The entire property and the room were very clean and satisfactory, scenery is great as well. However, Ranchos is about 10-15 minute walk to the food court; it's no problem if you don't plan on eating at the hotel since there are Disney bus stops every few buildings. The food court has decent food. Loved the breakfast waffles. Everything else is a 5-7 on a scale of 10. Overall, the hotel is a good value. We bought a Southwest vacation pkg and got the room for about $100 night in May 2003.
Thanks!
it was AWESOME! my family and I enjoyed it so much! we cant wait to go back next year!! thanx Coronado for making our stay in Orlando great!!
Loved the Resort- Stay out of the Maya Grill
This was our first trip to Disney with our children ages 7 and 3. We loved the resort. Sure, we had to walk a lot, but my husband and I are both into exercising so we loved it. The pool was great. We spent most of one day at the resort riding the peddle boats and swimming at the Dig Site. The only let down for the whole trip was the Maya grill. The service was terrible, as were the drinks and food. My daughter couldn't even chew her steak. My filet mignon was full of fat. They served my husbands martini with no olives (twice!). It was like they didn't know what they were doing. Definitiely don't take your kids there. The childrens menu contains only adult food. But other than that, we had a great trip. I would stay there again.
Not all its cracked up to be......
Stayed there for a week in June. Pretty grounds, lots of pools, good service but not a place to conduct business. Rooms are small, not comfortable and quality of the room furnishings is poor for a 4 star hotel. Very isolated. Be prepared to do a lot of walking just to get to the main building. That can be a pain if you need somethng from the gift shop later in the evening. Very expensive. Do your self a favor if you are there for more than two days rent a car. Great for kids or romantic couples. For the money they charge you expect a lot more. Have a magical Disney Day!
BEAUTIFUL
The resort was beautiful and the rooms were very clean. You do have a walk to the food court. One thing I would suggust is a food court on the other side of lake for breakfast the walk to to long in the morning to get coffee and etc. My husband and I enjoyed the place and the beauty
Beautiful Grounds / Tiny Room
My family and I stayed at the Coronado June 2002. On arrival we were very impressed with the lobby and rest of the main building. The grounds are stunning. However, with my wife and two children we found the room itself to be very small. The bathroom sink at the end of the room is the first thing you see when you walk in. No refrigerator which I've come to see as a standard in most hotels. Food very expensive. Pretty, but wouldn't stay there again, though the kids loved the pool.
Nice Resort, Great Staff
We live in Florida and are Season Pass holders, so we get to Disney about 4+ times a year. The Pass holder discounts on the Disney Resorts is great and make the Coronado a terrific value. This was our second stay at this hotel and it was just as pleasurable as the first. The resort was very clean and provided a lot of the same amenities as Disney's premium resorts, complete with a themed swimming pool. The Pepper Market is a great convenience, as it allows a wide variety of cuisine ranging from American, to Italian, to Mexican in a food court setting. There is even a selection of vegetarian dishes. This is a great feature, especially when a family can't agree on what to have for dinner. Now everyone can have what they want. Most of the meals are prepared fresh, right when your order is placed. Breakfast and Lunch are also served. If you plan to stay at the resort a few days, purchase a resort cup in the restaurant. It seems like a lot of money, but it allows you free drinks during your entire stay. As with all the Disney resorts, the staff are extremely pleasant and helpful.
