Hawthorn Suites

I just returned from a seven day trip to Florida and stayed at the Hawthorn Suites Lake Buena Vista. I did lots of research before I booked this one and just had a good feeling about it from the start. I checked the reviews that were on tripadvisor a few times before making my final decision and the ratings and comments were on the money. Not bad for the money. Be sure you get an Orlando Magic Card...it will save you money. We had a room quote for $129.00 per night but with Magic Card we got the room for $99.00 a night. This hotel was worth $99.00 per night. The first room we had, the air conditioner was broken, we were freezing to death...can you believe that we were freezing in July! We stayed at the Hawthorn Suites Oct 02 and had a Great time, we would definitely return again, it is in lovely surroundings when you think that in a couple of minutes you can be in the hustle of the traffic. Great free breakfast every morning plenty to choose from. Room cleaned every day. I was a little surprised there was no bar but it didn't spoil anything as we just called at the local store and relaxed by the pool each evening with a drink arranging the next days events.

We've just returned from the Hawthorne Suites LBV, and I can only say that the staff, accomodation, location and the breakfast were 1st class! I must admit I was a little apprehensive after reading those reviews that were not very favourable, but I can only say that we could not fault the property at all. My husband, daughter (14) and her friend (14), found the breakfast superb, and lets face it, it was free. Happy hour was pretty good too, as was the free tea and coffee all day. Rooms were large and clean. Full kitchen was great. Two tv's. Breakfast and afternoon happy hour saved us lots of money. Staff was very hospitable. We will stay here again.

1. I was guaranteed a room with a pool view but it was unavailable at the time I checked in because "The person that was suppose to have checked out, did not". 2. Breakfast consisted of watery eggs, water for juice, stale bread and cold potato tots. 3. Main lobby bathroom appeared to have not been cleaned and had urine on the floor and feces on in all the stools. 4. Definite language barrier with hotel front desk and basically all employees. 5. My husband and I just returned from Orlando with our 3 & 1/2 year old daughter. We were there from 19April thru 22April. Check in and out was quick and easy. Breakfast was great and FREE, the days we were there they offered ommelettes, tator tots, and sausage. Cereal, oatmeal, fruit, bagels and muffins were also available. Happy hour is great, free beer and wine to help relax after a long day. Pool was a little small, but we spent more time at the parks. I did a lot of research before we chose this one. Overall, we were very happy with this place. Hotel is located on street of hotels and restaurants, away from busy highway and abt 3 minutes from Downtown Disney. The rooms were large, well laid out, modern and very comfortable. The lobby is beautiful, great front desk staff. Breakfast is also excellent - esp considering it is incl in price. We took Disney shuttle a few times and found it pefect. My wife and I spent 6 days in early March 2004. Certain things we appreciated...others... I reserved a queen non-smoking suite 4 months in advance, but on arrival at 9:45 in the evening after 2 long days of driving they only had king non-smoking or queen smoking. The front desk staff didn't seem very well versed in using the computer system and their attitude was that we were guaranteed a room but room type was a non-guaranteed special request.
