Right in the middle of Salou, surrounded by bars clubs etc. Constant noise until 0500 every night
Do not go half board, every evening meal tepid at best cold at worst, breakfast ok. Room ok, pools small and hotel desperately needs a make over.
Also boasts the rudest receptionist I have ever seen

My husband and I took our 7 year old daughter to this hotel and it was such a let down. We didn't check any reviews until AFTER we booked it (not our smartest move) and were shocked by the awful reviews. But still we told ourselves "it's what u make it" etc etc.
Well it isn't lol.
We were 5 floors up above the pool - and even then you couldn't sleep at night for the noise of pubs, clubs and drunks. And just as they started to close it was time for the bin lorries to empty the bottle banks.
The hotel was very basic, the food was rubbish and the entertainment wasn't overly inspired. Not a lot of entertainment for the kids - an hour or so of the same songs and games every night.
Salou is busy and smelly and not for holidaymakers looking for a relaxing break!! We dreaded even leaving the hotel and spent most of our time at the hotel pool. The pool was ok but it was guaranteed that at some point during the day it would be bombarded with older spanish males carrying on, playing ball games and shoving each other in (with no concern for the little ones in the pool).
Staff were pleasant enough but that's the nicest thing i can say about the whole holiday.
- Advice: Don't go. Unless u are 18 years old and looking to party non stop! lol

The Htel Angeles was clean was comfortable if your only sleeping there. Maid was in every day varied times may i add. Entertainment was good at times but kids club they dont have satellite tv they dont have even though they advertise this. The food was good breakfast a little on the predictable side. Staff at resturant where nice always said hello to my boys. If you have under fives forget it there is nothing you have a mini disco if you can call it that at9.30. Face painting at 10.00pm what a time they advertise a lot but i never saw any of it. This is a spanish hotel there are a lot of spanish there they will get prefference over you even when you book all inclusive. A couple we met where told exactly that. Salou is nice enough but we where pestered on every corner about going to this pub eat at this resturant. We collected some amount of leaflets they where even coming up to you when you where going into your hotel. One of them was arrgoant and drunk now i get to the drugs we where offered evey night. These people where everywhere night and day asking you if you wanted to buy any. I saw a few people buy from them. The spanish people ther where arrogant they would knock you down as soon as look at you they are also rude. Cap it all if you want a friendly welcome dont expect it the reception staff are just as arrogant and walk away from you as if your a second class citizen. Salou has its good bits but i feel it has a lot of bad bits aswell. The hotel if you are at the front has no views your right above any enterainment and several bars accroos the road. You want friendlyn child enterainment no go just dont go

Came back this afternoon from the holiday from hell!! Spent two weeks n Los angeles with beautiful sunshine and ignorant spanish! Few staff spoke very little english, childrens entertainment didnt start until gone 9.30 pm with the same spanish songs for both children and adults being played most evenngs. What parent wants their child being face painted at 10.30 in the night! Even though the cleaners done a good job the noise they made moving beds etc was horrendous to go with the party goers at 5 am in the morning! The same food was provided every evening with dry bread and raw cooked meat being offered and if you want AQUA - WATER with your meal it is 1.90 COS IT DOESNT COME FREE as courtesy! oh but ladies did receive a red rose one evening! Very dissapointing holiday with small balconys and poky little rooms. I would stronlg advise no british person to go there and certainly wouldnt recommend this place to families - no lifeguard or security around the pool, nothing to stop children drowning if parents want to relax outside where the spanish entertainment takes place! Dissapointing is asmall polite word being used and the rep from thomas cook was rarely to be seen. air conditioning very poor, no kettle, fridge etc provided only baskets at the end of each till for tips to be left. PLEASE LISTEN AND AVOID GOING TO AVOID DISSAPOINTMENT!

Having just returned from my holiday in Salou I would like to let you know about our stay in the hotel, Best Los Angeles.
We were put in Room 6004 in Los Angeles B block which was on the 6th floor. The lift only goes to the 5th floor. Two narrow flights of stairs then had to be negotiated with our cases which put us on the roof of the hotel. Looking like an architecural after-thought were 5 rooms perched on the roof. The room smelt damp and of sewage as we opened the front door, which did clear after the balcony door was opened and allowed to air. We were unable to locate the cause of the smell which got worse the longer the room was locked up and was evident throughout our stay. The room was otherwise clean and tidy but very small, with two single beds and a bed settee which gave you less than 12” to walk between, hardly room to swing a cat.
The main problem with the room/hotel became evident during the night. The noise was terrible. Across the road from the hotel are not one but two nightclubs and a bar, the noise from which is unbearable all through the night until well after the 5am they close. Shortly after that the hotels refuse collections start and all this noise sounds like it is happening in the next room. As you can imagine we got no sleep at all for the first couple of nights. The noise problem from within the hotel itself was just as bad. We could hear every word spoken in the adjacent rooms (either side and below) and we could even hear our neighbours go to the toilet which is really most unpleasant. Opening and closing of all doors (front, balcony and sliding wardrobe) could all be heard from several rooms away. The beds were metal framed and when moved against the tiled floors also made a horrendous noise which was particularly annoying especially once the maids started remaking beds at 8am. Finally turning on the taps sounded like an express train running through the room.
The room was very hot at night (28-30C) and also made sleep very difficult. The room did contain an Air Conditioning Unit which actually worked and on the third night we found that by running the ACU we could block out most of the external noise and get some sleep. However the ACU eventually made the room too cold and we had to switch it off and we were back to square one, this did though give us some respite from the noise.
On the morning of Sat. 19th Sept. the ACU stopped working. Upon enquiring with the hotels reception we were told that the ACU system for the whole hotel had been switched off as it was the end of their season. A statement which quite frankly astounded us – the hotel was still full and the day before we had seen a temperature of 30C whilst we were in Barcelona. Surely such an action cannot be based on a date but on room usage and weather conditions. We were gobsmacked. We had 4 nights left in the hotel and unsurprising they were fairly sleepless. The reception staff pointed the finger at our tour operator for not informing us about the air conditioning being switched off. But neither did they mention it when they issued us with a key for the ACU when we booked in the previous week.
The hotel also appeared to be managerless as for three mornings on the trot (Sun. 20th, Mon. 21st and Tues. 2nd) I was not able to see a manager to air my complaints. I’m sure this was not true and was just a ploy by the reception staff to keep me away from the manager.
Without doubt this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
This hotel is ideal for the club loving youngsters as they will be the ones out making the noise all night but for anyone that actually wants to sleep in their rooms at night, FORGET IT!.

I've just returned from a holiday in Salou with my daughter & two grandchildren aged 5 & 7
The food wasn't as bad a described but very bland, chips every night & hardly any local dishes.
I asked for a quiet room which was still opposite three bars & a nightclub, the noise was deafening we didn't get to sleep until between 4 & 6 each morning
The beds were made each day, you had to ask each time you wanted clean towels but the rooms were not cleaned & by the end of our stay we had cobwebs hanging from the ceiling & an inch of dust on our dressing table.
They had a kids disco each night from 9 till 9.25 which the children enjoyed & then very third rate acts to entertain us every other night for about 30 to 45 minutes in between times you had to put up with CD's of Glen Miller & Bill Haley
To top things off on the last Friday of our holiday one of the other guest noticed a couple who none of us had seen before & that were not guest at the hotel acting very suspiciously.
On further inspection someone noticed they were taking photographs of the children from under the table.
When approach the woman ran away but the man was restrained by guests.
He explained he was taking photos of little blonde girls as they reminded him of his grand daughter, the police were called & they asked the woman to return with the camera.
Two hours later she returned with no photos of children on her camera saying we were all stupid idoits
We all asked the following questions,
Why run in the first place?
Why take two hours to return?
Why did her partner admit to photographing children?
The police said they had no evidence so they couldn't act, she walked away laughing & blowing kisses to the worried parents
In short if you only need a couple of hours sleep each night, would like to each chips every day of two weeks & don't mind having your children photographed by total strangers then the Los Angeles in the one for you

I have to say i would deffinitely stay at this hotel again..
I disagree with people who have said the food was awful.. i believe that there was something for everybody even if you're a fussy eater.. there was always pasta, potatoes, meat and other things..
I went with 2 of my girlfriends and we instantly made friends with the hotel entertainer (Anthony).. throughout the day there were games on in the pool such as water polo.. and at night there was also a mini disco and other entertainment for the adults.
The hotel is in a fantastic location right outside 3 bars - Idols kareoke bar, Christy's irish bar and Charlie Chaplins.. our fav was Christy's as there was a live band on every night and people were always up dancing..
We paid 8 euros in a taxi to Portaventura which is about a 5 minute drive away.. it is a fantastic theme park, would deffinitely recommend it!!
On the whole I would recommend this hotel!!

I have just stayed at Los Angeles Hotel with 2 of my close friends. We didn't find it quie as bad as what other people have reviewed it to be.
Some of the staff would benefit from putting a smile on their faces from time to time. Although a few (Christopher, Anthony, Frankie... and others) were really friendly. Also, the cleaners were really lovely, and did their job well.
The food was okay. Could have been better... but for me it was good. I am not too fussed over what i eat, so pasta, potatoes, and meat suited me fine. Some nights the food was really good. It just depends on how fussy you are over what you eat.
The actual hotel was nice. We didn't expect much from a 3 star hotel in the first place. It is basic, but it suited us fine. The rooms were good, and (although not the usual preference in views) we really liked the fact we looked over the bars on the street of which the Los Angeles is on.
We really liked Christy's Irish Bar, and if you go their look out for a guy called stephen (aka Neg, as we liked to call him) cause he's a total legend. The Ski Hut was good for entertainment, and if you go there, look out for Stuart, aka Vinny ("I know loads of Stuarts' - and they're all gay!" - funny guy). Chaplins was good and Idols was okay. We preferred staying on the street across from the hotel.
The beach is only 2-5 mins away. The Spar is about 2 mins away. Port Aventura is about 5 mins in a taxi, and when we went the price ranged from 5-9 euros one way. Reus Airport is about 15-20 mins.
And plus, the weather was nice =]

I stayed at the Best Los Angeles Hotel in June with three girlfriends and have to agree with many of the reviews I read on here.
The food is as awful as described, my chicken burger (cooked in front of me by the chef) was raw as were the pancakes provided at breakfast. I did not find the rest of the food satisfactory as it was bland and there was not much choice.
The reception staff were unfriendly but I did not find this much of a problem as we rarely interacted with them.
The location of the hotel was excellent as we were a few minutes walk away from the shop and further down was the beach.
The walls were extremely thin so you can hear everything outside in the corridor and the rooms next door.
Salou itself is a great holiday place but I definitely wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

we arrived at this hotel not our choice as we booked with 2 can travel part of the medinland group, as the hotel we booked in feb 08 did not have any details of our reservation !!!!!! so we were told this was a better hotel and more suitable, how wrong were they................ myself and my partner ages 39 & 46 could not have been more disatisfied. we were all inclusive this is not an all inc hotel everyone who stays there stay half board, and in the 8 days we were there, we saw only a handful of british stay, the food was very repetative daily the staff were very friendly, the hotel was full of spanish oap"s and the entertainment was all for them and no one else. do not go there this is not for british looking for a relaxing fun hols and dont take kids there is nothing for them to do at any time of the day...... even though travel agents recommend this for families. very disapointing

I went to the Best Hotels Los angeles with a school trip and it does not deserve the name!!
When we got there late to book in,our rooms werent ready and wen we eventually got in it looked like the extra time waiting to get in didnt make a difference!
The rooms are ok if u are just sleeping and getting ready in. The wardrobe is good which is always important to a girl and the bathroom was clean and well supplied for.
The low points were the food and the location! The food was the same every night with the occasional burger. One of my friends got sick after the first nite and the dinner was susspected!! When we got to bed we were drifting off and then the rowdy drunks came out of the bar, shouting and singing!
Go to this hotel if ur not spending a lot of time there and are a heavy sleeper!!
