Me and my boyfriend have just returned from Salou and we stayed in the Los Angeles Hotel. The location of the hotel is brilliant. It is right in the centre of all the nightlife and shops.
The beach is also a 5minute walk away. The rooms were quite big with a decent size balcony and air conditioning. However there was a lot of noise coming from the bars opposite which don’t close until 5am! This kept us awake most nights.
The food in the hotel we found was not very nice at all. However there was a selection to choose from, but unless you live off salad then the only other thing that we could identify off the menu every night was chips and pasta! By the end of the 2 week stay we were sick to death off eating chips. We found that we preferred to eat out in the local restaurants quite often because they had a better variety of English dishes.
Overall, I think we would return to this hotel for its location but would not want to eat our meals in there because every night we were disappointed with the food.

Just a quick note for anyone who has booked this hotel and are worried about some of the comments. Our party (3 Adults and 2 children) arrived at the hotel concerned about some of the reviews we had read on the internet, we were dropped off outside the hotel and greeted by reception staff we were in our rooms pretty quickly, the rooms were quite basic but clean and tidy especially the bathroom area.
We had arrived on a half board basis but upgraded to all inclusive the first night. The pool is quite small but there is two pools and two spa's the good news is its locked until 9.00a.m. so no getting up at the crack of dawn to put out towels. The hotel staff were very nice and polite at all times, we had no complaints on any of the staff or any of the facilities in the hotel.
The best part of the hotel as to be the restaurant, the service, food quality and choice is at a high level with the choice of salads, pasta, burgers, kebabs, cooked meat, vegetables, Indian dishes and a chef on hand to cook a variety of dishes for you. The mini disco and entertainment on a night time were very good with something new on every night.
The only thing I could say in criticism was the number of sun beds could do with increasing. I would definitely recommend this hotel and Salou is a lovely lively place too.

The hotel was the pits, trust me you don’t want to stay in this hotel. Our family stayed for 2 weeks and I don’t think one bar staff smiled the whole time.
Every member of the staff were grumpy. It had a bad lay out wit very few sunbeds and a very small pool. Had a big lounge but was very open. The resorts itself was nice, it has a marina which is nice to walk to. Night life was average with about 5 or 6 clubs, and lots of bars. Quite nice pizzerias. The strip has some great souvenirs.
Salou has a nice beach but by the end of the day its rather dirty, p.s. Its worth getting up early to watch the sun rise.

Staying at this hotel was good, the food was great the group of us that went are very picky when we eat and booking a holiday can be hard because of this. The bar was adequate for what the group drank and the staff were really friendly and helpful. All the people we came across were also helpful and friendly. But if you are not finding that the food is what you like there is a lovely little cafe just round the corner best sausage sarnies round.
There is only problems with this hotel is that cleaner will take clothes out of your room if they have the tags still on them as myself and my mother and other guests in the hotel had clothing taking, even from their suitcases and the similarities of these were they all had the tags left on, i had a top taken worth about £5 taken when a very expensive jacket was left this was the same for a guest in the next room.
The bars across from the hotel do not make that much noise as there were a few nights were the group had a early night and this did not effect them neither did the hotel entertainment which was straight outside our rooms as this was finished for about midnight and not that much noise anyway but it can be a little annoying joining in as the hotel has 4 different nationalities staying in it can karaoke can b annoying with the songs and playing some of the games can be difficult as you have to wait until English speaking instruction are told. But the games are funny.
Taking trips away was made easy by the hotel and by the rep, they talked you through all the choices and explained what was suitable for what age group and personality. In the main reception of the hotel is a board with that weeks activities on, take a trip to the local market it is in walking distance but a local bus stops just round the corner from both the hotel and the market. Also visiting the beach was easy as the two main beaches are in about a 10 min walking diatcne and its mainly all flat to which is a plus when you are wearing heels on a night out. Taking a trip to Barcelona is great especially the night time trip were you get to see the fountions dancing to the music.
Would recommend this holiday to anyone and would go again just take any tags off me clothes in case it happens again.

This was a last minute booking...well 4 weeks before going.
Excellent value.
Staff friendly and helpful, rooms cleaned daily and fresh towels too.
Good choice of food.
Not too far to walk to the beach, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants close by hotel.
I'd go back tomorrow if I could.

My girlfriend and myself have just returned from a week away in Salou where we stayed at the “Best Los Angeles” hotel.
I feel I should write this review in hope that it would be useful to others in future as I used this site previous to check out the status of the hotel. I booked a cheap holiday because I needed some time away and took the cheapest deal. When I got the paperwork through it stated I was staying at the “Best Los Angeles” hotel so decided to do some research and find out what it was like. I used this website and was horrified when I read the review from June 2005 by Mrs K Smart.
Anyway, we got to the hotel and had no problems checking in. The hotel uses a key card system for the rooms instead of keys, which is ideal if you’re carrying a wallet as the card can sit right in. The room itself was very spacious with a balcony and ensuite bathroom. There is also a TV in the room although it is mainly programmed to Spanish channels (except CNN). The air conditioning is fantastic!!! The only bad point about the room was that there was only 1 plug socket which was occupied by the TV so when using hairdryers, stereos, hair straightners etc then it can be quite difficult, I would recommend taking an adaptor to allow for you to have more electrical equipment plugged in. There are also no facilities to make yourself a cup of tea or coffee in your room. The room was cleaned daily and we were given fresh towels so there was no complaints with that.
The food at the hotel was brilliant, I would say it’s the best I’ve ever had whilst being abroad. For breakfast, there’s the usual variety that you get in Spain but there’s also a chef who will fry your eggs especially for you and he also makes pancakes every morning. On an evening the food was always different but always very nice!
The staff at the hotel were fantastic, they made us feel welcome and were very helpful whenever we required anything. Every member of staff we approached could speak English and understood what we were saying.
The main thing about the hotel that I didn’t like was the pool area. It is very small and doesn’t attract that much sunlight so we found it easier to go to the beach, which is only a 5-10 minute walk. There is also some noise on an evening as there are a couple of bars over the road but as we were up late then this didn’t affect us in any way. I would also point out that you can hear a lot of noise in your room from around other parts of the hotel which I suppose if you go to bed early then this could be annoying! But like I said, for my girlfriend and I, this wasn’t a problem.
The resort of Salou is nice, the weather was great and there was plenty for us to do. We visited Port Aventura which was a really good day out, very enjoyable! There’s also the water park, which is next door. The resort is family orientated so there wasn’t as much for us as a couple to do on an evening, there were too many kids for our liking!!! There’s also lots of people handing out flyers for the various bars and nightclubs.
Overall we had a brilliant time, the hotel was great for us and we had a great time at the resort. I would say that Salou is more of a family or group holiday rather than for couples but I would definitely go again in the future and I would recommend the “Best Los Angeles” hotel.

What a fantastic holiday, at a fantastic hotel. Have travelled quite a bit over the past 7 years, but this holiday exceeded all my hopes. Travelled with my wife and 2 children (the kids are 9 and 11), and was delighted with what we got. Family friendly.
The room was spacious, air conditioned, and had a good-sized balcony, overlooking the pool, and stage for the nights entertainment. A kiddies club kept the youngsters happy, and plenty of good bars and clubs were within easy reach (many of which catered for families): I would strongly recommend The Rio Grande pub, The Happy Drinker, and Uncle Sam’s diner in particular.
The food was served buffet style, and was both varied, and delicious; believe me...I have a picky daughter who has never eaten as well when we have travelled before: anyone with a healthy appetite will be delighted to hear that you can eat as much as you wish. Vegetarians were also well catered for. The room had a safe, and was excellently maintained by the very helpful cleaning staff. The staff in general were wonderful, and many spoke English. Our room was cleaned daily, and NOT in a cursory manner; every nook and cranny was cleaned thoroughly. Overall, the housekeeping was A1.
The beaches were within easy walking distance, although the general topography of this region is hilly. Oh, and due to the narrow street the hotel is in, we had to haul our luggage about 200 yards....but it tells you that in the brochure, so I am not about to make any kind of deal out of that!! The local booze (lager was Mahou and Damm) was very drinkable, as were the Spanish wines. The holiday
was great, and I was only sorry that the fortnight went so fast. Not only would I return to Salou again, but I would go back to the Los Angeles if this is the norm. A fantastic holiday that I may have overlooked had I read some of the whingers comments I read prior to booking. Yeah, it's lively, but if you want to have a quick foxtrot, and off to bed with a Horlicks at 9.30pm, stay in Bournemouth grandma! I'd give this one maximum points.

What a great holiday at this wonderful hotel. The fortnight went too quickly.
The accommodation was spacious enough for our family of 4, and there was a good balcony, and the room had its own safe, so security wasn’t a problem.
The room was also air-conditioned, which was a godsend as it was 30 odd degrees some days. The house keeping was wonderful with a thorough cleaning, and fresh towels daily. There were 2 pools and a small children’s pool, plus a Jacuzzi. I thought my kids might have developed gills before we left.
There was a fantastic selection of international cuisine served every evening in the buffet-style dining room, and this changed daily. All the food was well cooked and prepared, and very tasty; my daughter is a fussy eater, and I have never had her eat so well on holiday! There was a full English breakfast available daily between 8 and 10am, and tea and coffee, or juice was freely available. The staff were most polite and happy to help, and most of them spoke good English.
The nearest beach was around 5 minutes away, and were brilliantly maintained. They were awarded the Blue Flag award recently. The further of the two sandy beaches stretches on for miles. Fantastic.
There was good entertainment nightly, and a great selection of pubs, bars and eateries within minutes of the hotel. Try the Rio Grande pub, The Happy Drinker (near the beach), and Uncle Sams Diner. The local beers and wine sold at the hotel were all good, and better still in the happy hour when you get 2 for the price of one (8.30-10pm.) There was also a Spar supermarket (yeah, a Spar!) about 3/4 minutes down the road. There are plenty of street markets and shops.
The hotel was very good for families, and in a quite lively area, with many surrounding bars, and other hotels. If you like a slow waltz and be in bed by 8.30, it perhaps isn't going to be your cup of tea. But, not only would I return to Salou, but to the Hotel Los Angeles.

It was the worst hotel and place we have been to for years. It started when we got dropped off, we got of the coach as what we thought was our hotel, we were then told we had to walk round the corner up a small hill to our hotel, so we did breaking our cases as the road was all smashed up.
We eventually got there, the hotel staff were useless didn’t understand us so it took ages to book in. Went to our rooms which were the most scruffiest, dirtiest, tackiest box we had seen, no plug sockets nothing to make a brew, don’t bother going to the bar if you arrive at night you wont get a coffee or tea only make it in the day. The lifts never work, air conditioning never works infact nothing ever works ,and don’t bother complaining they don’t understand and they can’t be bothered to fix anything.
The entertainment is crap, you’re supposed to get happy hour only if you’re not English. The pools are too small, if three people got in the pool would be full. The large beach which is about half an hour’s walk from the hotel is lovely but don’t go to the small one it’s hanging.
The food at the hotel I would not give to my dog, all full of garlic, the meat in the sauces was off all the time, flies all over the food laying eggs, oh they do a fried egg wow, disgusting. There were eleven of us in our group ages from 15 to 42 try to find a decent bar no chance only if you want to eat out every night, the place has lots of clubs if that’s what you want, but we do like other things aswell. I would never go there in a million years the place is to dirty not enough entertainment and full of shops over priced selling rubbish

We were in the Los Angeles with our two children, check in was really fast, reception staff were pleasant enough, the room was clean when we arrived, and the maid cleaned the room every day and left fresh towels daily.
The restaurant staff were nice and friendly, the breakfast was a bit cold but the evening meals well you just couldn’t complain there was so much to choose from, the entertainment was good when we stayed in the hotel at night but we like to go out and about in Salou, there is plenty of cafes, restaurants, bars and clubs to choose from something to suit everyone.
We really enjoyed the theme park in Salou it is again fantastic for the whole family well worth visiting, I would also like to comment on the Thomas cook reps(Vicky and Gareth) they were very friendly and made you fell welcome, were always there when you needed them or only a phone call away.
We enjoyed it that much we have booked up to go again next year and we hope we have as good a time as we had previously.

Did not enjoy this holiday at all, have never been so glad to go home from a holiday.
The room was tiny and not very clean. They never changed our bed the whole time we were there and we had to beg for clean towels.
My husband and I went all inclusive so we would not have to worry about spending money on food but in the end, we had to eat out all the time as the food in the hotel was so rubbish, it was cold and the selection was bad the only thing edible were the chips so I hate to think how much weight I gained during my stay.
The only good thing I could say about the hotel was the location as it is close to the town.
The swimming pool is about the same size as a bath tub and there are hardly any sun beds.
DO NOT STAY HERE!
