This place desperately needs a refurb. The 2 points are for the pool because you could always get a sun lounger and the fact that it gave you a reason not to have to spend a moment longer in rooms, which were dirty, not maintained and had a cockroach issue. After much... more

would never go back
In the resort it smells misty/nasty bathroom lookes like it has never been cleaned with bleach !!and in the closet guess what a heater!!! With a 16 month old not very safe!!Only one bed in these rooms ... And the sofa bed was like springs .The ""FREE" B/FAST the food was hard as a rock.. Both days !!! Location nice Remodeling a must and new house keeping recommended .. But u get the newspaper everyday.. Buy it and save your money . 10-14-2003
Did not feel safe here
Our son's car was broken into overnight while parked in the hotel lot directly under a light immediately in front of the building. The car alarm went off but nobody heard or saw a thing. When we discovered the damage in the morning the inside of the car was soaked from the overnight rain. We never saw or spoke to any security personnel. Hotel staff members were not helpful and a letter to the manager about what happened was not answered.
Did not have the best of experiences
The seems to be some highly varied opinions about this hotel! I have just read through the good reports and the common theme seems to be that they were in the 2 bed apartments. Howeverr, I was in a studio with a proper bed and a sofa bed. I booked a one bedroom for one week in August. I actually stayed one night (and moved down the road to the Wyndham for the other 6 nights which was great). Problem 1: requested non smoking room, got a smoking room which absolutely stunk of smoke. We moved for 1 night to one of their older rooms with the promise of move to a better room the next day. This was a bit musty, probably as it hadn't been used for a while, and reasonably clean. Problem 2: Woke up in the night to find what looked like a cockroach roaming around the bathroom, wandering over our toiletries and toothbrushes. Yuk! That was the last straw, we got Virgin Holidays to move us. So, looks like a place to love or hate. By all meams go but look very carefully at your room: you might be lucky or you might have a nightmare.
Couldn't have asked for anything better...
Just got back from Orlando on Monday morning and we were staying in the Enclave Suites for the two weeks we were there. There was four of us, myself, my boyfriend, his brother and his brothers girlfriend. ages 24 - 30.I was very, very worried about going here after reading all the bad reviews of this hotel posted in the past, however, I needn't have worried myself for nine months!! The apartment we were staying in was in excellent condition and I was very very impressed with them. It was the best accomodation I have been in on any holiday. We stayed in a two bedroomed apartment and both rooms had en-suite bathrooms which made life easy for the four of us! The apartment was made up of a sitting area which had a kitchen area next to it. The kitchen had a microwave, a fridge, freezer, toaster, two ringed cooker, dishwasher, blender and coffee maker. The sitting area had a square dining table with four chairs, a sofa, a chair with a foot rest underneath, a coffee table and a large television with remote control. The blacony was accessed from the sitting area. Both bedrooms also had televisions with remote controls. Not that you will watch too much tv (although we found it good at night if we went out for a meal and wanted to just go back to the apt and relax there is usually a decent movie on). There are two large outdoor swimming pools. Each has a baby pool and a seperate jacuzzi pool. There are sun loungers there which are free of charge, although not the most comfortable to lie on.The Enclave is a two minute walk from International Drive, a five minute drive from Universal Studios and roughly a fiftenn to twenty minute drive to Disney. Wet and Wild could be seen from our balconly however it was not outrageously loud (I read somewhere that someone couldn't sleep etc with the noise! - they must have very sensitive hearing). The Encalve is central for everything. All the staff were extremely nice and helpful etc. The maid came every day to clean up, provide you with clean towels and either put your dishes in the dish washer or empty the dishwasher and put all the dishes away for you.We initially wanted to book a vila for Florida however, after staying at the Enclave Suites I certainly wouldn't want to stay in a villa and would be dissappointed if I didn't get the Enclave Suites again. When we were in reception we noticed that the in 2001-2002 the Enclave Suites won awards from two well known tour operators for their Customer Service and high standards etc.So if you are going to the Enclave Suites for your holiday don't worry...look forward to it you are going to be staying in excellent accomodation and you are going to have a wonderful holiday!
No problem!
Well, I was very hesitant when I read the reviews listed on this site. I had booked the hotel way in advance with the Orlando Magic Savings Card and had a great rate and did not want to cancel. To my surprise, I was very pleased when I arrived at our deluxe studio which had a nice pool view. Yes, the furniture was a bit old but the hotel served its purpose. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The hotel location is very convenient and around the corner from International Drive (main strip in Orlando). I don't know what issues other people were having at this hotel but I beg to differ. I had a pleasant experience and would do it again. We barely spent time in the room anyway, there was so much to do everyday.
Good Clean Hotel
I am Just Back ( Sep 1st) I thought the hotel was very clean, slightly old furniture and fittings but all working, The beds were terribly saggy. The first room - double bed with pullout was very small so we upgraded and it was definately worth $30 per night. The Breakfast was great value at $3.99 for gallons of OJ and Coffee. The Pool was fine. However the biggest drawback was no bar facility whatever in the complex, this turned out fine however as the excellent TGI Friday's is across the road. The shop assistants are very friendly (Man & Wife). Parking is no problem. would definately return.
Good Stay!
My family and I have just returned home from 2 weeks staying at the Enclave (August 2003). I was really concerned before we arrived following some of the reviews I'd read. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised. We'd stayed in a 2 bed apartment which although would have been too small for 6, was fine for 4. The dishwasher didn't work but someone did come out to look at it within minutes of our request (never actually fixed it though!). Personally, not a fan of dishwashers so it wasn't a problem! Apartment was clean, had a daily newspaper delivered to the door and a very minimal (but free!) breakfast. It was very convenient having Pizza Hut and the small shop open until midnight. Overall, the staff were very polite and helpful and we would consider staying at the Enclave again (although we wouldn't pay the price charged from UK tour operators for it). Pools and the surrounding areas were well maintained. The location of the Suites was excellent - 2 minutes walk away from International Drive. Overall, had a good stay and fantastic holiday (but took the wet Welsh weather with us!)
OK for the $
I expected the worst from the reviews, but was already booked. Yes, the rooms were small, but it didn't really matter. You should be out and about in Disney, not in the room. Appliances old, but worked. Everything clean and kept clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of extra towels and pillows when asked for. Handyman sent in 5 minutes for broken shower head which was simply me not knowing how to work it. Yes, beds could be better. There are two large pools outdoors, don't know why someone could only find one. The lake shouldn't be advertised since its not theirs and guests can't use it. I only paid $109 for the 2bdrm, 2 bath (used Entertainment Book) and couldn't expect more. Breakfast laughable, but plenty of inexpensive options in the area. You do have a kitchen and its easy to make eggs and have cereal to save $. Night noise, but got back too late and too tired to care. - Aug '03 Visitor
No Problems At all !!!
We returned from Florida yesterday (8/7/03)and had major concerns about this hotel before we left the UK..but i can honestly say we had no problems what so ever with the Enclave Suites. Check-in was quick and friendly..and we went to our room, not knowing what to expect after reading such terrible reviews from here, but when we got there, we were pleasently surprised by our two bedroom/two bathroom suite. We had free local phone calls and free news paper everyday, the maids came in (even on sundays) and cleaned and made the beds, and loaded the dishwasher everyday. The furniture looked brand new, even the carpets looked brand new, and the beds were comfy and clean. The bathrooms were clean and bright, and had everything you would need, they even supplied showergel, lotion, tissues, shampoo etc. The kitchen included a huge fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, small over/grill,cooker top rings..plenty of cupboard space and plenty of crockery/cutlery etc. There was a huge tv in the sitting room, and two big tv's in the bedrooms, which had loads of channels on them, including HBO. (free of charge) Had a couple of concerns (mainly the toilet not flushing) but they sent someone up straight away, like within 10 minutes of phoning guest services. I was impressed!
no problem at all!
stayed at the enclave suites in august 2001 for 2 weeks. good location, clean and was kept to a good standard daily. pool was lovely and warm, never too crowded. the only improvement would be the continental breakfast box, but as it was free why should i complain. would stay here again.
