Hotel is great for the cost, rooms although not large are ample, quiet and clean. Nice to have tean and coffee making facilities also. Staff very friendly, and free internet. Shuttle bus to Universal is good also.
Advice: To go off the beaten track and avoid it

Nice hotel. Nice entrance and lobby, porter and reception staff very helpful. Tourist office to help you book park tickets etc. Shuttle bus to take you to Universal walk in the evening. Lovely room with two comfortable double beds. Airconditioning, television, xbox(extra charge), internet (extra charge), big wardrobes and lovely bathroom. Unfortunately our room didnt have a nice view, just bare land and a building site to the right. A new hotel was being built but it was about 500 metres away, didnt cause us any noise disruption at all, just not a nice view. It is about 500 metres to international drive and across the road from wet n wild where we went twice. We went in september and the area was very quiet at this time. The restaurant and bar at night was pleasant but nearly empty, only about 10 people there, max, and no entertainment. I wouldn't recommend going in September, it rained (very heavily) a few times in the evening and at night and as I say, it was very quiet. We also went to discovery cove and swam with dolphins, had a fantastic day there, although it is expensive it's well worth it.

This year was our third stay at Clarion universal hotel. We stayed 2005 and 2003.ITS BRILL!!! On our arrival this year the staff recognised us from our previous visits and after checking in the porter arrived at our room door with a plate of freshly baked cookies and a note from Jerhusa on the front desk welcoming us back to the Clarion and wishing us a pleasant stay, that’s what I call service and excellent customer care! The hotel is ideally situated on Universal Boulevard close to all the parks and shopping outlets. The rooms at the Clarion are clean and well equipped and the staff are very, very friendly nothing is a problem to them. I would recommend a stay at the Clarion.

I stayed here with my family in August 2004, it is a lovely hotel, nice rooms, very clean hotel with friendly staff, not too far from the main parks, we didn't hire a car, this didn't stop us getting to the attractions because there were courtesy buses laid on by the hotel, nice pool, a couple of shops in the hotel. There is a very nice restaurant with plenty of choice on the menu and service was excellent.
There is a bar although we didn’t go in. I would recommend this hotel, for value, location, nice rooms and friendliness of the staff.

Had an excellent holiday in Orlando, weather was brilliant, although a lot hotter than expected, but that made the holiday even better. The hotel was very good, and the area we stayed in was very good all round. The only criticism was with the Airtours reps at the resort that were not altogether as helpful as we would have expected. Universal parks were wonderful, we did a tour with a staff member and they couldn’t do enough for us. Well recommended! Only Disney Park we had time for was Magic Kingdom and that couldn’t be faulted!

The good point about this hotel:
* Very clean & The staff are very friendly and helpful
* The air conditioning in the hotel is always cool, so when it was very hot outside we could cool down in out room or the hotel lobby
* The rooms have two big double beds as standard, which was a nice surprise
* If you are looking to rent a car, there is a rental company down stairs. We rented a car from them for 8 days & as we were staying in the hotel we got a discount
* The hotel itself is quite, so if you are after somewhere to relax then this is your place.
* There was an ironing board, iron and a hair dryer in the room (the hairdryer wasn’t very powerful)
* TV with many channels, xbox and films – I think it was about 15-20 dollars to watch a film, so not very cheap.
* Wet’n’Wild is across the road – although it is to the back of the park it only take 5 minutes to walk around to the front.
* They do a coach service to and from the parks e.g. Universal, Sea world etc. - only thing is they drop off and pick up once or twice a day.
I can honestly say there are no bad points to this hotel. One thing I do have to say is that this hotel is on the road that runs along side international drive but even that isn’t a problem as it only takes 5 minutes to walk around to the main strip.
If you don’t intend on getting a car then I would advise to buy a I-ride ticket. They come every 5-10 minutes, easy to get on & off and go the whole length of international drive (and also the road which the hotel is located). It is roughly $1 per ride or $1.50 return but you can also buy day & weekly tickets, which work out cheaper if you use the bus a lot.
Also, if you are buying your park tickets in America, I would recommend that you have a look about to get the best deal. We got a 14-day ticket to Wet’N’Wild, both Universal Studio’s, Sea world and Aquatica $50 - $100 cheaper then in the shop in the hotel.
There are many restaurants along international drive. The one I would say you must go to when there is the golden corral, which is near the big Mac Donald’s behind the chequers burger bar. If you love buffets then this is your place. It had the biggest buffet I have ever seen! The other places I liked were I-hop, Perkins and Pondarosa.
If you go to down town Disney then you must go in Planet Hollywood. The food is lovely, cheap and the staff are excellent.
The only place I would say to skip is Wild Jacks, our food was burnt, was quite expensive and the staff were not very prompt.
I could go on but I won’t! All I have to say is our overall holiday was fantastic & if we go back, we will stay in this hotel again.
