great stay
have just returned from these apartments 2 weeks ago, and what can i say. apartments excellent, really clean and as every one else has said 2 bathrooms was fantastic. we had a three bedroomed apartment it was clean, spacious and had every thing you could need if you are planning to cook and eat in your apartment. Food in admiral bar quite basic and entertainment mid-range some nights better than others. really easy to get out and about from resort excellent bus service, went to cambrils, salou and tarragona all worth a visit. did the day trip to barcelona through the rep but to be quite honest it probably wasnt worth doing as barcelona is just such a big city in the 6 hours you are there you dont get to see a fraction. it really worth a visit all of its own. went to port aventura park a couple of times a great day out but food expensive and limited. dont bother with the market on friday in la pineda as its rubbish, you can get everything that they have in all the shops in the resort at similar prices. restuarants in resort lots of choice but found a lot of the waiting staff very rude, not everyone can speak spanish! as a lot of the waiting staff seem to expect. havana restuarant on beach excellent service great and food excellent. overall a very good holiday, wont be going back though not because we didnt like it but purely because there are so many places in the world that we want to see. enjoy when you visit.
Fabulous apartment
Just back from a great two weeks at the Pineda Park Apartments, La Pineda. The apartment itself was one of the best I have ever stayed in. It was spacious, clean and as with previous reviewers, having two bathrooms was a big plus. The separate kitchenette with its own access to the balcony was well equipped with a 4 ring hob, full size oven, microwave, full size fridge freezer and loads of dishes, etc. Locationwise there was a good supermarket nearby as well as a bus stop, ATM machine and the beach. The pool and pool area was very well kept and it was encouraging to see the area around the pool being washed and cleaned every morning. What more could you ask for? Access to the pool was from 9am to 8pm. There were however people queuing in the morning before the pool area opened, with towels in hand, to book sun loungers around the pool. On the downside, the noise within the building was bad at times with people dragging furniture around and our apartment (no 113) overlooked the pool and was just above the terrace of the bar which was also noisy particularly at night. Entertainment was provided every night to 12 midnight on the terrace and when this ended music was played until about 2 am. Not a problem for us since our daughter is 17 and we were out most nights anyway but for families with young children that may go to bed early this may be problematic. The entertainment included a hypnotist, flamenco dancing, bingo, comedian, karaoke, etc and was fine. Most of the staff in the Admiral bar were friendly. The food there was just ok. For a good meal try the Waterfront in La Pineda or some of the Spanish restaurants nearby. We got a bus into Salou several evenings and ate in Richards Tavern where the food was first class, the portions great and the cost low. We tried most things on the menu and we were never disappointed. The homemade Sangria was also good. We visited both waterparks Aquapolis in La Pineda and Costa Caribe at Port Aventura. Both had their plus and minus points. Overall we preferred the Aquapolis because it was more spacious and felt less cramped and also we were able to bring a picnic with us. It was €22.50 for Aquapolis while Costa Caribe cost €20 for the day. The food in Costa Caribe was extortionately priced and not very good. You need to go early to Costa Caribe to get a sun lounger (€4 to hire). Of course the holiday wouldn't have been complete without going to Port Aventura. We managed to buy a 14 day pass for the price of a 3 day pass online before we left which worked out great value for money. With this we then also received 20% discount to Costa Caribe so we only had to pay €16 to get in. Tip for the theme park - go early in the morning and go straight to the big rides further in the park eg China or Mexico (the queues at this time are minimal) or alternatively go in the evening. I would avoid the afternoon for the big rides the queues can be over an hour for the more popular rides. Shows not to miss - Bubblebou for the little ones, Fort Frenzy and Chinatown shows, Dances of the New World and Aloha Tahita and of course Fiestaventura. We booked the Jeep Safari with the rep (€41 euro pp) which was a bit slow to start with but when we went off road the kids loved it. Make sure you have a waterpistol and plenty of water to refill it for this trip its great fun soaking the other people on the other jeeps. Could have done without the wine tasting part of the day but the village at the top of the mountains was beautiful with breathtaking views, interesting history and it was so traditionally Spanish. There were several free outdoor events held during our 2 weeks in La Pineda including a steel drum band, orchestra, choir, to name a few all of which were very family oriented and worth stopping to see. Overall the holiday was good but this was our fifth time in Salou so I think it will be some time before we return. Our daughter is hoping to return with friends soon.
Excellent Place to Stay 10/10
Transfer time was only 10 - 15 mins (first drop off) .Very very pleased with the apartments, great to have 2 bathrooms, the entire apartment was spacious, and clean. Great pools, good to see caretaker chap checking the pools daily. Great Location to get out and about, bus service easy to use, i.e. into Salou. Staff at the Admiral Bar very helpful and pleasant. Food at the Admiral was very good, slightly on the basic side however, but great for a lunch time snack. The changing rooms after you have checked out of your room were great, four individual cubicles each with power points and showers. Would Definately go back ,
FAB
these apartment are excellant for family very spacious and very clean. the pool is great too we had no probelm get bed at the pool at all any time of the day . the bar is excellant and good value for money .a great place over all.
Our 3rd time at pineda park
We have stayed at pineda park for the past 3 years. Nowhere beats it . It is soooo clean and the staff are great. Have never seen apartments as nice. Pool not that big but easier to keep eye on the kids. So much to do in Salou, theme park if fab. Love Pineda Park would go there every year no probs!!
Great for families
I stayed in Pineda Park apartments with my whole family and we range from the ages of 6-60!! We had 2 apartments between 10 of us.The apartments were extremely clean-the toilet seats even had plastic covering on them when we arrived!! One of the apartments had a beautiful pool view but was over the pub below so was slightly noisy at night. Not a big problem. There was entertainment every night from Bingo to Quizzes to live music. I would recommend it for families not really for young people as it is in a very quiet part of Salou. It is about 10-15 mins walk from Aquapolis and close to supermarkets, and tourist shops and bus stops. One fault was that there was no kids club. The adjacent restaurant was reasonable with a wide selection of english food incl burgers, engish breakfasts, steaks etc. We could even see the Dragon Khan (in the distance) in Port Aventura from outside the hotel. Enjoy!!!
last minute gamble really paid off
We booked a late deal and were to be allocated on arrival. Not knowing even which resort we would be staying at. when the coach dropped us off we were more than pleasantly surprised the area was very clean spacious and reasonably quiet (sort of medium touristy) there were many Spanish holidaying in the area which is usually a good sign The Apartments were excellent 2 beds 2 bathrooms kithchen loung/diner and very large balcony The staff were friendly and pleasant the Admiral bar (attached) was a Friendly British run bar with Excellent value food and very tasty (try the rack of ribs) if you go out do not shy away from the spanish restaurants they will welcome you just try a little catalan or spanish to impress them Definitely take the JEEP SAFARI
great apartments
wonderfully maintained modern apartments in a beautiful location. we had hired a car for the week so Salou and Port Aventura were less than 10 mins away and we could come and go as we pleased. The beach is a 5-10min stroll away, as are most of the restaurants and bars of the area. Would definitely recommend these apts to others. Entertainment in the adjoining English bar downstairs goes on quite late so lite sleepers might have issues, but all in all we enjoyed a very pleasant stay and would have no problem returning
what a wonderful place to stay
we arrived at the hotel at tea time, we were suprised that the deposit was only 60 euros as ive payed more to stay in standard accomadation. As there was 2 bedrooms, two bathrooms large living area and seperate kitchen. all was extremly clean. The only service i begrudged was paying for a travel cot for my 2 year old to sleep in, which cost around 50 euro. on site you have all the facilites you need 2 pools, play area, games room, pub/resturant which has entertainment every night. Again all was good quality and staff very pleasant but as we were there for two weeks the entertainment is repeated the second week.(kids loved it) If you like eating out the food at the cafe accross from the lazy wave 2 round the corner was great, if you go for breakfast in the lazy wave then i suggest you ask for your eggs to be done on both sides as we learnt. In la pineda the night entertainment is scarce and theres only a few places such as murphys bar which is down near the water park. we use to get on the bus into salou which only cost 1 euro 50 each and take in the strip of night life there. The water park is great value for money and we didnt see the kids all day until the dolphin show started. would definatly return.
Simply the best.
Top class Accomadation in a beautiful setting. This was my second visit here and will be returning again. Appartments kept extremely clean with friendly helpful staff.
