Submitted By: Jennifer WaldrenThe beach is just across the road and town is about 25 minutes walk away. However there is a bus stop outside the hotel and a train station up the road which is easier.
Overall, i think this hotel is great for families but elderely couples who dont want or need kids around should maybe try a different hotel, we love the beach club and are definately going to be returning.

Submitted By: Shane Van PontefractSecondly, the hotel staff, most had smiles all day long, they were courteous and they even entertained my children thougout the holiday, they get 10 out of 10.
Thirdly, I would defo go back to this hotel, it was cheap has chips, however you get what you pay for, it does need a refurb, but then you will pay through the nose.
The biggest let down of this hotel is the location it is a good 1/2 hour walk into the center of Torremolinos, but you can catch a bus out side for 1.20 euro and a train for 1.25euro.
Advice: Very dated resort not the best on the Costa Del Sol
Activities: The Marina inbetween Torromelinos and Benalmedina
" Do Not Stay Here "
Submitted By: A Frequent TravellerWe unfortunately booked this Hotel before reading the reviews, what a big mistake!
We arrived on the Thursday and I started to have minor grumbles and cramps in my stomach along with a few too many trips to the toilet. By the Sunday I had the full blown “Bug” and spent the next 24 hours in agony not being able to leave the bedroom and spending almost all of the time on the toilet; suffering with severe Diarrhoea eventually collapsing onto the bathroom floor, from were I had to be assisted by my wife how embarrassing. I had I had taken the maximum number of Imodium but these had no effect and taken the usual advice of drinking flat coke to re-hydrate myself. A number of other guests that I spoke to were also complaining, so I was not the only one who suffered with the infamous “BUG”
I could not relax for the rest of the week, with still having cramps in my stomach. I was not comfortable eating in the restaurant after this and found we ate out for most meals or chose very carefully with just a plate of chips, which defeats the point of being all inclusive. Thankfully my wife and daughter did not get the “BUG” but I still have stomach cramps having returned home yesterday.
The food choices were very poor and repetitive, you felt that ingredients were being reused in other dishes; I watched the chef cooking pork chops from frozen on a griddle I suppose this should have been enough of an indicator that one could get stomach problems, so poor food by any standard.
As for entertainment for children there is not any, the evening time mini (club) disco was non-existent another reason we booked the hotel. The pool areas are poor with very little space unless you are there at dawn and get your towels out.
On a plus point, the majority of the hotel staff are very polite, friendly and helpful, the beach is very clean and the area is lovely, I would return to Torremolinos but not the Beach Club Hotel.
Advice: Torremolinos great Hotel Beach Club give it a miss

Submitted By: *GWP*The meals where really nice, always really hot they was a lot of great choice for EVERY one, from Pizzas to Salad. The deserts were lovely too, with a great range of things. The breakfast had everything, Bacon, Egg, Sasuage, Tomotoes, Mushrooms, Beans, Ceral, Toast, Varity of breads with jam, maraliade, chocolate spread. It had fruit jucie machiences located all over the restraunt. Tea and Coffee was also available.
To be totally honest after breakfast, we didn't really eat lunch, we would just wait for tea, but from other guests the lunch was just as good with a great choice again. Tea was lovely too, the pizza were nice, different toppings which was good, help yourself to drinks, as many as you like. As we entered the restraunt we were given hand wipes, we thought this was good and kept it nice anD clean.
They had two large pools and a baby pool, the pools were clean and cleaned every night by a member of staff. A waterfall was inbetween both large pools which were amazing as you can imagine.
We didnt relise they was a shop on the site, after the last few days this sold alot of things from, sweets to named beer like John Smith's Smooth. It was pretty cheap to and very handy. The staff were polite and helpful.
The entertainment was good, it was different every night, one night was a parrot show, then a magic show. one night was a humouros act or something like that. Every night was just as good. They was bingo most nights, which was cheap and prizes was good, for a line it was something like 40 euros and for a full house it was like 60 euros.
As for ALL the bad comment, i think there aload of rubbish, i had no fault with this hotel, it was lovely, in fact its the best holiday we have ever been on. So people who have booked this holiday, dont take any notice of the bad comment they are not true. We was there for a week and NO ONE feel ill with this so called BUG people are saying about.
Have a fab time like we did and enjoy yourselfs, it will be the best holiday you will have been on. It was ours anyway!!!
Were coming back this year and are looking forward to it!!!!!!!
AMAZING HOLIDAY :D

" Great :) "
Submitted By: Baby FaceWe stayed for 4 nights and it was fantastic. The place is spotless, the staff great, plenty of entertainment, not a problem with the food, everything within walking distance, right next to the beach. The only tiny tiny complaint we had was that we were the only people under 60!! But everyone was lovely :)
A trip to benalmadena is a MUST. the marina is amazing, but dont waste your money going to the sealife centre, soooo not worth it. If your looking to party, then the 24 hour square is the place to be. The staff are very persistant though and its quite expensive! Its only a 40 minute walk, but it took us 3 and a half hours (we stopped at a lot of pubs). Didnt find out about the lift till the last day which was a bit rubbbish :(
We would deffo go back, but maybe june/july. We felt so young but still had a fantastic time!!!
Advice: Just go for it
Activities: benalmadena

" Great Holiday "
Submitted By: cluelessjewelWe arrived at 11am on a Sunday morning. We got a taxi straight from Malaga Airport (7 mins drive and €19) we were amazed on arrival to see how close to the beach the hotel is, it is literally across the road. The room was not going to be ready until 2pm so the lovely reception staff checked us in within 5 minutes gave us our all inclusive wrist bands and told us that we could have a drink or food or enjoy the facilities until our room was ready. We stored our bags in a storage room across from reception.
The food in the hotel is fantastic. There is a great selection and everything and is extremely clean. There are anti bacterial wipes available as you walk into the restaurant, as well as handed out from the waiting staff on some occasions. In fact on one of the evenings the waiters were handing out flowers to all the female guests. I thought that was a lovely touch.
Breakfast is served between 8-10.30 and has a vast selection of cooked breakfast/continental breakfast/yogurts/freshly baked rolls and loaves/omelet/fried egg/sausage/plum tomatoes/beans/rashers/fruit/salad. There are tea and coffee machines around but the coffee available in the bar is nicer (in my opinion). There are juice machines around too and there are condiments i.e. sauces available at various locations around the room. The restaurant itself is enormous, would easily sit 150-200 people.
Lunch (1-3) and dinner (6.30-9) are quite similar and have a selection of salads, cold meats, crisps, olives, cheese and usually a choice of a meat and fish dish, paella, there were some things that I wouldn't be into like deep fried squid that look like onion rings and Hungarian goulash but there were other things like pan fried chicken and pork chops too. There are chips available every lunch/dinner. There is a separate stand which is just for pizza and pasta and over there you get a choice of about 6 different pizzas, 2 kinds of garlic bread, baked potatoes and either plain pasta or plain spaghetti with a tomato sauce that is separate.
The desserts are divine; I highly recommend the rice pudding! My husband ate at least 4 desserts per meal! They are small enough portions that you would be able to choose two or three that catch your fancy! There's jelly available and ice cream too. Again yogurts are on offer.
The local lager served in the hotel is Cruzcampo and my husband enjoyed it. I drank vodka and diet Pepsi most of the time and I would treat myself to a cocktail in the evenings made up of pina colada and chocolate milk, it was delicious and soon there were a lot of holiday makers drinking it! The bar staff are fantastic and even made up a mini cocktail for our 5 year old which she was extremely impressed with! Every time you tip them they ring a bell and everybody cheers! Hint hint.
There are two bars in the hotel, one upstairs, and the piano bar which is quiet and relaxed and downstairs is where the main entertainment takes place in the evening. The entertainment is entertaining which is what it is supposed to be. There was a contortionist one night that amazed my 5 year old daughter, there were two nights of bird shows, one night of parrots and another night of owls/eagles which my daughter loved. However this was all the entertainment aimed at children for our whole week there. There was nothing for children during the day. I am assured that there is a kids club run through the peak season with a kiddies disco in the evenings and there is a kid’s club room. There were activities for the adults during the day like archery, soccer etc. There was a comedian another night, singers 3 nights and they were very good one of them even managed to drag my husband up for a sing and a dance! Bingo is nearly every night. It's only €1.50 for a card and the line is usually worth €60 with the jackpot being €185. I gather this will rise as the season gets busier. There was also a quiz a couple of nights which was general knowledge and you won 3 bottles of alcohol of your choice.
The only complaint I would have is about Anne & Jim. And not Jim. Anne & Jim are Thomsons Reps who run a ballroom dancing/sequence dancing classes during the day and then 3 of our 7 nights they took up the entertaining bar from 7.30-9pm to show people how to do it. This initially sounded like great fun, our daughter who is 5 loves to dance. Anne has no patience for children OR people who cannot get the footing correct in a certain dance. She asks the parents to restrain their kids from entering the dance floor and as such stresses all the holiday making parents out! I have absolutely nothing against this entertainment but either A) it should be held later i.e. after children would be up and dancing or B) in another room.
I think the entertainment at this time of year would definitely be geared towards the older generation perhaps 60+ with the ballroom dancing and cabaret singers.
There is an indoor heated pool which is divine, the room itself is very warm and has lots of seating for just sitting and not going in the pool if your kids are old enough for you to do this. There is a jacuzzi also. There are two large outdoor pools and one baby pool but they were too chilly for my two at this time of the year, however there were people swimming. There is a play park with a climbing frame and slide and rubber flooring next to the baby pool (but separated from it).
There is a gym but a tumble weed could have rolled through it! We peeked through the window and it is extremely run down and untidy and has a look of not having been used for a very long time. I was disappointed by this. There was no such thing as a treadmill; it seemed that there was just a very old fashioned exercise bike, weight lifting apparatus and various other weight benches.
There is a supermarket on the premises selling small toys, novelty gifts like fridge magnets/t-shirts/key rings it also stocked milk, newspapers, toothpaste, drinks, sweets and mineral water which is essential, although you do get a complimentary 2 litre bottle in your room when you check in. There is a shop that sells cigarettes 5 minutes walk away with another supermarket in that area also and a tobacconists 10-15 minutes walk away where you could get 200 B&H for €31 if you were so inclined. They also sell 3 packets of varying brands for €10. There is a postcards/stamps and a postbox available within the hotel.
There is a cinema room which showed Hannah Montana one night and High School Musical another; it also showed sports matches and soaps.
The weather varied between 16 and 23 degrees. We got 2 beautifully glorious days of sunshine and the rest were dry and sometimes breezy but when the sun was out it was warm, the clouds made it chillier so we needed jackets/jumpers. However, we did come back tanned!
The rooms are spotless and the maid tidies them every day. If you are not ready in the morning she will come back in the afternoon instead. The towels are changed once you leave them in the bath indicating that is your wish. There are extra blankets in the wardrobe if needed. There is a safe deposit box with a fee of €3 per day from reception. There is only 1 plug socket in the room and don't forget to bring your international adapters! There is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. There is a telephone but you cannot dial out you have to use a telephone downstairs for that; it is for internal calls only. There is a television with 4/5 English speaking channels including sky news and cbeebies if that is what you are looking for!
There is a train station 10 minutes walk from the hotel which takes you one way to Malaga Airport or Malaga City and the other way to Torremolinos/Benalmadena/Fuengirola. We took a day trip to Malaga for €1.40 one way per adult. We didn't pay for the children (age 5 and 1) If you don't have much luggage it is a very cost effective way to get to the airport! The trains are every half an hour, generally 10 past and 20 to the hour. If you just miss a train (like we did!) there is a play park 2 minutes walk from the station which kept my two entertained while we waiting for the next one. There is a lovely marina/port/harbour in Malaga, a park and lots of shops, you can get a map in the train station on arrival and it's very easy to find your way around.
Torremolinos town is 20/25 minutes walk away; you walk down the beach promenade and then turn up some gorgeous winding Spanish streets leading past lots of lovely little shops up steps to the main street Calle San Miguel. It is a lovely walk. You can also hop on a bus literally outside the hotel gates for around €1 and you can get the same bus back to the gates again.
The Torremolinos Market is on Thursday and Sunday from 10am to 2pm. It is situated around the corner from the Crocodile Park so we made a day of it. The crocodile park is great fun and you get a good talk about crocs/alligators and the opportunity to hold a baby croc if you wish.
Information about the various local markets/buses etc. is available from the Thomson desk opposite reception.
If you carry on walking down the promenade past the turn off for Torremolinos Centro you will find a beautiful walk towards Benalmadena Pier, it's a long walk but very nice.
To get to Torremolinos or Benalmadena you turn right at the beach and not left, there is nothing down to the left we found.
The beach is immaculate with public toilets at regular intervals and they too are spotless. There are approximately 3 play parks on the beach itself between the hotel and the turn off for Torremolinos Centro.
There is a tourist information office 10 minutes walk towards Torremolinos from the hotel and I would highly recommend getting a map of the area from there as they point out attractions on the map and that helped us make up our mind of what to see and visit.
As for the BUG we heard about 3 different people that were ill while we were staying there, it was pure fluke and would have happened at any other hotel. With all inclusive it is definitely possible to over indulge. I think the people posting here have to be over fabricating the stories and they nearly ruined my holiday before it had even begun.
I would highly recommend this hotel and plan on visiting again in the near future.
Advice: Great place to visit
Activities: Great walks along the promenade and into the town centre

" looks good but watch outm theres bugs about! "
Submitted By: beezlebubWe did get a better room and the hotel seemed clean and well kept.
It was however compleely catering for the older residents. Children under 18 were not allowed to join in in any activities to my sons great distrees because he loves a game of bowls and french bouls and hasd never in any way caused disruption and at 13 I believe has a right to join in given the fact he had been paid for as an adult.
" My Favourite Holiday! "
Submitted By: babymonkeysrockI went on this holiday when I was 14 and it was really good!
I stayed in one of the little appartments, I think called anixes! It was so lovely having a little house and balcony!
Ive been on so many hotel holidays and different boards.
I love all inclusive because I dont have to ask my parents for money for drinks and food all the time! It works out so much cheaper too! An extra say 100 each for it, that would be gone in two days on self catering! Everything here was hygenic! All the staff were friendly! The food was amazing! Theres even a little pizza shack in the corner of the food hall and they make whatever pizza you want which is good if you just want to put one on the table and all share! There is also a theme, I think its 2 times a week and the chefs make a range of food dor example a seafood night! The hot chocolate is so yummy too! The swimming pool is really nice :) The best thing about this holiday is that there is a gate in the hotel and right opposite is the beach which is lovely!! I went in October 2006 and it was really hot! It felt like the summer! There were a great bunch of people my age to hang out with! Theres entertainment every night too and the alcohol is nice, although I shouldnt have been drinking! I would recomment this to families because there is a nice piano bar where adults can sit and enjoy a night in the hotel and there is also a main bar for kids or families. Theres a pool room to which is popular! Im going to be honest, I think with reviwes its a matter of opinion, but i think as long as a place is hygenic, safe, child friendly and lively its a good holiday :) The good thing is neihter me or my family were unhappy with any of the service at all and my mum can be very fussy! :)
I really recommend this place guys its lovely, Costa del sol over all is so gorgous, nothing like you see on tv. Theres crime everywhere! It shouldnt be the main focus!
Advice: Glamorous and lively
Activities: The mountains! Get the monorail from tivili world!

Submitted By: micwilNext morning got booked in no problem, room was clean, nice view and was plesed. Two days later i was in agony in the middle of the night, continual gastro enteritis for 2 days, i soon learned i wasn't the only one, the hand wipes in the restaurant should have been a give away!
As i recovered my husband fell ill, he has epilepsy and due to his medication not staying in his system on the second day he had 7 seizures and was taken from the hotel to hospital where he spent the next 6 days, couldn't travel home and ended up travelling the length of Spain by train as he was unable to fly.
The hotel staff were very good, the maids even brought us water to our room when they heard we were ill, the manager (Paco i think) was amazing when my husband took ill, i couldn't fault any of them along with a brilliant nurse from Hull who helped too. Hotel arranged ambulance to private hospital though, cost an arm and leg and should have been given option to go to public one, the insurance are still quibbling over it all!
All in all the location was amazing, the entertainment pretty good most mights, but really Health and Safety should shut down this restaurant, the food stays warm all day, obviously re heated at night and for all the comments about people blaming the alcohol and the sun on the problem, get real, i certainly didn't get my money's worth with free booze, didn't feel well enough to enjoy it, had tea most nights (yes and i'm stll in my 30's!!!) never heard of on holiday.
Definately a big problem, as with other guests, there were many in the same boat, god love you if you bring children to this place, BEWARE

I did get the bug, terrible sickness and what comes with it, aches, i felt freezing cold( the tempreature was in the high 30s outside) had no energy, slept for nearly 2 days, i didnt over indulge in food or drink, as some people seem to think if anyone gets it, was sensible about the hygeine side, at the same time i had it we soon discovered lots more had it, even the maid admitted lots in the hotel had it, it really knocked me out and was sacred that my daughter would get, luckily she didnt, i didnt find out until arriving home but thomson was sued for over £2 million by guests a couple of years ago due to the bug which is present in the hotel. just type into google news the name of the hotel and read it for yourself, that is why i presume thomson are not using the hotel again after this year, i dont blame them but it should have been removed from them when the 1st outbreak struck a few years ago, if i would have known this i would not have booked or would have paid to change my hotel. The only good thing we enjoyed about the holiday was the pools, which was kept lovely and clean, but we didnt pay over £1500 to just enjoy the pool, if you have booked, if you can, change, i certainly would have if i would have known, if you dont change i really do hope you go and have a great time and dont get ill.
