I spent 5 days at the hotel, had a great time, food was fantastic, lots of activities to do during the day, entertainment was average,, some nights was greatm some night bit cheesey, but bar and food included and open til midnight can't complain,, eat tons and never had any kinda of bug or problems, no one in my group had any problems and all enjoyed themself, would go back again,,, staff were nice aswell

JUST RETURNED LAST NIGHT FROM A WEEKS ALL INCLUSIVE AT THE BEECH CLUB.
WHAT A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. ARRIVED SUNDAY 11TH MAY AND BY WEDNESDAY MORNING I FEELING VIOLENTLY ILL SEVERE SICKNESS AND DIAHORRA A SEVERE STOMACH BUG COULDN'T DO ANYTHING THAT DAY SO MUCH PAIN AND FELT SO ILL. AS THE DAY WENT ON MY HUSBAND CAME DOWN WITH IT TO. ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS GO HOME THE FOLLOWING DAY STILL FELT REALLY ILL CERTAINLY COULDN'T STOMACH EATTING ANYTHING. A STOMACH BUG WHICH MAKES YOU FEEL SO ILL. AFTER SPEAKING TO OTHERS IT TURNED OUT THAT THERE WERE SO MANY PEOPLE WITH THIS SERVERE STOMACH BUG IT WAS UNBELIEVEABLE. YOUNG BABIES CHILDREN AND ADULTS ALIKE. 2 LARGE PARTIES HAD EVEN BOOKED AND PAID FOR FLIGHTS AND FLOWN HOME. UNFORTUNATELY WE CAN'T ALL AFFORD TO DO THAT. WE DESIDED TO FORM A PETITION AT THE HOTEL OF PEOPLE WITH THIS BUG IN THE 3 DAYS BEFORE I LEFT WE'D GO OVER 50 PEOPLE EITHER SUFFERING OR WHO HAD THIS BUG IN THEM 7 DAYS. ON OUR DEPARTURE DAY A FURTHER 9 PEOPLE CAME DOWN WITH IT. ON ARRIVAL THE PLACE LOOKS OKAY BUT DON'T BE FOOLED BECAUSE IF YOU HAVEN'T GOT A STOMACH MADE OF STEEL YOU'VE GOT NO CHANCE. THE REPS IN THE HOTEL DON'T CARE. THERE PROBABLY SO USE TO IT BY NOW. THERE A QUITE A FEW HYGIENE ISSUES IN THIS HOTEL. i went to this hotel for 2 weeks. 1 week with my daughter and husand and the other week my in-laws and brother and sister-in-law joined us! 1st week my husand and daughter came down with it and ended up stuck in the hotel rooms for 2days of the holiday! then terrifried my in-laws would come down with the 'beach club bug' as them being older and guess what.................one by one they all came down with the 'beach club bug'. being older they can't afford holidays which limits them to once every three years, completely ruined their holiday!!! there now put off to go away again as no-one helped or could give us answers to this 'beach club bug' which everyone in the hotel came down with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I stayed at the Beach club in February 2008 this is the sixth time we have been here,and for the last two years we have stayed there each October and February, and I must say that neither of us have ever been ill ,we have always found the hotel to be very clean and the food always of a good standard , at this time in the UK April/May 2008 quite a lot of people we know have had a stomach bug so perhaps it is just something going around. We are looking forward to returning to the Beach club in October this year where I am sure we will have just as enjoyable holiday as we have had previously.

We have just spent 2 weeks at the Beach Club Torremolinos, what a waste of money this Holiday was. We had only been there 3 days when I came down with the SIckness and Diarrhoea Bug. I spent all night running to the toilet and feeling very ill, the next day unable to get out of bed because I felt so weak.The following day my Husband was also very ill with the same Bug it took him a few days to recover.The rest of our Holiday was ruined as we had terrible stomach pains and nausea and was only able to drink or eat very little. Twice during the second week I came down with Diarrhoea again, thank goodness for Imodium. Our Sister and Brother-in-Law also had the same Bug and along with us reported this to the Thomson Rep who filled in a form on our behalf and said it would be Faxed off to head office. We spoke to a lot of people in the Beach Club many had been ill ( or were ill) with the same Bug including Children. Before my Husband and I became ill we had not over-indulged with either food or drink or been out for meals or been on any trips or swam in the pool or had ice in any drink.We had been on Beach Club premises all the time.This Holiday was completly ruined with the Bug we pick up whilst staying at the Beach Club and this was meant to be a special Holiday as it was part of our Golden Wedding Celebrations, We would not recommend anyone to stay here until the Sickness and Diarrhoea Bug as been completly eradicated. We have written to Head Office to complain and deserve compensation, for a RUINED TWO WEEK HOLIDAY.

My wife and I booked a week in the sun for our wedding anniversary. Also, as we have been ill for some time with arthritis, I thought that sunshine and relaxation would help us.
The day we arrived, my wife caught a stomach bug and was severely ill for several days with vomiting and diahorrea. A few days later I fell ill with the same condition and ended up in hospital on a drip. The diagnosis was food poisoning. We soon discovered that we weren't the only ones and that people staying at the hotel were dropping like flies.
When I returned to the hotel from hospital, I informed the reception staff what had happened. They couldn't have cared less. We went on holiday for a rest and ended up more ill than before we left!
On returning home, I was horrified to find that this problem has been going on for years at this hotel. How can tour companies be able to continue to send people back to this hell-hole year after year? I am disgusted.

Such a shame to read the negative reviews about this hotel! We are a couple with two young children (4 at the time and 11 months). We enjoyed every minute at this hotel. Everything was comfortable, food and service was great. Kids loved the pool, and it was just a walk over the road for the beach. Excellent hotel for whoever is planning on having a holiday in Torremolinos! I highly recommend Beach Club Hotel!! I would certainly visit again in time to come.

we stayed at the beach club for 1 week in april the worst thing about the trip was the mystery bug out of the 12 people in our group 6 got it they say its airborn and not a hygine problem this is not a nice experiance

Me and my partner's first holiday abroad looked very good in prospect. All the reviews we'd seen looked tops. However, within 24 hours we caught an extremely nasty bug - a gastric virus or Norovirus. We arrived on the Sunday, became ill on Monday a.m. and were in hospital by lunchtime Tuesday. We flew home after convincing the doctors to allow us, on the Wednesday. I then learnt from other websites/ reviews that this problem has occurred at THIS hotel for 8 YEARS!!! Tour operators have been systematically shipping people out there knowing that there's at least a 50/50 chance they're going to get ill. It's not from over-indulging, anyone who says so is extremely lucky. I now learn that they are steam cleaning the place - so obviously, obviously, obviously there's a problem!!!
I have written to Thompson demanding my money back for the holiday, plus the extra expenses we incurred. I have also contacted BBC's Watchdog. I am insistent that someone takes ownership for this, and if you've been subjected to this norovirus because of the Beach Club & have any morals whatsoever, you'll do the same so that we can put an end to this saga of people being put in danger. As i read on another review, "does someone have to die for this to be taken seriously?" You may think that's pretty strong, but i'm not joking, having to watch the one person you love most in the world collapse in front of you, unwillingly soiling herself and vomitting (and then the same happen to you) is not something i want to witness again, and i'm not going to take lightly.

Just arrived back on Saturday evening 12th April.
20 people were in our group, 16 of these people came down with the Bug.
The standards of this hotel have dropped alot over the last year (i have been to this Hotel for the last 5 years with 20 golfers each time, and in that 5 years only one person has ever had a tummy bug.
There seems to be a terrible smell of sewerage on the ground floor where the pools are.
Will not be returning to this hotel again.
They were steaming everywhere with steam machines.
Food choice also has gone downhill.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the beach club and have stayed at this hotel many times before. There were 15 of us staying there for my husbands 40th birthday. The hotel appears clean, food is good, staff are friendly I read the reviews before we travelled and was very apprehensive. I have to be honest here and say that there is definately a problem with this hotel and I do believe that it is an air-bourne virus with so many people in one area it doesn't take long for it to spead - i don't think its the food. Out of the 15 of us 7 got the bug and one of us even had to be escorted off the aircraft in a wheel chair!! On the day we left there were doctors and nurses visiting people in their rooms and as you walk down the corridar of the hotel you can hear people throwing up - not very pleasant. Ok, yes we all over indulged whilst on an all inclusive holiday but this is much more than that. My advice is, if you are thinking about going to this hotel then I wouldn't just yet until this bug has been eradicated (they need to close the hotel in order to do this as its spreading like wild fire). If you have already booked this hotel - try and change. The hotel staff are doing their best but whilst an air bourne virus is there no amount of cleaning will get rid of it!! GOOD LUCK IF YOU DO GO BUT TAKE PLENTY OF IMODIUM.

Just returned from a glorious sunny week in Costa... My husband contracted the "bug" from this Hotel on about the 5th day of our holiday. I was very apprehensive about this holiday as I had read the comments after I had booked. There were so many people that contracted this bug when we were there I was shocked. Something really needs to be looked at . The Hotel does appear to be trying with hand wipes and cleaning taking place most of the day. What I question is what are the cleaners using or not using in their cleaning regime. We had our room cleaned and after the maid had left the room smelled of stale mop!! It could be the cleaners spreading the germs from one room to another?? No-one really knows what it is but most people will suffer from it. I was lucky but my husband wasn't. The Thomson rep is a real dissapointment. She is not interested in your concerns so don't bother asking her anything about it as she is quite snotty. She claims it's airborn or brought in from someone sat on the plane!! I have looked on the internet for other comments about the surronding Hotels and none of these have reported outbreaks of a "bug", I would assume they come in on the same plane and the people breath the same air!!.. Even the local chemist knows what Hotel you are from when you go in. All that said the Hotel staff are really friendly and helpful, they do appear to be trying to take care with hygiene levels. If you book your hoilday and then read these comments I would suggest you try and change your hotel as your chances of catching anything is really high. All the other comments for this hotel are spot on...... good and bad. If you have booked GOOD LUCK !!!!

I have just returned from the' beach bug hotel'with my family of 8, of which there were 4 adults and 4 children. The hotel itself seemed ok and the first few days of our holiday were very enjoyable until my father in law suddenly became very ill with terrible tummy pains, sickness and diarrhoea which completely wiped him out. He was unable to get out of bed for 2 days. To our horror then our 2 youngest children started being violently sick at the same time which was quite worrying as it was right through the night. Just as they started to pick up after being dosed up on medicine (recommended by another sick holiday maker) we discovered that it seemed to be going right through the hotel. I was the next person affected alongside our eldest child followed by my husband and mother in law who were also very poorly. We were told by the staff at reception when we informed them of our illnesses that they had no other complaints and this was utterly untrue as we saw guests being taken from the hotel by ambulance. The thing I found most disturbing about my experience was that each time I visited the bathroom to either be ill myself or along with my children I could hear other guests in surrounding rooms being ill also all through the night. I feel that our holiday was completely ruined by the effects of this terrible illness as I myself didnt leave my room for 3 whole days and on arriving back at the uk earlier today am still feeling poorly from the effects of this bug. We have all said how this bug doesn't just cause the sickness and dysentry but also causes your whole body to ache, you have the most agonising tummy pains and it leaves you with no desire to eat anything for days afterwards. I would advise anyone who is thinking about staying at this hotel to think twice because there is obviously something not quite right there. We have all come back feeling really disappointed by what could and should have been a really enjoyable and memorable family holiday.

despite being told in graphic detail by one or two other guests about 'the bug' we got away lightly or there was not too much of a problem. i don't deny some people were affected with a sickness bug but we seemed ok.
the hotel was very clean if a little dated, the staff were great, very helpful and the facilities were good for 3*.
really enjoyed the area around locally and along the coast also very clean.
good trip to go up in the cable car in benalmadina, worth the views alone.
find the markets on thursday and fridays, and use local transport.

From a childs point of view [age 10]I have been going to the beach club for 8 years and all the staff are friendly to kids like lucy,antonio and all the other staff.
No one can complain there is some thing for everyone to do.the beach is just over the road.And I have never had the BUG.I go with my mum,dad,big brother and family-friend.We meet new and old friend.
the hotel is so clean it was cleaned every day.The food was the best. 20 of us are go this year on the 8th of Jun 08.
