Submitted By: Sunny1979The hotel has recently been down graded from 4* to 3* and thats generous.
The outside of the hotel is well maintained with pretty gardens.
The pool area, although large, needs a good clean and hosing down.
Watch your step as the floor has sunken in parts.
I would advise to steer clear of the pool toilets as peoples business is left floor to ceiling.
There is a foul smell of sewer that blows across the pool. The smell was enough to make me gag.
The restauraunt is also in need of a good clean. Old food is left stuck to chairs and the freezer rusty.
Flies are left to roam over food.
The food served is eadible, but always the same. Lunch and dinner. Processed meats are used mainly with some grilled. Plenty of salads, pasta, chips and rice.
If you are late for a meal the staff have qualms about removing food as you try to serve yourself.
If you have been all inclusive in Spain, the Greeks idea of all inclusive is completly different. 3 main meals served at set times, then pasteries served at the bar.
The room we stayed in was well proportioned but again tatty.
Hot water from 8 o'clock at night as everyone else is showering until then and it cuts off the pressure. Bathrooms are basic.
Towels were changed 1x in the week as were the sheets.
Sheets were stained with blood and even the shape of a plaster!
The wardrobes damp.
The beach outside the hotel is vile. We found nappies, condoms and poo just to name a few things.
This hotel would make a great base for younger people who want to sleep after coming back from kavos, not for families etc .....
Advice: A smelly dump. Ideal drinking ground for teenagers. Steer clear.

Submitted By: MarieSusanI would definitely go back to this hotel, we had a great week and I would say it was well worth the money, the only small disappointment was that the bar closed at 10, which was too early I do think it should be open till 11 and I think a lot of people were saying this, but that was the only slight downfall, so if you have booked to go here, you will have a great time and I'm sure the entertainers will keep you amused in the evenings :)
Advice: Yes

" Exceeded our expectations "
Submitted By: abz168The food was good and although some people could describe it as samey, there was plenty of choice so you don't have to have the same thing everyday.
The rooms were large and spacious but minimal - but in all honesty you don't spend much time there anyway! They were cleaned all days (apart from Sunday) and we had new towels twice in 6 days.
We found the staff very helpful and friendly and we loved the all inclusive aspect (we didn't find the drinks too watered down!!)
The best thing was the pool (which is larger than average) and there is plenty of gaming and sports facilities to keep the non-sun worshippers busy! The attached independent watersports facility was brilliant and good value.
The worse thing about the resort was the evening entertainment but it was almost funny in it's cheesiness. They do try hard and there is no lack of enthusiasm.
All in all we had a great holiday and we thought the pros far outweighed the cons!

" Great, We'd Go Again! "
Submitted By: JamdebThe cleaners seemed to have their own rules, so we had to ask for our sheets/towels to be changed during the first week, but it was fine after that. The shower wasn't very good, but it worked, and the room (inc. aircon) was clean with beautiful views off the balcony, and with two pools and entertainment we found that we didn't spend much time in our room anyway. The beach was OK, needed a bit of tlc due to all the seaweed washed up, but it's a 2 minute walk around the corner to Kavos beach. Pedlo's and canoe's were free and loads of other water sports are available for a small charge.
There was families, old and young couples, groups of girls and lads, which proved there is something for everyone. We got a bargin and have had a fab time and would definately go back again.

" Don't believe the bad reviews "
Submitted By: dougiebearThe complex was lovely, about a 15 minute walk from Kavos so far enough away to avoid the resort. The room was clean, tidy, the cleaners came every other day. The bathroom was a bit of a let down as the toilet kept on breaking (though was fixed once i told reception) and the shower was not great we had to hold it to wash otherwise it would get water all over the floor. There was no bath so shower was the only option. The food was really nice, a good selection with a greek speciality everyday and always chips. There was fresh bread every mealtime as well which was lovely. The only grip we did have was the all inclusive option with drinks was only until 10pm then you had to buy your drinks which isn't the idea i have of all inclusive. The entertainment staff were great especially James who was great fun. The staff were friendly, polite and welcoming. What we were told on arrival at the welcome meeting was that the hotel was a 4 star last year but the hotel downgraded itself to a 3 star but travel agents are still selling it as a 4 star. It isn't a 4 star and maybe this is where the bad reviews come from. Go expecting a 3 star hotel and you won't be disappointed.
Even Kavos was not the nightmare i thought it would be as it was early in the season so it was very quiet, we spent most of our time at Marias famous Karaoke bar which was fab and so friendly, we went back night after night. Also I recommend walking to Arkcoudilla beach, it a gorgeous half hour walk through mountains and secluded tracks to a lovely beach which you practically have to yourself. From the hotel walk towards Kavos once your past the tavern on your left take the footpath with the sign that points to the monestry and someone has also convientently put up a sign that says to the beautiful beach. Its worth the walk.
So please ignor the bad reviews, I reckon people just like to have a moan, it is a really lovely complex, great value for money and I wouldn't hesitate to book again. Try the beach, go to Marias you will have a great holiday.
Advice: Go early in the season if your not an 18-30, its really quiet and everyone is really friendly.

Submitted By: Mr ID KenyonThis hotel is fantastic. It only ranks a seven because of the room situation described below, and even that was resolved.
First to put things in context. I went with my wife and two babies in one room and my parents in another. We were visiting the island for a family celebration in a nearby village.
We arrived late at night to be met by the security guard described on here as unhelpful. He was less than forthcoming to be fair, but he did show us to our rooms. Off complex just across the lane that led to reception. for me this was an advantage. Out of earshot of the nightly entertainment and a degree of privacy when sitting out on the terrace.
Our biggest problem was we paid for a duplex and were put in a double room. thats Me the wife and two cots for the babies. this was rediculous! there was no room to move, teh kids couldnt sleep because of teh proximity we were in and we were promised a change of room the next day. this promise never came to pass until the Tuesday, when we were finally moved to a two bedroom family room. this was more like it!!!
The accomodation is clean, the staff are very friendly, and i enjoyed the mix of nations, notably from the Czech republic. The beer may be watered down, but it's free and you can have as much as you like, so whats the problem?
The pool was excellent, clean and well managed, with music load enough to enjoy, but not banging. The babies loved the small pool, which was just deep enough, without being a worry.
There are a lot of wasps in kavos, but head to the bar, get a coke or juice and "spill" it away from where you are sitting (is in the bushes somewhere). this resolves the stinging problem.
Corfu is a great island, the people are warm and fiendly, and make an effort to get off the ebaten track. Stop in the little villages, head in to the bar and sit back and watch the world, just be prepared to lose and hour or two and you'll love it.
If you do stay at Sea gardens, and want a nice afternoon out, hire a car and head back towards kavos. take the second road on your left after the Lay By, and then first right. follow the road as high as you can (through Spartera) and stop of at Fantasia (fish restaurant) for a drink and to take in the views, then continue along the road dropping into a village called Dragotina. Here visit the Youka Bar, and have a coffee or three. When you are finished head back the way you came, or continue through Neohori and across the main road into Lefkimi, whene you should head down the river to the waterfront. Heading back, turn down the main road and head back towards Kavos stopping at St Peters Beach, before driving through Kavos itself for a really nice curcuit tour.
Hope this all helps, have a lovely holiday!

Pool was lovely and the water sports on the beach went down a right treat!! They were wicked!!!!!
Cocktails were nice and only 2 drinks per person wasnt that bad but the alcohol was watered down so we ended up buying vodka from the shop and adding it ourselves! oh and the tequila tasted like white spirit!! Barmen were wicked tho and we dont think that Spieros should of been sacked!haha
Food started off okay at the beggining of the week but think it got re heated towards the end but it wasnt that bad as we didnt really eat much but if you have a big appetite you may have struggled to be satisfied!
Entertainment was funny to watch as we just laughed until it got very annoying but guess some of the kids liked it!!
Only other small critisism is that it was a bit too far away from the strip but was nice to be out of the way in the day time and the walks home sobered us up! (obviously not enough when we got 7 complaints in one night tho) haha love that.
All in all a good holiday and the reviews don't give the hotel justice! VERY good value for money! And recommend it for a nice but cheap place if you book early enough!
KAVOS 08 - Bang on it!
x
