I got back from Kavos in September...
10 / 10
Aug 2005, Miss Zoe Taylor

I got back from Kavos in September and i absolutely loved the place.. it was great!
Everyone has complained about the security guard so far, but i thought he was really funny and friendly once you got to talk to him.
In response to the above comment, I don’t think Kavos is a dirty place at all.. I just think that the drunken people about all adds to the atmosphere, everyone knows that Kavos is a clubbing resort so that’s what you should have expected.
The bar staff (LUV YA SPIROS AND ROSY) were so friendly - and the reps Paul Katie and Stephen were lovely.
The apartments were great.. close to the entertainment and quite close to the nightlife.. me my friend and cousin usually waited until the bar had closed at 2:00 and then wandered up to town.. after the bars had closed at 6.00am we headed back towards the lay-by 24hour bar..!! Loads of late nights (or early mornings...whatever) HAHA! Kavos is brill for nightlife.. I loved it.
The day was great for spending with my family and chilling by the pool.. also the excursions to Aqualand and Corfu By Night were excellent.

In total opposition to the earlier...

Jun 2005, Mr G Murphy

In total opposition to the earlier review I thought Sea Gardens in Astro Kavos was a brilliant resort!
I have just come back with my partner from a brilliant time there. Fair enough the transfer is long (about 1hr 30 mins) but its nice to take in the scenery of the island on the way down.
Upon arrival you can see the Sea Gardens is very smart and clean with a village like lay out of apartments and studios,
there is a massive pool and loads of sun beds and brollies for everyone.
There is a beach a right in front of the resort and fair enough its not the best beach but its got the water sports, clean water and is a brilliant sun trap.
The bar is quote pricey in comparison to other bars but no more expensive than back home (UK), the entertainment is typical of most holidays with good performances from reps.
The resort has a mini market on site for all your shopping needs and reception are very friendly. I good touch is a courtesy room as with a 12pm check out if your flight is in the evening you can book into a room for to shower etc free of charge.
I feel on any holiday to take full advantage of where you are you need to get out of the resort. Corfu is a stunning island and the excursions the reps organise are brilliant. I took captain Theos BBQ island hopper and a trip to Corfu town shopping at night then watch the sunset at sea. Both where great.
Kavos does get lively by night, the reps trying to get you in bars can be a pain though a friendly no works. You can go for meals, a quiet drink, lively drink, watch latest films not out in UK cinema and even ten pin bowling. Just a few things on offer in Kavos.
It is so cheap to eat out in Corfu and a 5 minute walk from Sea gardens brings you to several families run restaurants. I would highly recommend the Rose Tree Tavernas, the owner is so friendly and the food is divine. An example of what I had was a fresh chicken salad for starter, fresh sword fish steak, salad, potatoes for main and chocolate cake for desert...worked out about £7!
Don’t be put off by the lively side of Kavos as there is so much more to see. Just stay clear of the madness!

AIRPORT TRANSFER The transfer from...
2 / 10
Jul 2003, J, J and R Craig

AIRPORT TRANSFER The transfer from the airport took forever as the rep spent ages checking everybody in and we were the last stop. The bus was far to hot and it was around 4am so it was pretty unpleasant. To get to out hotel in Aspro Kavos (about a 5 minute walk from Kavos) we had to go through Kavos and the driver had to dodge the many drunks weaving about the road! First impressions weren’t good, there were McDonalds, KFC and tacky sex shops. ACCOMODATION The reception area was very nice and the reception staff were friendly enough, however as we were a late booking we were allocated a room far out of the main complex, and we were only pointed in the direction by a very unfriendly security guard. It took us around half an hour to actually find our apartment and it was terrible - like a dungeon! However all credit to the rep who got us moved into a new apartment in the morning. The new apartment was actually two studios that had been knocked together and were very spacious, with two bathrooms and were clean, bright and airy with a huge balcony overlooking lovely gardens. The equipment in the tiny kitchen were basic to say the very least, we had one electric ring that didn’t heat up enough to cook anything, a tiny fridge and a toaster that took about half an hour to cook one slice of bread! The maids were brilliant and cleaned the apartment thoroughly and changed the sheets regularly. The pool was very big and there were enough sunbeds and brollies for everyone. The entertainment reps worked very hard to keep everyone happy, all credit to them - Louise, Katie and Stephen. The bar was hugely over priced but there was a happy hour and most people bought their drink then or at the on site supermarket which was cheaper and well stocked with most things. The food was nice although a bit samey and the restaurant and bar staff were very friendly. There was a big screen in the indoor bar where they showed football, Big Brother etc. The Greek night was a good laugh with Greek dancing and plate smashing etc. RESORT Aspro Kavos can’t exactly be considered a resort as all it consists of is a few apartment complexes and the odd restaurant or two. As Kavos is really only for the young and fearless (haha) this is REALLY not the place for families at all. Kavos is dirty and smelly and full of drunks! The beach is also dirty with empty beer cans and used condoms lying around! Really really horrible resort. All in all we did have a good holiday only because we met some really nice people and the accommodation was alright but we never moved out of the complex the whole week we were there because Kavos is such a dump, sorry but just don’t go because you will regret it!
