Just returned from Sea Gardens we stayed for two weeks and to be honest we had a lovely time. The weather was fantastic and the entertainment team worked hard at trying to please everyone. The cabaret shows were good, the food was not to everyone's liking but we always managed to find a choice we liked.
The only thing I found disappointing was the pool side snacks, very boring and tasteless. Could be improved a lot. One day I saw the bbq being lit only to find it was the manager cooking a fish for himself! Shame they didn't put one on for the guests, it would have been nice. The only down side was the wasps which invaded everything, we avoided being stung but plenty of people were.
The rooms were nice and clean and staff were friendly and helpful, we walked into Kavos a couple of times during our stay just for a different meal. We tried an Indian which also served Chinese which I must say was the worst Indian I have ever tasted, so best to avoid. Another evening we went to a Tex Mex and had a wonderful steak meal, highly recommended. We stayed in the town till about half 11 before all the party goers came out.
All in all a very enjoyable holiday, we would go back.

We absolutely loved this place, I have no idea what all the other moaners on this page actually expected considering they chose to come to KAVOS and for the price they paid. Penny pinching doesn't pay off. We wanted a cheap last min holiday we could enjoy for all the family and chose this place because it fitted all the requirements.
It was such a clean fun loving place and the relaxed environment made it the perfect place to go. I'm really shocked by what some people expect, if your want the Ritz, maybe you should book the Ritz!
Anyway the entertainment was amazing, time table was switched round every two weeks so you never see the same show twice, except Greek night and that was worth seeing twice! We met some lovely people while we were there and our little one did not want to come home.
The staff remembered us after the first night and really made an effort to include us in the day and night time entertainment (Gina especially!), and they would all come over for a drink after they had finished. The bar staff were lovely and remembered what drinks we all liked. The drinks only come in plastic glasses till 8, and this is standard practise for health and safety reasons, with so many kids running around by the pool a broken glass could prove horrendous!
The rooms were bright, cleaned every day and the maids came back later if you needed a lie in!
All in all we had a really good hol, £1200 for two adults and a child and well worth every penny.

Well me and my boyfriend went to...

Well me and my boyfriend went to Corfu Sea Gardens on 3rd of September, the hotel itself looked lovely and the rooms were nice. The pool was massive but really cold, the sea water was warmer. The things I really didn’t like about the hotel was that it was swarming with wasps you couldn’t even have a drink next to you cos there would be loads of wasps trying to get in your drink but obviously it wasn’t the hotels fault apparently it was full in all of Kavos.
Also the food was horrible it was the same thing every single day, I lived on chips and pasta every single meal the pudding was nice, plenty ice-cream and jelly ha. The hotel was clean and the maids came in every day with clean towels etc, the reception staff were friendly but the night man who was on every night was a prick which I noticed plenty of people have commented on here.
The hotel was about a 15 min walk to Kavos itself but it wasn’t too bad as we hired a quad we went to a few places to eat and think all the food wasn’t nice in Kavos, the best place was McDonalds. But don’t know why I should eat out when we had paid all inclusive!! Also you were served drinks in little plastic cups you could get 2 drinks at a time per 1 person and the drinks all stopped at 11pm, also the only snacks through the day were little sandwiches with 1 piece of ham and a slice of cheese in a tiny bit of bread and these little pastie things that had nothing in it was like eating a ball of pastry. So we still had to go out for something else to eat cos restaurant times were 8-10. Breakfast was horrible, only got up once for it dinner was 12-2 and tea was 7-9.30 so we had our dinner at 12 and was hungry again at 3 and the was no hot food for snacks.
The night time entertainment was pretty crap basic things and it was outside with metal seats which were so uncomfortable and it was so cold everyone was sitting with coats on and blankets round them.
So overall the hotel and pool were nice and clean but all the rest of facilities etc were pretty crap I wouldn’t go back to Kavos again also I got bit 8 times off mosquitoes I think it was them anyways.
So beware if your scared of wasps don’t go to Corfu.

Was a little bit concerned before we went due to some reviews and have to say in the main I agree with the negative reports. Resort is generally tardy and certainly not 4* that Med Travel offer it at.
ROOMS - smelly (damp) although reasonably clean. Had a problem initially after being given a room that was horrendous (1202) but the Med Travel rep kindly sorted that put and the second room (305) was better. The shower you have to hold but temperature was ok. Maids only did our room 3 times while we were there.
STAFF - always courteous and friendly.
FOOD - this was where it fell down big time. Horrid slop is all I can say. Every meal horrid.
There were so many wasps it was hard to relax at all, although we did not find mosquitoes a problem.
We found a lot of rowdy people there too.
Sorry to paint a grim picture, but this was our experience.

Please don't waste your money by booking here!
We were disappointed with every aspect of the accommodation! Staff are rude and our room was not even up to 2* standard!
Food is repetitive and basic; drinks are served in plastic cups and have less taste than water!
In summary if you stay here you will experience cold naff showers, wasps, kebab wrappers, obnoxious children, loud children’s reps (Day & night), and a tacky illuminous yellow wristband!
Anyone who rates it above a 5 is MAD!
Only positive is you get 20mins free on a pedelo, seriously that was the best thing about our holiday.

Well like everyone else I had read the awful reviews, and can only presume that people have nothing better to do on holiday than sit and pick fault. I have had a 10 night holiday with my daughter here and cannot wait to return.
The hotel was clean, friendly, and for our needs absolutely perfect. The entertainment was by far better than some we've seen, and the food was perfectly adequate. The rooms are spacious and well maintained, and certainly comfortable.
As for the drinks being watered down, I fail to see how considering we were tipsy most nights, and didn't start drinking until 8pm.
Kavos is nearby and as I have walking difficulties I relied on taxi's which are easily accessible and very reasonable. The drivers speak good English too.
All in all this was my best holiday so far and how can you go wrong with a hotel so close to the beach, with loungers available and a lovely huge pool which at the height of season never became overcrowded. I can't wait to book for next year. Thank you Sea Gardens!

I just got back from Corfu Sea...

I just got back from Corfu Sea Gardens and loved every minute of it.
Food and drink: The drinks were not as watered down as I expected, well I could definately taste the vodka. The only problem with the bar was that you were only allowed two drinks at a time. I didn’t really mind because who can blame them, when there is a long queue. The bar stopped selling all inclusive drinks at 11pm which was disappointing but you get used to it. Also the bar staff are very friendly (Costas and Rula) they were 2 of the main bar staff. Moving on to the food, well I wouldn’t say excellent. There was chips every day (which is ok for the kids) I think there wasn't enough choice of food but I always managed to find something to eat!
Entertainment: some nights the entertainment was dull, but some nights the entertainment was amazing. The entertainment staff are all very friendly, my daughter’s favourite part of the entertainment was kid’s hour, where they did a mini disco (she loved the mimic man, even most teenagers joined in).
Rooms: The room we stayed in was spacious; the bathroom didn't have a bath only a shower. The shower was a bit powerless but it didn't matter as it still got me clean.
Overall the holiday was really good, I would recommend it for families with teenagers (Kavos is only a 10 minute walk.). I’m definately going back next year as I loved it so much. I wouldn't listen to any of the bad reviews but every one has there own opinions. Thank you for taking your time to read this.

Having read other reviews after I had...

Having read other reviews after I had booked my holiday I was very worried about this destination and hotel. How wrong some people were. I found the hotel to be well kept, very clean and the staff to be helpful and friendly. Aspro Kavos is a quiet village setting a couple of miles from Kavos.
The rooms are clean and spacious; plenty of wardrobe space, each has its own patio or balcony area with a patio table and chair set. There was a TV that had quite a good selection of Satellite channels. The bathroom, spacious with a toilet, hand basin and shower, only problem with the shower was the hot water pressure could have been stronger.
The food and drinks, I wish bottled water had been included in the All Inclusive package. However there were plenty of drinks to choose from both soft and alcoholic.
The food was plentiful, some Greek food and for the less adventurous chips and boring Burgers/fish finger type meals, I guess really they are for the kids but it always surprises me how many Brits never try local cuisine!
Must try the Honey is scrummy and has Thyme in it which takes away the really sickly sweetness of the honey, the best honey I have ever tried. Also the fish was very fresh and cooked to perfection as well.
Entertainment - is well presented and the animators are very friendly.
Site seeing - went on a couple of trips, the boat trip to Paxos and Anti Paxos is one to go on. Great value for money and excellent fun.
The Airport - when departing is manic, be prepared to stand in lots of different queues for over an hour, we queued for just over 2 hours before we got close to the boarding gates
All in all "A great trip" and has made me want to go back and explore more Greek Islands

Hotel - Was very clean well looked after and is the best holiday I have ever experienced.
Entertainment - We went with 10 adults and 10 children and not one of the 20 didn’t like the entertainment we all had a laugh. Also the reps were really, really friendly we all made friends with them and were sad to say good-bye they all played with the children and had fun with the adults.
Bar/restaurant - They were constantly working, always friendly to the children.
Food - All we have to say was that it was perfect for all inclusive and we don’t have one bad point about the catering.
Cleaning - The cleaning was fantastic we had our beds made every day and our sheets and towels changed every other day they also never woke you up in the morning they would come back and clean.
The room - It was spacious, clean. The bathrooms were massive, the beds wear very, very comfortable and the facilities were just what you needed for a relaxing stay at the Corfu sea gardens hotel.

Just returned from Corfu Sea Gardens....
6 / 10
Sep 2006, Mr D Wright

1 reader found this review helpful

Just returned from Corfu Sea Gardens. Lovely complex, small but fairly new and very clean. We had a family room just for the two of us which was great until kicking out time when they wouldn't let us stay on in the room or transfer rooms to catch up sleep. As it turned out we had to last 25 hours without sleep.
I will list the negative points first. Driving through Kavos is like the land of the zombies as the living dead, dragging their feet, half naked, fall into anything in their way including moving vehicles. The place is like a Blackpool without any class-a wild west Blackpool. Kavos could easily be Dodge or Tucson . The air around the complex had a very strong smell of sulphur.
Some said it was sewage, but as I live downwind of the largest sewerage farm in Europe I should know, it was sulphur. The canteen was clean and the food good. It just tied you to the complex, and by the end of the week I just wanted to 'eat out'. The drinks seemed weak and the queues at night are too long and as you can only have two drinks per visit it becomes a bore. You don't go on holiday to queue up for most of your evenings.
The entertainment is basic. Two 'shows', a Greek night, three quiz nights (Family Fortunes etc) and Karaoke. All self entertainment. And for the Bingo lovers it’s twice in the week - one game per session played out to stupid noises-jump up and say yehaa if you win. Dodge City creeps into the 'Sea Gardens'. The 'Animation' staff are all pleasant enough-even more so if you are young and free because it is with you that they will spend most of their time-am I right Katie?
The daytime entertainment goes by without notice. I'd like to say that they tried hard but I can't. The staff from a sister complex join them for the two shows and they seemed much more professional. Final gripe, mosquitoes, they bit everyone. The shop did a roaring trade on candles. Only one family failed to be bit and they bought the local spray and not one from home-a lesson learnt.
Oh one more! The beach is terrible. Cloudy water. You have to walk along the beach towards Kavos for several hundred metres before the water clears and the strip weed appears. The whole of the beach is unloved. Two o'clock when the zombies arise the beach fills up. I will not miss it.
Another gripe. The two very pretty receptionists can say NO and GO AWAY or SOD OFF without you even realising what they have inferred, and they do so with beautiful smiles and a total lack of service. It’s raining- 'get wet', can someone help me and my crippled husband to our room? -'we are unable to offer that service', can I keep my room on for a few extra hours I am willing to pay?-'come back in the morning when we will tell you no then'.
The plus points. Good food, great pool, clean room. The Greek staff miserable, the Polish staff, most of them-lovely and polite. Can’t think of anything else.
If you want to see Corfu don't go all inclusive and avoid Kavos. All in £800 including spending. I'd rather go to Thassos.

Well were do I begin? When we booked...
3 / 10
Sep 2006, Mr M J Kirman

1 reader found this review helpful

Well were do I begin? When we booked our holiday we read all the comments on this page and thought what the hell have we let ourselves in for (that’s is my wife and I and our two children) but we went with an open mind thinking things can't be that bad. What a shock we were in for.
The story begins. Early and traveled to Cheadle, just outside Manchester were have tea at the pub. From there we traveled to our car park and then went on to the airport. The flight across was brill, we got our cases and headed out for our transfer. We arrived at our transfer desk and the young Greek girl there didn't have a clue as to how we were going to get to our hotel. Eventually after 3/4 of an hour we got a transfer sorted.
On arrival at the hotel we were greeted and welcomed and the miserable security man showed us to our apartment. We went to bed it was 05:30 in the morning. We missed our welcome meeting at 11:00 as nobody told us so we had some lunch and ventured out to the pool. Nice apartments, nice pool but all dumped in the middle of what should be a council waste tip. The beach is none existent the free pedalos and canoe's we couldn't use for the first 4 days.

Also if you were sat down wind you could smell the stench of human waste which attracted the mozzies which don’t hesitate to bite and bite often. The food was very repetitive, kids not really catered for as my son lived on chip butties and my daughter on salads for eleven days. The hotel entertainment was poor and was provided by the guests for the guests. Daily entertainment for the kids doesn't exist so i hope you can entertain your own kids. The all inclusive drinks were given in them little white cups used for tea and coffee and the beer sorry to say was watered down and drinks given with plenty of ice and very little sprits. The snack bar consisted of what was left over from the dining room or small Greek pastries which kids don’t eat.

We booked two trip what a disaster. The first was a trip on a glass bottom boat and an evening in Corfu. We got to the glass bottom boat at 5 o'clock in the evening only to find out that we weren't booked on it so we left at 5.30 to have to come back at seven. The boat left at 7.30 and we arrived back at 08.30 and we had to be back at the bus at 8:45 so we didn't get to see Corfu by night. The second trip went better. All the time we were on the trip we had no rep & the bus driver was dangerous.

All in all it was a poor place to go but what made our holiday worth while was the friends we met and the friendships forged. If you what some sound advice and believe me I learnt the expensive way, book with a leading travel company even if it does cost you a few quid more and at least you'll get value for money because I feel we didn't. In future I won’t be using Hayes Travel or Medhotels as they provided poor advice and services. Thank you for taking the time to read this and please learn from my mistakes because I have.

Spent an ok week at the Corfu Sea...
4 / 10
Sep 2006, Mr M T  Reade

1 reader found this review helpful

Spent an ok week at the Corfu Sea Gardens. Our main gripe was that the All inclusive drinks package that the hotel runs limits you to two tiny glasses of drink at a time. This means that at peak times in the evening vast queues form at the bar. The Pool bar was the only one running outside of meal times, at which point they open a bar within the restaurant area. There is another bar, the 'Main Bar' but it was never open while we were there, so is misleading in all literature at the place.
The Flights to and from Corfu this year have been in the latest parts of the night or very early mornings. Thus you were expected if you want your room and all the facilities they entail to pay an extra 25 euros to keep it for the six hours from 12 chucking out time to six pm. Then you have to sit around waiting for your transfer. The other thing with this is that the 12 noon check out time means that your AI package also stops, unless you book a room extension - or pay 10 euros per person.
Our Aircon worked at no extra charge, but it dripped all the time and was positioned dangerously over a light so it dripped onto the live electric source! We switched that light off never to be used again.
On the whole the food was edible, although I felt that the menu was limited and the meat cuts were the scrag end - or cuts you didn't really ever see. To say it was all inclusive you seemed to be being fed either meals that were made up of reconstituted ingredients from previous meals or were of a substandard nature - we ended up eating out the latter end of the holiday - I don’t suggest you eat in unless you have a hardy constitution and a bland palate - when you go to Greece you expect some good food Corfu Sea Gardens does not have that. We ended up eating most nights at either the Rose Tree or Venus both a short walk up the road.
Not having kids with us we didn't avail ourselves of the kids clubs, which although present didn't offer much. I would have expected the entertainment staff to run things earlier, but of an evening every night there was kid’s session from 8pm to 9pm. Too late in my view. And if I hear one more song "chichy wa, chichy wa, chichy wa wa waa" I'll scream.....
The last thing is the night porter/watchman - he was a menace - if you like to sit up quietly chatting and causing no problems - and certainly no complaints were made - he still patrols - and insists you turn in. He ended up making more of a noise than we did. He was a little too up himself.
So All in all I will not go back - but then Corfu is the least interesting of the Greek isles. It’s Greece Mainland or Spain next year - and no more all inclusives.
