We stayed at the Teguisol for a week in February and had a great time.
The apartments were very basic but they were spacious. We didn't care too much about the decor as we were only there to sleep and thankfully we didn't see any cockroaches. There were lots of cats that would follow you back to the apartment or come up to you while you're sitting around the pool - we didn't see this as a negative as others have, on the contrary we thought it was quite nice.
We were self catering and I was pleased about this as I would have been extremely disappointed if I'd gone all inclusive. We didn't eat in the restaurant there, as we preferred to go into the resort itself where we ate in a couple of good places. The evening entertainment at teguisol is dire but the daytime kids club gets 10/10.
One of the reasons we had such a great time is because of the way things are set up for kids - our two are 9 and 6. The complex is quite small and so they soon got to know other children which meant they had a good time. there is a kids pool which we sat around during the day. Although the pool was freezing it didn't seem to put the kids off and they had a ball. The kids club was run by Krissie who was absolutely fantastic.
We did a couple of day trips - the volcano park was good as was the wild west place but we thought the market was a rip off. The weather when we went was generally good although it was chilly at night so don't forget your fleeces if you go in Feb! The beach was too windy, and the kids didn't like it, so we tended to stay by the pool - the resort isn't known as breezy Teguise for nothing!
all in all we had a great time. if you want all inclusive or great on site entertainment then I wouldn't recommend this, however if you want to be able to relax by the pool while the kids play with other kids then you will be fine.

Were worried when read other reviews but was very happy with our stay .If there was a problem it was delt with straight away would go back again. The staff were very friendly and helpful. So if you are going soon dont take any notice of the bad reviews as there is every thing you need .The bus service on the island is very good and would recommend a visit to Pto Del Carmen but is very hot as there is no wind like costa teguise. It is very expensive to eat out but there are loads of supermarkets with in easy walking distance that all sell lots off english foods.Very enjoyable holiday with no problems at all.
- Advice: very windy but not a cold wind 'would have been to hot without the wind

This hotel was very basic but nice and clean, when you check in you get a map of the complex but it's not as complicated as it looks by the end of the day you know your way around. If you're in one of the furthest rooms from receptin getting your cases to your room is a bit of a challenge involving stairs and ramps but we ound that quite amusing.
The rooms were basic - only 2 plates and he cupboards were uneven but the maid came everyday and the room was kept nice and clean. The swimming pool was lovely and there's an onsite shop as well, the pool bar wasn't great but as it's only 10 mins wak to the beach it's much nicer to walk over there and have lunch near the sea instead. Overall it was a nice quiet relaxing holiday and I'd defiately recommend it.
Also the trip to playa blanca and el golfo was good value and really worth visiting whilst your there.

arrived in april for a weeks holiday and would not stop there again.read the reviews before and was a bit nervous about what to expect but i will just say this.the best thing about the hotel was the reception people who were quite helpful but as for anything else forget it.we arrived and given keys to apartment which looked bad orange and green walls.dirty settee which was very worn electrics not secured and dangerous then went in bathroom and was mouldy and you just would not have a bath dirty.even worse went to go to bed as we arrived late and the sheets had stains on them and the pillows smelt.went back to reception and gave us another room which was cleaner but then heard funny noise ahh cochroaches just great. by morning went to reception handed in keys and moved to another hotel called costa sal also a 3 star which was a hundred times better.believe everything they say negative about this hotel we are not posh or expect great things just after a average good holiday.
- Advice: NOT TO STAY THERE GO TO PUERTO DEL CARMEN OR MATAGORDA
- Activities: SIRROCO AT MATAGORDA GREAT FOOD. JAMEOS DE AQUA GOOD PLACE TO VISIT.

I read some bad reviews about this hotel but went ahead and booked it anyway. Of all the hotels and holidays I have been on before this was definitely the best. We checked in about 5pm and Daniella on reception was really welcoming and gave us loads of information. Jennifer who is in charge of entertainments was brilliant and really friendly. Emma who was our rep (but sadly leaves on wed) was a credit to Thomas Cook. Paul off reception was also really helpful and friendly. There is a little shop on the complex which sells all the necesseties, and the lady that works in there is English and really nice. There are 2 swimming pools one is just for adults which was nice. The pool bar is open from morning till about 5pm ish and sells snacks like omlettes etc and the old English Pub which is opposite reception opens at 5pm till 12.30am.
There are quite a few apartments on the complex and some are situated quite away from the main hotel, we were in apartment 405 which was brilliant location, try and ask for this. Its only 1 bedroom but the bedroom is a good size and the front room and kitchen are really nice. The TV is coin opperated at 1 Euro per hour but your not there to watch TV!
I cant understand why people wrote bad reviews on this place, we will definitely be going again.
The Town centre is about a 15 minute walk but its a nice one, we got taxis back of a night time but it never cost more than 4 Euros.
We went on the volcano trip which was really good and cost just over 40 Euros each. If u go for the wine tasting part of it dont bother, you get a choice of a shot of sweet or dry and leave 10 mins later and the lunch that you go for which isn't included in the price isn't too good either.
Try and get to the lighthouse bar/restaurant. Gemma and the rest of the staff that work there are all really nice. The other restaurants in the area are all really nice and reasonably priced

Just returned from 14 nights at Teguisol and enjoyed the holiday very much - despite cloudy, dull weather for first 9 days! We found the apartment very good value for what we'd paid. We didn't expect 5* but we were totally comfortable and very pleased with what we got. Everywhere was very clean and all of the staff were lovely and friendly. The maid service was excellent with clean towels virtually every day.
We would certainly return to this complex.

After reading some of the reviews I was a bit worried, please don't let them put you off, my wife and I are a bit fussy but realise that price = quality you get what you pay for, these appartments though a bit dated are huge we had two terraces [one was 15ft by 30ft]in the rooms was a fridge, toaster, hob, kettle and microwave.the lady at the onsite supermarket was like all of the rest of the staff very pleasant and helpful, and the prices were reasonable, I was informed by the manager that the restaraunt had ceased to trade [the poolside bar does snacks so you can have hot food at three to five euros] also there were lots of cafes etc within a three/five minute walk so that did not matter the town center is about a mile and half away a nice slow comfortable twenty minute walk away a taxi back after a meal and a drink was under four euros, or if you turn left out of reception keep on the footpath and follow the round within five minutes you are in the middle of a load of bars and cafes including Legends bar,the cleaners came in every day towels changed beds made etc, ok the cats are roaming around the complex but you won't see any rats or mice!!! the place is a bit open sercurity wise but would you leave valueables in your room in any hotel whist you were out.will definately use this hotel again. we went 2 these appartments 4 a chill week after and took our daughter who is 14 we also took her friend , the appartments were huge a bit dated and couch faded we were in 318 but they were spotless, there was a fridge freezer a full size cooker a toaster ,kettle and microwave (where else do u get all that without having to hire them ) we were facing the pool which was cleaned out every day our room was cleaned almost everyday .,the staff were very friendly .There was not much entertainment on due to low arrivals but if it was busy they were willing to bingo or quizzes. There was a happy hour every nite 2. If u cut passed the pool and go through the back of the appartments and walk down the hill u r 2 min from shops & bars. The food at ledgends is very good .If u go 2 cactus jacks or the irish bar u can get a breakfast 4 2 euros if u go before 12 after 12 it is 3 euros .The entertainment at cactus jacks is good 2 happy hours and is very freindly and table service. There is also good entertainment at ledgends and got loads of things 2 keep small kids amused. If you want more choice you are about 15 min away from main resort just walk round the front way.

i've just got back from a two week holiday in Costa Teguise. The apartments were VERY basic. We ate in one night and what should have taken 20 mins to cook, took 1 hour because the cooker wasn't working properly. We had family staying nxt door, we had to share a toaster, glasses and other things with them because we didn't have a lot of things in our apartment. The pool is saltier than the sea. No Lifeguard. Pull out bed in apartment was very uncomfortable. The supermarket didn't have much in but the staff were very happy. Reception was helpful; our toilet broke they fixed about 20 mins after we reported it. The whole complex needs re-decorated. They definatly need to get rid of the cats they follow you into your apartment. The kids disco was absolutly rubbish. We also had family downstairs their door couldn't shut from the outside if they didn't have the key so they climbed over the balcony (they were on th ground floor). Not a place for families with kids under 10. Also we noticed that there were fences round the other complexes, this one anybody can just walk in, from the stairs on the back. This needs to be addressed. IF you've got a family who want evening entertainment then DON'T GO HERE.

After reading some of the comments before we went, we were abit worried....DON'T BE!
There is a new Manager, & he's very keen to impress. Maid visited everyday, clean bedding several times & towels every other day. Kids club (Thomas Cook) Fab. No Cockroaches (Visited Los Zocos last year & had loads in room)
This was a relatively cheap holiday, so we didn't expect 5*, this was much better than expetced, & we were all sorry to leave (The towels are abit thin though!)

I visited the Teguisol apartments in April 209 with my mum and younger sister when my mum looked for other reviews about the Teguisol apartments we did find some very un-inviting ones but mum wehn ahead and booked.Arriving at the appartments we were checked in with no problems and found our room. The complex was clean and tidy the sam as our room, All the staff were very helpful the pool on site is a salt water one but we spent many happy hours by it.Only being a short walk away from the main shops and restraunts(although the food onsite was good) that is were we ate most of the time our personal favrouite was Cactus Jacks we also got to watch a drag act witch was very funny.Booking our exursions with the holiday rep was worth it because you knew exactly what and were you were.
At the end of the day your paying for 3 star expect 3 star it was an amazing holiday and would definatly return there .
