Having stayed at the Teguisol apartments on a half board booking we were very disappointed. The food was the worst we have ever experienced on any holiday. Sad to say, as food is an important part of a holday, hoping to taste local fare. The rooms were basic, furnishings very tired. The mattresses were in a poor state and by the end of the holiday we both had sore backs, something we don't normally suffer from. After two days into the holiday we complained to the holiday rep. and were permitted to change to self catering and received money back. What a relief. We could now experience what the island had to offer. It's a pity that the owners of Teguisol Apartments don't put a little extra effort into pleasing the holiday maker. Most people we spoke to, felt the same. In Britain we wouldn't accept such poor standards.

We read reviewes before going, were very worrried but there was nothing 2 worry about.Hotel was great. The staff were helpful and friendly. They could speak good english and understood us well.
Cleanliness was excellent, only saw 2 crocroaches (both dead) in our whole 2 wks.Rooms were often cleaned by maid.Pool was sal****er and freezing, but cleaned every day.
The food was excellent, but if u had tuna 1 day, it would be in with a pasta or something the nxt day!!!I just think of it as recycling lol!Soup or salad 4 starter, beef , chiken wings and fish etc. for main course with pasta and chips and burgers etc. Dessert was lush, but rice pudding looked like cat pee!!!! Custard, jelly, mousse, baked apples every night with a choice of ice cream.
Kids club was great and my children enjoyed it very much.Mini disco was good and our entertainer, Jennifer was a fab entertainer. Boring old bingo every night. But after that, a show came on like irish dancers, parrot show, tropicana show etc.
Beach was awsome, one day waves were 10ft high!Resort was so windy, but the hotel wasnt to blame.
Excellent. Would definetely go back if it wasnt so windy!
If u read the reviewes, dont worry, its a fabulous hotel.

We have just returned home from the Teguisol and had no problems with the accomodation.
We were really worred after reading reviews on here but really need not have worried.
We arrived at 2pm and the reception staff were very friendy, our room was right next to reception with a pool view, we booked January 2007 and got what we requested. Yes the room was basic but that is what we expected for 3 star but it was very very spacious. The biggest 6 person room we have stayed in.
After our first week we noticed that when people left builders went into the appartments, fitted full new bathrooms and new tiles on the floor and fully decrated the rooms. They worked really fast and within 2 days had completed a block. It appeared they were doing the whole complex.
The pool area was clean, we watched a man clean it daily and tidy up the sunbeds, maybe people who moan are not up in the mornings. The pool was sanitised a few times and water checked daily.
Our room was cleaned every day except Thursday and Sunday as this was the day new arrivals came so the cleaners were fully cleaning other rooms. Our room was cleaned to a good standard and the maid even put the children's pyjamas folded in lovely shapes on their beds daily.
We had a 6 person apartment which consisted of downstairs :- bedroom, lounge, dining/kitchen area and bathroom. upstairs :- 2 bedrooms and a toilet. We had a small balcony at the back and a huge balcony at the side.
We were half board and the food was fine, to be honest what you expect for 3 stars. There were at least 4 choices of main meal every night and we had warm food all the time, maybe those complaining ate later. There were 4 desert choices at least as well as fresh fruit. There was not much food for my children but if they were not so fussy they would have been fine.
Breakfast was 'typical' full cooked English breakfast, toast, fruit, cereals, yoghurt as well a choice of bread/ rolls, croisants etc.....
I heard many people moaning about the food but it sounded like they wanted 4* apartments/food for 3* prices.
I did find the location a little tucked away but it was only a 10 min walk to the main area. It as quiet but resorts usually are in March. The weather was not fantastic the 2nd week but again the chance you take holidaying so early in the year.
I have 4 children and they loved the kids club. Sadly one of my daughters took ill whilst we were there, we did not see the local doctors but there is an English doctor not far away. She went to the hospital on our return and has pneumonia :o( Nothing to do with the Teguisol.
I did find the staff helpful and friendly I would recommend this complex to anyone like I say you get what you pay for. If I could have afforded for my family to go to a 5* accomodation I would have done and expected 5* treatment.
Happy holidays :o)

This hotel was a mixed bag from the day we arrived to the day we left. There is soo much potential for this hotel with childrens facilities, pool, pool bar, location and the service provided. The reception staff were so friendly and couldnt be more helpful. The rooms we stayed in were very very very large, the biggest most spacious we have ever stayed in, the balcony alone was bigger than my front room. The only problem with this hotel was the cleanliness. It was slightly dated decor in teh rooms and the general cleanliess was poor. All it took was to clear up the mess and it would have been an absolutely fabulous place. The pool was salt water and very cold, although i didnt have a problem with this. But in teh two weeks i stayed at the hotel, i only saw a pool attendant cleaning the pool once. The baby pool was dirty and had hair bobbles and dirty along the bottom for several days. Due to the pool been so dirty it was very slippy along the bottom of the pool and around the pool area. THE SUNLOUNGERS were also very dirty and an ice cream stick was still there at the end of our holiday which was there when we arrived, unbelievable. I think they really should decorate the place and invest some money back into the hotel because its really letting them down with this amazing place. The evening entertainment was good, bingo every night and a different show each day of the week although one problem i noticed was that it was on a one week rota rather than two or three weeks. do people only stay for one week? Because after week once we sat and watched parrot shows, irish dancers, fire dancers etc over again in teh second week. There is a kids disco and bingo every night except monday which is their day of rest.
We went self catering but tried the hotel restaurant buffet one of the nights. There is ample variety and the food is nice. i was glad to see the restaurant is mcuh cleaner than the pool area and rooms. The buffet food and dessert were regularly replenished. There is supermarkets and other facilities on site orwithin minutes walking distance. i reall enjoyed the holiday but the standard of cleanliess was the only thing which really let us down. That and the wheather.. which unfortunately theycould not help! Thank you once again to the staff at Teguisol Apartments for making our holiday so enjoyable.

I have just returned from a week holiday in Costa Teguise in the Teguisol Appartments. It is a good job i didnt read the above reviews before i went otherwise i might have chosen not to go. However, i had a lovely time here. The breakfast is to a good standard and the dinner is fine on an evening and im a vegitarian and have special requirements so if i can be fed to a good standard i believe everyone else can. I didnt find any problems with the appartment at all, afterall its only somewhere to sleep on an night. I would recommend these appartments and will be returning back for another holiday next year hopefully. The staff were very helpful at all times, even after a 12 hour shift! The on site shops were open most of the day selling the essentialls such as snacks and sun creams. Yes the accomodation was satisfactory but as i said above there were no problems.
Try it out!

My husband and myself stopped at the Teguisol Apartments From Sun 9 March for 1 week self catering.
Personally, after reading reviews before we left, we were a little apprehensive to say the least.
When we initially arrived at 9.30pm, we were a bit disappointed with the reception area (it looked like it had been on fire!), but alas it hadn't it was 'authentic' decoration ! The reception staff were very helpful and spoke very good English. We were directed to our apartment, and was pleasantly surprised. It was basic, but it was clean. A very nice sized apartment also. It was a little disappointing though, to say the 2 single beds we were given were of different heights !! The kitchen equipment provided again, was basic, but we weren't planning on eating in the apartment.
We didn't wonder far on our first night, as it was dark and we had never been to that resort before so didn't want to lose our bearings.
Our first morning we were offered a welcome meeting from Thomas Cook, which I thought was very helpful. When we finally did venture out, again we were pleasantly surprised. The resort was very clean and very English. Although our beach (which was 500 metres away), wasn't a beach it was all rocks. But only a 10 minute walk away revealed a lovely (probably man made) beach, but was nice.
There are some lovely bars and restaurants around, I would recommend trying them as opposed to eating at the Teguisol Apartments. Although we never ate there, we spoke to alot of people who did, and they were very disappointed.
There is an excellent bar called the 'Lively Lady' just minutes down the road (3 euros in a taxi).... This is a drag queen bar but it well recommended. Fantastic atmosphere and great staff..... it's a must.
Also the trip to the volcanos is great. A full eventful and educational day with a camel ride. The market was recommneded to us - but we never got there
Do look around in local bars for cheaper trips than your rep can offer - Thomas Cook wanted 35 euros for the trip to the market - but we found a local Irish bar doing the same trip (but included Sunday Roast lunch for only 12 euros - big saving - so it is worth shopping around). Great English breakfasts too at many bars 2-2.5 euros for a full breakfast - great after the hang over.
Cleaning of our apartment was ok - our bedding was changed whilst we stayed there and our towels were meant to be changed each day - (but 2 days were missed), same with cleaning and bins emptied - again 2 days were missed.
We spoke to many other people from our apartments, some happy some unhappy - basically ours was a cheap holiday - so you get what you pay for.... but our apartment was just a base - so overall - it was a good holiday. We would probably go back to Lanzarote, but probably not to Teguisol Apartments.
Hope this has helped !!

rite hotel was not to the standard, enterainment mmm, well we were here when Donna, Dan, and Kate were our entertainers. they were fab to what the entertainment is the now. why didnt thomas cook keep them there. they were very close and always spoke to everyone. my kids loved the disco when they done it, and there shows were fab, even when they got the costumes for the boogie nite show lol was good, however thomas cook should get them three back into that hotel. Donna was fab gril very helpfull, enerjetic, and very warm to ppl she was of her head and grabbed ur attention at all times, she is a brilliant girl. she becomes a star id see her any day lol very nice girl made our holiday she did. since they have gone the place is not the same
veruy dirty, not alot of help from staff, and meals are horrible.
best way is to eat out cheaper and nicer.
beach is fab
bars are good
like i say come on thomas cook plz bring the team back.

First of all, congratulations if you are self-catering. If you are half board bad luck! Breakfasts are okay - hot and plenty of choice. Evening meals are atrocious - you will need to eat out later on or stock up on food at the many local supermarkets - evening meals served are of poor quality. bear no resemblance to the pictures above the dish and there is no choice of potato if you don't eat chips. Staff in restaurant miserable and bottles of water overpriced. We have put in a complaint to the complex and the Thomas Cook Rep and are awaiting some recompense for the meals we had to purchase later most evenings. The complex was clean and tidy and the staff friendly.Sheets and towels changed most days. The sal****er pool is cold at first but you soon warm up. Plenty of sunbeds. Poolside clean and tidy. Entertainment is a little "naff" - bingo and bird shows. Be aware that if you have your photo taken with the birds it will cost! Music is taped and the entertainment finishes at 11.30pm so you then have to leave the complex for more evening atmosphere. Drinks are cheap but price depends on who serves you! Complex has many steps so not so good for the less able or those with pushchairs but fine for most people. Map given on arrival to help you find your way around the complex. Overall an okay holiday but I would strongly advise that you make your own food arrangements.

Stay clear of this dump,i paid 1900 pound to stay in hell for two wks.On arrival we were put at the back of the complex, there was no kettle or cooking facilities and we had booked self catering. The tiles on the floor were all broken and we were greeted on arrival by two large cockroaches. The next day my husband requested a move nearer the pool for our two children and one with cooking facilities, the rep moved us to a large apt overlooking the pool, this was an even bigger dump. The balcony was infested with roaches and so was the bathroom. The bedroom the kids were sleeping in came to life at night the floor was covered with the damn things.I was in tears. As for the entertainment it was bingo for 10 mins a night and if you were lucky you got the parrot show. The pool bar opened and closed when it felt like it.The pools are salt water which they dont inform you so all your lotion is wiped off even the waterproof stuff, the amount of poor kids that were burnt to a crisp within an hr of being in the bloody thing was unbelievable. The maids appear when you ask,and if you ask for toilet roll (they give you one when you arrive) they ask what your doing with it..IT WAS TO WIPE THE BLOODY TEARS OUT MY EYES YOU FOOLS. I have had better holidays in Blackpool in 20 quid a night B & Bs.

Like many of the other holiday makers that have left reviews I too was a little apprehensive about staying at the teguisol apartments after reading the reviews on this site. However, I cannot believe that the negitive opinions expressed can really be justified. Like another reviewer mentioned these people must have 'beer money for champagne taste'!
The apartment itself was very spacious and clean. Yes probably in need of a lick of paint but do people really go on holiday and worry lots about decor! The towels and bed linen were changed regularly....sometimes everyday. The bathroom was lovely and if the temperature of the shower did alter it was for a milisecond so I really am not sure why this is a problem to some of the reviewers.
The food was good. Pleanty of choice for adults and children. Breakfast was great with a choice of cooked english breakfast, fruit, croissants, pastries, yougurt...to name but a few! The food in the evening was also good, the fish especially. We also ate out on a couple of nights as there are some lovely restaurants in Costa Teguise.
The evening entertainment wasn't brilliant but you would only probably stay for the entertainment if you had children and it suited ours fine. They had made lots of friends to enjoy the disco with. The entertainer also wasn't brilliant but the children seemed to enjoy her....maybe she could have put a little more effort in though. The birds of prey show and reptile show were good and the children really enjoyed them, but beware of being pestered to buy expensive photos afterwards....especially if you've had abit to drink already!
The staff were all really friendly and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. They were very helpful and im sure if there were any problems they'd be more than happy to help.
The excersions were abit pricy. We only went on the volcanic escape that cost us around £100 for a family of four. Afterwards though we thought it was well worth the money as they packed alot into the half day (Timanfaya National Park, camel ride, wine tasting etc...)
The pool was brilliant for our two children and they played safely and made lots of new friends. Yes there are missing tiles but this did not affect the fun that was had! One reviewer mentioned that they never saw the pool area cleaned....maybe they were still in bed as I saw it cleaned almost everyday. The area only got dirty because of the landscape and the famous Lanzarote wind...no cleaner could have kept it clean all day long.
All in all it really depends on what your holiday is about as to whether you find the Teguisol apartments as pleasent as we did. We went to spend good quality time together as a family. We did not worry ourselves about decor, how long the entertainment lasts for, whether there are enough knives and forks, whether every tile is present in the pool......We had a fantastic time and were sad to leave. Do not worry about these bad reviews as I'm sure you'll find them completely unjustified!

Apartment pretty basic but then again we didn't pay for " first class " one room for the girls & we had sofa - bed but very comfy. Cockroaches an added extra on a couple of occasions, but we wer'e prepared for it - and not as bad as expected - & easily dealt with. Wonderful pool - bit cold .... then we needed it cos so bloody hot ... evening entertainment good - Jenny & D.J. the d.j. were brill & good selection of music n stuff for both adults n kids....kids club fab..... Food OKish - bit repetitive but tasty... But hey - you don't spend your whole holiday at the hotel ... right ? Do ya ????? Fantastic value for money ................ but be prepared to save some breakfast for the hotel cats !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVED IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like many other people i was horrified to read some of the reviews i was actually going to cancel but decided against. The Appt from very spacious and basic but clean. We have no complaint about the bedding or towels. We did have a few ants but we bought some spray and that solved the problem. The entertainment was watchable and the kids seemed to enjoy the mini disco. Staff at reception were friendly and helpful.
