Teguisol Apartments

On arrival we were late we had 15 minutes before the evening meal ended. The receptionist told us to put our cases into the luggage room and get something to eat and she would sort us out after our meal. Always found the staff friendly and very helpful.
The food was ok and throughout our stay the food wasn't as bad as some people made out...not everyone lives on chips.
Any problems we had with the room were sorted out quickly.
The complex is dated and a bit run down...but a new manager had been appointed on the last few days we were there, and changes seemed to be happening.
The main thing about Teguisol is it has seen better days but the friendly and helpful staff make up for this, remember treat people how you would wish to be treated yourself.....something the Brits don't seem to grasp abroad.
The entertainment was limited in the evening, but as we were not far from the local pubs and bars...not a big problem.
Lanzarote itself is beautiful in a arid lunar way, local buses are cheap.It has plenty to see.
Hopefully they will refurb soon, because the complex doesn't do justice to it's excellent staff.

Me and my partner our 4 year old son and our friends son who is 12 have just returned from a week at the Teguisol. The apartements are not too bad very dated and a bit on the dirty side, the pools are ok but are both sal****er, the poolside bar is ok but don't order chips they come dripping in fat. Now the food in the restaruant well what can i say about that, i would not feed it to my dog it was horrible cold full of fat and stale please if you are thinking of going to this place DO NOT GO HALF BOARD we went to the restaurant twice even my 4 year old son said i don't like it here mummy. I can honestly say i won't be returning to this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this was the holiday from hell, i would not recommend this complex to anyone, the place was awful, the room they gave us had a cot in it as we had asked for but it was broken so they had tied it together with string, the whole complex has no air conditioning, the ramps for the pushchairs/wheelchairs are so steep that when walking up them you have to hold the hand rail to pull yourself up, it was like mountain climbing. the bins were constantly overflowing, the cleaners never came round our roomonce which we were told they would. the food we got for half board was so awful that some other holiday makers became ill, we had to spend more money to become self catering, the cleaners cleaned out the one drain and cockroaches were running everywhere, the only good thing about this holiday was the weather and the service of our holiday reps who were fantastic and tried to re locate us to no avail, overall a very bad holiday, has put me off going abroad ever again.

hi not long got back from this so called 3 star hotel what an dirty horrible smelly place it is i wouldn,t put a dog in the rooms where do i start well the bathroom is so smelly the toilet stinks of urine all the time the bath was full of rust when you put the taps on the so called shower came on to so it took an hour to fill the bath after we went out an bought bleach to give it a good clean the cooker was minging the knifes and forks where rusty so we had to buy plastic ones the floors where black towels stuck maids changed the sheets and put clean ones on and they where diriter then the ones they took off entertanment was a load of crap waiters never smiled unless you tipped them what a bloody cheek !! i would never go back to this place stopped in loads of 3 star hotels before never had a problem but this place is more like a 1 star on a good day !! costa teguise its self is great but please avoid this place i,m no snob but believe me having saved all year to go on your jollies and then arrive at the tegusiol is just not fair thomascook really do need to take a close look at this hell hole !!

we just got back from holiday from lanzarote ,after we read some comments on this website we expected the worst . it is not a 5 star hotel ,but for the price we paid it is excellent. the reception and restaurent staff are so friendly and they have vast knowladge of the place and the local area

After reading the reviews on the Teguisol Appartments we were worried that the hotel was going to be terrible but it wasnt that bad. People were saying that the towels were so dirty that they were brown but that was the colour of them but they were clean. The sheets were a bit threadbare but were changed almost everyday. The staff were more than helpful and the maids came nearly everyday. The pool area could have been cleaner but this was due to guests using the ground as an ashtray. Because we were self catering we didnt try the food, but my friend moved hotel because it was so bad. My only complains are the salt water pool because it hurts your eyes and people hanging flags from their room window.
We were in room 637 and it was an ideal room because it was right above the supermarket, next to the pool, next to the pool supermarket, near reception and was in the shade. Lanzarote is quite expensive but i would recomend Hammys Bar for eating, it's quality food ( it is on the beach front).
I would give it 7/10 ( not good for people 12-15 yrs old or disabled people) .

We were at the Teguisol apartments on hb basis for 2wks. Where do I start....... I will start with the good thing (2 out of 10) the apartment was basic and very dated but at least it was clean once the mattress that was covered in blood and urine had been changed.......
We went to Thomas Cook and explained we were looking for a family holiday in costa teguise with good and varied entertainment and 3 star basis (assuming that the food would be pleasant). They highly recommended the Teguisol and looking at the brochure it looked really nice and the description sounded ideal - trading standards need to be involved - imagine you think you've paid for a 08 focus and when you have paid for it the garage drop off a v reg fiesta - not what you have paid for - this is whay you get!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will bullet point the bad points:
1) Food inedible
2) 2 children were with us and they had fish fingers on 3 occasions and chicken nuggets once, that was catering for children
3) no chips were offered on 2 nights
4) juice machine on a morning was out of order more than it was working and yet no other refreshments were offered even though they had been paid for
5) staff in restaurant suddenly forgot their understanding of english whenever anybody had a problem or required assistance
6) the staff would often leave us standing at the entrance and have a 5 minute chat amongst themselves with no acknowledgement before allowing you into the restaurant
7) the entertainment consisted of a 30 minute 'mini disco' and bingo every night - not very entertaining for children aged 7 & 11
Basically you only want to stay here if it is on a self catering basis because you will need to eat out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just returned from 2 weeks in Teguisol Apartments, So disappointed and had an awful holiday all because of this place. After saving like crazy for this holiday for over 12 mths we feel totally let down by Thomas Cook. This place was absolutely filthy everywhere, the apartments must'nt have been cleaned for months and months the floor was covered in dirt, crisps, other peoples hair and that was what welcomed us on the first night. When you lay in the bath the smell from the toilet was unbearable and again the bathroom was full of rust, toilet seat hanging off, some sort of brown slime coated the bath so i had to go and buy cleaning stuff before it could be used, the list goes on and on. The pool was constantly surrounded by litter, cigarette ends and was brushed (if you can call it that) once in the whole two weeks we were there. When i sat at the edge of the pool i put my hands on the edge and was horrified to touch a mass of black slime which was also floating in the mirky poolwater it was disgusting and immediately removed my son from the pool and didnt let him go back in. The Thomas Cook reps are the most miserable reps i have ever met with exception to the new rep shawn. Nite entertainment - none existent more fun to be had in a morgue. I could go on an on but i think you get the point. Costa Teguise itself in lovely and we ate out for every meal, we had some fantastic meals, had several at El Patio, best spag bol iv ever had and very reasonable, and they where lovely waiters. I would hate for anyone to have to go through what we did, we were so disappointed and believe me i am not a fussy person and dont like to complain but felt this place was so bad i had to inform anyone going of this. So very glad to be home in rainy england in my nice clean home.

Just got back from the teguisol and to be honest it wasn't as bad as some of the reviews make out, we booked it because it was the cheapest and to be honest we got what we paid for, the rooms were cleaned every other day and the staff were polite, the actual apartments were very dated but clean, we just used it as a base and ate out every night and went into the centre and on the beach front and a few of the days we went to the sands beach hotel pool because it's a bit posher, their was a bunch of single mothers from the midlands staying at the teguisol with awfully behaved kids around our pool, the mothers were just hell bent on arguing with everyone and in the end fell out with each other which was very entertaining to watch but not something you go on holiday for.
we wouldn't stay at the teguisol again but will definitely going back to costa teguise hopefully at the sands beach next year, oh and I forgot to mention the rep on a night at the teguisol really looks like she doesn't want to be there and she's awful with the kids.

I have just came bk from a 2wk holiday at the tequisol with my partner and are son b4 we went we seen all the bad reviews and they was all right but i can honestly say the apartments are not that bad ( well are's was ok) was cleaned everyday with clean linen and clean towels the only downfall of the apartment was the plates/bowls were all dirty when we went to use them.
The complex itself is dirty there was rubbish everywhere and outside the pools were dirty all round the edge i only seen the pools getting cleaned twice while i was there
The night time entertainment was rubbish same things happening all the time my 5yr old son kept saying he was bored when we booked are holiday we got told there was loads for kids to do and there wasnt!
we went half board but i truelly advise everyone do not go there half board the food is not nice and there wasn't much variety and plus you dont even get a drink with your meal not even water!!
The teguisol doesnt have a back up generator either when we was there a powercut happend at 10:30pm for 2hrs it was one of are worst nights on the holiday and the staff was not helpfull when this was going on
i do like lanzarote though and costa teguise is lovely we will defo go back but not to the teguisol it was one of my worst places to stay ever so i do not recommend it to anyone!!
