Teguisol Apartments

I Have been to the teguisol when i was 14 when i went last with my 2 brothers and my mum and dad and i thought it was great.. i dont know why people are saying bad things about it unfortunatly when i went their was a tropical storm and i smashed the balcony door bcos of the winds there but im goin back to the teguisol in 9 days with my brother my mum and dad and my friend and i think it will be great there is nothing rong with the hotel its great i recommend it for familys as there is a great kids club

My family and I have just returned from this aparthotel and have been very disappointed with the general standard of it. It is no way worthy of 3 stars. We have stayed in several 3* accommodation, and have never had any problems. The apartments are very spacious but are in need of major updating. Sheets were torn, bathroom towels dirty. Smelly bathroom, ants crawling, and we found a cockroach. Maid service - not daily. We were half board, the breakfast was good, no complaints there, but the evening meal was very poor. Pool/childrens pool good, although most sunbeds broken. Location of the hotel was good, not too far to the beach, and we liked Teguise itself, although everywhere was quiet (maybe the time of the year). Entertainment was poor, and was at a loss to know where to go elsewhere. Not enough to do for the children, only 2 pool tables, which kept being out of order. Smashed Reception windows. Nowhere very comfortable to sit after the meal. If this complex was refurbished it could be a really nice place. Until then, think carefully before you book.

We booked this holday via teletext ,Holiday.com over the telephone.
The apartments were reccommended by the agent.After booking we read the reviews and were concerned,so we contacted the agent who advised us to ignore the reviews as the aprtments were lovely, the manager confirmed this, as he had just returned from inspecting the complex.We were duped,or the manager must have low standards.These apartments are definately not 3 star.
The complex and apartments are very run down.Other guests we spoke to were also very unhappy with the complex.
The curtains,seat coverings,mattress covers are very worn.The bathroom is very dated with a very shabby shower curtain.The furniture was very uncomfortable due to age and I am glad that we did not have children with us as the bedsettee was very uncomfortable and the mattress cover was dirty.The oven had no shelves.The balcony had paint peeling and marks running down the walls.Television reception is poor unless you enjoy "Movies for men"£1 per hour.
The reception does not create a good impression due to the decor,the Perspex ceiling has yellowed with age,the whole reception area would be greatly improved if they were painted a differant colour, instead of nicotine yellow.Reception staff did not appear to be very happy,perhpas it was their dismal surroundings.
We did not use the entertainment area as it was not very nice and in a dark basement and people smoking, in what, is an enclosed area.
The pool was dirty on some days,it appears the filters were not working or blocking up.The eyesore in the middle of the pool,was apparently a fountain which has been obsolete for sometime. Sun beds were broken or dirty follwoing the rain.
Security is an issue that requires looking at.We were unable to keep the bedroom window open, as the stairs to the upper apartment was along side it.One night we were in bed and a youth pulled back the curtain and was half inside,we shouted and he ran off.If we had been asleep it would have been very easy to have entered and stolen goods.We had to keep the window closed for the rest of the holdiay.
One couple with young children in fact, had money taken from their room and we saw the police at the apartments on several occasions.This has never happened in other holdiay complex that we have stayed at.
There did not appear to be much entertainment for adults or the children,in June of this year we travelled with our granddaughter arranged by Thomson to Oasis Papagayo in Fuertventura,the apartments and complex were lovely, if you have children the entertainment and the reps are fantastic,and the price differance was minimal.Perhaps Thomas Cooke agents should visit this complex to see what is an acceptable standard of accommodation and entertainment.Added to this and the flight being delayed by approx.5 hours outward and inward,luggage being redirected to Gatwick on purpose(instead of Cardiff) we do noth think that we will travel with Thomas Cooke again.
We are glad we hired a car so we could at least escape,poor people who had to stay there.
Costa Teiguise itself is nice,but we have visited far better locations in Spain.

Just come back from a week staying at The Teguisol Apartments self catering, with 2 children ages 7 & 5. After reading all the bad reviews before going I was really worried about going and really didnt want to go. However we have all had a really lovely time.The room itself was nice and clean along with the bathroom, plenty of room for 2 kids and 2 adults. Rooms were cleaned every other day along with fresh towels. Kitchen had everthing that you needed, and balcony was a good size too. Kids pool was a good size nice and clean and a nice and clean surounding area with plenty of sun beds, would recommend though that kids wear gogales in pool as saltwater. Adult and kids pool both cleaned at least 2x a day. Staff very friendly and helpful too. Only down side was that kids entertainment was pretty naff but there is plenty to do in the local bars and restuarants near by kids were never bored. All in all we had a really good holiday and would consider going back.

Not long back from a great 10 day holiday,I also read the comments from people who had visited prior to our holiday and was a little concerned, but I was pleasantly suprised by the very pleasant staff who were friendly and helpfull from day one example- arrived about 8pm told that we could get our meal if we got to the dining room befor 9 got to our room to drop bags off found that some of the lights were not working, so on the way to the dining room reported it to the reception and by the time we had eaten and returned to the appartment it was fixed. rooms are clean all be it a little dated and tired looking, maid service excellent food very good ( you will always get wingers when abroad ) Note most of the better reveiws are coinsiding with the appointment of a new manager Jacobo who i think with backing will turn this already good complex around pretty soon.

Firstly I was not expecting a five star resort but what we experienced really did shock us beyond belief.
Apartment - Sockets hanging from walls with bare wires exposed - very child friendly!, bathroom ceiling mouldy, patio doors did not lock, luckily at least the mop was on hand to wedge it shut, the shower had also fallen off the wall, the room was generally filthy and as previously mentioned by others the linen was filthy.
All of the above were reported to the hotel within an hour of arrival and yet 11 days later after numerous discussions with management neither were rectified.
Food was terrible and partner ill after day 1, Pool had floating algae and scum on surface, complex plagued by cats, staff unfriendly and at times arrogant. Additionally alcohol frequently served to minors.
However should be noted Costa Teguise itself is fantastic for families and couples with no trouble or problems whatsoever.
Over possible hotels nearby to consider are The Sands Beach and Los Zocos where we visited frequently and loved!
By the way if you are reading this after booking please see your travel agent about changing your holiday

we have just got back from a week self catering in teguisol,well after making myself ill about reviews before we went we decided to risk it ,and no problems whats so ever, cleaners were in to change towels mop and sweep floor make beds ,five out of seven . nice fridge freezer ,kettle, microwave, beds ok look new ,only thing i can say could do with new towels but we took our own anyway and new sheets , reception very helpful and polite ,so too were bar staff and only one kids entertainer but couldnt do enough for the kids were at the mini disco first night two mins and she were painting there faces. while we were there singer on ,reptile show, photos expensive though. irish dancers ,bird show,karaoke ,bingo every night . kids loved pool cleaned every morning .not far from beach more nice shops and restaurants,little boy didnt go to kids club while last day but loved it and gave t shirt the thomas cook reps for younger sister who couldnt go . pool tables and internet service, good supermarket ,laundry which we didnt use ,only sad thing is we had to come home.

STOP READING THE OTHER COMMENTS NOW!!!!!!!! Myself, my sister and my 6 year old daughter have just come back from our second visit to these mega appartments and we loved it. We have no idea what other people are talking about. Fair enough the rooms could be doing with a bit of an update but we have stayed at 5 star places that have been far more basic than here. As for cleanliness we couldnt fault it in any way the appartment was spotless when we arrived, the maid was in 5 days a week to clean the floors etc, the towels were changed every second day, clean bed linen at least twice a week, the pool area was spotless and the grounds were extemely well maintained. The staff were very friendly and always happy to help.
The childrens club was absolutely fantastic we couldnt get our child out she wanted to go all the time, the staff were amazing with the kids and went out of their way to envolve all the kids equally. Our child met lots of friends this way which she then played with in the pool and at the mini disco at night.
There was some sort of entertainment every day and night and the appartments were in such a good location that if you wanted to go out you were only a 10 min walk to the bars and restraunts.
We are totally shocked that people found faults with the teguisol because we thought it was fantastic and extremely good value for money we are already looking into going bac next year with some more of our family.

I have just got back from a week in the Tequisol Apartments along with my Mum, Sister and their partners and my partner. We have had a wonderful week and can't complain at anything!
After seeing some of the comments on here we were a bit hesitant at what to expect, but, if you are going here you have no need to worry.
We went Half Board and the breakfast was a full English every morning. It was the usual breakfast with bacon, eggs, sausages etc. Also cereals, fruit juice and fruit were on offer. Teas and coffees were also available.
Our evening meals were different every night. We had plenty of food and it was bought out fresh every 5-10 minutes so it was always piping hot! we had a choice of potatoes, rice and pasta. Also a choice of beef, pork and chicken and there was a different fish every night. And if you are particularly fussy, chips were always on offer! We had no complaints at all and enjoyed every meal we had.
Our apartment was very spacious considering there was 6 of us in one! We had 2 bathrooms between us. 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed in the lounge. My partner and i slept on the sofa bed and it was very comfortable (for a sofa bed anyway). The apartment was clean and tidy. We had new towels every 2/3 days and new sheets. We had a balcony with table and chairs. There was also a table and chairs in the apartment along with a microwave, cooker, kettle and cutlery etc! This was also kept very clean and tidy.
The pool and surrounding areas were very clean. The surrounding areas around the apartments were always clean and tidy. We very often seen the cleaners out washing down the pathways. The only problem was that they were very slippery when they were wet!
The evening entertainment wasn't the best. We had dancers one night we were there. They were very good but another night we had a bird show with 3 birds! This didn't matter though as we were only 5 minutes away from a few more bars and shops so could amuse ourselves. They had bingo every night which was good fun!
All of the staff were polite and worked very hard to keep the apartments up to scratch. The restaurant staff were particulary pleasant and helpful. If there was something you wanted that they didn't have on show, they were always try their best to get it for you!
Overall we had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed our holiday and would definately go back. Ignore all of the bad remarks as if you are planning on staying here as it is well worth going.

If you havnt booked already I would re think. This property is not for families with kids as there is not alot going on. All sunbeds are broken and no entertainment to speak of. The rooms are very basic and in desperate need of refurbishment. The bathrooms are old and the towls are brown, worn and with bleach marks on them, not nice. Bed setee in living area was very uncomfortable as no foam, felt like you were sleeping on the floor. About 20 mins walk into Teguise where there is not much going on. The only really good thing about this holiday was the weather, the constant breeze (quite strong at times) was great. Will not be going back.... Ever. Very disappointing.
