Never would I class this hotel as 4 star, not even 3 star. It needs updating the rooms are dull with poor views and not very clean. The hotel staff are unfriendly. I was told to come back later when I asked for the safe key, as they were to busy then they charged 19 euros... more

A very nice hotel, with, in the main, very friendly staff, the only exception being some of the male staff during dinner who need to get a personality and learn how to smile. Excellent food and with a choice of pools - there are also plenty of beds. If, however, someone... more

Words can not describe how nice the hotel is
We spend 5 days in the hotel, it was very nice we enjoyed it, the room was cleaned everyday, the hotel is in the centre, close to the market , the sea , even we went on foot to Puerto Marina, and enjoyed the walk by the sea. the food was great , it's half board which was good cause the food there is very expensive being breakfast or dinner the variety of food given was delecious. there was access to the internet for 1 Euro/15 minutes, the stuff were very friendly they try to help you in every way possible, thank God they know how to speak English. I have chosen this hotel from this site which I thank them all for writing and giving a good description to the hotel. we wished to spend more than 5 days, my advise to you spend your whole holiday in Torremolinos
*****Excellent Hotel*****
We have just returned from 10 days at Don Pablo, the hotel has a fabulous location, very near to shops and beach. The cleaniness of the hotel was magnificent whilst all staff were very helpful and welcoming. Theres also a wide range of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As for the evening entertainment, we couldnt of been down there any quicker, they host a variety of different shows, such as: Grease, Flamingo Dancing, Bingo, Tributes, so you wont be without entertainment. Outside of the hotel, there is plenty to do for all ages, such as: Sea Life, Aqua Park (water park), Crocadile Park, Boot Trips, Zoo's, this will keep the whole family entertained! Overall i would say the hotel is lovely and is located in a wonderful part of The Costa Del Sol and is only 15 minutes away from Malaga Airport!! :)
Great Hotel
We recently returned from the Don Pablo. I must say that we were pleasantly surprised by the overall location and environment. The pools were excellent and we especially liked the convenience of the beach which was just across the road. The local transport was good and a visit to the Aqua land (water park) just 6 euro taxi ride from the hotel was well worth a visit. We will definitely return.
Hotel I can't get enough of
The Spanish ambience makes this hotel special. There is plenty of space in the hotel with lovely Spanish wrought iron doors leading through from the reception area, through the lobby with spacious seating areas, towards the very large sunbathing patio and pools area outside. Within the ground floor of the hotel you will find some small shops selling mostly jewellery and some small items of clothing, etc- all a bit pricey. There is also a hairdressers shop and a medical room for the visiting doctor. (Hopefully not needed, but just in case). A couple of bowling greens are situated within the hotel grounds and are well used. The hotel staff are very polite and professional and most helpful. Downstairs from the reception area is a conference room but one night during our stay it was used for a wedding reception. I alway love seeing the Spanish holding a wedding for the brides are absolutely stunning and the female guests are so stylish. Watching the wedding group arrive was like being at a ringside seat at a Fashion Show. A very pleasant bar can be found just off the reception area and this also serves the large comfortable part of the hotel which hosts the evening entertainment, usually made up of a couple of singers, who are above average and easy to listen to. For those who wish to be more energetic, there is a small dance floor. Our room in the hotel was spotlessly clean, very roomy, and the balconies are sufficient to stretch out on. The usual TV, hairdryer, toiletires are all provided for. Now to the food. This can make or break a hotel stay. For me, the food in the Don Pablo was brilliant. As they say 'When in Rome' - well 'when in Spain' I just loved the' all you want to eat buffet breakfasts and dinner. ' There is not many hotels that I have visited where the evening buffet includes food such as fresh prawns and Serrano ham or Sirloin Steak to choose from . I had a feast every night. Don't know whether the standard of food was because the Sol hotels have apparently been taken over my the Melia chain of hotels. No matter I would readily recommend the standard of food in this hotel. The pool area of the hotel has large sunbathing areas on 3 levels so you have enough space when you want it. A heated indoor pool is also available, as is the outdoor pool, jacuzzi and children's pool. An outside bar also serves this area. The hotel is situated on the beach front at Torremolinos with shops, restaurants and bars in surrounding area. Loved the old town which is only a few minutes away from the hotel. The beach goes on for miles and is very clean. Taxis can be hired quite cheaply with the taxi rank outside the hotel reception area making visits to neighbouring resorts and villages quite easy. Alternatively travelling by local bus is exceedingly cheap. I first visited this hotel in November 2004 and took friends there in April 2005 - they just loved it too. And I am looking forward to returning to the Don Pablo for more holidays in the future. To me it has everything I want in a holiday - including the sunshine.
exclent hotel
we stayed here in 2001 it is a very good hotel the waiters, were waiters.not your summer "tom cruise" kids.the whole of the hotel spelt grand,it has five lifts!how manny hotels do you know has that many.we since been back to torremolinos and the hotel next door, the don pedro was being refurbished and it did look a bit like a bomb site, but im still going back in fact this sunday 20 0205.ps how many other hotels send you a chritmas card!
Great Hotel - great location
We recently returned from Spain this month and stayed two nights at the Sol Don Pablo. This is a great hotel. We had a lovely corner room on the eighth floor with a view of the ocean. The bed was very comfortable. Many retired people stay at this hotel and they have all kinds of activities for them, like lawn bowling, cards, nightly entertainment shows, etc. It would be a great base hotel to explore surrounding areas. It is only about a 15 minute taxi ride from Malaga. We were tired when we arrived, so we had dinner at the Hotel which was quite excellent for a buffet. However, breakfast was a different story. Our rate included a breakfast buffet, and I have to say it wasn't very good. Eggs, for example, are made ahead of time, not to order, so the yolks tend to harden up. Also, not much food variety. The Hotel has some lovely pools and of course the beach is right across the street with a lovely promenade, where you can walk for miles and miles. There are huge amounts of bars, cafes, restaurants all over the place. The Hotel Bar has happy hour and prices are reasonable. We enjoyed a Flamenco Show when we were there, which lasted about an hour. Also, at dinner beforehand, they handed out complimentary drinks of sherry. I would also like to mention a restaurant across the street from the hotel, which had some of the best seafood I have tasted in awhile. It is called Bar Playa Los Corales. The food is wonderful and the service is excellent. We had the Monk Fish and mussels and it was incredible.
stuck in a time warp
Stayed here in September 2004. Hotel is OK, it claims to be a 4 star, but only just rooms are spotless but badly in need of a refresh food is bland but in abundance stay any more than a week and you get a bit tired of it. Great location most staff friendly, but not all, seems to be a conference going on every week. Would not stay here again. I think the Spanish in this area are a bit fed up with us even though we are a major source of their income
Pleasant stay at this hotel.
Good location opposite Bajilla beach. A few small supermarkets, restaurants and trivia shops nearby with a better selection in Carihuela - approx 15 mins walk. Torremolnos centre 10 mins walk - up a steep hill - use nearby stairway or elevator at 50c. Above average accommodation. Well maintained rooms, facilities and public areas. Generally, polite and helpful staff, although the waiters could perhaps smile now and again! Buffet only breakfast, lunch and/or dinner. Lunch served in separate restaurant overlooking the beach. Poor selection of starters and main course. Dubious quality sausage and bacon didn't augur well for typical English breakfast, however, a good selection of croissants and cakes was provided. Not so good facilities/activities for kids 12 upwards. No games room, satellite TV or video channels although computers /internet access available at 1euro for 15mins. Swimming pools good although all over 2.1m deep, meant you couldn't stand on the bottom to keep cool but had to permanently swim or tread water. In conclusion, would definately go back.
OK Hotel in and OK setting
We really didn't realize that Touremolinos was as close to the airport as it was...its an OK spot but definitely not a good representative of the Costa del Sol. The hotel itself was inexpensive yet the staff was helpful and the rooms clean. I wouldn't recommend the area but if you are going the hotel is a safe bet.
Friendly Environment
I went to Torremolinos for a week in October 2003 with a couple of friends and all found it extremely exciting; we didn't want to go back. The staff their are friendly and very helpful, the rooms- not as good as the other hotels that I have stayed in but is standard looking and has good air conditioning. A good place to meet new friends- I know I did! Wouldn't mind going back to 'Griego Mar' for the upcoming summer holiday!!! :)
