If you've booked a holiday to this resort then please please PLEASE ring ahead and ask for a pool view. This might seem like a bad review but please keep reading...
We arrived late at night (room 425) and I was very disappointed to find our view was of souvenir shops and two pubs. The english pub was quiet enough but the spanish pub played loud music to entertain the even louder spanish people! Although we were on the 4th floor, the hotel is built on a hill so we were actually at ground level and had a terrace instead of a balcony. As the terrace was edged with plants, we had a problem with cockroaches in our apartment. There was SIX in our room the night we arrived!! There was a huge round window above the bath which of course looked out over the shops and pubs so if you wanted to shower in the evening, you had to keep the lights out (by the way, cockroaches love the dark!) The patio doors in the living room didn't lock, only one side of the sliding bedroom doors opened and the bathroom window didn't close properly. By now i was very stressed after the flight and the airport losing my luggage so when i found a cockroach running across the bed it was the last straw for me! We went to reception (me in floods of tears and my boyfriend in disgust that this was "supposedly" a 4* hotel) and asked to move rooms. We've NEVER complained before and i hated having to do it but the girl on reception was lovely. She explained how they were fully booked and had nowhere to move us to BUT she would send someone to spray our room for the cockroaches and somebody would be out first thing the next morning to fix the doors and windows. It was fantastic how quickly the problems were being dealt with! Within 5 minutes of returning to our room, a guy was there to spray the apartment and 9am the next morning someone else arrived and fixed the doors and window. We got a note under the door that afternoon to say a request for a room change had been filed and an exterminator would be out within 24hrs for the cockroaches. After a few more days the amount of cockroaches was dwindling down so when we got another note giving us the option to move further down the hall, we decide against it. The cleaners do a FANTASTIC job and always smile and say hello when you walked passed them in the corridors (instead of pushing you out of the way like they do in most spanish hotels!) My boyfriend had a migraine late one evening and the girl on reception was so helpful and even gave us a map with directions to a 24hr chemist. I couldn't fault them! Our flight home wasn't until midnight but we couldn't keep our room on for an extra day as they were fully booked but the hotel offers courtesy rooms which you can book for half an hour to have a quick shower etc before your flight. I will definately go back to Fanabe and would stay in Sunwing but i'll be requesting a pool view before booking next time. For lovely inexpensive food i highly recommend Busby's cafe. (come out the front door and turn right. Take the first left and it's about half way down on the right hand side of the street) The owners are lovely and the food is delicious! They also do take-away food which is really handy if you're going on day trips rather than paying over the odds inside parks etc. We had heard bad reports about the monkey park between Las Americas and Los Christianos but we enjoyed it. It cost 10 euros in a taxi and 10 euros each to get in. The park needs as much money as it can get as none of the tour operators advertise it so please buy some of the bags of food at the gate so you can hand feed the monkeys. We also went on the half day Teide trip (bring warm clothes as it's really freezing when you get off the cablecars at the top) and the Royal Delfin glass bottomed boat trip to Los Gigantes. We seen pilot whales and dolphins right beside the boat! Most of the food and soft drinks onboard are free and the views of the cliffs are breathtaking. You also get the chance to jump off the back of the boat and go for a swim to cool off when they stop for lunch. Enjoy your holiday... wish it was me!!

This was our first holiday in Tenerife and it was fantastic. There were my husband myself and our 12 year old son.
The Sunwing Apartments were the best we have stayed in, spacious enough for the 3 of us, the maids did an excellent job 5 days a week, the whole resort is spotlessly clean even the toilets dotted around are always clean and stocked with loo roll and tissues.
Room was split into 2 with a sliding door. Large wardrobes, and 2 sinks in bathroom.
Beds were very comfy and there is a large sofa bed in the lounge with a pull out bed underneath. Small kitchen area with utensils from Ikea, you have to hire a toaster for 6 euros per week, and balcony with chairs and table. We never saw any cockroaches in these apartments so don't worry.
Resort is run by Swedish and they seem to reserve the best apatments for them, as ours faced a street but there are royal family apartments facing the pool, these are not in our brochures.
Staff were friendly and spoke excellent english.
Pool area has loads of sunbeds and parasols, you are not meant to reserve them but everyone does, there is a member of staff who will move towels off beds up until about 9.30am everyday if you are not sitting on them. The pool is open from 8-10am for adults only, as after this time it is very busy with kids all day. Lifeguard on duty from 10am.
It gets extremely hot here until about 8.30pm so take lots of suncream. There is plenty of activities for kids, water polo, scuba diving in pool, pool tables, table tennis, squash court, playstation room 2 euros for 1 hour, youth activities room with dvds etc, we hardly saw our son all day he had a ball and made loads of friends.
Mini market on site is extremely expensive for things like pasta, savoury rice, pot noodles, i suggest you take these with you, drinks for kids though were only 1 euro so that was not bad, suncream was 26 euros! so definately take your own. There is a netto just around the corner which has everything you may need but it is not that cheap, there is a cheaper supermarket in the commercial centro across the road and down the stairs which we only discovered a day before we went home!
The beach is a few minutes walk downhill, it is volcanic sand so be careful not to walk on it with bare feet as it will burn you!, there is an inflatable iceberg in the sea which costs 10 euros for 1 hour, the kids and adults had a great time on this.
There is a traffic free promenade which is lovely to walk along at night when it is cooler, there are plenty of things for the kids down here like mini golf, trampolines, motorised scooters for hire 10 euros 30 mins, there is also a lovely air conditioned bowling alley called Harleys in the centro commerical around the corner from the sunwing.
There are loads of bars, shops and restaurants along here and up all the little side streets, a few good restaurants are:
Gran Reserva, just right of the sunwing, paella and wine here excellent, staff quite arrogant though.
Capri little italy in the centro commercial, beautiful italian restaurant great pasta.
Colonial english pub here also, all football games on here and it has a lovely restaurant serving great food for adults and kids.
Pheonix city chinese was good, our son loved the crispy duck.
If you walk about 15 mins along the bay you will come to Playa Torviscas which has a lovely bay and is also lined with bars, shops restaurants,
Auntys serves excellent battered fish.
Asian Dream is a great indian here aswell.
Harleys american diner is excellent
Macdonalds is also along the promenade for the kids.
Bentleys english pub is good for breakfast and cheap.
There is a market on thursdays and saturdays not far from sunwing, where u will find all your souvenirs etc.
The Aqualand is about 20 mins walk from hotel, there is a free bus there at 10am across the road, there is a brilliant dolphin show included in the price.
The looky looky men are everywhere and if u ignore them they will stop pestering u, also people trying to drag u into restaurants is annoying as some of them are in your face.
This is a really great family resort and children are welcome everywhere you go, if you want nightlife its only 3km to Playa de las americas, we went there one night and had a lovely chinese meal, prices are a bit more expensive than in costa adeje.
I would recommend these apartments and this resort to anyone with kids as they will love it, would defo go back.

We had a very enjoyable stay at this complex, it was very clean and well maintained, areas were bright and staff very friendly. Our apartment was comfortable and we had a lovely view of the mountains from the balcony which was fairly large we also had a partial seaview. The complex has everything that we needed bars, restaurants, mini market, beauty salon and hairdressers. We were always able to get sunbeds around the pool which could be quite crowded but we found that on change over days (Tuesdays and Fridays) the pool was very quiet and there were plenty of available sunbeds. We were very impressed that there was a life guard on duty the entire time when the pool was open which enabled us to relax when our daughter was in the pool alone knowing that there was an extra pair of eyes watching the pool area. Food in La Tasca restaurant was very good although not a huge choice of different meals available but we did find that they were reasonably priced. Sunwing is only about a ten minute walk to the beach, bars and shops. The reception was open 24 hours and staff were always willing to help you, you can cash travellers cheques at reception and there is also an ATM machine in reception. entertainment was ok but alot was in Nordic but still amusing!! Rep was very helpful and seemed to be in reception area a lot of the time so it was easy to book trips and ask for information (thanks Andy) On the whole a very good resort and would certainly think about returning to Sunwing Resort Fanabe or looking at other Sunwing resorts. Thank you Sunwing for a lovely, relaxed holiday.

This was a brilliant holiday i loved every minute of it. Its got lots of things for the kids to do. Before you go ring up and check if you have got a poolside view because you do not want to be looking onto the main road. We didnt do this and had a massive uproar with the rep. Its got a mini shop and a restaraunt which are situated around the pool also its got a games room and some computers for the kids. The beach is only a 10 minute walk for the hotel and has lots of restaurants situated around it. Apart from this Fantastic holiday and we are going again this year!!

Me and my partner went to the Sunwing resort in Sept 07. The location is fantastic and near lots of restuarants and a short walk from the beach. The hotel is really modern and has stuff for everyone of all ages (I'm 20 and my partner is 25). The hotel is really clean and is really friendly to the environment (having different bins for every different thing!)
The hotel has a couple of restuarants and a lovely pool area. The rooms are nicely laid out and there are cleaners that come in most days. There's a on site shop, entertainment, swimming aerobics, kids area and an area to to on the internet. We had a lovely 7 days at the sunwing and would definately go back!

This holiday was fantastic. Me, my 18 and 17 year old daughter, and my 12 year old son, and my daughter’s boyfriend 18, my mum and dad and brother, LOVED IT!!!
Although the entertainment of a night at the hotel wasn't great, there was only a 3 minute walk down to the beach where there was end-less amounts of bars and restaurants with fantastic food and entertainment. I would recommend Bentleys restaurant for great food and the grand reserve which was built onto the outside of the hotel. There was a fantastic band playing in a more expensive restaurant by McDonalds. You MUST go on the trampolines with harnesses! The strand bar located on the bay of playa de las Americas was a good cheap place to have a drink. Finally my 12 year old son and 18 year old daughter went scuba diving at the padi dive centre it was great!!!

Anyone who gave less than 8 for this resort must be extremely fussy as we have been going to Tenerife since 1992 and these apartments are by far the best we have stayed in and perfectly positioned. As for the couple that incurred taxis to the town centre its not that far if they wasn't so lazy and walked they would have come across plenty of entertainment and bars they obviously missed.
If you don't like the entertainment or food do what we done and go outside there's plenty to choose from and if your that fussy don't go back to Tenerife. Fabulous place something for everyone and by the way we had my daughter and her husband 2 x kids 11 and 8 and they all enjoyed it immensely that we have already booked to go back at the peak time again August 2008.

Wow!!! Sunwing is faultless, even though Swedish owned they all spoke perfect English, always happy to help(and with a smile)apartments were spotless and cleaned most days also 24hr air conditioning.
The pool area was always clean and had a vast amount of sunbeds, with a poolside bar, restaurant, and a mini market.
Five minutes from the beach with plenty of bars and restaurants. One place to try is "le fortezza"(the fort) pay one price for all your grub and ale with 1st class entertainment, an excellent night.
Overall Sunwing and Costa Adeje is a must for any couple or families with plenty to do in and around. Definitely going back next year.

Absolutely fantastic resort. Very family orientated but with Playa de las Americas fairly nearby for those who want it. The hotel sits on the corner of a street with access in minutes to bars a good Netto supermarket and the beach is literally 5 minutes away.
Be under no illusion the hotel is run by Swedes and is very Swedish but this also means exceptional cleanliness and organisation. The guests in October were about 70/30 Scandinavians to Brits. The entertainment at the hotel is professional and very enjoyable but the show bar empties as soon as the show is over even though it's open for another 2 hours!
The hotel bars and restaurants are a bit pricey but there are ample bars and restaurants only minutes away. The swimming pool is of very good quality with a baby pool, a toddler pool, and a large pool with a sloping entry for young ones up to 6 feet deep.
There are activities most days but with no pressure from resort staff. The kids organised activities are also good but tend to be conducted in Swedish but staff will effortlessly switch to English when required.
The staff in general all seem to want to work there and everybody is friendly and helpful.
The beach is fairly clean (volcanic sand) and has good facilities with proper government lifeguards. It's worth the 15 minute stroll to Torviscas as its good for a change and the water is a little gentler for kids etc. The looky looky men are there but can't seem to be bothered to harass anyone, same for the timeshare people.
It is essential to visit Loro Parque! It's probably the best wildlife park I have ever visited and again the staff really want to be there. A lot of the takings go to a charitable foundation too. The Orca Whale show is a must.
All in all, very clean, very friendly but the hotel empties in the evenings so probably best to go down the street for some life. Quiet, pleasant and perfect for kids.

Was our first time to Tenerife, and we were not disappointed. The apartments were very clean and maid service was 5 days a week.
The resort is very much into recycling and you are encouraged to do this with your rubbish.
The pool area is very nice and you did not have to get up early for a sunbed. There was 6 in our party my husband 2 children (15 17) and my eldest son and his girlfriend (25 30), they had their own apartment. my youngest loved playing on the ps2 which there is a room to do this, it cost just 2euros for an hour.
You can also go on the internet. At night we went to a bar Ye Olde Ocean very friendly. We did 2 trips loro Parque which was ok but the one I really enjoyed was the Submarine trip where you go to the bottom of the Atlantic, it was the best trip ever, well worth the experience .All in all a brill hols, and we have already booked to go back next year.

Sunwing Fanabe is a lovely hotel. Its clean, friendly, rooms are small but have everything you need and perfect for 2 young people sharing. Its near a great beach and generally everything you need is a stroll away.
However it is not as close to nightlife as we had been led to believe. You had to get a taxi and this added an extra 20 Euros to get to the town and back each night.
Other than this all in all a great hotel and great holiday!

We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Sunwing Resort Fanabe and we had a great time. The complex was clean and the staff were excellent. The rep was helpful, always on time and just a really nice lady.
The apartment was well equipped, with the kitchen and its contents coming straight from Ikea, and even though there were 4 of us, me, my hubby and two boys aged 10 and 14, we found we had enough room. The balcony was huge with a lovely view of the mountains towards Teide.
We ate out every day and there were some really great restaurants which did really cheap and large, brunches and evening meals. We managed to eat out every evening, with drinks, for about £25!
The flight timings weren't ideal, we got to the complex at 2am and on the return home we didn't take off until 1.30am, but the kids just thought it added to the excitement.
Trips- We went to Loro Parque where they have the most amazing Orca show, with the Orcas coming from Sea World in Florida, dolphins, penguins, sea lions, etc. We also went to Aqualand, which didn't compare at all to the one we went to last year in Gran Canaria, but it did have a great Dolphin show, and there were free buses picking up from the complex. The best trip by far was on the Freebird catamaran, with lunch and drinks included, and we spent about half an hour with the engines off just drifting through a pod of short-finned pilot whales. Absolutely amazing!!
We will definitely go back soon.

Apartments were the cleanest I've ever been in, there's only 2 days per week the maids don't come in, think it was a Wed & Sun.
Whole complex extremely clean. Just a short walk to the beach front (takes about 3 minutes). Beaches clean too. Only went to the entertainment in apartments one night but it was very Nordic orientated, so we just went out at night.
Lolo & Bernie’s play club for the kids was just a wee bit too young for my wee boy who's 6 and again this was very Nordic orientated. Staff very helpful and friendly though.
Lots of restaurants to eat in on the beach front, although not anything special most of the food was good. Lots of nice hotels around about. Loro Parque excursion was very good, the Orca Whale / dolphin / sea lion shows are fab. Aqualand was good too, although most of the chutes are for about 8 up I would say, my son was ok because he's tall and got on all them.
