Submitted By: Miss A CooperThe hotel has a couple of restuarants and a lovely pool area. The rooms are nicely laid out and there are cleaners that come in most days. There's a on site shop, entertainment, swimming aerobics, kids area and an area to to on the internet. We had a lovely 7 days at the sunwing and would definately go back!

Submitted By: Mrs M FisherAlthough the entertainment of a night at the hotel wasn't great, there was only a 3 minute walk down to the beach where there was end-less amounts of bars and restaurants with fantastic food and entertainment. I would recommend Bentleys restaurant for great food and the grand reserve which was built onto the outside of the hotel. There was a fantastic band playing in a more expensive restaurant by McDonalds. You MUST go on the trampolines with harnesses! The strand bar located on the bay of playa de las Americas was a good cheap place to have a drink. Finally my 12 year old son and 18 year old daughter went scuba diving at the padi dive centre it was great!!!

Submitted By: Mr P DanielsIf you don't like the entertainment or food do what we done and go outside there's plenty to choose from and if your that fussy don't go back to Tenerife. Fabulous place something for everyone and by the way we had my daughter and her husband 2 x kids 11 and 8 and they all enjoyed it immensely that we have already booked to go back at the peak time again August 2008.

Submitted By: Mr Geoff WilliamsThe pool area was always clean and had a vast amount of sunbeds, with a poolside bar, restaurant, and a mini market.
Five minutes from the beach with plenty of bars and restaurants. One place to try is "le fortezza"(the fort) pay one price for all your grub and ale with 1st class entertainment, an excellent night.
Overall Sunwing and Costa Adeje is a must for any couple or families with plenty to do in and around. Definitely going back next year.

Submitted By: Mr SG KirkBe under no illusion the hotel is run by Swedes and is very Swedish but this also means exceptional cleanliness and organisation. The guests in October were about 70/30 Scandinavians to Brits. The entertainment at the hotel is professional and very enjoyable but the show bar empties as soon as the show is over even though it's open for another 2 hours!
The hotel bars and restaurants are a bit pricey but there are ample bars and restaurants only minutes away. The swimming pool is of very good quality with a baby pool, a toddler pool, and a large pool with a sloping entry for young ones up to 6 feet deep.
There are activities most days but with no pressure from resort staff. The kids organised activities are also good but tend to be conducted in Swedish but staff will effortlessly switch to English when required.
The staff in general all seem to want to work there and everybody is friendly and helpful.
The beach is fairly clean (volcanic sand) and has good facilities with proper government lifeguards. It's worth the 15 minute stroll to Torviscas as its good for a change and the water is a little gentler for kids etc. The looky looky men are there but can't seem to be bothered to harass anyone, same for the timeshare people.
It is essential to visit Loro Parque! It's probably the best wildlife park I have ever visited and again the staff really want to be there. A lot of the takings go to a charitable foundation too. The Orca Whale show is a must.
All in all, very clean, very friendly but the hotel empties in the evenings so probably best to go down the street for some life. Quiet, pleasant and perfect for kids.

Submitted By: Mrs L M SteansThe resort is very much into recycling and you are encouraged to do this with your rubbish.
The pool area is very nice and you did not have to get up early for a sunbed. There was 6 in our party my husband 2 children (15 17) and my eldest son and his girlfriend (25 30), they had their own apartment. my youngest loved playing on the ps2 which there is a room to do this, it cost just 2euros for an hour.
You can also go on the internet. At night we went to a bar Ye Olde Ocean very friendly. We did 2 trips loro Parque which was ok but the one I really enjoyed was the Submarine trip where you go to the bottom of the Atlantic, it was the best trip ever, well worth the experience .All in all a brill hols, and we have already booked to go back next year.

Submitted By: Miss Z TaylorHowever it is not as close to nightlife as we had been led to believe. You had to get a taxi and this added an extra 20 Euros to get to the town and back each night.
Other than this all in all a great hotel and great holiday!

Submitted By: Mrs WJ HodgettsThe apartment was well equipped, with the kitchen and its contents coming straight from Ikea, and even though there were 4 of us, me, my hubby and two boys aged 10 and 14, we found we had enough room. The balcony was huge with a lovely view of the mountains towards Teide.
We ate out every day and there were some really great restaurants which did really cheap and large, brunches and evening meals. We managed to eat out every evening, with drinks, for about £25!
The flight timings weren't ideal, we got to the complex at 2am and on the return home we didn't take off until 1.30am, but the kids just thought it added to the excitement.
Trips- We went to Loro Parque where they have the most amazing Orca show, with the Orcas coming from Sea World in Florida, dolphins, penguins, sea lions, etc. We also went to Aqualand, which didn't compare at all to the one we went to last year in Gran Canaria, but it did have a great Dolphin show, and there were free buses picking up from the complex. The best trip by far was on the Freebird catamaran, with lunch and drinks included, and we spent about half an hour with the engines off just drifting through a pod of short-finned pilot whales. Absolutely amazing!!
We will definitely go back soon.
" Apartments were the cleanest I've... "
Submitted By: Mrs L McMurrayWhole complex extremely clean. Just a short walk to the beach front (takes about 3 minutes). Beaches clean too. Only went to the entertainment in apartments one night but it was very Nordic orientated, so we just went out at night.
Lolo & Bernie’s play club for the kids was just a wee bit too young for my wee boy who's 6 and again this was very Nordic orientated. Staff very helpful and friendly though.
Lots of restaurants to eat in on the beach front, although not anything special most of the food was good. Lots of nice hotels around about. Loro Parque excursion was very good, the Orca Whale / dolphin / sea lion shows are fab. Aqualand was good too, although most of the chutes are for about 8 up I would say, my son was ok because he's tall and got on all them.

Submitted By: Mr TaylorEvening entertainment was good and always enjoyable, there was daytime entertainment which attracted younger kids but seemed to be of a high standard.
The food was good and the staff were very cooperative and sorted out problems if there were any!
Loads to do, beach very close (literally just down the road) with great bars near, ate out nearly every night and never had one complaint. Ventured into playa de las Americas main a couple of nights as we found there was more to do and more choice of bars etc.
Is good for a nice chilled out holiday! Although it is set a bit away from the main attractions it is still in walking distance and means that there isn’t any noise or anything at stupid hours.
Only complaint would be the view from the balcony...was scaffolding! Can’t be helped I suppose and would probably be gone now!
All in all a top holiday, would definitely return!

Submitted By: Miss B DoyleWe stayed in the self catering apartments at Sunwing Resort and were very happy. We choose to stay in 3+ apartment (made for up to three adults and one child) which did cost us a little extra (about £20 each! so not a lot) and we had loads of room.
Big bedroom area, bathroom with his and hers sinks, lounge area with dining table, sofa and kitchenette and large balcony with table and chairs overlooking the pool area. There is plenty of storage and I was impressed by their environmental cleaning services.
I had read in previous reviews that the air-conditioning in the room was on a timer, this had put me off slightly as I am terrible in hot weather but in fact the aircon worked whenever you needed it, only turning off when you opened the balcony door!
The room was fully equipped with all the bits and pieces you would need for a self catering holiday (even an egg timer!) The kitchenette consists of two cooking rings, a kettle, a microwave, a coffee maker, and a fridge.
The microwave was kind of pointless as it is impossible to find microwave meals in Tenerife and a grill would have been nice, to cook toast in the mornings but when we arrived it was too hot to do too much cooking and we mostly had sandwiches, though fridge handy for keeping beers cold and hob for cooking those holiday hangover fry ups.
However this apartment would be FAR too small for 3 adults and a child, perfect for just the two of us!
There are however plenty of restaurants in the area which serve food at ridiculously cheap prices, I would strongly recommend the two all you can eat Chinese restaurants in Fanabe just £3.50! That’s including ice-cream!! And the little restaurant to the right of the hotels entrance, me, and my boyfriend ate here and the food was incredible!
Beware of drink prices in restaurants! They can be quite pricey and alcohol is often cheaper to drink than soft drinks. If in doubt ask! Oh and the rolls which restaurants provide you at the beginning of your meal, they are not free, they will charge you for them and usually about 1 euro and if there is a family of 5 of you that over £3 on bread which is about the price of a meal in most restaurants!
You can however get drink for pennies. Many bars advertise local beer for just 1 euro and if you fancy a bottle of wine to take home some of the local supermarkets sell bottles wine which back home would cost around £10 for about 4 Euros! BARGAIN!
My partner was extremely chuffed with his purchase of a bottle of Jim Beam whiskey for £6.80 which would cost about £25 in England. Unfortunately as Tenerife is not in the EU his was limited to bringing back just one bottle.
The hotels about 3 minutes walk away from the beach which has all your water sports and ice garden (inflatable toys in the sea.) However like everywhere in Tenerife you will be charged for using the sunbeds! If you’re interested in the night clubs that Tenerife has to offer, Starco and Veronicas strip is not walking distance (we did it one day and it took an hour!) but a taxi cost about 6 Euros each way (about £4.)
Fanabe is a pleasant area on the outskirts of the crazy nightlife of Tenerife and a lot cheaper than the other side of Playa de las Americas, Los Cristianos. We visited Los Cristianos market on a Sunday which you can get to on the local bus for just £1 each, well worth a look if you want some cheap holiday souvenirs or sunglasses.
The hotels entertainment was...interesting! Definitely targeted at the younger guest with kids clubs and karaoke. We ventured out of the hotel for our evening entertainment, only returning for their late night happy hour (half price cocktails!).
One of the very few problems we encounted was the lack of sun umbrellas around the pool. The pool area did get very busy and although we always had a sunbed we often had to go without an umbrella, which meant a lot of tooing and frooing to escape the sun.
There are table tennis tables and pool tables around the pool and a giant chess board, there is also squash and aerobics (twice a week they do water aerobics, which is a bit noisy when you want to relax with a book, but great for a giggle and easily avoided if you want some peace and quiet.)
There is also a play station room for a small charge if you want to get rid of the kids for a few hours and internet access in the lobby.
We travelled with Airtours. Our rep was very helpful, directing us to buses and calling us taxis etc and was around whenever we needed her! The flight was pretty uncomfortable, I'm only 5"6 and my knees touched the seat in front of me but as the flights were only £30 each way, we couldn't really complain!
I would not recommend booking your excursions through your rep as they are usually very overpriced. There is an excursions place just 30 seconds walk from the hotel and they will be able to give you cheaper deals and the further you venture from the tourist area the cheaper the excursions get.
We went on a boat trip to see dolphins and whales for around £18 each and were not disappointed! It was a smaller boat than the free bird advertised through the rep but half the price and as it was so small the whales were literally in arms reach of you! However do not believe the free food and drink myths!
We received a few cans of drink and a cheese and ham sandwich, not quite the free bar that was advertised!
We spent most of our holiday by the beach, sunning by the pool and eating out. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone, families, couples, or people wishing to enjoy the nightlife of the island! We got a great deal and for the price we paid the hotel was amazing value for money!
Happy Holidays!
