Submitted By: birkieseanFrom here onwards I can only be critical through faint praise ,because the room we were allocated was directly above a noisy bar and the balcony was being used by cats for the purpose of defication and urination. It was extremely unpleasant.
At the welcome meeting we infromed the Thomas Cook rep that we had problems with our room/balcony.He immediately side stepped the question and said 'I'l speak to you after the presentation'.He never did.Several days into the holiday after our request to reception to be moved away from the bar area could not be met,I spoke further to the Rep and took him up to the room to outline the nature of our complaints. He responded later in the day by telling us he couldn't meet our request to be moved unfortunately. However,by way of compensation he told us have a slap up meal at Thomas Cook's expense up to the value of 50 Euro.Very kind we thought. But the Rep never followed through with his promise to reimburse us for the cost of the meal.(44 Euro). We feel let down by the Thomas Cook rep.Room 106 is was WELL BELOW acceptable standards.
I have to say that the other apartments looked fine and the reception staff etc were very friendly. The only criticism I would have of the pool area was the lack of cleaning with regard to poolside tables.
In summary I suppose our review is based on two main weaknesses in the service we received.Firstly,an inability to provide adequate alternative accommodation within the complex.Secondly, the extremely poor customer service from the tour operator rep.He was a nice lad, very personable, good jokes at the welcome meeting, but his inattention to detail cost us 44 Euro.Bad show.
Advice: Very well laid out.Excellent coastal path
Activities: Casablanca

Submitted By: Mr C PhillipsFacilities in complex were ok and what you would expect....pool, bar and toilets. Loungers were available but if really busy were hard to come by in peak times. Pool and surrounding area was cleaned every day but did notice toilets were blocked regularly but rectified when brought to attention! Bar and Staff were what you can expect also....Friendly, clean and good quick food and drinks although like i will mention near end, up there with being borderline expensive but were irregular with their opening hours. We can understand peoples complaints with lack of certain access or services ie. help towards rooms and stairs etc.
As for resort this is what was suprisingly disappointing for us. Yes there was 2 beaches both 5 mins walk away and restaurants all around but if i wanted to experience spanish culture and food, there were none and somewhat resembled Blackpool with sun!!! We felt it was tacky and expensive to eat out, even to have drinks etc every night and were met with whole load of Chinese restaurants and both British pubs and restaurants ( not good for trying local cuisine ). Gift shops were very poor and all same although each had their own way of ripping off tourists with stupid prices for things! Plus our point through experience unfortunately, we found a lot of sleaze towards women!
Overall we wont be returning to Lanzarote!!!!!! Very highly over rated!!!!!!

This place is amazing! If you want a really chilled out holiday with loads of restaurants, a few bars and a beach 5 minutes away this really is the place. You are in the middle of Costa Teguise and everything is walking distance. The hotel was fantastic, very clean and well maintained. Our room was a studio and it was fantastic. The pool was great, lovely and cold for the hot days! Sun beds are not a problem as there are plenty and Mo and Susannah were lovely and really made our first holiday in Lanzarote great. Would definately go back, ignore all bad reports, it's better than a 2*!!!

Submitted By: Miss Z ChanasI recomened to anyone going to do some of the days out, we did the rancho texas night and the national park and loved them both.
On our last day the hotel staff where very good in that we had to be out our room by 12 but we were not being picked up to be taken to the airport till 7 so we where able to use a room for half an hour in the everning to shower and change so that the day was not wasted waiting around to leave we were able spend the day by the pool relaxing.
Overall you pay for what you get, and for the money staying here you get all you need and as i said great location as its not right over any bars so that it is loud at night but it is only a 5 min walk if you want to go to the bars.
The only thing i would say is watch out for Thomas Cook. They did not charge for extra on our luggage going out but comming back our bags weighed the same and i got charged 3 x 9 euros so 27 euros for my bag being to heavy on the way home and i wasn't the only one they wont let anyone past so be warned or you might find yourself on the airport floor desperatly trying to take things out of your bag and into you hand luggage!!!

Submitted By: Miss N J RawlinsThe pool was a lovely size, with 2 childrens pools also. There was always plenty to do during day with endless pool activities and the daily quiz.
Pool side bar was lovely for drinks and light snacks and was very well priced(cheap!!).
Very close to numerous bars and restaurants with plenty of nightlife in the square, which I highly reccommend.
The best bar for meals, drinks and friendly service was without a doubt Castaways!!! Best for english fry up.
Was such a good holiday have booked to go back next year!!!!

Submitted By: Miss C VinceI'd definitely recommend going to the Spanish Square which is only a few minutes away. Go to the English bar which is opposite Hooks, I can't remember what it's called but it's so cheap. 2 drinks only came to €5 whereas the bar next to it was about €12!
I'd definately recommend the Oceano Apartments all in all!

The apartment we stayed in was very clean and well maintained , the best shower ive ever used ie it stayed at a good temperature for the entire time u were in there .
Ample balcony , good fridge . oven and tv which we didint use because we went away to leave that stuff behind. the pool looked fine and clean if you require it and the pool side bar was brilliant and served very good reasonably priced food. the host and hostess were very friendly and helpful as were the reception staff.
although centally situated we found it relatively peaceful despite there being several bars nearby.
We enjoyed several walks around the coastline and noticed just how little litter there was other than that left by idiots in the rocky peninsulas .
We had several visits to the Golden City Chinese restaurant and had some wonderful hot buffets (certainly the best ive ever tasted).
It was nice not to be hounded by bar and restaurants touting for business , yes you were asked if you would like to dine with them but they didnt chase you down the street as is often the case
We can only speak for ourselves but we had a wonderful holiday and will definitely be returning there soon and it was great value for money

Submitted By: Mrs N IantornoHow Airtours can grade these apartments 3 star I have no idea, in my opinion it is no more than a 2 star at the very best.
The reception only seemed to open a few hours in the day so if you had any problems there was nobody there to help you. The pool bar, again, seemed to open and close as and when.
The pool area was dissapointing, not very clean, and there seemed to be an underlying smell coming from the pool toilets.
Some of the apartments are above bars and the noise can go on until early hours of the morning. During our stay, the Fri & Sat night there was a Brazilian music festival which meant that the noise continued until 4am, I don't know there is a festival every weekend, if there is I wouldn't recommend staying in room 113.
The rooms are very basic and in desperate need of a refurb.
