In 30 plus degrees of heat they do not give the coolness of marble floors (air con in the rooms which worked), however personally think marble floors are healthier. Plus the bathrooms are very small and jaded.
No Thomson notice boards in English in the hotel, they were all in German and plenty of attendance by the German rep who we noted on numerous occasions in the reception area, but little by the English Rep.
Nice litle bar called Tony's opposite the hotel entrance. Plenty of Chiringuitos along the promenade. 5 euros for a taxi into Torremolions shopping centre and about an hours walk back to the hotel down San Miguel street onto the beach front (if you are fairly active).
In conclusion a good hotel in a quiet location which is ideal if you are happy to stay local. You need to taxi to any of the busier areas. Would certainly recommend for a weeks break where you purely want to laze around and go nowhere.
Hotel has four stars and to be honest have been in a lot better four stars with far better quality of bedroom facilities.

Submitted By: Mrs H BennettThe food was excellent and so much of it! The cleanliness, staff service, and facilities 10/10 too!
The only criticism is that some of the items in the mini bar were out of date, which was hardly a catastrophe!
Fantastic, and we would certainly go there or to another hotel in the group again.

Submitted By: Mr P JonesWe had 12 days including Xmas & New Year so we had both the gala dinners.
The food is always excellent but the gala dinners were something else!
It was my wife's birthday during our stay and that evening our table had special place mats, a candle and a complementary bottle of champagne. The staff must have found out it was her birthday from her passport as we had not requested this ourselves.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel - in fact I am just checking out flights for April as we intend to go again, this time with two friends.

Submitted By: Mrs A HickmanThe rooms are spotless and large compared to other hotels in the area. The beach is just over the road, with nice beach restaurants as well.
Overall this is a first class hotel, it would be hard to find a better one.

Submitted By: Mr R RandallAnd, having had many 4 star holidays, this hotel can be justly proud to be well up to standard on food, staff, comfort, position to fine beach, good poolside, availability to public transport and taxi rank.
You must use the local railway along the coast, it is brilliant and cheap.
You can even achieve getting to Granada by public bus transport for a day at the Alhambra Palace and magnificent gardens....a must.
The only downside was that when we were there it was mostly Germans, so making friends was difficult.

Submitted By: gary costarI would not hesitate in returning to this hotel the only slightly thing I was not keen on was the tables in the dining room are pushed together so you are basically sitting next to someone else but this aint so much of a problem.
Still first class hotel.

Submitted By: Mrs K SmithWe used 2 taxis from Malaga airport to the hotel because there were five in our party and each taxi can only take a maximum of 4 passengers – this cost 15euros per taxi. The journey was no longer than 10 minutes. If you fly with Thompson and book the hotel with Thompson, you could also use the Thompson airport / hotel transfer (we weren’t aware of this at the time of booking via external agent).
There is a train which passes through Malaga airport and stops at La Colina which is the closest station to the hotel (ticket costs less than 2 euros) – but this is only recommended if travelling with backpacks as it is not suitable to walk from La Colina to the hotel carrying a suitcase! When exiting La Colina head towards the sea front (away from the dual carriageway) and within 10-15 minutes walk you will see hotel sign ‘Riu Belplaya’.
We ordered two double twin/standards – these were very spacious for our family (3 teenagers in one room whilst hubby & me in other room). Each room came with 2 rooms – one with a queen sized bed and the other with 2 single beds – so our booking was capable of accommodating a family of 8. Our two spacious bookings (rooms 007 and 008) were next to each other as requested and to our pleasant surprise each had a balcony overlooking the pool and beach – it seems that we were upgraded with the rooms with these views (having booked standard rooms). We were well chuffed.
The food was very good – though we felt that less salt should be used in cooking (guests can always add this at the table). There was a buffet breakfast open from 8.00am – 10.30am with plenty of choice – fresh & dried fruit, selection of cereals, fried egg/bacon/sausage/tomato/basked beans, selection of breads and pastries. Fruit juices (a bit too sweet for some), teas & coffees.
There was also a buffet dinner – guests were asked to attend one of two sittings: 6.30pm or 8.15pm. It is possible to switch sittings if the alternative time is preferred. The buffet dinner consisted of soups, wide selection of salads, pastas, and various cooked dishes including selection of meats & fish, the deserts was also varied – fresh fruit, cakes, yogurts, jellies.
Drinks at dinner had to be ordered and paid for separately – we would have preferred to be offered a jug of water at no extra charge. There was also no tea / coffee making facilities in the room so we were lucky to remember to bring our travel kettle, tea bags & coffeemate! Guests can order tea / coffee during the day at extra cost.
Our hotel bill at the end of 10 days for a family of 5 to eat lunch in the poolside restaurant and all drinks / ice-cream came to 400 euros.
Prior to our holiday, I read a review which stated that men must wear trousers in the restaurant for dinner – this is only partially true. Whereas guests weren’t seen wearing short shorts, many did wear ¾ length casual shorts/trousers. Therefore full length trousers / jeans and ¾ lengths are perfectly acceptable.
All staff in the hotel were great and made special effort to ensure that guests enjoyed their holiday. The waiters are keen to have lively conversation and bar & pool staff made sure that guests had a good time.
The activities organised by the pool staff for adults were Aqua gym, Water volley, grass volleyball, air rifling, bowls - the younger guests had disco, table tennis, snooker. Three or four of these activities were held daily between Monday to Friday,
Evening entertainment included dance show (two per week), live music (two or three times per week) and nightly bingo. Often guests were rewarded with complimentary glass of cocktail after these activities and a bottle of champagne. On one occasion there was a demonstration of how to make Sangria at the pool bar which everyone was invited to sample a glass or two. There is a gym – though this is rather basic. The indoor pool is ideal for those wanting to have a cool swim during hot weather. There is also a beauty treatment centre if you want to indulge in body massage. The evening entertainment (shows and live music) was usually finished by 11pm and we felt that it would be good to have a disco.
The hotel is located in the outer part of Torremolinos and the town centre can be reached by a 20 minute walk along the beach front followed by a walk up the steps. There are plenty of souvenir shops in the town centre and cafes / restaurant all of which are a lot cheaper than the shops near the hotel. We bought most of our souvenirs at the shops near the hotel and would have saved £50 on souvenirs easily by buying these in the town centre, A café latte in the town centre also cost only 1euro whereas in the shops near the hotel this would have been nearly 2 euros !!

The hotel itself is very clean and tidy, the staff are wonderful, they can’t do enough for you. The location of the hotel is also situated in an ideal place. It’s not far from the train station as that is just a short walk up the back of the hotel, and there is also taxis outside the hotel the majority of the time. It’s situated right on the beach, which is also very handy. I am going for my 25th time this June, I am already counting the days, 70days to go!!!

I would recommend this hotel to anyone, young and old, singles, couples or families. who ever you are, you will always be welcome at this Hotel.
