Oct 2007, Mr J Curtin

We have just returned from two great weeks at the Puente Real Hotel, only downside was the food it was a bit basic and the dinning room was very busy. Hotel was very clean, rooms are a very good size, great views of beach and prom. Pool area was good, nice pool bar with BBQ snack bar. Overall for the cost this is a good hotel would return again, just 10mins from airport by taxi.

Just returned from our all inclusive...

Just returned from our all inclusive holiday to the Puente Real. Myself and my husband (in our late 20's), stayed here for a week.
Positive: Room was spacious, cleaned daily, fresh and had a great view. The hotel as a whole was very clean and fresh looking. It is situated next to the beach, which is rarely busy (except on weekends). The poolside BBQ food and the pizzas at the poolside bar kept us going. AI drinks were very nice. Queue at the bar was not as bad as some other reviews would have you believe.
Negative: Restaurant was massively busy and was very chaotic. Cold food, meats and cheeses etc. were very nice. Hot food was pretty much disgusting, however not all the time. The pool was also too busy and we never even bothered going anywhere near it. It wasn't big enough for such a busy hotel.
Our room was situated on the 3rd floor directly across from the lifts and was always noisy. Also the people in the room next to us were far too noisy and even though the hotel is full of other nationalities it was these two Brits shouting at all hours of the night which annoyed us (no doubt!)
The staff in the hotel were mostly friendly apart from a sarcastic woman at the poolside bar and a receptionist who was not helpful and lied to us twice.
Overall I wouldn't return here but purely because of the food and the problems we had with the noise. The hotel has been advertised as 4* but is nowhere near this.
I would recommend it for stag/hen parties etc as it is relatively cheap and cheerful.
Finally, we hired a car for the week and would highly recommend this. The following places are very close by and well worth a visit; Plaza Mayor (Retail and Food outlet), Waterpark, Crocodile Park, Mira Mar (Retail and Food Outlet), Fuengerola Zoo, San Miguel Brewery (Free Beer).

Been to this hotel for past two weeks...

Jun 2007, Mrs D Whiffin

Been to this hotel for past two weeks found the hotel very clean and linen and towels changed daily. Food could have been a bit better, all depends what you eat, if its chips and pasta okay but the cakes were very nice.
Entertainment was very hit and miss but you can make up your own mind the problem being everything has to be explained in about 8 languages before English.
Activities during day time were good and he reps all did a good job. Bar staff could have done with more staff.

Sep 2006, Mrs M Smith

My family with 2 children aged 5 and 8 went to Puente real in May and found it very clean we were on the 8th floor and had a family room it was the biggest room I’ve ever had ever! Very spacious.
The hotel was very modern and just been refurbished which was why holiday brokers rated it as a 4 * the entertainment team were very busy during the day and night keeping everyone entertained. They were always happy and helpful. There was also a kids club which the kids loved every day 11-1pm then again at 3pm and a mini disco on eve and entertainment!
The only downfall was the food it was ok with salads and meats and chips, a variety to choose from every night but us English only like certain meals so we had chicken nearly every night and lunch was much the same.
But the snack bar was good with hotdogs and burgers and kids could have any lolly or ice-cream off the board free anytime day or night or pizza!
Just over the road from the beach, a bit of a walk into centre but when all inc. it doesn’t really matter.
There were people there on sc or hb but we definitely got the best deal going All inclusive!

We have just returned from this...

Aug 2006, Mrs S Aldred

We have just returned from this excellent hotel and we had a fab time. The food is great, the pool is lovely a little bit cold but in a good way! It does tend to be busy during peak times and it is wise to grab a bed early.
The beach is across the road and a few shops in walking distance including supermarkets selling papers and other things you would expect. The town centre is a cab ride away and costs 5 euros and the water park in Torremolinos is 6 euros in a cab, also next door to the water park is the crocodile park which is an absolute must - you have a guide who is very informative and at the end of the tour you get to hold a baby crocodile and take as many pictures as you like with your own camera!
As usual you have the ignorant holidaymakers to deal with but as soon as you get used to this all is well. The rooms are good and you would be better staying in the annex rather than the hotel itself because it is nearer to the pool and you don't have to come through reception to get to it. There is an all day bbq that serves chips, hot dogs, chicken kebabs, burgers and ham or cheese toasties. The entertainment team are excellent and there is always something going on if you want or you can just lie in the sun if you prefer.
The complex is very safe and our 7 year old son was always going off to play pool or some other game as was perfectly safe doing so. I did hear of a couple of thefts although did not experience any such problems but if you are concerned hire a safe from reception to be sure. There are lots of nationalities at this hotel, German , Spanish, Italian, Dutch, English and Russian, so you have to understand that everybody has to catered for and sometimes have a little patience and all will be fine so go and have a fantastic holiday trust me you will!
