Julian Forrest Apartments.
This is a tourist village, the local village is slightly too far away to be reached easily, therefore you are at their mercy. The locals and staff view you as cash cows to be milked, prices are inflated by 300% making it much more expensive than back home. They feel "The Great Satan" in the west owes them a good living. (Yes this phrase was used!) You, the tourist, are bombarded with anti-west/christian propaganda, sexual harassment if you happen to be a young or attractive female and a total absence of customer services. No sheets on the bed, absent cleaners. A girl in my party felt unable to return to the pool for the majority of her stay after having the waiters throw water on her and attempt to pull her towel from her whilst she was sunbathing with her bikini top open at the back. All in all a horrible trip and I am using my democratic right to complain here as none of my complaints were treated with respect while over there and all the reviews we read prior to travelling were outstanding. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Bargain on paper, nightmare in reality
Great late deal!!!! ************************************************************
We stayed at this hotel back in september 2005 and i have only just found this website and i wanted to share my experience with others. Me and my partner booked this hotel as a late deal and we were not disapointed. Fantastic accomidation, pool and service all round. (only bad thing was the amount of wasps) Beach and bars are far from hotel, but dont be put of by this as their is a regualar bus service to the beach and town area. cost is 1lira. We only use the bus once. we enjoyed the steady walk and views. Eating out was good. enjoyed the free garlic bread. no issues at all. If you are self catering i suggest you buy from the main centre as you find prices are a lot cheaper than the hotel shop and shop that is close by to the hotel. Would we return YES! great holiday overall and you will not be dissapointed!!! X
great 3 weeks
just got back a couple of days ago from these apartments, been to Turkey for the last 2 years but decided to stay in Icmeler this year. the apartments deserve the 4 star rating, clean, lovely rooms and the staff are all freindly and cannot do enough to ensure your stay is trouble free. The wrist band and the flexi dine are great ideas. The only thing was we didn't realise it was so far out of the centre of Icmeler however it is only a short bus ride into town at 1 lira (40p). Great entertainment team, big Hiya to Izo, Chover, Ali and Jimmy who work their socks off with running the entertainment. we knew them from the club Turqoiuse in Marmaris last year. Becky who runs the kids club is brill and so are all the waiters especially Adnan. Great three weeks had here with wall to wall sunshine, would defo go back again. there were a few wasps but only stung on the last day.
great staff entertainment poor
first of all the hotel is brill easy 4 star, very clean and rooms brand new.location is a bit out of the way but in a beautiful area.fexi d ine is good vaule but not great quality.staff are very very fiendly apart from guy on the desk who never smiles.hello too tekin, adnan and bruce lee but a special mention too john at the health club who is the nicest person ive ever met.turkish bath and massage are brillant.the only thing i am dissapionted about is the adult intertainment complete rubbish.sort it out for next year?
great hotel
hi we booked 2weeks at julian forest in icmeler were always stay at marmaris so we wanted a change.good clean rooms and staff were great and the best part of it was the turkish bath in the hotel well worth the money compared to the ones that sell u the trips on the streets.so if u go give penguin health club a try at julian forest serdar and his staff will look after u well at penguin spa.
good standard
Booked this hotel as a late deal and was not disappointed. The hotel was immaculate with an excellent pool with plenty of sun loungers. Separate pool for children was ideal as it allowed the main pool to be quiet for our relaxing holiday. Be aware the hotel supermarket and bar was a rip off!!! Much more expensive than the main resort which is only a short dolomus ride away. The dolomus only cost 40p each way and run every 5 mins up until 1am, the walk to the resort takes about 40 mins. The rooms were really spacious, clean and had excellent facilities the only down side was that the balcony was over looked. The resort of Icmeler was superb, great if want to relax, great views but also had plenty to do. We would recommend staying there overall we had a fantastic holiday and met many friendly local people and other holiday makers.
loved it!
i went to julian forest in july 05, bein 16 i was dreadin a hol with the parents and baby sisters, but i had an amazin time, meet the most amazin ppl, the staf were v.friendly and there was always something to do, as for tht guy complanin about how far away it was from the town, it only took at the most 5 to 10 mins in a small bus to get there, and the buses were just outside th hotel and were constantley there! the markets were amazing, got loads of clothes and other stuff for cheap! amazin holliday!
Far from town
We are just back from a weeks holidays in the Julien Forest in Icmeler. The hotel is kept in first rate condition, the apartment is very well designed and decorated. The standard of cleanliness is exceptional. The staff are wonderful, very friendly and helpful and do everything to make sure you are having a good time. There are great facilities, a hairdresser, mini shop, book swap, bar, kiddies pool area. However, it is quite a way out of the centre. While the dolmus (mini bus) is cheap you still have to wait for it both at the hotel and in the town making it time consuming and giving you less flexibility than if you were in town. If you want to go to Marmaris you have to get another dolmus in Icmeler making it a bit of a trek. While the hotel is in a quiet location the hotel is not quiet. We had an apartment overlooking the pool area and found it difficult to sleep with the noise coming from the bar until 2pm and later and while we were there an unpleasant family fight took place. It is hard to describe but whatever way the hotel is built it seems to allow for noise to travel so you feel you are in a cacophony of sound all the time. I would recommend requesting an apartment not overlooking the pool.
Turkish delight
We were allocated Julian Forest Hotel on arrival in Turkey. Despite a long journey to be dropped at the hotel, it was worth the wait. The hotel is clean, has all the facilities you would look for (even a hairdresser!) Staff are helpful and friendly as were the airtours reps. Although being slightly further from the beach than most other hotels, it's only a 5 minute dolmus ride to Icmeler beach and 10 minutes to Marmaris which only costs 30/50p. A taxi back at night only costs £6. I would happily recommend this hotel to people looking for a nice relaxing hotel which is quiet at night allowing the well needed sleep. Icmeler is a lovely resort with a nice beach, plenty of bars and restaurants to visit and incredibly friendly staff. This was our first trip to Turkey and I would happily go back again. I cant recommend Mario's Italian restaurant highly enough. With beautiful terrace overlooking the beach and sea, delicious food of the highest quality and staff who couldn't be more friendly or helpful (they even ran out to the local market to get candles for my friends 'birthday cheescake' and to top it off they will send a car to your hotel to pick you up. Perfect!
