Hiya!
I got taken to turkey with my friends who had been there before and WOW! I had such a fantastic time! The weather was superb and all the staff at the Alkan were very welcoming, I felt like I'd been there before as they all new my name! I would highly recommend the booze cruise with Escapades as it offers a fun and relaxed environment, with no pressure to join in the games. And I got to ride a camel on one of the beaches we stopped at!
The accommodation is basic but clean and liveable, but with such beautiful surroundings we never stayed in much.
If you are looking for a relaxing holiday with lots to do this is definitely a destination for you!

Another great year at the Alkan Apartments. 2nd year there and already planning my holiday there next year. All the staff are very friendly and always welcome you with a smile. they are also always willing to show you the best bars in town and quite often buy the first drink for you. would recommend the Alkan to young adults looking for a relaxed but enjoyable time.

Had another brilliant year at the Alkan it just gets better and better every year. I go with a group of friends and every year we take new people and they enjoy just as much as I do.
Apartments are tidy nothing that you cant live with for the time that you are there.
Night life is good but there are no clubs as such just club Escape but all the bars are just as good.
The staff at the Alkan make you feel really comfortable and take you to all the good bars.
I would recommend the Alkan to anybody and will look forward to going back next year. Ish mish manosh!!!!

This was my first girly holiday abroad and it was ace!
The staff looked after us loads and showed us where to go and how to use our money and stuff, it was wicked.
There’s loads of dancing bars rather than clubs but everywhere is open till like 5.30 which is ace!! Defo go back!

Just want to say that I love the Alkan!!
I first went to the Alkan August last year with 7 friends and had a wicked time, so good that I went again June this year. At the moment I am saving to go back for a month this October.
All the staff are REALLY friendly and made my stay fun. The rooms are nice for what you pay and are regularly cleaned. You are also able to change up travellers cheques at reception which is always handy.
The bar at the front of the Alkan is always busy and they have dancers that do really good break dancing shows. I have seen them so many times and am still not bored.
All the clubs nearby are good and just a few metres away as well as shops. I have made loads of good friends at the Alkan and we stay in contact, cant wait to see them all in October.

The weather was comfortably hot with not a cloud in the sky for the whole holiday, nighttime was just as nice as you never needed a jacket. The apartments were always clean and were sufficient for my self catering holiday.
What made my holiday was not the apartments but the staff, the hotel manager spoke excellent English, informed us how to use the lira, what prices to accept and not to accept. He was extremely polite and friendly and even showed us one of his favourite restaurants, which was right behind the hotel and was superb.
All the staff there were really helpful and made our stay very enjoyable, Gumbet itself isn’t the prettiest of towns but if your looking for somewhere to party then relax during the day you have found a ideal place.
I will certainly go back there and would recommend anyone looking for a party holiday with beautiful weather to go to Gumbet.

Overall the holiday was good. The weather was brilliant and I got a great tan, even though it was September, and I expected it to be a little cooler but it was excellent.
The hotel we stayed in wasn’t too bad, it had its own bar and cafe and a nice average sized pool, we had nice clean rooms and a balcony, our kitchen had a fridge and kettle and means for cooking our own food but we never did, our hotel was well within walking distance of bars and shops and more importantly the beach. The staff were friendly and helpful with our queries although one bad bit was the charge for a refill of toilet paper, when I came to turkey in June, the previous hotel we stayed in did not charge us for the toilet paper refill. The local bars and clubs were great also, most of the drink was cheap.
The staff were friendly but most bar staff are just eager to get you into their bar, so its a little disturbing when they are all calling out to you to come to their bar or restaurant, but a positive side to this is that they are all quite competitive so they offer you better deals for your money. The food in the restaurants was really good, not as I had expected, I really loved the rice and chicken but it was all-good. We went to see Dreamgirls, a drag show, with guys from Leeds performing, it was amazing stuff, really funny, and id wants to see them again.
We tried an arranged trip through a local travel shop in turkey but it didn’t turn out to be so good and it took all day travelling and it was quite expensive. The scenery all around was amazing, really beautiful, the culture in turkey is amazing also, and overall the place is great.
The one thing I wish I’d realised before I went, was the absolute immense heat, it wasn’t uncomfortable in any way but it did require me to drink a lot of water, but it was great even in the shade. I'd recommend it to anyone.

My friend and I went to Gumbet in June 04 we stayed at the Alkan Apartments and it was the best holiday we ever had .
The staff were great and had plenty of time for you. The pool is great and a very good size. Don’t miss BBQ night by the pool its a real good night. Make sure you go on the boat trip its a real good day out book it by Mastfa at hotel Anil its along the beach front. Also hotel Anil is a nice place to go if you are looking food they do lovely food and you will surely enjoy it.
Over all Gumbet is a great place to go for young couples that are looking a real lively holiday that’s why I'm going back in September 05. Enjoy your holiday.
