To be fair this hotel was quite good by turkey self catering standards. Apartment was relativly large and spacious. 2 large pools and in september lots of available sun beds.
They do charge for Air con but i travel to turkey every year and this is the norm, last year i also went to cyprus and paid alot more for aircon.
Staff were okay not all were fluent in English, Alex made some days entertaining but apart from this there was a lack of daytime activities.
Entertainment was provided everynight however was the same every week. Everynight was busy lots of people stayd on the hotel.
Location: this hotel is quite far out from the actual resort, around 20 mins walk, all downhill however coming home is all uphill. Local buses available.
Clean enough maids came in regularly changed sheets and towels.
I only paid £360 for this holiday for 2 weeks so cant complain. as previously said lift was out for the whole 2 weeks stay, got told to use another lift at the other side of hotel however there is many wee stairs around this hotel.
In saying this there is no point in reading any of the reveiws for this hotel as it has been renovated and changed from a self catering accomidation to all inclusive.

well what can i say ! went to the esra on 2nd sept for 2 weeks self catering first nite we got there we were told if we drink in the two puds across the road we carnt drink in the esra, then the lifts diddnt work for a week and a half the rooms were ok but u were lucky if u got clean towels all they done was empty your bins and make the bed. Then we were facing the pool and the bar is open 24 7 so u dont get any sleep for the noise the staff dont bother with u if u dont tip them all the time one barman was nice is name was HAPPY and mammet and john who do the turkish bath were great they always made u feel welcome, i wouldnt go back to that place if they paid me and next year its going fully inclusive they have a lot of work to do gud luck. I WOULD GO BACK TO ALTINKUM AS ITS A GREAT PLACE BUT WOULD PICK BETTER HOTEL.

Please do not go here is you value a good holiday in a clean environment. We have just returned from a week from the Esra. It is a filthy hotel with mould in the bathroom and the rooms are filthy. The maid came to empty the bins but she cleaned nothing. The shop in the appts is a complete rip off, they sell the cast off's of holiday makers for example, adsa angel delight? tesco value butter? pasta n sauce? it is all the stuff people take for self catering and leave behind and they then resell it! there are no proper cooking facilites and utensils. You have to pay additional for a toaster and aircon. The two ring you have for cooking are awful and there is no shops locally to buy anything suitable to cook. (unless you like food cast offs). Altinkum is in the middle of nowhere, Dolphin sq is about a 10 minute walk and is full of restaraunts catering for brits abroad. If you like pie beans and chips then this is fr you. Romeos in Dolphin Sq is nice has some nice local food but there is nothing else to do there. The sky bar is the best for food, service is excellent the owner/staff very welcoming and we spent most of our time there. At the Esra no one is interested in you unless you are a single female and the turkish guys seems to have pciked up a few girlfriends from groups. Watch your daughters. This seems not very nice but we observed more than a few pick ups you dont actually know who are staff and who are locals. there was also a dead rat in the grounds near the swimming pools - vermin disease? The reviews here are very misleading typically i would say if you are a sophisticated traveller stay away this place has no standards of cleanliness or health and certainly does not offer anything for the discerning traveller. If you dont value style comfort sophistication culture this is for you! Full of brits, loud, inconsiderate with no thoughts for anyone but themselves and their drink. Do not go!!!! Ps at the sirport it will cost you £4.50 for a can of juice! you've been warned go at your peril.

i stayed at the esra this year in august and it was the best holiday of my life!, im 13 but went with my mum step dad and little brother and some friends and the staff are so friendly and polite, we go every year and ave been going since i was very young so we know mostly everyone there, but the hotel is brilliant great fun the pools are big they have lots of sun beds and a pool with 3 large slides. I loved it and in the night they have good entertainment but the dancing part is the best! the food is nice but usually we walk down to dolphin square whih is about 10 minutes away, i met loades and loades of friends out there and everyone is just having so much fun:), the rooms are clean but abit old fashioned but if your like me we dont really spend any time in the room anyway only to sleep in, i recommend going to the zanzi and sky bar across the road as it is great fun in the night so overall I LOVED IT :D (hope this helps x)

Just come back after staying at the Esra for two weeks, its a great place to stay and I would recommend it to any one.
The staff are so friendly! Just watch out for Alex as he has a habit of chucking people in the pools!! The entertainment on a night time was great, though it could do with a two week change. The food was lovely but I recommend taking a walk into Dolphin Square which is about 10 minute walk and trying other Turkish Resturants. The cleaners came into our room everyday to tidy up and empty the bins, and sheets/towels are changed every other day. There is two bars across from the Esra called ' Sky Bar' & 'Zanzi Bar', I dont recommend the food in Sky Bar as it is very dry, and the breakfast is vile! Yet Zanzi Bar's breakfast is the best, a full english cost 9lira, yet cheese on toast there is the best by far!! Zanzi Bar is also very entertaining on a night time if your looking for a laugh then go here!!! I cant wait to head back to the Esra as i miss it already!!!!!

have just come home from a 2 week holiday to altinkum where we stayed at the ESRA apart.... there were 23 of us all together inc my famly of 5,2 adults & 3 children aged 17, 14 & 12... I dont know where to start, it was absolutely amazing, our first time in Turkey & we had a ball!!!
The staff at the ESRA were amazing, cant fault them one bit, nothing is too much trouble, they are friendly, helpfull, entertaining & treat you like royalty even though there was so many of us they were still so accommodating- they would move tables so we could all sit together of an evening:)
2 nice big swimming pools plus baby pool both with plenty of sunbeds, never had a problem getting a sunbed!
Our room was plenty big enough with a great view of the pool & sea in the distant, probably couldve done with being a bit cleaner, the towels, bedding & bins were changed regular but not much other cleaning was done while we were there.... but this was only a small matter to me compared to everything else:)
There was plenty of entertainment on site, the food was lovely & as for the turkish bath & massage its a A MUST (ask for Mehmet, you wont be disappointed)
The apartments are well located to the beaches, restaurants (Ali G's, Emin are nice ones) & the main shopping centre all within a 10-15 stroll away!
well i dont think theres much else i can say about the place.. apart from a big thankyou to all the staff for making my first holiday in Turkey a fantastic one, hoping to go back next year:)

We are a family of 4 with kids age 6 & 9. Recently stayed at the Esra for 2 weeks. We had an excellent holiday. Rooms are fairly small but are cleaned daily & towels changed regularly. Staff are great & cant do enough for you. Loads of evening entertainment wuth Alex, JJ and Memhet. Waiting/bar staff work very long hours & never complain. Shop is very overpriced, would use the one over the road. Food was always nice.
No problems with noise, entertainment finishes around midnight. The local bars & restaurants were also good & the staff in Zanzi bar were especially great with the kids. 1st trip to Turkey & it has totally changed my opinion of the place. Cant wait to return next year.

first time we have stayed at the Esra, though it was our second time in Turkey. Our stay was made all the more special by the staff who were absolutly brilliant. nothing was too much trouble for them, when we left it was with great sadness as we had made good friends with nearly all the staff. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable, facilities were good and the pools were spotless. The walk to the main beach takes about 10 mins but it's a nice stroll, just far enough away from the noise of the main area. We were very lucky to be part of a Turkish wedding as the bride and groom chose to hold their evening 'do' around the large pool at the Esra, All the holiday makers had a slice of cake and joined in the celebrations. Definatly a holiday not to be forgotten.
planning to go back again next year.
Would definatly recommend
