Just returned from my second visit to esra apartments and absolutely loved it again. I visited the resort last year and did not want to leave, the same happened this year.
The country is spectacular and everyone at the hotel is so friendly and absolutely amazing. You feel so welcome and appreciated when you visit this resort.
The weather is so hot and the nightlife is excellent with a huge range of bars and clubs. The best bar was Seal bar where they play English music and entertain you till the early hours of the morning. The best and most welcoming restaurant by far was Saltan Restaurant. This was because I met with all my friends from last year and they are so entertaining . I miss them all, Chatty, Leon, Jack and Adam.
Back to the apartments, you are never bored when staying here, you are entertained all day and all night with dancing and just hilarious moments which you will never forget. By far this has been my beat holiday of my life and would recommend it to anyone, from young children and families to teenagers on a clubbing holiday.
I cant physically put the holiday down in words as it was brilliant. I love it so much that I think I might go back next year to make it a third time lucky.
I want to say a massive hello and I love you to JACK, JOSEPH, SIMON and ALEX. They made our holiday so much fun and also not forgetting Chatty and LEON at Saltan Restaurant. it would not have been a holiday if they were not there. Hope you will all be there next year as I might be returning next year.
Overall Esra Apartments is an amazing resort and you are guaranteed a brilliant time there.

Just got back from Esra Apartments we had been there previously in 2000 the change in the hotel has been dramatic there is a second pool with slides and a new restaurant. We stopped for two weeks and loved it!
There was something to do all the time yet we didn’t stay at the pool all the time and spent the day at the 3rd beach we did walk it there but when we were coming back we ordered a free dalmas from the penguin bar.
The nights at the apartments always had something to offer varying from bbq night, Turkish night ,pool tournaments and offers at the bar which normally liven people up.
The staff were the best part of the holiday they made it completely worth while there is always something to talk to and they love joking around with you and dancing.
Although we did go into town for the evening meal the hassle we got was a bit much but you jus had to tell them that you’d already eaten. There were a few good restaurants but the Esra's food was by far the best.
We stayed for two weeks and loved it I loved it that much I didn’t want to leave

We have just returned from our sixth visit to Altinkum but this was our first stay at Esra. The room we stayed in was not the one advertised in either the brochure, television or the Internet.
It was half the size and felt very cramped for three of us. Our daughter had to sleep in the living area and we had to climb over her bed to get to the balcony which was a small triangle.
We had a view of the sea but only if we leaned out over the balcony and looked to the left! The only good point about our room was that it was clean.
We found the staff friendly at times but not as friendly as we have experienced at other places.
The prices were also higher than most other places so we did not eat or drink there very often.
Overall we have decided not to stay at Esra again.

We found the people of Altinkum very friendly and at times overly invading in our privacy we found a simple "no" wasn’t enough. The hotel facilities were the best in the area. It has 3 pools one with 3 slides going into it. which were in action 3 times per day for half an hour and supervised by the hotel staff. The entertainment was really good but very repetitive and we were tired of the same routine by the second week.
The prices for food are reasonable however we could not believe how expensive the alcohol was we paid £2.50 for vodka and coke in the resort and even more in the hotel. Even the soft drinks for the kids were the same as you pay at home. There is a kids club but only Tomsons customers can use it.
We felt a bit hard done by the hotel rules as we were self catering we were expected to buy our own toilet roll but at poolside we were not allowed our own food and drink they expected us to pay the bar prices which were more expensive than at home. It just felt they had you paying for everything.
The beaches are great especially the 3rd beach, Denize bar will send a bus to take you there and give free lilos for the kids, We spent a lot of time there and the price of food and drink were a lot cheaper than at the pool.
We also enjoyed a day on Taffys British Boat which I strongly recommend he and his wife are lovely people.
Most of the bars and restaurants will offer a free car service to collect you from the hotel and return you which was really good and there is a bus that takes you anywhere for 40p we used that a lot.
We went to the market and had a lot of fun we managed to haggle and paid only half of the original asking price on some things.

Just arrived back from a great holiday in Altinkum, staying at the Esra apartments, the Esra is great clean and friendly the staff although over worked always have a smile and can’t do enough for you, say hello to Jack Charlie Simon and all the guys, the bbq night is a good night with good food also the Turkish night is good fun although we think the entertainment on other nights could do with some serious work.
Dolphine square is a good night out with plenty of bars and restaurants with good food reasonably priced, the Dolphine square bar was a favourite with all night entertainment but after 2weeks becomes a little repetitive but everywhere is the same. A down side is the hassle you get from the guys trying to get you to eat at their restaurant but they are only doing their job and are very polite about it.
The Saturday market is an experience not to be missed with lots of genuine fakes at bargain prices but do watch some of the prices as some things can be cheaper in other places. The local bus service that can be hailed at the bottom of the road is cheap and frequent and you can get to most places on it but they can sometimes get a bit crowded. The Altinkum Aqua Park is about 15 mins away by bus and is well worth a visit with plenty to do with big water splash slides, which the kids loved.
The Apollo ruins is another place to visit and again about 10mins on the bus,. The area around the Esra is not as pretty as some other places and there is a lot of building work going on but I must stress no noise as apparently they can’t do any major building work during the tourist season, hence you will see a bit of half or almost finished buildings.
All in all though we had a great 2 weeks and will definitely return sometime if only to see the guys at the Esra as it was they that made our holiday.

Never again! Jus returned form Esra with a party of 25 whom have been visiting the exact same hotel since 2000! The staff have all changed and are ignorant towards teenage boys because they are jealous of the competition between the lads getting any girls! If you are taking girls keep them away from any male members of staff. Also reception staff need to learn how to smile. The maids were the nicest people in the hotel by far!
Its a good place to go if from your balcony (if you can get to it) you can see rubble and crappy hotels being built and if you want a 10-15 min walk into Altinkum every day for a meal however the meals within the complex were quite nice.
All I can say is each to there own but I would never visit turkey again as this has put me off for life!
