Altinkum is a fairly small resort (have just had my 12th holiday there in 5 years). It is clean, quiet and the people are extremely friendly. The Burak hotel is in a very central location. Believe the brochures when they say its 100 metres from the beach. The staff are... more

I love Altinkum
I loved Altinkum!! ive been going for the last 7 years to altinkum ive stayed at the burak, nazar and the emre hotel. They are all fantastic hotels, the burak and the nazar are closer to the centre and the emres up at the police station. Im just back from the burak in august there and im going back to the mutlu in october for a week. I booked my holiday through Going Places who were fantastic! If you go to altinkum u should definastly go into dolphin square where all the bars are! I couldnt get away from the dolphin bar, cheers ege and swan theyr all fantastic and so r the guys that work in them! definatly the place to go
Give the Burak a round of applause
Just got back from a really fantastic week at the Burak, very positive stay there, cant fault it. Very friendly staff...cant do enough for you. Rooms were spotlessly clean and the food was excellent. weather was exceptionally hot for May so we were glad of the air conditioning, it was needed!! Anyone else that stays at the Burak must have a meal at Sonias(across the road) and Friends Cafe( just round the back) where Mustapha, the owner, will make you more than welcome, Really enjoyed Altinkium will holiday there again(hopefully in September)!!
Lovely place
We have stayed at the BURAK for the past 3 years, and have never had any problems. Staff always helpful, polite and nothing is to much trouble for them to assist you. We have stayed in 3 different hotels in Altinkum and this is by far the best weve tried.
Nice hotel - horrible location
This was our first and last package holiday together as we normally design our own or go somewhere 'different'. Whilst the hotel is clean, the air-con works, the food is OK and the staff are very friendly, the location is awful, overcrowded and typically touristy. Traditional turkish does not exist as the place is very english. It is easier to get an english fry up than anything turkish. Any visit towards the beach is a fight against the market stalls selling tacky clothes and genuine fake watches. The location is possibly nice out of season but we would not recommend it during peak season.
top hotel top location
we stayed at the burak in june 2005 the staff were very friendly the rooms were basic but clean like many hotels in altinkum the area is brill because its close to many thinks like beach bars and resturants, the swimming pool is lovely and clean.when coming out of reception outside over the road there is a cafe called sonya's they do a brill english and at a decent price owned my a lovely jourdy lady x x x x x x x x
A beautifully quiet and clean hotel - well located
We had the most brilliant fortnight here. The hotel was immaculately clean; the staff very friendly; the location excellent - close to beach, bars, restaurants and shops, and dolmuses stop outside. If you enjoy staying in the Ritz, then this not the hotel for you, but if you want clean simplicity and friendliness with excellent prices, then you will not fault this hotel. If it were not for the fact that we want to see other areas of Turkey - just booked 3 weeks in Icmeler in May 2006 - we would have absolutely no hesitation in going back - which we will probably do in September 2006. All in all, a totally great Hotel - if you go, give our love to Sue behind the bar, and tell her Anni & Jude will see her soon! And don't forget to eat at Nick's Place (just behind the Burak). The Testi Pot is thoroughly recommended, as is Betty's HotPot!
super place to stay staff very friendly
we had a lovely time my wife and daughter in law and two children the children loved the freedom of the hotel as all the staff were so kind to them and we had no worries about the boys around the hotel. the food was good and always made welcome at every meal and as a party we never felt at risk anywhere we went will go back again
Lovely & Clean, Loved The pool, a few problems with staff
Its a very nice hotel, very clean and the majority of the staff are really nice, but very touchy feely with women but is meant in a nice way. There are a few staff in the evening that I didnt like. But the day staff are very helpful and they make the day fun if you stay at the hotel. English Breakfasts are £2, they are enough but don't expect one like you buy in an english cafe. The Hotel is in the centre of Altinkum and is an ideal place for the beach, markets, bars and restaraunts. Safety deposit boxes are reasonably priced at £8 for the week, but conditioning which you will need especially in the summer months is quite expensive at £3(7 lira)per night. Through July and August you are guaranteed at least 90 degrees, as told by the locals. Also Turkish people are very welcoming of tourists to the extent of pulling you into bars, restaraunts and shops. So overall, I would go again and enjoyed it. Hope this helps you ;-)
Great location
Good hotel - opt for full board option only £5-00 per night each when we were there. Bar a little expensive - Friday night at hotel poor cabaret Turkidh very pushy - can't pass any bar/restaurant/shop without a friendly hello - they don't understand English window shopping.
Nice hotel, great location but poor staff
Hotel was OK. Great location, close to beach, close to Dolphin Square where all the english pubs are. The only problem being the staff. The men were over friendly (very touchy feely - too much - inparticular the evening bar staff) and the women struggled to raise a smile.
