5 / 10
Aug 2008, Mr T.D. Meakin

We Chose this Hotel because of its Central location , and we was fully prepared for the noisy location as read in other reviews ..What we did not realise was the buses do run 24 hours and are ever 10 mins or so , so if you do get a street facing room , be warned ...even if its hot you may need to close the window ..
As for the location , you could not wish for anything more central , walking distance of shops , bars , and very close to the Post Office , a must visit , I have never seen a post office like it before in my life ...
The room did look as though it could have done with a little bit of love and attention , but for the time we was in there it was quite sufficient .
I think the Hotel as a whole is in need if a real good fettle . and maybe a hoovering would not go ammiss along the coridors and stairs .
The breakfast however was better than anticipated as it turned out to be a full english breakfast style were I was expecting nothing more than continental ..however all the workers in the hotel where East Europian and they do come across a little abrupt at times ..
My main grief was actually after the event , and was really my fault anyway , I left a T shirt behind , now usually I would not have even bothered , but this was a rather expensive one and first time on while there .
First it took me ages to actually find the Hotels phone number , and once done my THREE DAY phone calls started , On the First call I made I was promised a call back , NO CALL , I rang again , only to be told that they where waiting for feedback from the hoiusekeeper , again promised a call back ..NO CALL , I rang again , again promised the manager would call me back , NO CALL , I rang yet again and this time got hold of the manager who informed me that no items had been found , and maybe it had been rolled up with the bedding and sent out for cleaning , I was assured that the Manager would Personally contact the cleaning company and DEFINATELY get back to me to inform me either way .... two weeks on I am still waiting for the call ......
This has somewhat clouded my judgement on the hotel , and I can't help wondering if my shirt looks good on the housemaids partner , Not accusing folk maybe its just me being way too synical .....

Feb 2005, Miss J McGucken

Cheap accommodation and staff were pleasant and helpful.
Room was basic and the kettle didn’t work, although other than that it was very good for what we paid. Only problem was the room was slightly warm.
Was excellently positioned on O’Connell Street, just a 5 min walk to temple bar, 10 min to Grafton Street.
Overall it was good value for money and superbly placed, and we only booked 2 weeks before hand.
A+++
