We < two family's> spent Christmas 2009 at this hotel. As it happens Spain had the worst rain it had had in years.Parts of the hotel were flooded as this building was just not built for such rain just like most in Spain. It was all over the local news about villages... more

Booked the hotel in December and paid fully by June. Then arrived in August to find they were actually fully booked and so they had no room for the 11 of us eventhough we had rung a few weeks before to confirm the booking. Left stranded in their lobby they did not assist us... more

Well on a good note the entertainment (koko loco disco)every night at 9pm is fantastic for the kids they love it. Anyone considering All inclusive I really would advise against its not worth it. Kids can only get ice cream between 5pm and 6pm (whats the point so close to... more

Two friends and I have just returned from a week stay at the Roc El Pinar. The complex is predominantly Spanish and very family orientated which didn't worry us as all we wanted was a nice base. The apartment on arrival was clean albeit dated but this quickly deteriorated... more

crap crap crap
We have just arrived back from a 2 week holiday at the el piner and it was the holiday from hell. on arrival to the hotel we couldn't belive the hill we had to climb with our cases, we wish this had been stated on booking as my husband has a heart condition and nearly never made it to the top. that was just the start of our problems. when we got to our room we could not belive our eyes the room was so small and it didn't even have a balcony just a small window it did not have a kettle and 2 small cooker rings however we did complain and got... more
Excellent Stay at the El Pinar....
We are just back from a 4 night mini break from this hotel and have to report that the entire stay was flawless. Naturally we had some reservations after reading some poor reviews- but we need not have worried. We got a taxi (15 Euro) on arrival at Malaga airport and in just under 10 minutes arrived at the hotel. The entrance is impressive- marble effect etc... we checked in with a friendly receptionist and was given our room on the 6th Floor. The room was airy, large and very clean with Marble floors...the two beds were of a... more
El Pinar Apartments and Hotel
I stayed at this hotel for a week in March 2005. I got a 1 bedroomed apartment all to myself. I was extremely apprehensive prior to my departure because of some of the reviews I had read but have to admit, they were not justified. The apartment was huge, well appointed and clean. It has two televisions, a large bathroom with two sinks, large twin bedroom and in the lounge was a sofa bed, 4 chairs and table. The Kitchenette was the smallest part of the appartment. The only drawback about the apartment I was in was that the balcony was... more
The El Pinar was really good
We have just returned after a week at the El Pinar, it is a very acceptable hotel, the rooms were very clean and modern, the staff very helpful, we thought that the food though was a bit moderate, we were bed and breakfast so we ate out mostly. The entertainment is quite good to, Flamenco dancers one of the evenings. The El Pinar was a perfect location for us just on the outskirts of Torremolinas, set in some really lovely grounds, we had a view of the mountains to the right of us and a view of the sea to the left, from the 11th... more
El Pinar great price if you don't sleep
I read reviews of El Pinar and there were good and bad. We stayed there one night due to our timeshare week ended on Sunday and our flight was on Monday. The studio was very large with a balcony at least 4 by 3 meters. The view was of the other building but you could ask for one with a view of the garden and if you were high enough up you could see the sea. The problem was you could hear everything outside your room all night long. People coming and going as if they were in your head. So if you have ear plugs the place is great.
lovely hotel, poor location.
Just returned from a 5 night stay at the El Pinar. The hotel is lovely, room was huge and quite impressive. We had a large balcony with a view of the two lovely pools. staff seemed freindly enough especially the cleaners who do a good job. The food was nothing to shout about but was edible. The only downfall to this hotel is that it is out of the way, a good twenty minute walk to the town and beach front, although there is a free bus which runs every half hour from the hotel and taxis are quite cheap. We thought the... more
Value for money
Just returned from a 4 night stay at the El Pinar. The Apartments were quite large and very clean. There are two very nice swimming pools to choose from, one is ideal for children. A free shuttle bus runs from the Hotel to the beach or central Torremolinos between 9am and 8pm. Taxi's are also very reasonable. Not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties, but very good value for money.
Had a great time!
We stayed in a one bedroom apartment for 4 weeks, from 15 January to 12 February. Apartment was clean and comfortable. Equipment was basic, but perfectly adequate. Bed linen was changed regularly and towels changed every day. Cleaning was good. The courtesy bus service was punctual and excellent. Though it stopped at 2000 hrs, a taxi from the centre of Torremolinos is only 5 euros, if you really cant face the 20 minute stroll back to the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, and maintenance when requested turned up in all of 5... more
Recently remodeled El Pinar
Just stayed there (2/05). Maybe not a 4 star but a high 3. Clean, looks good. Smoky public areas as per much of Europe. Good service at counters. Excellent breakfast with eggs, undercooked bacon, lunch meats, cheezes, cereals, several breads, coffee, hot chocolate, tea, etc. FREE bus service to center of town (Torremolinos) and beach area. Internet monitor (one) in lobby--1 euro for 10 minutes. beautiful grounds and pools, nice rooms especially if you get high up with an ocean view. 10 minute walk to Burger King and supermarket. Very good... more
30th January to 4th Feb
Arrived at hotel on 30th January a little anxious after reading reviews but were pleasantly surprised. The apartment was quite spacious, clean and fully equipped with a large balcony over looking really nice gardens and the swimming pool and the outside bar/entertainment - bonus in Summer. The apartment was clean, bathroom was very clean and quite big. The maids came in every day and were always polite and cheerful. There was heating in the apartment as and when necessary. We ate at the restaurant and found it okay. The only... more
