O My God lol
We found this hotel to just as expected, clean and basic well worth the money we paid !!
The food was basic but there was plenty of it and a reasonable selection even for my daughter who is one of the pickyest eaters,
the room we had did have a faulty ceiling fan but a quick word with reception broght us a 12 " table fan which was adequate for the job !!! it was maid serviced daily and clean.
The carpet that everyone seems to mention is taty and stained !! WHOWever it is there for two reasons that I could see
1 its is for safety to stop the water that the kids run into the place causing an accident !!
2 the noise from 150 + people going up and down in flip flops on marble stairs would be really annoying !! especially if your room was next to the stairwell
In all it is better to have than not !! after all it is hard to clean a carpet that is glued to the floor on a daily basis with people spilling drinks etc on it daily !!
the staff were pushed to the limit but managed to cope i thought rather well considering what they had to do (a lot) The BAR was a big let down (nuff said)

lets start by puting a few of the reviews i read straight. anyone who gave this HOTEL more that a 5 either works there or has to book holidays to there.here goes 1. it is probably short of closer to 10 staff not 3. 2.SOME of the staff are pleasent and friendly (especially when they are walking round shaking there tip box).3.the food wasent that bad there just wasent enough choice and they didnt do chips every night. right now to what i really think lol. just so you know i go all inclusive every year so this isnt a 1 off and i have somthing to compare it to. all free drinks stop at 11pm not 12 like the others iv been to. there are 79 rooms and only 40 sunbeds round the pool and on average 3 to a room, u do the math.the animations chap(borat) does the childens ENTERTAINMENT hahaha during the day and all the entertainment at night. night 1 bingo. night 2 magic show done by borat. night 3 carijoky on the 28inch 1980 tv. 4 watch video on the 28inch 1980 tv. 5 piano man(only thing borat didnt do) no piano and squealing songs of a screen that he couldent read.6 bingo. better stop with that im feeling sick again. 1 man behind the bar(sometimes when he could be bothered) all day and night. first all inclusive iv been on that didnt do any snacks. they want to charge u for water.the pool is stagnent cause the pumps dont work and it wasent cleaned at all all week, just toped up some evenings with a hose. the cleaners come in most days for a few hours but only fix ur beds(dont change them) and hang ur towels back up unless they look really dirty. we had no water on last day which stank the hotel out as the couldent flush any toilets.if u have a late deparcher u cant keep a room on leaving day as the cleaners have gone home and they have no one to clean them after u leave. the food isnt bad but very limited choice.thinking hard for a good point the beach is lovely.the rooms are adaquate cause u only sleep in em. if u want a sunbed round the pool u have to get up around 7am.the gym, sauna and jacuzzi they mention was not open or when asked available all week. the park that they mention is actually a slide and a rocking horse stuck round the side of the building in about 8 square feet.the games rome is a pool table outside and a pinball machine inside. the tv room is actually in the bar with no sky on the 28inch1980 tv. the actual town is nice but lived in by locals, very few shops and the beach is a good 20 min walk by a fit 32 year old.i could quite easy write alot more but il finish with if u still have a choice DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL

there are 3 thing this hotel needs,
1) 2 or 3 more staff as the current ones are rushed off their feet.
2) Air conditioning
3) More evening entertainment
the rooms are basic but adequate, ok so the stairs carpets are tacky but you dont sleep or sunbathe there. the food was slightly repetitive. the pool is on the small side but then it only caters for approx 150 people. the staff are very helpful if you are civil to them unlike some people while we stayed there. sebastian does hos best to entertain but as i say he is a one man band.
this hotel could be better if the company that owns this hotel could be more bothered about its up keep.

Having read some of the reviews on here prior to my holiday I was dreading going to this hotel! However, on arrival I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were basic but clean, and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly! There was a good choice of food and drinks, and, for days spent away from the hotel, substantial picnics were provided. Although our ceiling fan did not work as well as it should have done, we were provided with a table-top fan which more than made up for it! Overall, considering that the entire holiday only cost us £350 each I was really impressed and would definately go back again!
In terms of the local area, the town is beautiful but very quiet. There are a wide range of restaurants providing good local food at a wide range of prices. The only minor problem that we found was that public transport did not seem to be overly reliable, so hiring a car may be a good idea!

Reviewer: Julio, Amsterdam.
My family and I booked this hotel because we prefer small hotels. We thought that it would be a nice family hotel.
But the room for us was small and at night to hot. The fan attached to the selling made to much noise. We had half board. That was good for the price.
After a few days my son’s PSP was stolen out of the hotel room. Later we discovered that a shirt and a bracelet of my wife were stolen too. I reported this to the police. Two Guardia Civil policemen came to see the room. They remarked that the door locks were not so good. There were no traces of burglary. So someone got in the room with a key!!
Later we heard that other family’s in the hotel had the same experience. An Ipod, a mobile phone, jewellery and perfume were stolen from several people.
We never heard something from the management of the hotel. Not even an excuse.!!!!
My opinion is that the hotel staff does not care and take their responsibility. Disinterested staff.

I cannot understand why people slate this hotel. The bottom line is YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!! You didnt pay 300-400 quid and expect a week at the Ritz did you?! The hotel is clean, the staff are great, there was a good variety of food. If you want a nice relaxing holiday this is the place to go. There isnt much of a nightlife but it's the perfect setting for a romantic week away. Overall it was really good value for money and i will also be going back in the future. Recomended.

This hotel was a DISGRACE.
we planned a cheap gettaway for 4 in what was meant to be a wonderful resort.
The manger spat on our table,
The waitress ate our food
The receptionist was drunk
After a horrific day at the pool, we went back to our room to read a book and saw the maid and butler asleep on our bed!!
We were told of a seaview room and we looked out of our window to see a man weeing in the street.
We had to treck to Japan for the nearest beach!(with a pram)
When we asked what type of pizza was on display, they told us oxe tail and swans next from last week - LEFTOVERS!!
When we tried to complain, they hit my children!
If you have ANY kind of DECENCY you will NOT go to this DISGRACEFUL HOTEL.
We hope you take our compaint seriously.
GOOD LUCK. (hope you dont die of food poisoining like my grandma did.)

I am totally shocked and surprised at the comments that this little Hotel has been receiving. I have been at this Hotel 3 times under the 2 start rating that it had at the time, the food was excellent on all my visits, the staff were pleasant, the rooms were cleaned everyday with fresh towels and bedding.
I can honestly say that the only thing that lets this hotel down is the mentality of tourist who come to visit this hotel. They have no self control on the free drink and would rather eat mars bars and pot noodles round the swimming pool instead of eat the food provided.
You are all an embarrassment to the united kingdom and would be better to stay at home.
Final word, this hotel is value for money and Porto Colom is a fab wee place with plenty of beaches and time to relax.
I for one will always return

We chose this hotel based on price and the (wrong) assumption that, as Porto Colom is one of the quieter areas of Mallorca, the hotel had to be OK.
Check in was totally hassle free although the chap behind the counter was less than friendly! We were directed to our room and found it without a problem but were shocked by the small size of it. The thought of asking to change rooms crossed our mind but stuck with what we were given as ours was at the rear of the hotel and we really didn't want to be overlooking the pool due to noise. I think the guests the week that we stayed may have been a particularly rowdy bunch! It was clean enough but when I squashed a mosquito on the ceiling it did cross my mind that, if I went back to the same room next year it would probably still be there. Let's say the cleaners do the bare essentials!
Breakfast was passable but the rest of the food was AWFUL!!! Quite why people rushed in at 7:00 for dinner was beyond me! The food had pictures above it rather than names, presumably so they could recycle the slop day in day out without actually having to name the dishes. On the day they served rabbit, I mistook the picture for a rat and went for the pasta option instead ;). A shame really as I'm quite partial to a bit of rabbit! We ate out for 5 of the 7 nights we were in Porto Colom. There are some nice restaurants in the town and some REALLY nice restaurants if you turned left out of the hotel and walked round to the marina.
If you are looking for a nice bar without the usual Sky TV and Draught Carling then also head in this direction and be sure to visit the Cuban themed bar. Very nice indeed. The all inclusive bar at the hotel was good for a couple of evening drinks but a number of the guests used it to it's full potential from the moment it opened in the morning. We found it could get a bit rowdy round the pool as the day wore on as a result. Pedro the barman was a dude. Possibly the coolest member of staff at the hotel.
The local beach is great and about a fifteen minute walk from the hotel. Loungers come in at about €5.50 per person per day and there's a few places to eat also. El Cactus comes recommended. Great nachos, good salads and some awesome home made burgers. Only real criticism was a lack of toilet facilities on the beach.
In the end we treated the hotel as a base and did our own thing. The surroundings weren't great, the food was lousy and the entertainment (if that's your thing) was either non-existent or a total joke. However, the free bar was a bonus for a couple of beers after a day at the beach and the room was OK for getting a good nights sleep. All in all you get what you pay for. The Estoril is a cheap hotel and it shows in many aspects. Porto Colom and the surrounding area, however, is lovely.
In summary: Visit Porto Colom, relax and enjoy everything it has to offer....... but stay anywhere other than the Hotel Estoril!

We also read the reviews with some scepticism before leaving for Majorca. Unfortunately this hotel seems to have had lots of bad reviews for no apparent reason. It’s a good little place for a cheap relaxing holiday.
The hotel itself is ok. The carpets are shabby but who cares, you don’t go on holiday to look at carpets. The rooms are clean; the towels are changed when you want them to be changed.
The pool is a little on the small side but adequate for the hotel size. The sun loungers do seem to be hogged by some people but I think that is always the case wherever you go.
The food is fine. Lots of choice. No descriptions but it’s easy to discover what the meals are. It’s all home cooked meals not junk food.
The resort itself has a quiet, relaxing feel to it with lots of nice marina side cafes and bars. The beach at Cala Marcal is very nice.
Taxi from the airport to Porto Colom was 75 euros, however this was late at night and it’s cheaper during the day. We actually got the bus back to the airport which cost only 13 euros for myself and my partner.
Overall for the money you pay for a holiday like this, you won’t get five star lifestyle, you will just get a pleasant relaxing holiday.

If you are looking for a hotel in this resort that has miserable staff, horrible food covered in grease, rooms not too clean, then this is the one for you.
We have just come back from a 10 day stay & can honestly say we are pleased to be home.
The resort of Porto Colom is lovely which is the only upside of this holiday. We booked through Sunmaster on the internet which is something we won't do again, as the description was totally inaccurate.
On arriving at 1'0clock in the morning we were totally shocked at the condition of the room. It was very dark & dingy, & even in the daylight we had to keep the light on. We complained the next day, but to give them their due they offered us another room 2 days later which was supposed to have a view overlooking the swimming pool. Instead the view was looking at a blank wall.
Also I purposely did not take my hairdryer as there was supposed to be one in the room, & when I queried this was told there were no hairdryers in any of the rooms.
Many guests complained about the food which was cold & very unappetising, & the staff in the dining room were the most miserable people I have come across. So DON'T go to the Estoril.

We booked this holiday about 5 hours before the flight, and having read previous reviews was curious as to what we'd find. We have two little children....and overall had a great time. I found the staff friendly and helpful and really hard working....our hotel room was well cleaned, and I heard from another guest that their messy room had been beautifully tidied. When we asked for a fan they sent for someone to come and fix one for us. Have to say I did find the rooms really warm at night, so slept on the balcony under the stars! The pool was great....the children lived in it. There is this weird custom of people coming out to reserve their sun lounge at an unearthly hour. The food was great for us...it is basic, but there was lots of choice and it was local and fresh. The kids loved it. Evening entertainment was ok........the kids had great fun dancing on the balcony to all the music. I think for all inclusive it's a pretty good deal...porto colum is delightful....the beach near the lighthouse is lovely and jelly fish free....as there were quite a few jelly fish at other spots. Bus service great....only 2 euros each to Cala d'or and twenty mins away. Great stuff for the kids to do in the evening....fishing down at the harbour, and bouncy castle, trampoline in the square round the corner. I did come away feeling bit embarassed to be a brit, hearing reports of some of the crowds that have come over the summer season with high demands and expectations, .....why do we expect so much if it is just a two star hotel.....you get what you pay for....and the other review that said go with an open mind was spot on. thank you...we did, and loved it. Great crowd of people too during our week!
