The good bits - this place was spotlessly clean and the food was of a consistently good standard. There was plenty of food and it was fresh and quite varied. There was a special children's food bar but have to say my boys (10 & 13) tended to avoid it. I could see that the... more

The hotel itself is located in a quiet area of Benidorm away from the main heart of the town, although there are a few bars approx 100m away these charge over the top for basic drinks, a simple sex on the beach cocktail cost 7 euros!!. A good bar for football fans is... more

Great :)
Before we left for this holiday we read a number of mixed reviews on this hotel, some good some bad. The hotel is very clean, room cleaned every day and rooms spacious. Food is ok plenty of choice But not much choice for children and restrauant open most of the day and late at night. The staff are very friendly and treated us all very well. Shops quite out of the way, twenty minutes walk to the main shops and beach . Entertainment good for children but not adults, it gets very boring. Overall, we have had no complaints about this hotel and we would recommend coming here whatever your age.
8/10
hotel is lovely, very clean and pretty new. we took a lady who was disabled and outdoor pool was not suitable as there is no hoist to get her in and out again. food is ok plenty of choice and open most of the day and night until late. quite out of the way of the shops but only ten minutes walk though and also to the beach. I would go back here. We went all inclusive and you are limited to one drink/ice cream per person which is rather annoying as you have to keep going back up to the bar ! but was all in all an ok cheap holiday
Great Hotel
The first thing we noticed when we got there was how nice the hotel looked and how clean it was. The hotel is only on threee floors and not one of Benidorms large multi storey hotels. There were people cleaning around the hotel from first thing in the morning till last thing at night, the place was virtually spotless most of the time. We found the service at the reception very good once we got there and got to our room very easily. When you go to the bar for drinks you are only allowed to take two cards at a time, but this helps move the queues quicker and became easy to cope with. The lager did not seem to very strong this was the same for the spirits. It seemed like we could drink for a few hours and have no effects of the alcohol. The food was extremely good and there was a large selection and food available for most of the day. The staff around all of the hotel were good at doing there job and I never felt as if I was getting in there way. They never spoke much English but were always smiling when serving us. They tried really hard to get people together all day with various activities like pool competitions, dancing lessing water polo and many more activities. There is a childs play are around the back of the hotel which if we had not walked to the Mundo mar we would have not seen this, the kids would have loved this. The entertainment was not the greatest but it encourage us to go out to other bars and see what els Benidorm had to offer. The hotel is a good 15 to 20 minute walk from the beach and to Mundo mar and Aqualandia, I would advise buying ticks at the reception in the hotel as you get 3.5 euros per head discount. There are many bars and restaurants withing walking distance from the hotel. The one main problem I had at the hotel was they had signs around the pool saying that you could not reserve your sun beds by the pool. Unforunately these were ignored every day by the large amount of English folk there, and there was no one from the hotel enforcing this. A lot of people put towels down before breakfast and never got back to the pool all day except when picking there towels up after there dinner at night. If you thing I am taking about a couple of seats I am not there where a few days where I counter over 60 front pool side beds that had towels over them and not being used. It costs around 6 euros for a taxi to take you to the main nightlife area's of Benidorm.
Fine hotel but not for us
We booked our holiday through a travel agent and wanted a good standard as we were taking our two kids. The hotel was beautiful but there wasn't much of an atmosphere and the guests didn't mix much. The hotel was close to the water park and animal park, which are well worth a visit, but about a half hours walk to the main bars and clubs. This doesn't seem too long until you're doing it twice a day! The entertainment left alot to be desired and we usually headed into the town at night time. As there is so much to do in Benidorm, we had 3 full days out of the hotel and spent every night in the town and didn't really benefit much from the all inclusive package. Overall the hotel was okay but didn't suit us personally, due to the location and because we didn't get much from the all inclusive. Can't wait to go back to Benidorm though!
Top Marks
Just back from 10 days at this hotel - all inclusive. Given a room facing the Benidorm Palace, busy road, but very little noise heard in the room - even at night. Very clean hotel, cleaners always on the go - cannot fault that. Food We hit the 'wall' after 7 days. You get very tired of the food after a while - there was always a good choice, but towards the end of our visit we struggled and ate out a few times. Drink What can you say - EXCELLENT. Beer & spirits in plentiful supply - bar could get busy, but Q's never lasted that long and most of the bar staff cheery enough. Entertainment We have a 3 year old who LOVED the mini disco, always a team of 3 or 4 - the main guy was brilliant with the kids - total natural. Girls very good as well, and kept the whole night going. There was different entertainment each night, some a bit naff - but really could not fault at all. Bingo EVERY night !!!!!!! Rooms 4 single beds in each room. Everything spotless, very, very clean. We had a problem with toilet not flushing one day, was fixed within 15 minutes. No noise from rooms either side. TV had Sky News/BBC News and some local channels - you don't go to watch TV though. Pool Both pools very clean - no complaints. Sunbeds Towels usually down for 9am, if you want a lounger beside the kids pool then that is the best idea. Lifeguard could have done to be sitting on his perch more often rather than chatting the girl up at the shop!!! Reception 10/10 - very friendly. Was approx 15 mins walk to the beach, but plenty shops/cafes on the way down - so always plenty to look at. Beach itself very busy - we are not beach types, but looked good if you are into that. Again plenty shops/cafes beside the beach front. All in all, a good hotel, away from the main action, but well within walking distance.
Very Good
Just returned June 17 after 5 days all inclusive. Enjoyed it very much. Food was excellent and a great choice for every meal. Beer wasnt great and we had to pay for most spirits even though we we all inclusive. We didnt drink much but with alcohol so cheap from the supermarkets it wasnt a problem. Hotel was spotless and our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels also.Gym was very basic but I used the Hotel Dynastic (10 min walk) spa and gym for 8 euros a day which was great value and highly reccomended. I would reccomend the hotel and if im looking for short break again i will be going back.
Maid stole our phone and First Choice Rep Emily horrendous!!!!
We stayed at this hotel Whitsun week 26 may for one week and although the hotel was very spacious and quite modern, the food was repetitive, the loungers crammed in, hotel staff were unfriendly and the maid stole our mobile phone from our room whilst it was charging! There was no forced entry and from the conversation I had with the Hotel Manager I believe this is a common occurence. If youre travelling with First Choice your rep will be Emily who looks about ten and will not know the answer to anything that you ask her. Very inexperienced and very unhelpful.
Good value for the price
Just got back from an enjoyable week at Hotel Mediterraneo with my other half (29 May – 5 June). The hotel is well positioned away from the centre of the town, but still only 20 minutes walk from Levante Beach, 10 minutes walk from the excellent Aqualand Water Park and Munomar Animal Park and with plenty of bars and supermarkets within 5 minutes walk. Board is on an All Inclusive basis and you are issued with a ID card upon arrival which has to be shown to obtain drinks from the main and poolside bars and also at lunch and dinner times. This system seemed to work quite efficiently. We booked through lowcostbeds.com the total price for the hotel was £432 – so at £31 per person per night All Inclusive proved a real bargin. Took FLYBE flights from Southampton to Alicante and used a company called costa-blanca-transfers.com for transfers from airport to hotel. The hotel is spotlessly clean, with a whole army of cleaning staff always on duty. The rooms are spacious, with lovely bathrooms and daily towel changes. The TV has BBC Worldwide, SKY News and Eurosport, there is a small fridge but you have to pay a small charge for the safe. The food is pretty basic too be honest – breakfast is OK with a large selection of hot and cold items. Lunch again is OK, with some really nice salads but dinner did get a bit tedious too be honest and we ate out for 3 nights. There is no show cooking like some All Inclusive hotels, but there is a guy who looks scarily like Alexi Sayle cooking fresh meat. There is a separate area of kids foods and ample fairly basic desserts for all. Although the hotel was busy, we had no problems in getting a sun-bed and the pool although very cold, is large and again very clean, it was great to jump (or tip-toe) into to cool down. We didn’t use the indoor pool or gym but both looked good. I found the hotel bar staff too be fine, efficient and generally pleasant. The evening Entertainment is calamitous and too be honest is so bad it’s worth watching once or twice! We chose to go out most nights, with several decent bars serving cheap drink. Rachel’s rar has a couple of excellent free to enter quiz nights and all of them have SKY Sports, Karaoke and various vocal acts. Ate at three local restaurants – both the Pizza Jardin and De Sergio Italian restaurants were very good and the China Gardens set meal for two was superb. All at very reasonable prices. (approx 12 Euro’s per head for Italian and 15 Euro’s per head for Chinese including drinks) The majority of the guests were British with a smattering of Germans, French and Spanish. Make sure your visit the very impressive Aqualand Water Park which is nearby it has excellent water slides, fun pools etc for all the family and the Munomar animal park next door has superb Dolphin and Sea Lions. A combined adult ticket for the two is 32 Euros (22 Euros for kids I think). Would I go back to this hotel again, yes probably, but only if I could get a good deal as I am not sure I could spend all 7 nights eating the dinner and watching the entertainment.
Pleasant Two Weeks
Our family stayed at the Mediterraneo for two weeks May -June 2007. We were impressed with the Hotel the moment that we arrived and felt proud to be staying there. My husband and I, as well as our children (aged between 5 and 11) had a very pleasant and enjoyable time. The staff - reception, restaurant and cleaners were all very friendly and genuine. The children’s' entertainers made the children feel relaxed and special. The food was fantastic - throughout the day - and there was plenty of it to choose from! All of the Hotel - inside and out - was kept clean, tidy and hygienic all day. The indoor and outdoor pools and the Sauna were all well kept. The children loved the pools. There was a problem with litter from fellow residents, but the staff was quick and patient to clean it up. We had no problem with noise other than from fellow residents in the pool area or causing a disturbance in the corridors late at night. Our rooms were cleaned and serviced, including a bed linen change, every day. Entertainment was not always to our liking and we often took the opportunity to visit other parts of the town. We felt that the Hotel was very well placed for a walk into town and there were bus stops outside of the Hotel. Overall we felt safe and secure in the Hotel. However, we had one valuable piece of clothing taken from our room, it can not be replaced: this was the only sour note for us. Yes, we would recommend the Hotel and we may use it again when we go back to Benidorm.
fab hotel loved it to bits
just got back today from staying at mediterraneo and i had a brilliant time i stayed there 2 weeks and had no problem what so ever!! the pool area was nice the outdoor pool was a bit cold even thou sun was blazing, its better in the indoor pool even thou you have to wear swimming caps! the staff are wicked you could'nt feel more at home they are really child friendly! food was good had you carnt go hungry coz there is always food on even between meals. i would defo go back!!! The entertaiment staff are probably the best always friendly and they do mini disco for kids then they do a game of bingo before the show starts which is either a magic show or dancers and some times they do quiz nights, i stayed in hotel most nights and i didnt get board! the only thing i would say is they have a fuction room for spanish i.e weddings, birthdays etc and it can get crowded in bar when they come into the bar area but thats about it. the hotel is always spot less and i had a really fab time and im sure you will too!!
