Sep 2006, Mr C J Turner

As a family of 3 we went to this hotel along with my wife’s sister’s family of 4. The Hotel on arrival was very accommodating; the cleanliness was the first thing that stood out for all of us.
The food was really fantastic throughout, the pool was clean and well looked after, the amenities where perfect and the staff where fantastic. In all this has been one of our best holidays to date, the first choice kids club and staff really made our daughters holiday.
I would recommend this hotel/holiday to anyone, and would definitely rebook another holiday here (even though I have always said I would only visit a place once for a holiday).
All in all a fantastic holiday - with no complaints what so ever!
Thank you First Choice *****

Me and my family. Wife & 2 children...

Sep 2006, Mr J Brock

Me and my family. Wife & 2 children age 3, 7, had the best holiday experience. The hotel is as good and as clean as a five star would be. The room all have air con and are very spacious, the food is excellent.
I'm a chef and a very fussy eater, I weren’t to shore want to expect, as this was our first family holiday away. But we were all blown away by the choice and the freshness of the food.
The pool is very big, a bit chilly, but that’s to be expected. The beach is a bit off a walk, but that’s fine, after all you’re on holiday what’s the rush? The experience was so good. We have already booked to go back with friends next year.

We are a family of 5 with three...

Aug 2006, Miss E Montague

We are a family of 5 with three children age 12/9/1 years old. We thought hotel was located in an ideal part of Benidorm. We could walk to town or beach within 20/30 mins. Or take a bus which stopped directly outside hotel for 1 euro or taxi for 5 euros. The low rise building was fantastic and ideal for parents with buggies as you could get a lift no problem not like some hotels where I’ve heard bad reports of 20 mins waiting to go to restaurant for dinner in evening.
Food was very good and varied but on second week mid way it did get a little repetitive. Waitress service was excellent although the staff should have more on as they were rushed off their feet at times. Pool rules and cleanliness were first class although you could not get a bed until 9am when tape was removed, loungers in some areas were to compact and tight together therefore everyone wanted beds at bar area and a race was on. Entertainment was good for kids and they could run about and we could keep a close eye on them.
Rooms spacious for a family of five as we had a cot too. Air conditioning was great! Pool guard was far too strict at times! Inside pool and sauna and Jacuzzi was fab. It was escapism and fantastic. The Italian waiter in restaurant was a great worker and always on hand!! The hotel resident animation team were very hard workers and did their best although could not understand English too well when trying to have a conversation.
First choice team were only there until after mini-disco and the other animation team would be there all evening. My two older kids went to theme park with first choice reps from 9.30am until 7.30pm and loved it that much they went again second week, which gave us a chance to chill. For only 15 euros for 9 year old and 23 euros for 12 year old, well worth it.
The swipe card idea was not very good, if children had a separate queue to stand at in evening it would be better as sometimes had to wait ages to get crisps or lollies etc. The card idea would have been better with a band as you were frightened of losing it and could not swim in pool with it around your neck, also had to have all cards to get 4 drinks etc, for all family, 11pm should be extended as the bar was mobbed at 10.30 and you could not get 2 drinks. All in all we loved it and would return as it was relaxed and full of families with babies as young as 12 weeks it was really good!
Snacks we did not benefit too much from as you had go inside restaurant to get them and children had too get dried off etc, if they had a snack bar outside too it would have been better.

Found the hotel to be very clean,...

Jul 2006, Mr B Davies

Found the hotel to be very clean, very friendly. Everyone was most polite and helpfull , could not do enough for the family especially the children. The food was good and there was enough of it to stop us from getting snacks which were always available when the restaurant was shut.
The pool was really clean and a pleasure to get in to cool off , my grand-daughter spent nearly most of the day playing with the other children she met there. The lifeguard although strict was fair in as much as everyone was treated the same and the lack of inflatables was for the younger children with water wings a godsend as they had the room to play together.
Rooms were large and very clean and cool at night thanks to the air conditioning.
Apart from the shows everything was great the mini disco and kids club were fantastic, and a great play area for the kids. We would return? Most certainly.

We found the hotel to be very...

Jul 2006, Mrs M Baxter

We found the hotel to be very welcoming. The hotel was cleaned to highest standard. The food was very good and the staff very friendly. Although we booked this hotel with First Choice as a family first hotel we found it to be a little to strict in dress code, the kids were not allowed to enter the hotel in their swim wear.
The pool rules were very strict. The kids could not play with inflatables, balls, in fact anything at all. The lifeguard was very strict and blew his whistle at the slightest thing including if one of the kids made a splash that he thought was too big! No snacks could be taken out of the hotel and we found that although we were all inclusive we didn’t get the benefit of snacks etc. If the kids were outside they had to get dressed and sit inside if they wanted a quick snack and that put them off.
On the subject of all inclusive the bar staff are very strict at the amount of drinks one person can order at a time even if they include kids drinks. You are given a swipe card on arrival with your photo attached and you must carry this at all times to enable them to swipe it every time you go to the bar! I felt that when I paid all inclusive I should have been able to go to the bar and get myself, my husband and my children a drink without having to be questioned about the number of cards I had.
Overall I enjoyed my holiday and the hotel was one of the cleanest and most friendly hotels I have ever been to. If they made the pool more child friendly, relaxed the swipe card carry on and allowed the children to have snacks outside I would all most certainly return.

Absolutely fantastic, 7 ladies went...

May 2006, Ms L Lyth

Absolutely fantastic, 7 ladies went to celebrate a 50 birthday and this hotel took great care of us.
The night of the 50th the restaurant had set up a table with champagne and decorations it was a lovely surprise, my sister said she will never forget this birthday and this was only part of our stay in the Mediterraneo.
The staff were very friendly, great entertainment, bingo every night. Our only problem was the all inclusive finished at 11:00 p.m. But that was solved by jumping in a cab to go down town at a cost of 10 euros (between 4 of us) and the same back.
Bus route was right outside the door of the hotel, we walked to the beach and to town which took about 10minutes if you didn't stop in all the little stores on the way, we then took the bus back which was only 2 euros each no matter how far away you were!!!
The food in the hotel was fantastic, something for everyone.
The rooms were very clean and spacious. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I visited this hotel the first year...
6 / 10
Apr 2006, Liarnna

I visited this hotel the first year it was built.
Though cosmetically nice the hotel lacked an atmosphere
The evening entertainment was awful and not many activities for children during the day.
The food was fairly pleasant, though did find a really nice Chinese Restaurant a few yards down the road and at 3.50Euros a head it was a bargain too ;o)
I would possibly go back to the Mediterraneo Hotel, mainly because it was a low rise pleasant looking base to return to in the evening instead of some of the huge ugly hotels that Benidorm seems to be over crowded with.

Mar 2006, Mr M Axon

We stayed here for one week in September 05, and all the staff were very friendly and polite.
The rooms are top quality very clean and modern, we had interconnecting rooms with our son and granddaughter and could not find any faults what so ever.
The food was excellent and varied every day, the waitress’s were always smiling and the receptionist girl there is worth staying there for! She is absolutely beautiful a smile to make anybodies holiday great, would recommend this hotel to anyone or everyone.

We arrived at this hotel quite late...

Jan 2006, Mrs S Lee

We arrived at this hotel quite late in the evening so was very hungry food was still available for us which was great. The rooms were lovely we had interconnecting rooms as we had a group of six of which 4 were children.
The hotel itself was very friendly the staff and reps were excellent. I had paid extra for my 1 year old to have a children’s sitting service which was excellent. A well deserved break for me for a couple of hours the beach was a bit of a distance and in the heat can become tiring although there is a bus service outside which will take you down to all amenities. All my children from 4 age groups loved the pool and entertainment.
The food was absolutely fantastic there was such a variety I was spoilt for choice great. We went to a recommended place called mundomar and it was out of this world a zoo and water park the highlight of our holiday well recommended, and it was only 5 minute walk from this hotel.
All in all a great time had by all my family will definitely be booking again.

Apr 2005, benidorm90

I stayed here with my husband and 3 year old and the hotel was very clean and modern and low rise which is unusual for Benidorm but we found it quite a distance from the resort centre as we had a buggy to push and I think this made it seem longer. The pool was very nice but the children’s pool was very close to the main pool which didn’t seem very safe.
The food was OK nothing special and a little bit repetitive during the week we were there. There was a mini disco on for kids between 8.30 and 9 but not much decent entertainment after that.
I would not stay here again due to the location and the food.

We stayed at the Hotel Mediterraneo...
9 / 10
Mar 2005, Mrs D Churm

We stayed at the Hotel Mediterraneo for a week over Easter and we were very impressed. Located away from the centre of Benidorm (a plus point in our view) there were numerous shops and restaurants close by. The beach was a 20-30 mins walk away depending on the pace of our 6 year old. The hotel itself was very clean and tidy.
The cleaner came in every day and always left the room spotless and towels were changed daily.
There were also little extras like soap and shower gel, which was a nice touch. We stayed all-inclusive and never went hungry! The buffet style restaurant had a good choice and there was always salad, chips, rice and pasta on the menu (lunch and evening) as well as another type of potato. The meat dishes were varied - beef, chicken pork as well as different fish dishes. Breakfast always had a good choice too. The hotel entertainment was ok. Although the 'first choice' kids club wasn't up and running at this time of the year, the hotel team did their best to entertain the kids in an evening with a mini disco and a kid’s game. The resident band were just ok but there was also a different act on every night as well as bingo!
On the down side, the pool was 1.5 metres deep all the way around so not very good for little ones who aren’t that confident. Also, there was a rule that no inflatables were allowed in the pool, which was silly considering the depth. The lifeguard spent most of his day ensuring this rule was obeyed!! There was a v small kids pool but it was only ok for toddlers and v close to the main pool. The indoor pool was good but not very big - especially on a cloudy afternoon when no one wanted to be outside!
I have to echo previous comments regarding the drinks - awful at times!! On the alcohol front, most of the local spirits were nothing like what we are used to especially the gin, vodka and brandy, but the martini, schnapps and whisky weren’t too bad. The white wine was foul but we found the red to be quite nice! Everyone including guests and staff (except the life guard) were very friendly and we really enjoyed ourselves.
We would recommend this hotel in comparison to other hotels we’ve stayed at in Spain/The Balearics whilst considering the price we paid.
