I have recently come back from a 2 week stay here with my husband and two children; it was a thoroughly great holiday!
The accommodation was good because we weren't in the lively town, but we were just minutes away from the shops and about a 15 minute walk away from the beach. If you do choose to go to the beach I recommend you walk or get a taxi down to the old town beach because its much nicer, not full of rocks!
In the hotel there were activities throughout the day to keep the children occupied if they wanted to join in, also there was a kid's club for children in the days which was really good. The children could also play on the air hockey table or the pool tables and ping-pong tables, and there was even computers with internet access.
The food was really nice especially as some nights it was based on a theme of e.g. Mexican food. Even if you didn’t want to try new foods you could easily enough have some chips (if you’re a fussy eater or if you fancy something more from home).
The restaurant was open from 8 am in the morning till midnight which was great because you tend to get a bit peckish in the day. Also throughout the day by the pool as we were all inclusive we could just go and get drinks whenever we needed them.
The staff were really helpful and kind and also had laughs which was fun! They spoke good English and our room was cleaned every day and the towels were also clean every day.
The entertainment was also good for children because they had the mini-disco till 9 which was fun for the children to learn all the moves and Spanish songs. Then at 9:30 pm they would have the usually bingo game which was good if you got lucky enough to win!
Then after the bingo they would have a different show each night which were not always the best, sometimes the entertainers would play fun games with the people who were staying at the hotel, they were always a good laugh. After the shows they would play music till midnight.
If you wanted a change from staying at the hotel in the days and you wanted to take a bus to the Old Town the bus fair for each person was only 1 euro! You can also walk or bus up to the local water park Aqualandia or Mundomar which has dolphin shows, sea lion shows and other water creatures. (Only 10 minute walk)

We have just come back from a great relaxing week at the Mediterraneo in Benidorm (28/7/7 - 4/8/7). On our arrival we were greeted by very friendly and helpful reception staff who spoke good English. They were helpful throughout our stay and we didn’t hear of anyone else having any problems either.
The hotel was very clean and smart in appearance at all times (cleaners working till midnight). We booked all inclusive and weren't disappointed with the food even though Mel is a fussy eater.
The restaurant was open for food between 08:00 - Midnight - only closing for half an hour before and after the main meals. There was the odd person grumbling about the food but you can’t please everyone and those that were moaning gave the impression that moaning was their favourite pastime.
The other thing to bear in mind with the food is that there are a wide variety of different nationalities that stay at the hotel and therefore the menus are not solely for the needs of the Brits. We managed to find something every meal time that was very tasty, we have the spare tyres to prove it!!!
The entertainment throughout the day for kids was great and they have a good team encouraging everyone to participate. The same team continued on into the night doing the usual dances that the kids love to do on holidays, followed by Bingo and there would also be one or two other guest acts that would make an appearance later in the night.
The entertainment would finish around midnight as did the all-inclusive entitlement. The entertainment was mainly aimed at the younger audience but this hotel does seem to be more suited for families with young children (Below 13).
We had our 15 year old boy with us and he struggled to enjoy himself for the first two days (difficult age!!!) but to be fair there weren't any kids his age during that time and when he met up with a group his age we rarely saw him the rest of the stay. There are pool tables, bar football, table tennis, internet access and a dartboard to keep teenagers occupied but as always they need other Kevin’s and Perry’s to play with too before they are truly happy.
The location of the hotel was great for us as it was outside the busy, noisy hustle and bustle of Benidorm but only a 20 minute slow walk to the Levante Beach. It has the added bonus of only being a 10 minute walk away from the local water park which is well worth a visit if that’s your sort of thing.
There is a security guard patrolling the grounds in the night for that extra feeling of security and a lifeguard for the pool during the day. However this means several rules - no ball games in the pool, no diving, no large inflatables and no lilos, all of which are strictly enforced.
That was the only complaint about this place really and that was a big thing for us because we love messing about in the pool but we still managed to have a great time.
We read a few reviews of this place before we booked and I would agree that the local lager didn’t have much of an effect on me but looking back at our holiday video, the local spirits more than made up for it!!!
There was also a bit of grumbling about this hotel being graded as a 4star but we would agree with its rating because we had a 4 star holiday and met 5 star people.

Just got back from the hotel Mediterraneo. We could not fault this hotel.
Rooms were very good size and were kept spotless. The pools were warm and the food was excellent.
The entertainment was not very good but was normal for all inclusive hotels.
I would recommend this hotel and we will be returning to this hotel.

I am currently staying at this hotel on a 10 day break with my husband and 1 year old daughter. Before we left for this holiday we read a number of mixed reviews on this hotel, some good some bad.
We have been here 8 days and have yet been able to agree on any of the bad reviews.
The hotel is very clean, room cleaned every day and rooms spacious. The food is good and varied, also catering for myself as I am vegetarian.
The staff are very friendly and treated us all very well.
We have found the entertainment has been good and all the kids seem to enjoy learning the dance routines that the reps teach them.
Some people may have moaned about the queues to the bar, but we have found you don’t have to wait that long.
Overall, we have had no complaints about this hotel and we would recommend coming here whatever your age.

We have just arrived home after a week to the Mediterraneo hotel Benidorm.
We were a family of seven, 5 Adults and 2 Children. The hotel was absolutely outstanding very clean and as for the entertainment and food, they were second to none.
The entertainment team were fantastic with the children and what a fabulous children’s club they had at the hotel.
The food was outstanding 5* Variety was brilliant including a children’s section comprising of many different British food well done! As for the adults you were spoilt for choice.
I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely go back. Thanks for a great holiday.

The first thing we noticed when we got there was how nice the hotel looked and how clean it was. The hotel is only on three floors and not one of Benidorm large multi storey hotels.
There were people cleaning around the hotel from first thing in the morning till last thing at night, the place was virtually spotless most of the time.
We found the service at the reception very good once we got there and got to our room very easily. When you go to the bar for drinks you are only allowed to take two cards at a time, but this helps move the queues quicker and became easy to cope with.
The lager did not seem to very strong this was the same for the spirits. It seemed like we could drink for a few hours and have no effects of the alcohol.
The food was extremely good and there was a large selection and food available for most of the day. The staff around all of the hotel were good at doing their job and I never felt as if I was getting in their way. They never spoke much English but were always smiling when serving us.
They tried really hard to get people together all day with various activities like pool competitions, dancing lessons water polo and many more activities. There is a child’s play are around the back of the hotel which if we had not walked to the Mundo mar we would have not seen this, the kids would have loved this.
The entertainment was not the greatest but it encourage us to go out to other bars and see what else Benidorm had to offer. The hotel is a good 15 to 20 minute walk from the beach and to Mundo mar and Aqualandia, I would advise buying ticks at the reception in the hotel as you get 3.5 Euros per head discount. There are many bars and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel.
The one main problem I had at the hotel was they had signs around the pool saying that you could not reserve your sun beds by the pool. Unfortunately these were ignored every day by the large amount of English folk there, and there was no one from the hotel enforcing this.
A lot of people put towels down before breakfast and never got back to the pool all day except when picking their towels up after their dinner at night. If you thing I am taking about a couple of seats I am not there were a few days where I counter over 60 front pool side beds that had towels over them and not being used.
It costs around 6 Euros for a taxi to take you to the main nightlife areas of Benidorm.

We just arrived back from a holiday in Benidorm and we stayed at the Mediterraneo.
We got there on the 28/4/2007 and arrived home on the 5/5/2007.
This was supposed to be an all inclusive holiday for me, and my wife and two children.
If you wanted bottled water you had to buy it. No children’s entertainment, no kids club.
We had to take the kids out of the hotel and pay for any decent entertainment. Every night they had a mini disco for fewer than fives for half an hour and the group. Sang the same songs every night, there was nothing for the children to do through the day.
The swimming pool rules were no balls, no inflatable’s no fun, if you jumped in the Life guard would blow his whistle...there was only one bar open and if you wanted a drink for all your family you had to go twice to the bar because they would only take two cards at a time.
The staff would lean over you when you were eating your food. The staff were arrogant if you were English but if your nationality was german, Spanish, French or Swedish, they would do anything for you. If you were English it would take a few attempts to get anything done, this hotel does not cater for children at all.
The walls in the room were paper thin, so that when the couple next door got an urge, my eleven year old son and twelve year daughter heard it all night.
I paid one thousand one hundred pounds for the holiday. It cost me another three hundred and fifty to entertain the kids, and one hundred and fifty for food outside the hotel because half the time in the restaurant the food was raw or not cooked properly.
The hotel was clean but it should be for 18-30s. We did complain to the rep which we saw for only an hour and half the whole week, but nothing was done.
On the Saturday we arrived there was a wedding reception for some Spanish people. No one could get a drink at the bar, because all the staff were doing the reception and they would not answer you when you asked for a drink.
It is not an all inclusive hotel when you have to pay for kid’s entertainment. Or when you have to pay for cooked food outside the hotel and water.
I will be booking another holiday in the next four weeks at the Pegasus Palace in Turkey for next year, where I know my kids are catered for and the staff are friendly.
I can only afford one holiday a year and this one was ruined for me and my family.
Don’t take your kids there.

Have been to this hotel twice - Aug 2004 and Mar/Apr 2005.
Couldn't fault the hotel in any way other that the all-inclusive ending at 11.00 - have been all-inclusive many times and most end at 12.00.
Saying that, it's no hardship to find somewhere else nearby to go after 11.00.
The whereabouts are made clear in the brochure - for us the location was an added bonus - having stayed in the centre of Benidorm a couple of times, it was great to be on the "outskirts" but within walking distance of all the entertainment on offer.
The cleanliness, rooms, staff and food were all brilliant - so good in fact we are returning for the 3rd time in April this year - can't wait.

This was my first holiday abroad, after hearing mixed views I was uncertain what to expect. We got of the bus and the hotel was so nice.
It couldn't have been any better, the staff on reception were so helpful and friendly. The bar staff were also good.
My partner has been abroad many times to different hotels and he agreed that this was one of the best. The selection of food was brilliant and you never go hungry!
The rooms were very clean and very nice. We had a room that faced the mountains and it was lovely.
The facilities at the hotel we also rather good, an indoor swimming pool that was small but very nice. There was a huge outdoor pool, but in March its a little too cold to be swimming.
The entertainment provided was good and they always had somebody doing some sort of act.
Overall our stay was the best and we are planning to go in January for our second time.

We went to this hotel with First Choice from 22nd July 2006 - 29th. We thought it was a very good hotel, with a lot of facilities to cater for all people.
Rooms were clean, comfortable and big enough. The swimming pool was nice. Food was very good, with a big selection. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only fault with the hotel was the lack of sun loungers, was always a huge rush in the morning to get one.
Overall we had a very good holiday and would definitely go back there.

Good hotel, Food good, clean rooms, front desk staff excellent. We had a serious problem and their help was invaluable, they were so kind.
Bar staff fun and friendly. We have stayed in Benidorm fourteen times in good hotels and the Mediterraneo is up there with the best of them. We will be back. It is a short walk into town and the beach.
Benidorm Palace across the road, fun parks nearby, local bars good for over fifties in November. Try rock and roll bar best Elvis in Benidorm- great pictures on the walls, good prices.

Fantastic
Booked with 2 other families all with children ages from 6 -14 years.
Hotel rooms excellent, spacious and clean. All our rooms were next to each other which is what we asked for but first holiday actually happened without a fuss.
Food was good, plenty of variety. Must have been good because all of us have come back at least half a stone heavier.
Drinks were fine - all our husbands drank the lager and were definitely worse for wear by midnight (I would recommend the cocktails!)
Pool was excellent, kids were a bit worried before we went as no inflatable are allowed but they all still had fun and it made it better for adults to swim.
All the kids loved the entertainment - something for everyone.
All staff were very friendly and helpful.
I think we picked one of the best hotels in Benidorm judging by the look of others on beach front as it was only a couple of floors high and set away from hustle and bustle but near enough to walk to everything.
Would go back tomorrow!
