Feel so humiliated

Dear All
for the view, swimming pool was amazimg actually when i saw the pictures on net i decided to book but pictures are not the same like reality so here is the reality:
i am writing this cause it is your right to know Egypt is much better than that i had been all around but i never seen such a baaaad hotel and staff and Food
Well lets start with the first Day where we informed the hotel that we will check in after dinner time so make a set menue to be delivered in our rooms guess what was served AS A DINNER 2 cheese sandwiches with a cake with the worest bad quality ever however dinner dont include this sh... and it was supposed to be same items from the open dinner
Next day i had to wake up since 7am cause the cleaning people was just bangind all doors and loud voices and hell of noises i could not believe how rude they were
we went to the breakfast which is something perfect it is a hell of 3 things to choose from Eggs bad cheese and egyptian beans so where is the rest !!!!!!! however even this was so baaaaaaad in taste my stomach was really hurting!!!!!
Well go to the dinner which is one kind of pasta and rice and bief and rotten fish oh to be honest there were good mashed potato and the beef was mmm less than average but OK
well the beach was not bad too and drinks was fair they just need to clean the glass and dishes!!! ohh and never try to have cubed ice it smelled like sh....
The room standard i would rate for 2 star hotel plus no maintenance so you can imagin how bad is the holes in the walls specially the bathroom
Finally we go for the management i believe they manage this hotel with a bunch of crappp and rude this is the most suitable word as no privacy people are following you and staring where ever you go and i felt even they were listning to us from behind the door which made me feelt hurrassed soooooooo much
I talked to management and i was about to call police but then they kept saying sorry and i was staying for 3 days so i just left the hotel and went to another place
After all what i said if you want to try just take this advice Never leave expensive things in your room and ask for cleaning when you are not there
Oh forgot to mention that the recieptionest keept calling on my room in funny egyptian words then when i phoned back he said sorry i thought you need something
Well i am working in Egypt since a year now and i have been to amazing places but not this Safir was the worest place ever to be in within any country everrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

i went on a solo holiday and stayed...

Jul 2008, Mrs M Neilson

i went on a solo holiday and stayed at the Savior hotel hotel itself was very clean and tidy and most of the staff were very nice except the staff in the restaurant who could be a bit rude at times food was the same each night which consisted of beef or fish that became boring although at the pool at lunch time their was a choice of kebab, toasted sandwiches, and pizzas. I did find out that a telephone call from my daughter that was very urgent did not get passed to me until three days later even though i had visited the reception desk it was not passed onto me and only found out when a note was put under my door from the rep.also u could not use the phones to call home from Ur room as indicated in the broucher. I also found that any shops were quite a long walk away not good in that heat but u could get a taxi(talking of getting a taxi be careful) the one we hired to take us ti El Gouna started to fall asleep as he was driving and it wasn't much better on the way back!!!! But saying that if it is peace and quite u r looking for this is the Hotel for u

My first trip to Hurgarda was 15...

My first trip to Hurgarda was 15 years ago, then, no more than an unspoilt fishing village with a couple of very basic hotels and frequented by the divers (myself included). As far as i remember Emperor Diving the only PADI school then. Now, all these years later I return to find a totally different city.. some good some not so good.......... the Safir being very good.
The hotel is quite basic but is offset by being in a quite area. It's totally accessable to the old town and the new town (Sekalla); pay no more than 10EP (£1) taxi either way and always agree on a price BEFORE you happily jump in the taxi.
We were lucky enough to be placed in a 1st floor room over the beach. The view's across the sea towards Giftun Island were totally jaw dropping especially the Sunrises/sets...
Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, nothing was to much trouble. (Word of warning.. beware for the food police at the front door.. no food to brought into or out of the hotel!)
Food was varied, very well prepared and presented. Catering staff were seen to follow good food handling practice. (disposable gloves were used by all staff when handling food). We used alcohol hand gel frequently, especially after handing money.. this is know to carry E coli as well as a host of other stomach turning bugs.
Would we return to the Safir.. definitely!

Jan 2008, Mrs A Richardson

I've just returned from eygyt were we stayed half board at the safir. The staff were amazing so helpfull, always there to help you, the food was lovely, and the rooms got cleaned every day, for being a 2 star hotel i was very impress with the service. We went on a boat trip and safri through our hotel and got great service again, it just shows you we don't need reps at hotels when the hotel staff spoke perfect english. We are going back next year. So if your after value for money, quiet hotel and 10 mins walk to the town centre then you will love the safir.

I myself would give the hotel 10/10...
7 / 10
Jul 2007,   S Cooper

I myself would give the hotel 10/10 but with regards to the food 1/10 - we found it very hard to find food to eat every night - and if it wasn’t for the pasta I think the kids would have starved!
The staff were excellent when it came to the children and with a niece with disabilities(6) they did everything they could including cooking chips twice a day for her to make sure she had something.
Our key to our room was blocked after the first week -and again on the last day at 9am even though we paid extra for a late check out. We found all staff to be very friendly. When just relaxing one day by the pool, within 1 hour we had 5 people try to sell you trips/beauty treatments etc.
My advice to you is make sure you take plenty of sun cream/wet wipes, nappies etc as the shop is very expensive.
With regards to the airport - the staff are not very friendly as when my niece was crying they pointed to a man with a gun.
Our flight over was also a problem as we paid extra for nut free meals which we didn’t have - and we were then told they have never done them! Other passengers on the plane should also be ashamed of themselves as they starred and tutted about my niece crying even though you can see she has disabilities, you expect that abroad but with people from the UK, you would think they knew better.

Whilst the food, pool, room, weather...
7 / 10
Jun 2007, yvonne martin

Whilst the food, pool, room, weather was unfaultable I wish to add that we had serious problems with unwanted and unprovoked attention by certain members of staff in this hotel. Were not alone and even certain members of their own staff commented on how unprofessionally they behaved if women were without their partners.
My friend and I booked the holiday to do nothing but relax and sunbath in the sun. We don’t drink excessively and do like to meet and chat with other holiday makers.
Our partners stayed at home with our teenage children to give us a short break away from our stressful jobs and lives.
Unfortunate by the end of this break we were reduced to tears and spent evenings in the room to keep away from certain members of staff that wouldn’t accept the word 'no'. This didn’t even deter one member of staff who even called me in my room!
Another member of staff even followed me to Old Sharm as he knew I was going alone to look around the shops as my friend was ill with a stomach bug.
I don't wish to deter people from going to Sharm/Egypt but I do feel that people should be made to feel aware that there are members of staff in this hotel that are abusing their roles.
We brought this to the attention of the management and have not been contacted since we got back to the UK. Also the rep manager also wouldn’t do anything.
I'm not saying don’t go, I'm just saying please be careful

The Hotel, on first arriving, looks...
2 / 10
Aug 2004, Tell-it-as-it-is

The Hotel, on first arriving, looks great. There are two pools with nice sun beds (free). Its got potential but it needs a big shake up.
The Customer Liaison lady met us in Reception and abruptly informed us what is NOT in the all inclusive. Not in the All Inclusive are fresh juices, drinks in the disco, a la carte restaurants not included, bottled drinks, bottled water and ice cream. Basically you pay for All Inclusive but do not get it.
The main buffet restaurant is All Inclusive, but the selection is very poor. Breakfast is a nightmare unless you like to eat cakes. The hygiene is not good, drinks are served in dirty glasses and we had to send them back and ask for clean ones. The food is left uncovered and flies are landing on it. There are birds flying about in the restaurant landing near the food and flying over it (most likely pooping on it as well).
The service is terrible. The waiters do not seem to have had any training. They take ages to serve you, in fact one night our drinks arrived when we had finished our desert. However, they seem adamant to remove your plates before you are finished (maybe it was an omen).
The rooms, we had electrical faults in our room and the TV was not watch able as the reception was so bad. We reported all the faults but only one electrical socket was fixed. The air conditioning in the room just about worked and it was noisy. We reported this but nothing was done. The normal other things like the bed was hard and pillows hard - but that’s usual when you go abroad. The water ran yellow in the bathroom, as if it was not clean?
We were both ill, once we started eating in the restaurant. Other people in the hotel were ill also. I overheard one couple say that they visited the local doctor and he said "its just a tummy upset". We arrived home early hours of Friday morning (its Saturday now) and we still have stomach problems. We have visited our doctor in England for treatment.
We went into town to eat instead of the hotel but the taxi drivers try to charge you over the top. It should be 10 Egyptian Pounds but they were asking for 40! We had to argue with them each time and agree the price prior. It gets tiring after a while.
Thomas Cook has new rules, in that if you do not have in flight meals your seats are pre-allocated. May sound ok but we were allocated isle seats at the rear of the plan and when we asked for different seats they would not agree unless we paid £15 each to be moved to exit seats. No other option was available i.e. to be moved to window seats but not pay extra for exit.
Our flight was not until 19.25 hrs and we left reception at 16.35 hrs. We were told to check out of our room at 12.00 noon. Our key for the door was terminated at 09.00 hrs. So we could not leave our room as we would not be able to get back in.
We have had a terrible holiday. My advice, do not go there unless you book at one of the better hotels that lie along the beach front (Hilton?).
