We have stayed at the Alisios several times and have nothing but praise for it.
Its position is perfect - built on a cliff overlooking the sea in a quiet but central area of Albufeira.
It's well worth paying extra for the sea-view rooms as the land-view rooms overlook the road. The Alisios does not "do" package tours but it is easy enough to book by phone or internet or through the Portuguese travel agency Portimar. There is an enormous sun-deck with plenty of loungers and stairs down to the beach below.
The hotel is beautifully clean and well furnished. Unlike most Mediterranean hotels, everything works! Anything extra you may need, such as more pillows, will be there within moments of your request.
The breakfasts were excellent. As well a wide variety of juices, breads, cheese, cold meats and so on, scrambled eggs, bacon etc will be cooked to order on request.
All in all, I cannot fault the Alisios. The staff, without exception, were all excellent and took a pride in their work.
If you are looking for a quiet, well-run hotel - look no further! If your idea of a good holiday is a week at Butlins with wall-to-wall entertainment then the Alisios is not for you!
