Not sure what the 1/10 guy below was talking about but we just came back from here and found it absolutely lovely. We stayed for a week and never found any of the staff or owners wanted us to "stay in". In fact they recommended a few places themselves. What the other guy... more

It would seem that the owner of this Apartment block/Hotel,wants his"guests" to remain in his hotel all the time, as he threw out our resort rep the other day because he told us about one or two restaurants in the town...If we had been offered 2All Inclusive" this would... more

3rd time in 4 years
Just got back after 2 weeks at this Hotel, this was our 3rd visit in 4 years. What more can I say? This hotel has all you could ask for from a self-catering property. The owners Themi and Rita and the staff are so friendly will do anything for you, all you have to do is ask. BBQ night is a must, all you can eat and a glass of wine for 10 euros. Rita's Sunday roast with the best Yorkshire’s outside England. It is also one of not many Hotels in resort with sky sports. Rooms are of a good size, microwave, cooking rings, fridge, hairdryer, and kettle. Just 20 metres from the beach, good restaurants on the beach front and in the old town area. The bar serves breakfast and meals all day. Good pool with kids section. We can not believe some of the reviews below are about the same Hotel? We will be going back again soon.
Aellos Apartments
My husband and I got back from these apartments on Sept 20th 2007 and we had a great time. Themi, Rita and all of the staff were welcoming and friendly. The apartments were a stone throw from the beach and although basic, the were very clean and comfortable and the food was excellent. The pool was a little cold (which is the norm these days) but once you in the water you never noticed. The door entry system to your room was electronic which meant the maid knew when you were in or out which meant you were never disturbed. The resort itself was lovely particularly the old square which is home to a lovely pub/restaurant called Pauls Place. Sea was lovely and nice to swim in but the beach was a mixture of sand and shingle and unfortunately some tourists did not bother to clean there mess up before they left. Hanioti is the next resort along he coast and is a leisurely 5 mile walk or a cheap bus ride away, well worth a visit especially at night although it is more touristy than Pefkohori. Above all a fantastic holiday which I would recommend to all. Cath & Terry, Salford Greater Manchester
Smelled of fish
Spent two weeks running away from greek men perving on my 12 year old daughters. Oh dont get the idea that's all i did with my time there. I also spent some time freshening the air of our apartment which bizzarely smellt of fish. The couple that owned the hotel seemed a unfriendly- to put it lightly. Themis seemed incredibly arrogant and respectful to english people (tip: dont run an english tourist hotel) and Rita seemed to enjoy jealous uncalled-for-remarks about my figure/sunburn/hair, and moaning about having to spent her life in a hot country with a decent amount of money (life's too harsh). Basicaly seemed like returning to a prison after spending a day in paradise. They were very judgemental and were quick to vocalise their judgements. definately a good idea of my husband's to leave a huge floater in their staff toilet. hopefully the lovely cleaner didnt have to clean it herself (note the choice of using the staff toilet).
Never again, not even if you paid me.
We decided to go to Greece for a family holiday, somewhere to relax and enjoy time with our 1 year old daughter. I am currently pregnant and so we requested that we were put on the ground floor for ease with the baggage and buggy, for obvious reasons. This didn't happen! We had to carry everything up and down stairs every day. A total nightmare. We chose to be self catering so we could cook meals for our daughter but the cooker, hobs etc did not work. There is no where safe for children to play, the pool area is cramped and our room smelled and was totally child un-friendly. We were charged for the safety deposit box that we didn't even want and to top it off I was accused in front of a bar full of people for stealing towels and breaking into cupboards. When Themis realised he had made a mistake and got the wrong person (he didn't even check what room I was staying in before he verbally abused and accused me) he was sorry, but it was too late. I felt uncomfortable for the entire rest of the stay. This was the worst holiday I have ever been on and feel disappointed. This hotel got the marque of excellence from Thomas Cook, I just don't understand how!
absolutly fantastic!
what can i say about this family run hotel except it is fantasticaly run by the owners Themis & Rita. A real home from home. I stayed here for 2 weeks with my husband and 13year old daughter. we had an apartment with enough space for a party!!! not a place to go if your not the social type, as this is what this place is all about!. bbq, quiz, karoke, disco and bingo to keep you entertained, not to mention the cocktails!!! music by the pool all day, fantastic weather and brilliant bar staff, lisa, niko and veronica all added to the best holiday we have ever had. nothing is to much trouble for the staff, all you have to do is ask. english only here added to the atmosphere. Plenty of restaurants, shops bars etc. make sure you visit captains restaurant on the main road. would definately return at some point in the future. Brilliant!!!!
Short but sweet
We were due to stay at Aeollos for 2 weeks but sadly had a death in the family after a few days of arriving so had to cut our stay short. This, however, did not stop us really enjoying our stay there. The owners, Themis and Rita, and the staff were tremendously helpful and understanding. The apartment was just what was needed and the atmosphere of the whole place very friendly. Lisa in the bar was excellent as was Nicos. All those who were staying there that week said that they will hopefully return later in the year and we also would like to return in the not too distant future. Thanks to all Martin and Sandra
bloody brillant
We stayed at the Aeollos this year it was our 2nd time couldnt fault it it was run very well it was very clean and Themis & Rita made us feel very welcome. We will definatley be going back in a couple of years time. Chris & Jeanette
One of the best family run holets I have been in
When I booked this holiday i wanted a small greek family run apartment/hotel near the sea this is exactly what I got . My first time I met Themis I thought he would help me enjoy my holiday. all the staff were spot on and they went out of their way to help nothing was a problem We went as family there were 7 of us, Me and my family plus my brother and wife plus 2 kids Themis And Rita went out of there way to get a birthday cake and balloons for the three kids this night me and my brother drank him out of John Smiths Themis had to unlock my brothers room door so we could throw him in Themis and Rita put on a BBQ night which we all enjoyed plus the kids enjoyed the disco night Themis was a star when we were evacuated due to the fire he went out of his way to look after most the guests taking us to the lagoon to safety where we met his family we all slept on the beach
NEVER AGAIN
We stayed at the Aeollos Aparthoel for two weeks in augs 2006 clean/bacis very near the beach which is very dirty.not much to do in Pefkohori.the best place to eat is in the old village called Elia taverna very good .The bar staff at the Aeollos are lovely not to shaw about the owens.
Not On Your Nelly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We stayed at the Aeollos Apartments for two weeks, starting on 27th July. We got off to a bad start, as Themis told us off for cutting through the sunbed / pool area with our luggage. As it was our first time of staying at the Apartments, I thought he could've cut us a bit slack??? Our ground-floor studio was OK - a little basic, but clean enough. If you want more space, I suggest you pay the supplement for an apartment as these were huge. Take some earplugs if you aren't the sociable type and prefer to catch up on your sleep as the karaoke / quiz nights get VERY rowdy. Pefkohori itself was made up of approximately 80% restaurants, 15% bars and 5% Giros (kebab) vendors. If you're taking children, apart from a very narrow shingle beach there's very little there for them to do. Also, beware because the sea shelves very quickly into deep water. Remember to take your driving licence because you'll want to hire a car to get out of the resort.
