Certain people on this forum although are entitled to their own opinion need to spend a stormy weekend away in a tent obviously they are snobs. This hotel was absolutely perfect, in a quiet area but not too far from the active harbor. Staff were extremely friendly and show unconditional love for their guests.
YES you do get the odd cockroach now and then because it's the cockroach season, get it into your thick heads that bugs get everywhere and it can't be helped, if you spot a cockroach why not kick it down the stairs for a bit of a laugh, stop being so uptight.
And if your one of those people who like to stare upclose to a bit of mildew in the corner of the sink while brushing your teeth. GET A LIFE, YOUR ON HOLIDAY.
Manos is a very good host and enjoys a good laugh when you come in drunk from a night out but if you prefer to sit in the lounge area he will also have a good talk with you.
This was the best holiday besides orlando I have ever been on and I WOULD COME BACK AGAIN and stay in the same hotel. If the toilets leak or shower so WHAT! It doesnt bother me because 99% of my day I am out and about. Everything in my eyes was very clean and tidy.

Just got back from the Captains Hotel...

Aug 2007, Mr D MacDonald

Just got back from the Captains Hotel Kos Town, my two sons & I had a fantastic holiday. All the staff at the hotel are fantastic they couldn’t do any more for us, the rooms were a bit small for three people but we got by. Our room was cleaned everyday, the hotel was spotless and in an ideal location, I want to go back now.
Kos Town is great, plenty to do, if you want to party all night you can, but you can always stay away from the mad house if you want. Historical sites are fantastic and you can walk for miles along the front, the Greek people are so nice. Get out and about and see the island.
Kos forever! Dave MacD

As me and my pregnant wife set off on...

Jul 2007, Mr J. A.Green

As me and my pregnant wife set off on our holiday we were not met with fabulous service. Easy jet were less than accommodating to our needs and refused my wife alcohol free wine. If the constant turbulence and service with a grunt was not bad enough we then had the trauma of the loss of our entire luggage. It is safe to say the holiday did not start well.
Then came the Captain's Hotel. Our initial inspections of the exterior we not too promising from the construction work to the bar noise we thought the holiday was going to be heading down hill fast.
Then everything changed. As the friendly staff led us to our room we were shocked by the amount of space in the room and how clean everything was. The staff even sorted out our lost baggage for us.
The hotel was the best I have ever stayed in and we have already booked the tickets for next year’s holiday.
I greatly recommend this hotel for any people wishing to stay. My 17 year old daughter even found the place interesting enough to join us again.

Jan 2007, Mrs E Sellers

My partner and I stayed at the Captains Hotel in Kos for two weeks, wish we hadn't booked for two weeks, one would have been quite enough.
Our room was clean, but very small, hardly any storage at all. The bathroom was absolutely awful, with foul smelling water coming through the drain on the floor all the time, leaking toilet.
There was part of the wash basin missing on one side it was very dangerous and sharp, hardly any water coming from the shower, and the smell was horrendous.
The balcony has two small seats and a tiny table, that's it, its full, you have to actually climb over the table to get onto one of the chairs. The view from our balcony was that of a dumping ground, it was horrible.
The staff were lovely people and that was nice, but I think the tour companies should be more honest in their descriptions of these tiny places.
This hotel is quite near to the centre of Kos, but the street it is on is very tatty and to walk along the pavement is like an obstacle course.
We didn't spend any time at the hotel really, we just wanted to get away from it, but we did have a nice holiday in Kos.
I would not recommend taking a child to the Captains Hotel because there is absolutely nothing for them to do.

Excellent friendly staff, was on my own with teenage daughter, felt really safe & secure. Great food/entertainment in Boomerangs/Shenanigans Irish bar across the road. Mike and all the staff made us very welcome.
Will be visiting again, weather second to none!

Sep 2006, Mr B Millar

I have to say this was the worst holiday my fiancée and I have ever been on. After a great flight (only bettered by our Air France flight to NYC) we arrived in the small hours to find our room was the size of a small cupboard, very little storage space, a balcony so small that you had to climb over the table to get to the seat at the other side whilst ducking under a walnut tree!, as for the bed it was a 3/4 sized double with a single sized sheet. Can't fault the staff though as Stefanos, Maria and Manos were great. Had the pleasure of meeting Mr T.Ainsworth and have to say " how can you keep coming back to this place year after year?"

The flight to Kos went off on time...
9 / 10
Jun 2006, Miss Sonia Roy

The flight to Kos went off on time which was a good start to the holiday. The only complaint about the flight was there was supposed to be free in flight entertainment (as stipulated by Airtours), but to view the in flight entertainment you had to pay for a console to enable you to watch it.
Apart from that the captains hotel is very clean and welcoming, the staff who run the hotel can not do enough to make sure your stay with them is enjoyed. Kos itself is a beautiful island and there is an abundance of great tavernas and restaurants to please everyone. We will definitely be going back to Kos in the future.
As it was one of the best holidays we have had thanks to the good friends at the hotel which we met while there.

We stayed at the Captains Hotel for...

Dec 2005, Shellybobs33

We stayed at the Captains Hotel for our honeymoon, after a disastrous flight (they put my new husband and I in separate seats) We arrived at the hotel.
The hotel is small but pleasant, the rooms are typical accommodation of what you would expect for abroad.
Our only complaint was the shower was not working very well. Everything else was brilliant.
As a strict vegetarian I found this hotel breakfast accommodating.
The hotel is a straight walk to the beach and harbour. and we found it simple and easy to find.
Kos itself is a wonderful place to visit, we were very sad to leave and often think back to the wonderful time we had there.
The people of Kos are truly wonderful and polite. We are hoping to get back very soon, after we have visited a few more places.

I have stayed at The Captains Hotel...

May 2005, Mr T Ainsworth

I have stayed at The Captains Hotel many times and I find it to be very clean and friendly. There are 2 maids, Maria and Eleferia, and they are very hard working ladies. The owner Stefanos and his wife Irene really make you feel welcome. Also, I would like to thank Maria the afternoon receptionist who is very helpful.
It is only about a 5 to 8 minute walk from Kos Town Harbour and 5 minutes from the beach.
The rooms are adequate and they have double glazing, air conditioning, safety deposit boxes and a small furnished balcony. There is a shared swimming pool and there is a 24 hour bar. ( Note is NOT a noisy one ). Manos the night man is very good and he speaks excellent English.
