We went for one week and found the food awful. Iam a vegetarian, there was virtualy nothing for me to eat. The stuff was not given any descriptins or clues as to whatit was. Fine for some ,but I like to know what i am eating. So we eat out every night, which we did not expe ct,and this spoilt our holiday. If you like germans this is the place to stay! IF you like good food go somewhere else. Could not fault the weather

We booked direct with the hotel and booked our flights via XL.com. Had a great holiday, Tingaki is a great place and the Ilios Hotel has very clean, nice appartments. We have been to Ilios once before and the Air Conditioning is definately a must have (due to the temperate in Greece and the fact that it deters any bugs).
Pool and rooms are excellent in Ilios. Breakfast is targetted more at the German guests, but it is fine.
Only one thing I would complain about at Ilios was the main bar by reception. This had fairly grumpy staff and was constintly running out of Diet Coke etc, etc. This is in complete contrast to the rest of Ilios, where all staff are friendly.
Please be aware if you have difficulty walking that it is a reasonable walk from the hotel to the main road (where all shops / restaurants are). This road has certainly got busier since we were there six years ago (our previous visit) and can feel a bit dangerous at night.
If your looking for a great restaurant, good food and reasonable then try the New Rodini - run by a lovely family who are very child friendly.
All in all a great holiday and no reason why I wouldn't go back again.

Tingaki fantastic place to visit. Lovely beaches friendly people, lovely restaurants. Ilios starting to look a little tatty around the edges. Our room was rather tatty.
We have been there 5 times but going to a different hotel next year. They really need to smarten the place up a bit. But the staff are friendly.
Don’t go half board the food is terrible. But lovely food sold at the snack bar.

We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Ilios apartments and we have had a great time.
The hotel is well run and kept tidy and clean. The rooms where spacious and the cleaner came in every day. The towels and bedding are changed regular and the bins where emptied daily. We had the aircon for the two weeks which cost around 100 euro's but it was well worth it.
The pool area was great fun they play good music at the bar and we met loads of families and joined in games. The staff at the pool bar are great fun and had every one laughing and it’s great to sit at the swim up bar and get out of the sun for abit.
Tigaki is a lovely resort suitable for families and couples. The Greek people are so friendly and we had some delicious meals and it was very cheap to eat out it usually cost around 40 Euros for 3 of us and the was with starters, mean meal and wine. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.
The beach was around a 20 min walk from the Ilios apartments which was a bit of a bind in the heat but it’s worth the effort. Not very good form snorkelling though we didn’t see any fish at all.
I would recommend this place to families with teenagers and younger ones looking for a taste of Greece staying at a good fun hotel that make you very welcome.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS.
Just come back from the Ilios...

Just come back from the Ilios had a fantastic time. The rooms were spot on, very clean. The maids came in every day apart from Sunday. The pool bar was brill. The atmosphere round it was really good, Iccillis the barman was a little dream he was lovely. So was Babis the other barman in the hotel bar they all made you feel very welcome. The sun shone all the two weeks we was there. Tingaki is a lovely resort, it is a strip with loads of restaurants and a few bars ,Masgots is the best . At the end of the strip there is the beach. I recommend a trip down to Kos town and go on one of the boat trips for a fantastic day out.
I would go back to the Ilios but was my first first time in Greece so I am going to try other islands. I have fallen in love with Greece, the people are lovely and would do anything to make your holiday a good one.

I returned from Ilios 2 weeks ago and I wish I was still there! I went with my 2 sisters and my parents and had the best time ever!
The rooms were lovely nice and tidy, the food was great and the staff were brilliant.
We made many friends at Ilios especially Achileas, Babis, Youlis, Christos and loads more who enjoyed taken all of us out to the clubs in Kos and Tingaki.
Thanks guys you lot made my holiday one to remember.
I am looking to book up for next year but this time I will take my daughter with me as I think she would have loved it.
Anyone who was there at the time I was it would be nice to hear from you... I was the girl that wore the Celtic top.
Bye for now, Lisa.

Just back from Tingaki stayed at Ilios Hotel and apartments, had a wonderful time.
Apartments are basis but very clean, clean towels every day and bed lined changed twice a week.
Hotel staff friendly, there is a maid everyday who cleans and disinfects the apartment even washes the balcony, nothing is too much trouble for anyone there.
The pool is smashing there are two, although the best one is the one with a swim up bar as there are trees which shade you and keep you cool under the parasols.
Didn't eat in restaurant as we went out most nights. The snack bar is very reasonable and the food is nicely cooked, smashing coffees as well.
I can't really say anything bad about it because there was nothing bad. We are booking up again to go back to the Ilios.

We have just returned from our second visit to this resort and although it is looking a little tired around the pool edges, we had a brilliant time!
Babis was still there, he remembered that we had been there before, the owners remembered us too.
The barman for the pool bar is called Accillis, he was renamed by everyone there "Hercules" he was the best barman, we all managed to chuck him in the last day!
Payback time! We will go again sometime.

We stayed at the Ilios for a week and I would have liked it to be 2 weeks really. We got a bargain deal staying half board.
I would go back to the Ilios but would go self catering, the food was ok but I’m just not keen on the buffets and I prefer eating out.
There are apartments with a kitchen area at Ilios or rooms in the main hotel. It is a decent sized complex with 2 pools, each with a pool bar. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The complex overall is starting to look a bit tired but we were there in the very last week of the season and it looked like they were already starting to improve bits ready for next year.
The room was fine, not luxury but by no means horrible. We had a decent amount of storage space for 4 of us and the apartment itself was quite spacious.
We really enjoyed our week and would definitely go back in the future. Our daughter (5) had a brilliant week; it is very good for children.
The complex is a short walk away from all the shops, bars and restaurants. We walked down there every night to try different restaurants and bars.
We went in September and the one thing I will say is at this time of year there were loads of mosquitoes, we all got bitten loads even though we covered ourselves in repellent.
Overall a good holiday especially suitable for families I would say and I’m sure we will go back there sometime! If you have kids and are looking for a decent budget holiday I would recommend it.

Just come back from a wonderful week at the Ilios. The duplex family room was very good and clean, adequate for our family of five, overlooking pool. Full size fridge and adequate crockery etc. Maid service every day with clean towels etc. Pools very clean and lots of sun loungers. Weather very hot and sunny all week. Not a lot to do at night but that suited us as the kids were in bed for 9 after spending all day in the pool!
The only down side was the bathroom which flooded every time we went in shower but every one else said theirs was the same! (We made a dam with towels to stop it going all over the floor).
I can recommend the Grande Salle Greek Kitchen (on the left hand side going into Tingaki) lovely food, lovely friendly helpful staff. Very reasonable prices, they couldn't do enough for us.
Didn't think much to the beach. Lots of seaweed, fag ends and bottle tops in the sand so only went there once.
The resort was quiet with lots of places shutting up as this was their last week but this didn't stop us having a nice relaxing holiday.
Transfer time from airport only 20 minutes. Didn't see much of the travel rep apart from the welcome meeting where she tried to sell us trips and car hire (all of which are available cheaper in Tingaki town).
We would definitely go back and stay here again.
Enjoyed our week at the Ilios...

Enjoyed our week at the Ilios Aparthotel. Went self catering which was pretty much as expected. We planned to eat out every night so the lack of kitchen equipment wasn’t really an issue. We booked a 1 bed apartment which was adequate and had a balcony overlooking the pool.
The shower wasn't much good and we flooded the bathroom every night before we went out! The staff were mostly helpful and friendly, having a 24 hour reception was useful too. The complex itself was good, 2 nice large pools with plenty of sun loungers, a poolside bar and a snack bar/ restaurant. There was a shop too which wasn’t too overpriced as expected.
The sun shone, drank lots, ate lots and generally had a very pleasant time at Ilios and would definitely consider going back in the future. I would like to see more entertainment at night as the children there looked bored of playing pool and watching their parents getting drunk!
Thanks to all at Ilios for a lovely week!

Generally had a good time. The hotel needs to provide entertainment in the evening, anything!!. Most people had their evening meal and went into town to be entertained.
Most people play cards at the Ilios, that's something I'm used to doing when it rains on a holiday in the UK!
They also need a choice of food for younger children, chicken nuggets or just some plain chicken etc.

I was really looking forward to my holiday at the Ilios Apartments after reading good reviews about it, but these are the worst apartments I have ever stayed in. The apartments are very dated and are in need of a major modernisation.
The bathroom was advertised as having a bath all it had was a shower which was the size of a postage stamp, the toilet seat was broken and there was no ventilation in there. The double bed was a pull out camp bed which was really uncomfortable and as for self catering facilities they were an absolute disgrace.
There was no draining board or draining cupboard and you did not get a tea towel to dry the dishes. The fridge was a mini fridge with no ice compartment. There was one saucepan and one frying pan the plates and bowls were not from the same set. The bottle opener was broken. There was not even an egg cup.
Some of the light bulbs weren't working, there was handles missing from the drawers which had screws sticking out where the handles should have been. The couple in the next room to us reported their fridge was broken to both the hotel staff and the holiday rep, neither did a thing to sort it and it remained broken, they had to use their air conditioning to keep their food cool.
The staff at the complex were not very helpful the only one who ever smiled and seemed friendly was a young barman.
The complex was quite a nice complex the pools were nice, the snack bar was alright but you waited at least 30-40 minutes for your order.
Tingaki is a great resort the restaurants and bars are lovely and the people are really friendly.
I would return to Tingaki but I would never return to the Ilios apartments again and I would certainly never recommend these apartments to anybody. I think Direct Holidays need to go back and take a serious look around this complex mainly the apartments as I am astounded they are rated as 3* a 1* rating would be more appropriate.

We went to Ilios Hotel in June 2005 and we have returned this year in May 2006. Most of the staff from last year have left (Babis is the only one there, it is still Babis do this Babis do that). Little disappointed that there wasn't as much entertainment as last year (the staff and the reps from 2005 made this).
The Kids Club wasn't opened when we went this year, due to nobody being able to run it. We went half board this time food was okay but not a lot of choice for our 6 year old, really need to put food on for children as well. Ilios run a bus service to the beach and back for holidaymakers that are all inclusive, this is unfair we would be willing to pay for this service as not many all inclusive people use this service.
Overall we enjoyed our holiday it was nice and relaxing but was just a little disappointed that things wasn't quite the same as the previous year. Word of warning mosquitoes plenty of them this year, take plenty of repellents. Reception area could do with more mosquitoes zappers put in as there was a lot in that area.
We have just returned from a...

We have just returned from a brilliant last minute holiday. The hotel was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in in Greece.
The facilities for families were superb. Lots of entertainment if you wanted it or you could retreat to a quiet area of the gardens if you didn’t. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially George, Babi and Elizabeth. The entertainment for the children was fantastic, including children’s cocktails etc and children’s disco evening.
Air conditioning was an optional extra, which was a bit expensive, but in high season would be a must. Superb showers at the pool area which can be used on your last day if you have a late night flight and don’t want to pay extra to keep your room. Only two downsides - the music in the pool area was a bit repetitive and sometimes a bit loud and the mosquitoes were a nightmare but we bought spray for the room in the village supermarket, which worked well. Go prepared!
One of the best holidays in Greece we have had for years.
