Submitted By: Mr C FrancisPaul runs a great place, the food is fine, stuffed vine leaves for 3.5 euros are very nice also Mousaka for 5.5 euros or so was very nice and left you full up.
The appartments are fine, I'd reconmend the air con at 5 euros a day just to help you sleep at night. If you get the choice the rooms between A10 to A16 have the best views of the sunset and sea, we stayed in the other block and still had a lovely view.
I would reconmend getting a car if only to do a quick shopping run to Lidl which is about 5 miles away. Things like ice tea, water, basic food for breakfast and snacks and such are so much cheaper there than the supermarkets in town which sell things like 10 slices of processed cheese for 5 euros.
The walk into town is a long one, about 35 minutes but at sunset is nice as it is all along the coast road. Paul hires bikes at the hotel which you can pay 3 euros a day for or 2 euros a day if you have them say for the week. Its completely flat into town so is just 5 mins on a bike. Be careful coming back at night though as most of the bikes lights dont work and your be riding in pitch black for some of the parts, oh take a little torch if you fancy walking at night.
Bus stop is at the end of the road (20m) and in the evening runs from kos town to fili (fili is last stop) then turns round and drives back. it is 1 euro 20 cent to tingaki and 1 euro 80 cents into kos town, in the evening they leave stop for kos town at 6.30pm or 745pm or later but we got these ones and the last back leaves kos town at 11pm and goes through tingaki at 11.15.
For nice resturants try Dana along the sea fron in town by the bus stop. The owner Tony lets you use his sunbeds (the best on beach) for free if you use his place for
breakfast.
One last thing, if you get a car try Camel beach up the other end of the island when its hot as it has the coldest sea on the island, a lovely little cove quite steep to drive down to but very rarely used by people and a little oasis.

Submitted By: Miss S PallettLast year we were travelling as a couple but this time we returned with other members of our family, who were also made to feel really welcome.
The whole complex is kept expremely tidy, the maids work really hard to keep the rooms tidy.
The hotel hires bikes which we used to get around for the week, they are much cheaper than the hire shops in the main resort
I have to say you are a good 20 minutes walk from the main resort but a taxi is only 6.50 E each way and the buses stop right outside.
The location of the hotel makes it extremely relaxing and peaceful.

Submitted By: Mrs B SenfordI went on one trip bought through the holiday rep to turkey bodrum, i would not recommend this trip, it was alot of fuss and mayhem with a small child, the market was very bizzy and you had alot of attention from sellers, not worth the mayhem for afew bargains! Other travelers booker the three island tour witch they said was brilliant, You can also book trips cheaper from an operater in tingaki centre. Traveling around is easy there are plenty of bike, car, quad and scooter hire shops around, there is a bus stop just a step away from the apartments as is the beach witch you can easily walk to, the shops etc are a bit of a walk but its an enjoyable walk along the view of the beach.
On the whole tingaki is a layed back friendly place to holiday and has something for everyone, am going again in may!

Submitted By: Miss R RichardsonThere is a supermarket 200m away and the same distance to the beach
Paul is friendly and makes you feel welcome 100 percent, bobbi was mint.
Rooms are basic but what do you expect for the price of the hoilday. They are cleaned daily. Fili apartments has good food at reasonable prices.
Also our rep Jamie was great and very friendly helping us solve any problems
Overall I would return any day.

Submitted By: Mr PETER CLOSESome great features of Fili Apartments were:
Our son travelling independently was allowed to stay at no extra charge.
Really well sheltered from strong winds around pool and for outdoor eating.
Choice of 2 balconies at each apartment; again useful for shelter.
Regularly cleaned and well serviced.
Basic but good value meals available at all times.
Really authentic Greek country restaurant next door.
Choice of 2 pools and plenty of sunbeds.
Bikes to rent for an unbeatable 35 euros / week.
Quiet location but very accessible to beach, Tingaki and bus service (to Kos).
Only minor criticism:
A bit too much loud British pop music at times; something a bit more relaxing would have been nice!
But overall wouldn't have swapped for any of the more expensive apartments we could have booked.

Submitted By: Mr C R RichmondThe rooms are clean. The beach and nearest supermarket is only 200m away. The resort of Tingaki is 2km away. In Tingaki there is many companies which to loads of trips to other islands. I would recommend the trip to the volcanic island called Nissyros.

Submitted By: Miss S PallettWe had a studio room for 3 which had more than enough space for the 2 of us
The pool area and the bar were always clean and the cleaners worked hard to keep the rooms clean.
I cannot complain about the apartments. The view across the bay from our balcony was great.
We ate at the hotel and were pleasantly surprise in the size and quality of the food for the price (it was cheap compared to the restaurants we ate in)
The only thing I would say that is if you plan to cook in the rooms then you will need to hire some form of transport to go to the main supermarket
I would recommend it, in fact we have already booked to go back in May next year.

Submitted By: Mr T W MitchellWe had half a toilet roll and no bin liner to put it in. We made a complaint to Paul the owner and was told that if we wanted more loo roll we would have to purchase it, and the room was cleaned to a good standard and when the sun shines it would heat the water.
Later after a drink the owner had nothing good to say about his guests and constantly complained about how much he got from the tour operators and how if he got more money from them he would do some maintenance.
The rooms were not cleaned and the cleaners did the least amount they could get away with. The whole week we was there the pool was never cleaned and by the end of the week I could see an old plaster a glass and an ice cream wrapper on the bottom along with lots of grime and dirt.
Do not go to the fili. I am not one to normally complain but the whole place could be very nice and the location is superb the beach the town and the Island are fantastic, the fili is let down by an owner that is corroded by greed.

Submitted By: Mr S SmithThe beach is very nice and the water is not to cold either. It took us about 35mins to walk from Fili into Tingaki and that was at an average pace. Here you will find places to eat and drink and a few shops for the women. There is a very big super market at the top end of Tingaki (there Tesco) but make sure you don't have to walk back to Fili it will take up to an hour. You can hire about every mode of transport everywhere. It starts off at a push bike for 2 euros p/d and goes up to a car (Nancy’s car hire small plug) for a brand new car for 40 euros p/d. We hired a moon buggy the first week for a day and this was good fun but found out the next week (when we hired a car) we could have had a brand new full air con car for cheaper (well 5 euros).
We had the car for a day and went round the whole island and saw the best sites and there are lots. Its easy to drive there one main road across Kos in the middle with all other roads leading off it (so easy I even let the misses direct) just watch out for the big holes in the road.
Over all it was a nice holiday (for relaxing) with the 3 pools at the fill and the very cheap food from the bar.

Although the distance to Tingaki is a bit of a drawback the Fili made up for this by being a nice relaxing area where even people on their own or in couples had plenty of space away from the children as there are two decent size pools and an infants pool. All round a very enjoyable holiday indeed hope to return for a week next year. <br>

Advice: slow pace, relaxing and ideal for families
Activities: The wine yard at the rear of the apartments, trip to zia in the mountains beautiful sunsets
Good for: Beach
