" WILL RETURN AGAIN "
Submitted By: Kizzy66
We have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Mayflower. This is the first time we have stayed in these apartments. We had a two bed apartment with a lounge area, kitchen area and two bathrooms and three balconies which were very spacious. The pool area is clean and spacious and there are plenty of sunbeds for everyone. We travelled as a family with two teenagers, who really enjoyed themselves and made lots of friends. The swimming pool and the pool table were their favourites. Christos and his family give you a friendly welcome and by the time you leave are friends. They cannot do enough for you. The food was good and had something on the menu for everyone. Tingaki itself is a nice quiet resort but has plenty of restaurants and bars for all ages. Our favs were Sagattarius and Spyros. The Barbecue at the aparments is a must with lots of Greek dancing and fab food. We did this twice as it was soooo good. Visit Zia in the mountains to see the sunset. You need to be there around 7.30pm in August. Best restaurant is Oromedon in Zia. The pictures on the Thomson website do not represent how good these apartments are. The Mayflowers own website gives you a lot more information and better visual pictures. I would reccommend these apartments to families with children, teenagers and couples of all ages as everyone got on so well together. We will be returning to the Mayflower as it was so good. Thank you everyone for a great holiday. We are missing you all already and will see you all soon.
Advice: Good for rest and relaxation
Activities: Sagattarius and Spyros

" best greek holiday "
Submitted By: Katrina Wardley
We have just returned from the best greek holiday we have ever had. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and it was so spacious and had 2 bathrooms which was handy with 2 children. The rooms were immaculate. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help you. The hotel do a BBQ night with greek dancers which is very entertaining. I would recommend you hire a car as there are some lovely sights to see and some fantastic beaches, Paradise Beach was the best. Try the local restaurants Spros and Saggitarius which are within walking distance. If you travel with Thomson the holiday rep Matthew is very helpful!! We would definately stay here again.

" We have stayed at the Mayflower twice... "
Submitted By: Mr M Hudson
We have stayed at the Mayflower twice now and have booked up again for 2009. This has to be one of the best, if not, the best place to stay in any of the Greek islands. These apartments are outstanding; the resort is fantastic, quiet if you want it and full of life if you want that too. My recommendation is book up to go to the Mayflower, you will not regret it!
Do what you want to do; when you want to do it, it’s as simple as that.
The staff at the complex go that “extra mile” to ensure your stay with them is exactly as it says on the tin (brochure), fantastic!
Everything is within easy walking distance from the hotel, shops, bars etc and all are well priced for authentic Greek food.

" We spent 2 lovely weeks at the family... "
Submitted By: Mrs J Cull
We spent 2 lovely weeks at the family run Mayflower Hotel in 2007. The apartments were very comfortable and clean. People come back year after year which is down to the staff being so friendly and welcoming.
Even though we went mid-season the pool was never crowded and there was always sunbeds available.
We enjoyed the Greek night with the dancers. The family all got up and danced for us which was a real treat.
We were told by all the reps that the Mayflower was the best accomodation on the island.
We normally don't go back to the same place but, we can't wait to go back this year.

" My wife and I have just returned from... "
Submitted By: Mr J Pepper
My wife and I have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Mayflower Hotel and it was superb, by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in in Greece.
The hotel is quite "posh" looking, as far as Greek hotels go, its light, airy, spacious, clean and the staff are really friendly and make you feel so welcome. They all speak fantastic English which is helpful. We had an apartment to the side overlooking Zia and the mountains, which was lovely and peaceful. The apartments are big, reasonably comfy. We had a balcony off the bedroom and off the lounge which is a bit unique.
The walk into Tingaki takes about 5 minutes, no hills to deal with. Its quite a dark walk back to the hotel in the evening as its set on a back road so can feel a bit scary at first but nothing to worry about, the cows, turkeys and dogs will look after you!!!
The resort itself is nice, and busier than what we were expecting. The best restaurant in Tingaki is Meni.....you must go there as the food and service is amazing, and no more expensive than the other restaurants. Beach is lovely and the doughnut seller always comes just when you start to get a bit peckish!!
Our Thomson rep was Niki, lovely girl and was extremely helpful throughout our stay. Popped in on an almost daily basis and she took the time to check everything was okay.
I really recommend the Mayflower, and the tabby cat who likes to shade IN the pool table is very entertaining!!
Enjoy!

" We stayed for 2 weeks at the... "

We stayed for 2 weeks at the Mayflower apartments in peak summer and we all had an excellent time.
The accommodation was spot on- we had a very spacious apartment which was kept thoroughly clean and a nice sized balcony overlooking the pool and surrounding area. Air conditioning and satellite TV are available in each room- the latter being free of charge apparently (though we never used it).
The pool is a good size and it didn't once get crowded, and we were there in mid-August. As with the rooms, the pool was also kept very clean. There is a bar within the accommodation which serves a range of drinks and snacks, though it isn't really a place to eat your evening meal.
The staff were some of the friendliest people we've ever met and for their hospitality alone we would definitely return at some stage. Everyone tried their best to ensure you had a perfect holiday.
The Mayflower is situated slightly outside the centre of the resort (about 2km from the beach and 800-900 metres from nearest supermarket), but the walk is low level and pleasant.
As for the resort, Tingaki isn't the best place I've been to in Greece but it does have quite a lot to offer. There are several tavernas, bars and shops leading down to the beach but because they run either side of the main road, you may find it gets quite loud due to the amount of cars and mopeds. The beach is potentially beautiful but in peak season it is swamped with thousands of sun beds, packed one after each other. If you want a bit of free space, you have to walk about 1km further down the beach where you there is room for your own parasols.
If you want to travel elsewhere on the island, you will find many great beaches all within 10-20 minutes of Tingaki. Car hire is reasonable and the roads in Kos are surprisingly well-kept. The island's capital is only a 20 minute bus ride from Tingaki and it is there where you experience a taste of cosmopolitan Greek life (albeit on a small scale!). Other resorts that caught our eye were Kefalos and Mastichari.
With regards to the tour operator, the Thomson rep was easy to talk to and very helpful.
All in all, the Mayflower is an excellent place to stay and I can't recommend it enough. Tingaki, on the other hand, is nothing special and seems to be targeted predominantly at British tourists (and not Greeks).

" We stayed for 1 week at the Mayflower... "
Submitted By: Miss H Card
We stayed for 1 week at the Mayflower apartments. It was very clean and the staff could not do enough to help you. The bar staff were especially nice, making strange cocktails for us to drink!
The resort of Tingaki was not particularly big but had plenty of restaurants and bars to keep us amused for a week! Even had a cocktail bar which sold cocktails for 2 euros each! So many bike hire shops, we hired one for the day for a very reasonable cost and biked for miles!! Everywhere was easy to get to and well signposted.
The only tiny aspect of the whole holiday that was a bit off putting was the walk into the local resort - it was only 10-15 minutes or so but it was along a back road next to a farm and sometimes the animals would be on the road - sheep, goats etc. a bit scary especially at night. Most of the time they were behind the wall and the dogs were chained up but they still ran to the end of their chain and bark at you!
Apart from that the apartments were great and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
