The hotel accommodation itself was average - there was everything you needed and it was very clean, though we felt that it perhaps could have done with a bit updating to make it posher - though I think they were in the process of doing that.
The service and food, however, was excellent. There was a very wide selection of nice food and as it was self service there was plenty of it! Myself and my wife are both veggies and there was always plenty of nice food to eat. There was some ok entertainment at the hotel - Greek dancing, and a pool table that was often unoccupied. There were also plenty of other, fairly cheap places to go on a night (and cheap nice places to eat at too).
The rep from First Choice was brilliant, and based at the hotel most days. The hotel was situated on a lovely long sandy beach that we loved to walk along to the old town and harbour. Plenty of lovely shops in the old town. There was a night arranged for all the British guests to meet each other - not compulsory but a good way to meet and make friends (and get free drinks!!).
We would definitely go back there again and would recommend the hotel to anyone who is visiting Rethymnon.
