just got back after 10 days of brilliant weather, this island is beautiful , last here 7 years ago, stayed at the san lorenzo appartments then which are just up the road from the lorenzo hotel, the room that we stayed in was 301 on the top floor , fantastic view over the bay of argostoli and the mountains on the other side, the only downside was the room needs a refit, everything was getting pretty tired and bodged up,didnt look till the last day, the mattress on my bed had large dried blood stains and holes with rotten covering under the clean sheets that were changed every day, the fitted wardrobe was falling down inside, and one of the draws didnt have a bottom in it, the toilet leaked, the shower tray was cracked, the balcony shutter wouldnt lock, must take my sunhat of for the maid who cleaned up every day ,still this is greece its always been rustic, part of its charm, problem is the prices arnt rustic like they used to be, we went self catering the local shops werent much dearer than lidls on the poros road, bread nearly two euros ,milk the same for half a liter, everything food wise about three times dearer than the uk, car hire 140 euros for three days, petrol 1 euro 75 cents a litre, so if you are going to rent a car go for a small one, the local beach antonios is beautiful but the two sunbeds and umbrella were 5 euros when we got there but went up to 7 euros half way through the week, large beer 3 euros, vodka and coke 5 euros, eating out with litre house wine two courses approx 30 euros, all in all the island is beautiful but you need to take plenty of money to enjoy it

The Lorenzo hotel is a great location for a holiday. We came back yesterday and enjoyed our stay immensley. The hotel has friendly staff and is kept spotless by the maids. The rooms are basic but comfortable. Breakfast is continental, as you would expect abroad, and plentiful, although some may find it repetative. The pool is clean and there are ample sunloungers available and a reasonably priced bar serving dirnks and snacks. The beach is a 5 minute walk away and it is Idylic. Waters are crystal clear and the sand soft and clean. Parasols and loungers can be hired for 6E a set. Lassi itself has a wide selection of tavernas and a few supermarkets but manages to retain a 'non-touristy' feel. Aqua Marina and Phaedras are two of the best eateries, the former is run by Nico who will offer a warm welcolme and who puts on entertainment most evenings. Trips worth considering are the 'southern comforts' and 'Island tour' but book with the local agents rather than the rep as they are much cheaper. If you want more action the capital Argostole is about a half hour walk or a 6E taxi ride. While we were there the weather was n the high 30's/early 40's but a cooling breeze on some days was welcome. All in all we thourghly enjoyed our stay and would definately consider returning.

We have just returned from the most fabulas holiday in kefalonia. The Hotel was central to all our needs and was a ten minute walk to the most beautiful beach. I think reading all the reviews before I left really did help because I wasn't expecting much of the hotel or the breakfast. But I found the breakfast fun and qwarky. There was a bowl full of cold boiled eggs that i stayed away from. But my daughter was more than happy with her two bowls of tinned fruit and greek yogurt. I loved the fresh self toasted bread with unlimited butter and honey. Which we ate outside in the sunshine. The staff were lovely, the pool was clean and a great size for swimming and for pool games. The depth was great for us but it didnt have a very shallow , swallow end so may put parents off of it who want a shallow young childrens pool.I just loved the whole experience,,,,it was perfect from start to finish. Thank you Hotel Lorenzo!!

My husband and i just got back 4th oct from staying in tne hotel lorenzo in lassi
Kefallonia , hotel was excellent for a 2star plus it was clean and clean every morning, if you put towels on the floor the maids will change them everytime , The breakfast was good and plentyful , the staff were very helpful could'nt do enough for us , the only thing i will say is that the pool is freezing, not alot of people were brave enough to tempt it , butlers restaurant ( taverner ) was most excellent place to eat all the meat is stone baked beautifully cooked . the great thing about the hotel lorenzo is its location ideal for those who dont like hills its flat compared to alot of other places to stay . Lassi only has one atm and we put our hols money on the travelex visa card and it wont accept it neither would the atms in any other places in kefallonia be aware off these new travel cards, anyway about the hotel yes basic but very clean would stay again without a doubt . maureen north yorkshire

Just returned from Lassi loved Kefalonia, the hotel Lorenzo was in great location to beaches, white sand crystal clear sea.Found a nice little beach bar on Antonio beach although owner seemed quite miserable but having said that after spending a few lunch times there he gave me 2 glasses of rose on the house, very nice of him shame I was leaving the next day. Both my husband and I agreed that you wont find better beaches anywhere in Greece. There are a great selection of tavernas within a few minutes walking distance we tried most of them, Sirtaki was our favourite the waiters were very friendly they also have a great Greek atmoshere. As for the Hotel Lorenzo it is not a hotel we would personally go back to,the room was very very basic the bathroom was ugh..no ventilation, towels and bed linen were changed regulary no problems there, and the staff we found ok.However if you are unfortunate enough to be put in room 107 dont expect to get to sleep before 2.30 as the Aqua Marina play loud music until after 2 am(dont know how they get away with it). It is the noisiest hotel we have ever been in people never seem to stop scraping chairs around until all hours. Do visit Kefalonia if you enjoy beautiful scenery blue sea and great beaches.
- Activities: Argostolli is very picturesque Sirtaki was our favourite taverna.

My family and I have just returned from an amazing 2 weeks holiday at the Lorenzo Hotel in Lassi. This was my second holiday at this hotel.
Rooms:
I had a lovely room (51) on the ground floor just accross from the swimming pool. Loved sitting out on the veranda sipping coffee or something stronger when the sun got too hot!! the local sparrows are very tame and come for some nibbles if you are eating a sndwich etc. The rooms are kept absolutely spotless by the maids. Fresh smelling bed linen and towels are supplied regularly, floors kept spotless. Beds very comfortable. Lovely flat screen tv's in room with English channels. Bathrooms although small were spotless with good shower facilities (including curtain).
Staff:
What wonderful people. All the staff are so very friendly and go out of their way to assist you in any way they can. A big thankyou to all on reception, breakfast duty, snack bar, maintanance and maid service. Newest addition to the hotel is a kitten called Sally who belongs to the hotel staff, she is absolutley gorgeous but watch your toes as she has a habbit of pouncing on them when you are asleep!!!
Swimming Pool:
The pool is absolutely fab, spotlessly clean and large enough to work off the meal and excesses of the night before!!! Plenty of sun loungers though we preferred to lounge under the olive trees on the grass area on the deck chairs. Beautiful gardens with lovely flowers and shady places to take a snooze. The groundsman was lovely and used to pick us fresh figs to eat which were yummy.
Taverna's
An excellent selection of places to eat in the resort. Our favourite has to be the Ionio Taverna (has blue barrells outside). Traditional Greek Taverna with blue and white table cloths and greek murals on the walls. Have never tasted such delicious food. Recommend the Lamb of the Village, Yemista, and fried sole fish. Andreas and his staff are so friendly and provide such a warm welcome - miss you guys soooo much
I will be booking my stay next year asap. Can't recommend this hotel enough.

Well, we booked this hotel due to reviews on here. This is my third time to Lassi and I have always loved it, I will go back but I was disappointed this year.
Ok so this hotel is a good location right near to Aqua Marina a fab restaurant with good atmosphere, good food.
Bed and breakfast - hmm, breakfast - random to say the least, hence us never having it.
Our room was horrific, very basic - we complained and were offered ONE alternative a stinky room with a birds nest, screetching birds and poo everywhere. So we opted for the ground floor one we were originally offered. It was like a little prison cell with a awful shower that trickled out one tiny bit of water (washing your hair takes an hour - be prepared!)
Thomas cook were not good and their response was to offer us another for £400 more!
Eventually it did grow on me wierdly due to its location BUT the room was very very very basic, and I have to be honest that the hotel as a whole is very pretty and clean and pleasantly nice. We weren't being picky as we've stayed at the Panorama (great but not the hill) and the Makris Yialos (basic and pretty and clean)
The pool is great and the food is also lovely. I did not get a wink of sleep throughout the week as being at the bottom you regularly heard scraping of chairs, cackling, clattering and the maids had the annoying tendency to turn up around 9-10am so if you had a heavy night - you wouldn't get sleep!
anyway re maids the cleanliness and service is the best - everyday clean and fresh towels, beds made and a good old bleach!
If you are prepared to rough it have a good location and great hotel (minus the room) go here defo.
Make sure you are very careful if you use car hire, sadly Profanis and CBR are the same company they are th eonly one that offers a so-called full insurance which means jack xxx if you have a crash, or puncture - as we did and they took all our money and we had no car!

I have just (yesterday) returned from a 2 week stay at the Lorenzo. the hotel is a lovely hotel, the rooms although basic are adequate and the maid service is excellent. We had clean towels every day.
The breakfast is "continental" so its cereal, toast, boiled eggs, cheese & ham and you have the option eating in the dining room or taking the tray to your room.
We stayed in room 209 which is on the second floor on the corner of the front of the hotel and the balcony went all the way round to the sea view at the back- the only draw back was that it could get quite windy and during the night the wind whistled round the corner.
The hotel is spotless and the staff are very friendly except that is for the young girl who served in the cocktail bar who was really quite miserable and insisted on playing what could only be described as "HOUSE MUSIC" most of the night, bearing in mind the average age of the guests must have been 50+ and the fact that she refused to change the music when asked it was the only downside of the hotel and it meant that after a few days most of the guests avoided the cocktail bar prefereing to stay in one of the surrounding bars i.e. Trentis Bar or Odyessy Bar.
The hotel is in a great location and very near the beach however head past the Zorbas restaurant and bar and follow the signs down the beach.... its fantastic and there is a great bar on the beach.
Although Lassi is quite a small resort made up of one main street there are lots of places to eat and typically of any holiday desitnation the menus are basically all the same.... try the beef stifado its yummy.
Hope this review helps, Lassi is a very nice quiet resort and is ideal for a relaxing holiday.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Lorenzo Hotel in Lassi and what a great place this hotel is. Idealy situated. A few minutes from the main street with lots of good tavernas and a few minutes walk to a lovely little beach (Antonio beach).Only small but quite pretty. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly. Especially the German lady at the pool bar.
The only downside was the arrangements at breakfast. Although the food was good by Greek standards it was a bit of a bun fight trying to find somewere to sit once you had been to the bar to collect your tray and get your food, and this was in mid September when it was not booked to full capacity. But that is the only downside. The rest was great and Kefalonia is a beautiful island. Better than some Carribean Islands I have visited. We will definately return to the Lorenzo as we thought it was excellent value for money.

My husband and I have just returned from Kefalonia staying at the Lorenzo. We had a really lovely holiday. The hotel is excellent, its in a really good location and spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Kefalonia is truly breathtaking with beautiful beaches and stunning scenery. A photographers dream! Lassi is an excelent base it has several shops and a good supply of restaurants offering plenty of choice.
We rarely return to the same destination as we feel there are so many places to take a holiday, but we've fallen in love with kefalonia and we will definitely be back for more!

This is a well organised, friendly hotel. Rooms are quite basic but cleaned daily.
Breakfast comprised of a tray with juice, hot drink, bread and preserves. You could then add to this with cheese or ham as well as fruit salad (tinned) and yoghurt. Eggs and fresh fruit were sometimes available.
The swimming pool area was excellent with a fantastic view across to the sea. It was sometimes a challenge to get a table with chairs and sunbeds. I think you had to be an early riser and put your towels down to save beds!!
The pool bar was good and served decent snacks during the day. It was good that it stayed open until 1 a.m so you could always have a night cap.
it's very well located near a lovely small beach, busier and bigger ones just a slightly longer walk. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from and Argostle is only a 25 minute walk along one road, admittedly uphill but a pleasant enough view as you walked.
I would willingly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing unwind from a busy life. There were very few groups of friends but plenty of couples and families. Most children seemed to be primary aged. Our two were both teenagers and enjoyed it as much as we did. Probably not a place to go to if you are wanting a wild time.
