Lorenzo Hotel

We have just returned from a lovely holiday in Lassi. The island of Kefalonia is beautiful and very laid back. Myself and my partner wanted a relaxing week and that is exactly what we got.
The Lorenzo Hotel is in a great location with plenty of lovely restaurants and a few bars literally on its doorstop.
The rooms at the hotel were basic but very clean. The pool is nice and big with plenty of sun beds; the poolside snack bar is very good too.
Everyone we met in Lassi was friendly; we don't have anything negative to say about the holiday! The beaches there are gorgeous too and only a short walk from the hotel.
If you want a nice relaxing holiday then this is the place to go, we would definitely go back again.

The Lorenzo Hotel in Lassi was recommended to us and after reading the reviews in Holiday Watchdog, we felt confident that it would match our spec.
Having returned yesterday after a wonderful two week holiday, we can confirm that it did. The hotel was spotless, as was our room - with the bonus of a balcony with stunning sea views.
Breakfasts were basic fare and a bit samey but plenty to go at and the Greek yoghurt was delicious especially with a bit of honey. They have a big fridge on the lower floor for guests to keep drinks in etc, but we only spotted this on our last day, after two weeks of late evening Bacardi and warm cokes on our balcony!
We had a list of restaurants, recommended on the Friends of Kefalonia website, but discounted some as they weren't Greek so we can't comment. However, we found a couple more not on the list which were fabulous, namely the Nefeli and the Phaedra.
The service and friendliness of the staff was second to none. Do try the local award winning wines such as Robola (white), San Gerassimos (white) and our favourite: Brillante (white or rose). The Kefalonian meat pie is to die for - so my partner said!! I had chicken, fish or veggie dishes and can seriously recommend too.
Do take the round the island coach trip - a full day with the wonderful and cuddly Esme, who has lived on the island for 17 years, after going there on holiday. She is so knowledgeable about the history, geology, culture, flora, and fauna and brings the island alive.
The trip included the Robola Wine factory (and wine tasting), the San Gerassimos monastery, Melissani Lake, Fiskardo (the only village to escape the 1953 earthquake) and Drogarati Caves. She is also a member of KAT (Kefalonian Animal Trust) - check it out if you're a cat or dog lover.
Great swimming and snorkelling at the sandy beach in front of the Hotel Mediterranean. Nice walk into the capital, Argostoli, on the inland road, which takes about 20 minutes. The coast road walk apparently takes about two hours.
We booked with Airtours and they were excellent - our rep Kelly was very helpful and visible for much of the holiday. We'd definitely pay a return visit one day.

Great hotel situated just off the main road next to a fantastic restaurant Aqua Marina, beautiful weather and thankfully still a fantastic tranquil island.
If you’re after a busy nightlife don't go to Kefalonia.
Hotel breakfast is typical continental breakfast good variety and the option to eat it in your room if you want; English breakfast is not on offer, which can only be a good thing.
I would definitely recommend Kefalonia and Lassi to anyone who wants a quiet peaceful tranquil holiday with beautiful beaches and friendly locals.
If that’s not what you want, then don't go.

Hotel is in a prime location, with only a few mins walk from a wide selection of tavernas, bars and restaurants! Local ('long' beach as it is called) is fantastic, and certainly the best i have seen in Europe! Bus stop is right outside the hotel that will take you into the capital, or it is only a 25 min walk! Supermarket is 2 mins away!
Hotel is basic but exceptionally clean! Rooms were cleaned spotless every day! Staff were very nice and most were helpful! Enjoyed the breakfast. Pool is fantastic and pool bar offered a lovely range of snacks and drinks!
Lassi is a lovely resort, and not as commercial as I was expecting which is fantastic as there is real Greek culture left on this beautiful island! Strongly recommend venturing out of the resort. Fiscardo is wonderful and Myrtos bay is well worth the visit! Local trips are organised from the hotel! A truly wonderful island!
Overall we had a lovely relaxing and peaceful holiday considering we are a young couple traveling at a quieter time of year! I would definitely return to the Lorenzo hotel! Unbeatable value for what you get!

Just come back from a lovely 2 weeks was great we saw much of the island hotel was spotless rooms were cleaned every day and bed and towel linen changed regular .the evening girl on reception was very nice and help full, rooms were basic but very clean with a nice terrace where you could eat breakfast if you wanted or could use the dinning room or terrace. Lassie is good too lots of nice eating places liked Zorbas but went somewhere different every night with going back to Zorbas before we returned home. Would I go back yes and too Lorenzo too pool area was excellent,

This was our first holiday to Greece, and the first as just a couple for many years! The Lorenzo looks just as good as the brochure pictures and the whole hotel was spotlessly clean, we saw cleaning staff throughout the day and all of the staff were polite and helpful.
Breakfast was buffet style and lacked variety but there was always plenty - cereals, yogurts, bread, boiled eggs, cheese and cake.
The hotel is situated near the beach, a short walk down the hill. Well placed for restaurants - we tried a different one every night and for buses or taxis in to Argostoli where you can catch the ferry across to Lixouri or a local air conditioned bus to either the North or South of the island.
In a week we managed to see most of the island either on organised trips or independently - Myrtos beach & Fiskardo are "must sees". I went horse riding on the beach at Lixouri whilst my husband fished in the harbour
Recommended restaurants would be the Captains Table(in Argostoli not on the seafront, there are two) but unless you are in to cheesy children’s disco's give Zorba's a miss!

Hotel is spotless with the friendliest staff.
Great pool area and good public areas.
Breakfast was better than we have had in Greece before. Cornflakes, fruit Jam and bread Yogurt and Honey each day along with eggs Cheese and Ham and cheese triangles on alternative days.
This was picked up in reception and was eaten in the dining area outside on the terrace or in your room.
Rooms slightly larger than average in Greece.
Did not find anything but very good to excellent food favs were Monte Nero, Mystic gusto and Nefili but really could not fault most. Not that much in the way of nightlife or sports bars (just as we like it.)
The island has a view round most corners and there are plenty of those. You must get out and about the Island is a joy to behold.
Went on the Island tour from Etam travel in Lassi. What an excellent guide and much cheaper than the reps tour.
The Ithaca trip is a must (not if you don't like hairpin bends)
The first visit to Kephalonia it surely won't be our last. Could recommend Hotel Lorenzo to anyone.

After reading most reviews on this hotel we decided to book it, we were not disappointed. hotel was very clean, the staff spent a lot of time on each room when being cleaned.
breakfast was just right ie. tea or coffee, bread rolls, ham& cheese, boiled eggs, yoghurt, melon, grapes, Madeira cake and fruit juice.
pool was fabulous about 22 metres long and a lovely pool bar.
very nice bar which we used later in evening after a night out. half price cocktails 10.30pm to 11.30pm. 3.5 euros each.
beaches were fabulous, my favourite was peaceful beach. plenty of restaurants to choose from.
we hired mountain bikes and went on a very scenic route around coast to capital Agostoli taking about 25 minutes. lovely beaches on the way. Agostoli was lovely very Greek with a lovely harbour front.
around island trip i can recommend, we booked with panem tours just down the road, cost 18 euros for full day.
this was the nicest Greek island and holiday we have had. will go back one day. my wife also loved it. our favourite restaurants were, Ionion, to the left on main street and veronicas. to the right we liked Lorenzo restaurant.
