This is a great place to be if you just want to chill out and enjoy a great beach, beautiful sea and great greek food.
I think the brochure under sold this appartment,it said there was no airconditioning but there was and the rooms were cleaned daily, you didnt get clean towels and clean bedding everyday but,now you know eh.
This is a great place for families and couples, its more like the unspoilt greece I know.
You have to check out The Pines restaurant near the beach, the food and service is second to none.
The people are really friendly and helpfull, but not pushy, there is two jewellery shops on the main street which ave a big selection of authentic and modern pieces. The gifts shops are well stocked and plenty of supermarkets to get them essentail things.
You also got to try the kefalonia pie its yummy and they make a mean banana milk shake.

My partner+I spent 2 weeks staying at the Poseidon Appartments in Kefalonia in Sept 2007.Our appartment was pleasant+had 2 balconies one was outside our bedroom and was quite private but the second was next to our neighbours balcony with just a waist high barrier. The hand basin in the bathroom had a bowl underneath it as there was a leak somewhere in the pipes,The owner Maria was very apologetic and said she was waiting for a plumber, well he came and the leak got worse!Without going into too much detail we spent 2 weeks mopping the bathroom each time we used the basin.Maria kept apologising and each day she phoned him but he never turned up,We spoke to our Rep who also kept apologising!!!Apparently there was only one plumber on the Island!!!The weather was very unsettled for the first week and we wondered if we we're still in England but once the good weather arrived we we're down on the huge beach where there were very few people and we had so much space,We booked a trip round the Island through our Rep but she forgot to book us in so we stood at the bustop freezing and wet(we still had the British weather!!!)and saw the coach drive past! However we were able to go the following day and thankfully the weather was excellent and our guide was really good she told us so much about the Island,it was a very good day.Skala was fascinating I highly recommend the walk up but its essential to wear decent footwear I completely ruined my new sandals! All in all a very good holiday.

Well what can I say? I travelled with my young family, boy 8 and girl 11, mother-in-law and of course my wife.
We arrived on time and the reception we had was welcoming. There was some refreshments available to purchase, although there were if one wanted a very short walk, various well equipped grocery shops. I stayed in the front lower apartment and we all enjoyed the time we had there.
My children made friends with the owners little boy and the surrounding houses had local people living in them. This we found rather pleasant as we got to know and speak to all. Most friendly and hospitable.
There was noise around of people scraping chairs above and of course the children across the road being scolded on a couple of occasions. Well done mum!
Yes toilet rolls was supplied at first but! we were self catering and one should expect to supply own... we had a lovely time there and will return. Thank you!

My beef is not with the tour operator. We booked as a party of 3 adults and 2 children aged 2 + 3. We were charged a 3 adult under occupancy and still had to pay for a COT for the youngest. I say cot, it was a travel cot that looked like a lobster pot.
It was the worst weather for over 25 years and we had a terrible flight in and transfer. The coach broken down for a while with water flooding the roads. This was unavoidable of course, but sets the tone for the holiday.
After the first night, the hotel owner complained that the cot she provided rattles too much and we need to "wind it up". I assumed she meant tighten it up and given that I had left my toolbox at home could not fix it.
It rained solidly for 3 days. After night 2 the owner complained that we had wound the canopy down too far over the balcony and the wind was making it flap too loudly. We were only trying to prevent water hazard over the tiled balcony area. In any case, the equipment was not being mis-used. I'm not sure how we were supposed to be held accountable for the wind, but hey. I wound it back up the next day.
After day 3 came the 3rd complaint from the owner. We allegedly left the extractor fan on all night (which was not the case). We continued to be accused of this every day and the owner even tried to sneak in and place a notice above the switch, when she realised it was not on. it took 13 days for her to realise that it was one of the other appartments making the noise.
During the whole 14 days we were only given 1 toilet roll. This ran out on day 2 I think. We were given 4 towels to last the entire 1st week. I say towels, they were more like tracing paper.
The bedding did not get changed until we entyered week 2. The waste bin in the kitchen did get emptied and lined with the shopping bags we had purchased and binned.
The sofabed was in the kitchen and there was not enough room to fully open it up no matter which direction you tried. In this respect the appartment could not fully support the number of people it claimed to.
The owner is obviously in the wrong line of business. She is very rude and lazy. The the toilet stank and was not well maintained. The water cistern needed to be filled by the shower head to be able to flush it. The shower cusrtain barely fit the shower area, so water was not contained effectively. The towel rail kept dropping off the wall. The sink plug was impossible to remove if you used it. We ended up using a cloth.
The fridge temperature control had been removed to prevent you from selecting a higher setting presumably.
One day, the owner had taken all pricing off her wine and spirits as the tax man was due round. I guess this is an indication of what kind of person we are dealing with here.
Dishonest and greedy.
Do not expect any kind of service here.

Just had 2wks in the Poseidon apartments Skala and on first impressions it looked very clean and spacious, but after the first night there, I don’t think we had one good nights sleep. The walls are paper thin you can hear peoples conversations and even hear them going to the toilet in the night. Also we were on the street side of the apartments and the sound of the traffic was also loud.
There was a Greek family across the road and they had a little boy who constantly screamed which was a little off putting but all in all the location of the apartments were spot on easy access for everything not much to do in resort but alot of trips to keep you occupied.
