A little above average
from damy1998
We have just returned from Sidari Village so here are our pros and cons - hope to be helpful: PROs: EXCELLENT AND PLENTY of food, the cook was constantly running back and forth, from the kitchen into the restaurant to make sure there was enough food for everyone, whether he has to do the refill, he even served drink occasionally at the bar - really nice and friendly - the same thing about all of the staff, starting with the driver of the minibus and ending with the animators.: ); entertainment in the evening - a loooot of fun and quality time! - from the Greek night, to the 80`s disco and to the bingo nights; the minibus service and the friendly driver - as the buildings that are part of the village are up on a hill, there`s a minibus service - for free - that`s taking every guest from the reception area to your room (goes up and down every 10-15 min.).; spectacular view of the sea from the balcony - every room has sea view. CONs: very crowded restaurant, tables too close to one another, you can almost hear the person next to you breathe : ))); tends to be a noisy place - the rooftop restaurant/theatre is close to the buildings where they are accommodating the guests, so unless you are used to falling asleep on a noisy background, this is definitely not the place for you!; a LOT of babies and also teenagers - be prepared for noise in general from the first hours in the morning to late in the evening when - after the crying babies are asleep - drunk teenagers are a common sight : )))) ; cleaning during our stay - the worst experience we`ve ever had - and the towels had indeed a grayish color, we even found one with rusty spots on it; had tv in our room but only 2 channels to watch - CNN and a local channel - signal errors very common in both cases; no wireless internet connection - internet access only close to the reception area - paid service 4 eur/ half an hour; location: about 400 m from the sea - sun beds and sunshades 3,75 eur/pers./day - the ones at the pool are free of charge. Definitely a 3, but not a 4-star hotel!
would not go back
from WalesAngel
We found the rooms had not been cleaned i.e floors not mopped and the bathroom definately not cleaned thoroughly, the bedding and towells did not even seem white on our arrival. The resturanunte could not cope with the volume of people at the hotel and we know that the hotel was not fully booked in fact alot of guest had left, you could touch the table next to you that is how close together the tables were if you could get a table, the food was ok ish but a very small selection and again the demand could not be kept up with, we found that the cleaner left the balcony door unlocked and on one occasion even left our front door open, and a final word of warning is that the hotel is very noisy and where the main enertainment room is which is up about 20 steps there are no toilets there are toilets in reception and at the far end of the pool and that is it,we would definately not go back there for the above reasons
What a fantastic holiday
from Calian
We have just returned from a 2 week all-inclusive stay at this fantastic hotel. The village of Sidari and surrounding area is superb. The hotel itself was wonderful, with a great team of staff who were happy to assist with any queries we had. The food in the all-inclusive restaurant was wonderful. There was a different menu every day, and also a children's menu. The accommodation was set up on the hill, which admittedly was challenging, but there was a mini bus in operation from 8 in the morning until midnight so it wasn't a problem. The room itself was spotless and provided plenty of space for us and our 9 year old son. The maids came in each day to clean the room and bathroom, and the thing that struck me most was that any personal belongings left out were not touched at all. The swimming pool was magnificant with plenty of sunbeds. While we did "reserve" our sunbed, in reality this wasn't a problem and it was easy to find space around the pool. The pool bar was very handy and provided all local drinks, but to be honest it was so hot that water was definitely a must. There was a useful mini market on the site to buy snacks if those on offer at the pool bar were not to your liking. The animation team were excellent. Martin, Tony and Maria worked really hard. Martin was really funny and got everyone involved in the activities to hand. He was responsibile for the Water Polo in the morning, Tony took control of the Aqua Gym which was really exhausting but fun, and Maria took charge of the Darts. They also put on shows in the evening, situated around the pool bar which included comedy themes, musical quizzes, bingo etc. There was a Kids Club but unfortunately this was only available to the Dutch children. This wasn't a problem for us as our son was able to make plenty of friends with the English children. It is about a 10 minute walk into the town itself and the beach is just at the bottom of the road. We didn't go to the beach because it was a little messy but with the facilities back at the hotel this wasn't a problem. We did do 3 trips, one to Corfu Town and a trip on the Calypso Star which is a glass bottomed boat, we also did the Blue Lagoon trip, and we went to Aqualand which the kids will absolutely love. The wave pool was amazing but you need to get there early to get a rubber ring to sit on! The Black Hole was a scream...literally! While the trips were good, the journey to each of these was quite a way from the hotel so if you're not good on a coach, you might want to find somewhere more central to stay. Overall, we had an absolutely amazing time at the Sidari Village Hotel. It was very relaxing, the weather was fabulous, the staff were fantastic and we'd definitely consider going again in the future. Thank you to everyone who made our holiday so enjoyable.
Can You Speak Dutch??
from ukpommies
Just returned from Sidari Village - weather was excellent - just 2 very windy days - THIS HOTEL DOES NOT PROVIDED ENTERTAINMENT FOR ENGLISH SPEAKING FAMILIES!!! The kids club is owned seperately by a dutch firm, for dutch kids under the age of about 5yrs. We booked, under the impression that it was a family holiday - its not. There isn't any organised entertainment for the english kids during the day and the evening stuff consists of under 5's (dutch) sing along, bingo (ever present) then a 'show' from the animation team - who are very good. If your thinking about bringing your kids then choose somewhere else in the resort - or lose your kids to the numerous bars!!!! Last orders at the all inclusive beach bar finish at 11 pm - be aware that not all things from the bar (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are included in the all inclusive umberella. If you can make it up the hill to the camelot bar then drinks are half price 11 - 12pm then they are full price. Most of the dutch disappear at 11pm. Meals have a good choice - breakfast has a choice of cooked or cerals or yoghurt - THE BACON IS NOT REAL BACON !! - lunch and evening meal is lots of salads as well as a good choice of hot food - not necessarily english but good - evening meal has a good choice and there is also a seperate childrens options - the usual chicken nuggets and stuff - saves queing up with the adults - although there are 3 air con units in the 'restaurant' only 2 work , consequently this room does get extremely hot and you won't want to hang around very long. Pool area is very good - seperate childrens pool and the main pool graduates from 1m 20 - 1m 80, there is no shallow end here. Plenty of sunbeds available. Although the brochure says 500m to the sea this is 'as the crow files' - it is within walking distance but more like 1500m. The beach is spacious and sunbeds are €7,50 for 2 beds and a parasol for the day - they are usually all gone by lunch but there is plenty of room for your own lilo's and parasol. If walking up a very steep hill is not for you then ask for an apartment at the pool side - they are building 2 and 3. Building 4 and 7 are the furthest away and wether its the heat or the alcohol then the walk can be torture. There are some good points however - 2 bed apartments are spacious - 4 beds (one of which is a camp bed) seperate - but open plan - bedroom upstairs - kitchen with 2 electric rings, fridge, microwave and kettle - No Toaster but there is a breville toasty thing. Bathroom is well equipped with 'hoover' like hairdryer attached to the wall!! (didn't use it so can't comment) there is no bath - very clean, maids excellent every day - towels changed every three days and linen once a week. There is an air conditioning unit in each apartment and a TV - CNN being the only all english channel and a film channel with greek subtitles. The majority of staff here are cezch (i think) who are on compulsory work experience - they are very nice and efficient but the language barrier, especially when there is a new influx of staff can be a problem. Although this hotel is 4* personally i don't think its that good. I would book here again purely because of the lack of 'entertainment' Check out is a 12 and you can either try to book for a late check out - 8pm at a cost of €25 or you can try for the complimentry room which is for 15 mins only. Sidari itself is one street full of bars, restaurants, shops, a pharmacy and doctors. There is also a church, McDonalds and numerous mini supermaret type places. Most of the bars have big screens on in the day time showing films or footy.
Good time had by all

Just got back from the Village Hotel in Sidari, with our party of 13. 6 adults and 7 teenagers. We had a brilliant time. The appartments were very good with a separate mezzanine floor which was great for the kids. Hotel rooms were very clean with excellent maid service, with even our clothes being folded. The food in the restaurant was the best we have ever had in an all-inclusive restaurant, and we all found something to enjoy. The pool was clean and we always got sunbeds. The staff could not have been more helpful, Nicky on reception is english and is very helpful in fact the greek people are very accommodating, even on our excursion to Corfu town, a table for the 13 of us was organised immediately. The beach was very close with all sorts of water sports available. The only downside was that the entertainment was a little patchy, was not so much of a problem to us as we were such a large group but if you were in a smaller group this could be a problem. Would recommend a trip out to Kassiopi, we went on the bus and it costs 2euros 70 each way, a lovely place to spend a day. We also went to sunset beach, a taxi costs 8 euros and the restaurant manager organised lifts back free of charge, the sunset was amazing. Mosquitos are a bit of a problem, take plenty of protection with you, This was my brother and sister-in-laws first trip to Greece and they were completely bowled over by the friendliness of everybody. Would definitely go back again.
worst holiday ever
from cheshirepeb
Went to sadari a few years ago it was the worst holiday ever and will never return. The apartments were ok but the resort was cheap and nasty very tacky. Couldnt wait to get home. Might be ok if your young and want to go clubbing but other than that horrible Wont be going back in a hurry
Lovely hotel

After reading some reviews before we went, we were a bit anxious, but we need not have worried. We booked for self catering, but after having a trial night of the all inclusive we stayed all inclusive for the fortnight. At 20 euros per adult per day it was great value, the food was excellent. You did not have to pay in advance for the all inclusive so you decide what you were doing day by day. The staff were very friendly. My daughter became an animation groupee and watched all their shows. We were up the steep hill but with 2 teenage daughters, we were all fit enough to walk up and only used the bus when we had cases. Sidari village was lively enough for our teenagers but not too over the top for 40 something mum and dad. Would definately recommend expecially with children at that tricky "I'm bored" stage!
Great Resort Great Complex

Like many others after having read reviews of sidari garden we were not sure what to expect but went open minded. We travelled self catering and were lucky enough to have an apartment at the pool level, however there is a bus service that runs to the aprtments up the hill until 2am so im not sure why people are moaning about having to walk up there hill there really is no need!!!!! We found all the staff really friendly including the animation team that work there to be very friendly extremely helpful and not pushy with there selling. All in all very happy and would definately return

went with my entire family, seventeen of us in all. seven under sixteen. rooms were nice standard , very clean, it was the walk to them that was the problem, a very steep hill. went all inclusive and ended up spending time eating out locally or buying our own food, it was that bad. pool looked lovely but it seemed that everyone who went in it got sores on them. six of our party ended up with infections, two with food poisioning. two weeks after we got back it was featured on holidays from hell. BE WARNED
